Twinkle Khanna, Kajol Face Backlash Over ‘Raat Gayi, Baat Gayi’ Comment On Infidelity

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

A recent episode of ‘Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle’ demonstrated the fine line between candid conversation and public controversy. A single, offhand comment by co-host Twinkle Khanna has ignited a significant firestorm online, turning a lighthearted discussion into a heated debate about infidelity, accountability, and the responsibilities of public figures.

The episode, which featured actress Janhvi Kapoor and filmmaker Karan Johar, ventured into the complex territory of relationships, specifically focusing on the nuances of emotional versus physical infidelity. As the panel navigated this sensitive topic, Khanna offered a concise, seemingly dismissive idiom to summarise a potential transgression: “Raat gayi, baat gayi” (What happened, happened, or more literally, “The night is gone, the matter is gone”).

*

While the comment may have been intended as a light, pragmatic quip, it was immediately perceived by a large segment of the audience as a dangerous trivialization of betrayal. The backlash was swift, with social media platforms becoming the primary arena for viewers to voice their disappointment and anger.

The core of the criticism centred on the phrase itself. “Raat gayi, baat gayi” is an idiom often used to suggest that past events, particularly indiscretions, should be forgotten with the light of a new day. Critics argued that applying this logic to infidelity is profoundly damaging. “It’s disheartening to hear such casual remarks about something as serious as infidelity,” one user commented on Instagram. Another X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, “This ‘move on’ culture is toxic. Cheating isn’t a simple ‘oops’ moment that you forget in the morning. It’s a fundamental breach of trust.”

Many reactions highlighted the perceived hypocrisy of such a statement coming from high-profile, successful women. “It’s easy to say ‘raat gayi, baat gayi’ when you live a life of privilege,” another user argued. “For ordinary people, betrayal can have devastating emotional and financial consequences.”

The backlash was not limited to anonymous viewers. Relationship experts and psychologists also weighed in on the cultural impact of such statements. Dr. Meera Sharma, a clinical psychologist specialising in relationship counselling, criticised the normalisation of such attitudes. “Dismissing cheating as something that can be easily overlooked undermines the trust that is fundamental to any relationship,” Dr. Sharma stated. “When public figures, who command significant influence, advocate for ‘sweeping it under the rug,’ it sends a harmful message. It invalidates the very real pain of the betrayed party and discourages the difficult but necessary work of addressing the breach.”

Adding a fascinating layer to the discussion was the clear generational divide highlighted by Janhvi Kapoor’s firm stance. In stark contrast to Khanna’s perceived flippancy, Kapoor was resolute. When pressed on the topic of cheating, her response was immediate and absolute: “No, the deal is broken.”

Kapoor’s perspective resonated powerfully with many younger viewers, who championed her clarity. Her comment was screenshotted and shared widely, hailed as a refreshing example of self-worth and boundary-setting. This juxtaposition framed the debate: a perceived older generation’s pragmatism (or cynicism) versus a younger generation’s demand for transparency and accountability. Kapoor’s “deal is broken” became a rallying cry for those who believe that fidelity is non-negotiable, a stark counterpoint to the “boys will be boys” or “it just happened” mentality that “raat gayi, baat gayi” seems to imply.

The incident has sparked a broader, necessary conversation about the role of celebrity platforms. While shows like ‘Two Much’ thrive on spontaneous, unfiltered dialogue, the controversy serves as a potent reminder of the weight their words carry. Khanna, an author and columnist known for her witty and often progressive “Mrs. Funnybones” persona, found herself accused of setting a poor example, betraying the very audience that looks to her for modern insights.

As the debate continues to unfold online, it remains to be seen whether Khanna or Kajol will address the criticism directly. For now, the episode of ‘Two Much’ has transcended typical celebrity chatter. It has become a poignant cultural case study, illustrating how a single remark, intended perhaps in jest, can tap into a deep societal fissure, exposing raw nerves and starkly different philosophies on love, trust, and the consequences of our actions.

