Demi Lovato thinks the “tone” of her life has become “lighter”.

Demi Lovato is happy with where she’s at in her life

The 33-year-old pop star has teased details of her new album, It’s Not That Deep, explaining how married life has changed her music.

Demi – who married Jordan ‘Jutes’ Lutes earlier this year – told PAPER magazine: “I’m not in this place in my life where I need these huge emotional ballads. The tone of my life is lighter.”

Demi believes her new album is a reflection of where she’s now at in her life.

The chart-topping star said: “I think it’s really a reflection of where I’m at personally. I’m not in this place in my life where I need these huge emotional ballads to release some sort of deep emotional trauma I’m going through.

“I realised that when I started making this project. I started writing songs like that, and they just weren’t resonating … heavy topics like that. I’m in a place in my life where my energy feels very light.

“I just got married. It was a learning curve for me to take what I’ve always known about music, which is write what you know now. I had to learn how to write what was new to me, and that’s what this album is a reflection of. The tone of my life is lighter. I wanted a project that reflected that.”

Demi has experienced lots of ups and downs in her life, and she admits that it’s tough to connect with her fans while also retaining her own peace of mind.

She explained: “I see what people say. I don’t spend time looking and reading comments that I know are going to alter [my sanity].

“Here’s the thing about reading comments: I view it as, it’s either going to feed your ego or it’s going to make you feel bad about yourself. I don’t really want to do that from either point, but it’s difficult because I know that reading the comments is crucial to staying in contact with your fans. I don’t go searching for it out of a place where I need validation or anything like that. I go searching for the connection with my fans.”

Demi Lovato’s Husband Jutes Inspired Music, New Album

Demi Lovato is feeling confident thanks to her relationship.

The “Cool for the Summer” singer shared that her ninth studio album It’s Not That Deep—out Oct. 24—marks the return of “Popvato,” in part thanks to husband Jutes.

“I think it’s really a reflection of where I’m at personally,” Demi told Paper Magazine in an interview published Sept, 15. “I’m not in this place in my life where I need these huge emotional ballads to release some sort of deep emotional trauma I’m going through.”

The 33-year-old explained that when she started to work on the new album, she began writing songs that featured “heavy topics,” but quickly found that they weren’t resonating with her. Instead, she gravitated towards lighter fare—especially after her May marriage to the rapper and songwriter (real name Jordan Lutes).

“I’m in a place in my life where my energy feels very light,” Demi continued. “I just got married. It was a learning curve for me to take what I’ve always known about music, which is write what you know now. I had to learn how to write what was new to me, and that’s what this album is a reflection of.”

Porsha Williams Says Her Landscaping Budget
Has Gone To Attorney Fees

#PorshaWilliams has added landscaper to her résumé.

Seemingly making light of the extended back-and-forth in her divorce battle, Porsha shared a video doing some yard work around her pool and jokingly said her DMs are open for those looking to book her for landscaping.

She added in the caption, “When the attorneys have your landscaper’s money lol” While she was playing around, you gotta admit, Porsha got that pool area together!

bitchy | Platell: Prince Harry’s visit should be a wake-up call for boring, sulky William & Kate

by jummy84 September 16, 2025
written by jummy84

During Prince Harry’s four-day visit to the UK, Daily Mail columnist Amanda Platell could not shut up about how much she despised every single thing Harry was doing. Not only that, but Platell spun out several ideas for the many ways in which “King William” will eventually punish his brother. The whole thing was so toxic, it made me advocate for Harry leaving the UK and never coming back. But Harry had other ideas, obviously, and he ended up getting hugely positive coverage in the British press. Well, instead of just going all-in on her Harry hate-athon, Platell is now attempting to do the funniest volte-face of all time. “You know how I said King William will strip the Sussexes’ titles and ban them from the UK? Nevermind, William and Kate suck, actually.” I’m paraphrasing, but only barely.

Ahead of Prince Harry’s whirlwind four-day ‘pseudo royal tour’ many, myself included, dismissed it as just another desperate and calculated attempt to ingratiate himself into the royal fold. After all, that’s what he and his wife Meghan depend on to make their Netflix millions. Yet I have to confess I was perhaps too cynical. Harry’s visit brought us something we have not seen for a very long time from the royals – laughter and joy.