Following the success of her debut film Saiyaara, Aneet Padda has been cast as the lead in Shakti Shalini, the sixth installment of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU). Fans first caught a glimpse of her character in the post-credits scene of Thamma, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. The scene introduced a mysterious woman in a white lehenga, floating mid-air in a dense forest, her long braid swaying in the wind. While her face wasn’t visible, viewers quickly speculated that it was Aneet, signaling her grand entry into the horror-comedy franchise.

Ayushmann Khurrana welcomed her to the MHCU via Instagram stories, writing, “Welcome to the MHCU @aneetpadda_ Punjabi aa gaye oye!! From one dreamer to another—keep chasing what you want. Nothing is impossible… so proud to see someone from Punjab making us all proud. Can’t wait to see you shine in Shakti Shalini! Onwards and upwards, Aneet.” The post garnered excitement among fans, celebrating Aneet’s addition to the popular franchise.

Ayushmann Khurrana Instagram Story

Initially, reports had suggested Kiara Advani might play the lead, but it was Aneet Padda, lauded for her screen presence and emotional depth in Saiyaara, who ultimately secured the role. In the film, she is introduced as “Shakti Shalini — the creator, the destroyer, and the mother of all.” Director Amar Kaushik shared that while developing the script, they realised a younger actor was needed, and Aneet’s performance in Saiyaara made her the perfect fit.

This marks Aneet’s second feature film, and anticipation is high as fans await her performance in the supernatural yet humorous universe of MHCU.

Srman Jain On Acting & Directing

Srman Jain On Stepping Behind The Camera As Director; Says, “It Has Taught Me More Than I Expected”

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

From charming audiences with his roles in Adaalat, Saas Bina Sasural, Dadagiri, Comedy Classes, Mere Angne Mein and Trideviyaan, Srman Jain, widely recognized for his performances on television, has seamlessly expanded his creative horizons by stepping behind the camera as a director. For him, acting and directing are not separate paths, but intertwined avenues that enrich each other.

Srman Jain On Acting & Directing

“My journey from acting to directing has been organic,” Srman explains. “Having been in front of the camera, I understand the nuances of performance and the importance of actor-director collaboration. This insight helps me create a comfortable environment for actors, ensuring authentic performances. Conversely, directing has honed my storytelling skills, allowing me to visualize scenes more effectively. Each role I play informs my direction, and each project I direct enhances my acting.”

Balancing the responsibilities of acting and directing in the same project is a challenge, but one that Srman embraces with preparation and teamwork. “Before shooting, I discuss the scene thoroughly with my co-director and the team, ensuring everyone is aligned,” he says. “During the shoot, I rely on my team to manage the technical aspects, allowing me to focus on my performance. This collaboration ensures that both acting and directing receive the attention they deserve.”

When asked whether directing or acting is more challenging, Srman is candid. “Both roles come with their unique demands. As a director, the responsibility to oversee the entire project and ensure the vision is realized can be overwhelming. As an actor, delving deep into a character’s psyche and delivering a compelling performance is equally demanding. But the satisfaction of seeing a project come to life, whether through acting or directing, makes it all worthwhile.”

Directing has also transformed Srman’s understanding of storytelling and collaboration. “Every department, from cinematography to sound, plays a crucial role in telling a story,” he says. “I’ve learned to trust my team and value their input, understanding that a successful project is the result of collective effort. This perspective has enriched my approach to acting, making me more attuned to the overall vision of a project.”

For Srman Jain, creativity is not limited to one role. Acting informs his direction, direction sharpens his acting, and together they form a holistic journey of storytelling, collaboration, and continuous learning.

‘It’s far more complex..’: Deepika Padukone’s old take on infidelity goes viral amid Twinkle Khanna-Kajol’s Two Much row

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

The internet’s got a new bone to chew on with the latest episode of Kajol and Twinkle Khanna’s celebrity talk show, Two Much . What began as a playful conversation quickly turned into controversy after the stars debated emotional versus physical cheating. The episode, which featured Karan Johar and Janhvi Kapoor alongside the hosts, has since sparked heated discussions online about modern relationships and moral boundaries.