Which leaves many of us asking why William and Kate have decided to hide away and become the Prince and Princess of Boring. There have been fantastic pictures of Harry larking around with children in need, images like those of the cheeky Harry of old. Dare I say, the kind of pictures that Princess Diana generated during her short life even after she lost her HRH title.

And that is why Harry’s visit should be a wake-up call for his estranged brother William. In my book, he should stop skulking and be the man he was born to be. While Harry was cheering up ill children, a sombre Prince William was worthily chairing a conference marking World Suicide Prevention Day in Cardiff – admittedly an important cause. While Harry was in London high-fiving staff at the Diana Awards set up in honour of their Mum, Kate was sent off to not one but two events at textile factories.

Yes it is easy for Harry to fly in for four days and capture the world’s attention, but then he followed it up with a surprise visit to Ukraine. There he promised that, after helping through his Invictus Games to rehabilitate soldiers who had lost limbs, he would offer that chance to the men, women and children in Ukraine who had been similarly wounded in the war.

And then came the bombshell. On her Fresh Hell Substack, respected royal biographer Tina Brown claimed King Charles is currently ‘less irritated’ by Prince Harry than he is by William….I have to agree with Tina Brown on one thing – that Harry’s triumphant tour has been a great success in PR terms and is ‘bad news for the Prince of Wales’.

Especially at a time when the latest survey revealed, shockingly, that support for the Monarchy has dropped from 86 percent in the Eighties to its lowest level since records began, with only half of Brits today supporting what many see as an outdated institution. The only images we ever see of William smiling is in the home videos he and Kate reluctantly release of them and the children frolicking, not on royal duties seen by the public but hidden away around one of their many homes.

[From The Daily Mail]

While Harry obviously didn’t plan on that “crumbling support for the monarchy” poll to come out in the middle of his visit, it’s hilarious that it happened that way. It was like a direct cause-and-effect before our eyes – an old, cancer-ridden king avoiding his family in a gothic castle in Scotland, a workshy heir pitifully screaming “don’t forget about me” during thrown-together last-minute events, and the charismatic ginger prince who walked away from the whole toxic lot. It feels like Kate and William actually wish they were just “boring.” Boring could be efficient, boring could be ho-hum, dutiful and visible. Instead, they’re lazy, barely visible and clearly desperate.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner‘s mom, Pamela Warner, has shared an update on his wife, Tenisha Warner, and his daughter while setting the record straight on details surrounding his death.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s Mom Sets Record Straight On Details Surrounding His Death

On Tuesday, September 16, ABC News published an exclusive video interview featuring Pamela Warner. During the interview, Pamela set the record straight on the details surrounding her son’s passing. As The Shade Room previously reported, it was initially asserted that Malcolm-Jamal drowned after trying to save himself and his daughter from an undercurrent while swimming on a beach in Costa Rica on July 20. Then, it was asserted that Malcolm-Jamal was swimming with a friend while his daughter was safely onshore when he was swept by the current, per The Shade Room.

“They were in the water, I think maybe chest-deep at, even at that — maybe waist-deep,” Pamela explained to Robin Roberts. “There was an undertow, and my son was not an experienced swimmer. He did not know how to deal with an undertow.”

Pamela confirmed that Malcolm-Jamal’s daughter was safely onshore when the tragedy occurred.

Pamela Warner Shares Update On Her Son’s Wife, Tenisha Walker, & Their Daughter

As the interview continued, Pamela explained that she’s come to “peace” with her son’s death.

“That was his time. That was the manner in which he was to transition, and this is what I believe and what I feel,” she explained. “I’m very grateful that I was chosen to be his mother. I think more than anything, I’m at peace with everything that happened. There was nothing left on the table. There was no shoulda, coulda, woulda. ‘I wish I would have said this, I wish I would have done this.’ I don’t have that. I feel that our journey together as mother and son was complete.”

As for Malcolm-Jamal’s wife, Tenisha, and his daughter, Pamela, explained that they are both in “deep grief.”

“Children process differently. She watched them resuscitate him, try to resuscitate him. She saw that, and I know that’s awfully, awfully traumatic. She loved her father dearly. She adored papa. He was ‘papa,’ and so they’re both in deep grief,” she explained.