Deepika Padukone; Karan Johar, Kajol and Twinkle Khanna on Two Much

What happened?

During a This or That segment, Twinkle asked whether love or compatibility mattered more in a marriage. While she and Janhvi argued in favour of love, Kajol firmly disagreed, insisting that no relationship could survive without compatibility. But the chat took a divisive turn when the topic shifted to infidelity.

When Twinkle posed whether emotional cheating was worse than physical, Janhvi was clear that both were unacceptable and that physical infidelity would be a deal breaker. Twinkle, however, playfully dismissed the idea, saying, “Raat gayi baat gayi.” Kajol and Karan seemed to echo her sentiment, hinting at a more forgiving approach toward physical betrayal.

“It’s far more complex than just..”

As social media users dissected the conversation, an old video of Deepika Padukone began circulating. In the Curly Tales roundtable, the actor revealed her take on cheating. In the old clip, she said, “A lot of times people make the choices that they do for various reasons and I think that we’re conditioned to think that infidelity is sort of a sin. But for example, if you were to put yourself in the shoes of a therapist or a counsellor and you have to actually understand why that person did what they did…I think you start looking at it very differently. Now this is not to say that I’m okay with it or I’m not okay with it. I’m just saying that it’s far more complex than just saying that I’m okay with it or not. There’s just far too many factors that come into play when it comes to this.”

While Deepika’s words were shared years ago, the timing of the resurfaced clip has reignited debate online, with netizens weighing in on the morality and modern perception of infidelity. One user wrote, “How hard is it to say cheating is bad? It is not right. It should be a deal breaker, but for some, it is not. That’s it.” Another commented, “In an industry where they are always surrounded by attractive people, they have tried to normalise this behaviour; and have started keeping emotional commitment at a pedestal. But I feel until n unless its an open marriage, no kind of cheating should be tried to justified.” A third added, “I think celebs say cheating is complicated because their lives are so public and messy — constant travel, attention, pressure, and temptation. But honestly, it’s not that complicated. If you respect your partner, you don’t cheat. The fame just gives them more excuses.”

As social media continues to debate what defines loyalty and forgiveness, Deepika’s resurfaced take has added another layer to the ongoing conversation. What do you think about this?

Ever since Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh introduced their daughter Dua to the world, her adorable pictures have taken social media by storm. Fans have been showering love on the little one, fondly calling her “DeepVeer’s princess.” Amid all the excitement, social media influencer Shreyashi Debnath Gupta recently made headlines after claiming that her daughter looks strikingly similar to Dua.

Taking to Instagram, Shreyashi shared a collage featuring her husband, their daughter Daisy, and a photo of Deepika and Ranveer with Dua. Alongside the image, she wrote, “How can they look so much similar? For a moment, I truly thought it was my Daisy! Anyone else see the resemblance?” Her post quickly drew attention, sparking mixed reactions among netizens.

Some users agreed with Shreyashi’s observation, noting that the two babies do appear quite alike. One comment read, “Same here! When Deepika and Ranveer posted those pictures, my first impression was that Dua looked just like Aura… ”

However, others criticized the influencer for allegedly seeking attention. “Why do people do such things only to gain reach? Both are very cute but not similar,” one user commented. Another added, “There’s no similarity between them. Every child is beautiful in their own way—why compare your baby to a celebrity’s?”

Deepika and Ranveer revealed Dua’s face for the first time during Diwali, sharing the heartwarming family photos on Instagram with the caption, “दीपावली की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएँ.” In the pictures, Ranveer looked elegant in a beige kurta-pyjama with a matching jacket, while Deepika twinned in maroon with her daughter, wearing a traditional gown-suit paired with statement jewellery.