Robert Redford left a lasting impression on Hollywood. From his 1970s rise to fame to his hard work as a climate activist and acclaimed filmmaker, there’s no question that the late 89-year-old will be missed. Fans and peers of Redford’s alike are mourning his death and praising him for his personality and his contributions to film. His former co-star Jane Fonda — who worked with Redford in Barefoot in the Park, The Electric Horsemen and Our Souls at Night — was one of the first to pay their respects to the Academy Award winner.

Below, read the tributes from some of Redford’s industry colleagues.

Jane Fonda

“It hit me hard this morning when I read that Bob was gone. I can’t stop crying,” Jane told USA Today. “He meant a lot to me and was a beautiful person in every way. He stood for an America we have to keep fighting for.”

Meryl Streep

Meryl kept her statement short and sweet: “One of the lions has passed. Rest in peace my lovely friend.”

Octavia Spencer

Octavia penned a lengthy Instagram post in honor of Redford. She began by writing, “Today we lost a legend. #RobertRedford wasn’t just a screen idol. He was a storyteller, a visionary, and someone I admired deeply, as so many of us did. I’m grateful I had the chance to witness his magic firsthand. I advised at the @sundanceorg Institute for a week and watched how HE was such an important voice in shaping the perspectives of countless emerging filmmakers.”

“After that week, I, the Oscar-winning professional, found myself begging to pay to enter their 12-week intensive because the experience was that transformative,” the actress continued. “Of course, they declined. But Mr. Redford was moved that I valued it so highly. That week inspired me to become a donor, and I’ve carried the impact with me ever since. Through Sundance, he leveled the playing field for new voices to be heard. Our industry is forever changed because of him and because of the filmmakers Sundance nurtured. Visionaries like Ryan Coogler, Cary Fukunaga, Reinaldo Marcus Green, Radha Blank and so many more.”

Octavia also pointed to some of Redford’s biggest cinematic hits. “From Butch Cassidy to Sundance, he blended art and activism in ways few have,” she added. “His quiet strength will live in every frame he directed, every festival he championed and every artist he encouraged. Rest in peace, Mr. Redford. Your story changed us and your legacy will continue to inspire.”

Robert Munsch, Canadian children’s author, says he’s been approved for MAID

Robert Munsch, Canadian children’s author, says he’s been approved for MAID

by jummy84 September 16, 2025

Robert Munsch, the beloved Canadian children’s author of books like The Paper Bag Princess and Love You Forever, says he has been approved for medical assistance in dying (MAID) after he was diagnosed with dementia and Parkinson’s disease.

In a New York Times profile of Munsch, the author said that he applied for MAID — a practice that was legalized in 2016 — and his application was approved.

Munsch, 80, joked to the outlet that his application said, “Hello, Doc — come kill me! How much time do I have? Fifteen seconds!”

He said he had watched one of his brothers die slowly from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or Lou Gehrig’s disease, a nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord and gets worse over time.

“They kept him alive through all these interventions. I thought, ‘Let him die,’” Munsch said.

The author said he doesn’t want to “linger that way” and added that he thinks he will choose to go “when I start having real trouble talking and communicating. Then I’ll know.”

Under MAID laws in Canada, Munsch must be able to actively consent on the day of his death.

“I have to pick the moment when I can still ask for it,” Munsch explained to the Times.

Munsch told his wife, Ann, that if he misses the opportunity, she’s “stuck with me being a lump.”

The author, who has published more than 70 books over his career, said he doesn’t want to be here “when I can’t recognize the people I love.”

For now, he said his old stories have survived his diagnoses and remain with him.

“I notice that the stories are mostly free from the problems I have with speech,” he said.

In Canada, a person who wishes to receive MAID must meet eligibility criteria that include being at least 18 years of age, having decision-making capacity, being eligible for publicly funded health-care services and making a voluntary request that is not the result of external pressure.

The person must also have a serious and incurable illness, disease or disability, be in an advanced state of irreversible decline in capability and enduring and intolerable physical or psychological suffering that cannot be alleviated under conditions the person considers acceptable.

Munsch was inducted into the Order of Canada in 1999 and received a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame in 2009.

After the New York Times profile was published, Scholastic Canada shared a statement on Instagram, writing, “As proud publishers of Robert Munsch’s beloved books, we are grateful for all the stories he’s shared, including his own. We love you forever.”

“This New York Times article by Katie Engelhart offers a powerful glimpse into the man behind the stories, and we join those who have expressed profound gratitude for this chance to understand and connect with Robert Munsch in a new way,” the publishing company wrote.

“It’s an incredibly generous act to open up like this, and it reminds us, once again, why Robert’s work continues to touch many generations.”

US President Donald Trump has lead tributes to Robert Redford, saying that “there was nobody better” than the late Hollywood legend.

US President Donald Trump is among those to pay tribute to late actor Robert Redford

The iconic actor-and-director died at the age of 89 on Tuesday morning (16.09.25) at his home at Sundance in the mountains of Utah, and Trump has said Redford’s passing was “a good way to go”.

Speaking to Reuters, Trump, 79, said: “Well, it’s a good way to go, I guess.

“Robert Redford was great. He had a series of years where there was nobody better.”

When asked what his favourite film of Redford’s was, Trump said: “You have a lot of them. He made seven or eight great films.

“There was a period when he was the hottest.”

Redford was one of the biggest stars and most acclaimed actors in Hollywood, having starred in hits such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, All The President’s Men and The Sting.

As well as his movies, Redford also left his impact on the movie industry after he helped establish Utah’s annual Sundance Film Festival.

Hollywood has mourned Redford’s passing, with A Beautiful Mind director Ron Howard dubbing the late Oscar-winning actor as an “artistic gamechanger”.

On X, he wrote: ” RIP and thank you Robert Redford, a tremendously influential cultural figure for the creative choices made as an actor/producer/director and for launching the Sundance Film Festival which supercharged America’s Independent Film movement. Artistic Gamechanger.”

Meanwhile, Meryl Streep – who starred opposite Redford in 1985’s Out Of Africa and Lions For Lambs in 2007 – penned: “One of the lions has passed.

“Rest in peace my lovely friend.”

Author Stephen King has also reflected on the impact Redford had on the movie industry.

He wrote: “Robert Redford has passed away. He was part of a new and excited Hollywood in the 70s and 80s. Hard to believe he was 89.”

Star Trek icon William Shatner said: “Condolences to the family of Robert Redford.”

James Dreyfus heaped praise on Redford, dubbing him “truly legendary”.

He said: “RIP Robert Redford.

Terrific actor, brilliant actor. Truly legendary.”

Colman Domingo thanked Redford for his “everlasting impact” on the movie industry.

He wrote: “With love and admiration. Thank you Mr. Redford for your everlasting impact. Will be felt for generations. R.I.P.”

Marlee Matlin – the star of the Academy Award-winning 2021 picture CODA – shared a touching tribute to Redford, and said the movie had won its three honours thanks to its appearance at the Sundance Film Festival.

She penned: “Our film, CODA, came to the attention of everyone because of Sundance. And Sundance happened because of Robert Redford.

“A genius has passed. RIP Robert Redford.”

Emilia Clarke’s Brain Aneurysm

Emilia Clarke filmed battle scenes for Game of Thrones, but in 2019, she published an essay in The New Yorker titled “A Battle for My Life.”

Having a bad headache at the gym, “I reached the toilet, sank to my knees, and proceeded to be violently, voluminously ill,” the actress wrote. “Meanwhile, the pain—shooting, stabbing, constricting pain—was getting worse. At some level, I knew what was happening: my brain was damaged.”

She was taken to the hospital for a brain scan.

“The diagnosis was quick and ominous: a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening type of stroke, caused by bleeding into the space surrounding the brain,” the Emmy nominee added. “I’d had an aneurysm, an arterial rupture.”

Emilia had immediate surgery to seal the aneurysm, calling the pain “unbearable.” While she was recovering, she continued, she experienced aphasia and was “muttering nonsense.”

A week later, “the aphasia passed,” Emilia added, and she left the hospital a month after being admitted.

At a 2013 brain scan, she learned a growth “doubled in size” and that she needed surgery again.

“When they woke me, I was screaming in pain,” she wrote. “The procedure had failed. I had a massive bleed and the doctors made it plain that my chances of surviving were precarious if they didn’t operate again. This time they needed to access my brain in the old-fashioned way—through my skull.”

Thankfully, Emilia shared, she’s now “at a hundred per cent.”