Kritika Kamra Birthday Special: 5 Roles That Prove That Mitron Actress Aces Female-Forward Narratives

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

On her birthday, we celebrate the powerhouse performer Kritika Kamra, an actress who continues to redefine how women are portrayed on screen. From her television beginnings to bold, layered roles in films and OTT projects, Kritika has consistently chosen stories that put women at the center complex, independent, and unapologetically real. Here’s a look at five standout roles that underline why Kritika Kamra is one of the strongest voices in female-forward storytelling today.

Bheed

In Anubhav Sinha’s Bheed, Kritika Kamra stepped into a gritty, socially charged narrative that mirrored India’s harsh lockdown realities. Her performance as a journalist brought sensitivity and courage to the forefront — a woman unafraid to question systems, yet deeply empathetic towards the suffering of common people. Kritika’s character wasn’t just a witness to injustice; she became the moral compass of the story, showing how empathy and truth-telling are acts of rebellion.

    Hush Hush

Amazon Prime Video’s Hush Hush showcased Kritika in a darker, psychological thriller setting. Amidst a star-studded ensemble, she held her own as Dolly Dalal, a woman trapped in societal expectations, grappling with her identity, and ultimately reclaiming her agency. Kritika brought both vulnerability and quiet strength to the role, embodying the story’s central theme that every woman hides a truth, and it’s her choice when and how to reveal it.

      Bambai Meri Jaan

In the crime-drama Bambai Meri Jaan, Kritika portrayed Habiba Kadri, a character that stood out in a world dominated by men and power struggles. As the daughter of a gangster, she brought ferocity and intelligence to the role, proving that she wasn’t a mere bystander to her family’s legacy but an active force within it. Kritika infused Habiba with quiet defiance showing how strength isn’t always loud, but deeply rooted in resilience and conviction.

        Gyaarah Gyaarah

In Gyaarah Gyaarah, Kritika delved into the world of mystery and time travel, a genre rarely explored by female leads in Indian storytelling. Her character was cerebral, intuitive, and emotionally layered, balancing intellect with heart. Kritika’s performance in this Arjun Varain Singh directorial was yet another reminder of her knack for choosing narratives where women lead from the front, driving the plot rather than orbiting around it.

          Saare Jahan Se Accha

In Saare Jahan Se Accha, Kritika continues her streak of portraying strong, self-reliant women. While details of her character remain under wraps, early buzz suggests another nuanced performance that celebrates individuality and emotional strength. Whether it’s navigating relationships, ambition, or identity, Kritika ensures her characters reflect the modern woman’s journey layered, flawed, but always fearless.

₹93 crore; beats Bhool Chuk Maaf”>

Thamma worldwide box office collection day 4: Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s film is inching close to the ₹100 crore mark.

Thamma worldwide box office collection day 4: Even as Thamma is facing some slowdown at the box office over the weekdays, the Maddock Films horror comedy continues to gallop towards the ₹100-crore mark worldwide. After an impressive start at the domestic box office, the film picked up pace overseas too on Thursday and Friday, solidifying its chances of a good lifetime haul.

Thamma worldwide box office collection day 4: Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna star in this horror comedy.

Thamma worldwide box office update

Thamma, a vampire story, earned ₹65.15 crore net ( ₹78.20 crore gross) in India over the first four days of its release. This included a more-than-impressive ₹24 crore start on Diwali, followed by a continuous decline over the next three weekdays. To its credit, the film managed to avoid too large a drop in collections on any of those days, limiting the dips to 25% or under. But even then, its daily collection was down to ₹9.55 crore net by Friday.

However, overseas, the film reversed the trend. In the first two days of release, Thamma barely managed to scratch the surface of overseas collections as it did not get the benefit of a festive release outside India (Diwali is not a holiday in most major international markets). But as the weekend arrived, Thamma picked up pace. It has now earned almost $1.6 million in the overseas territories in four days, and is promising to go past the $3 million mark in the first week itself.

This takes Thamma’s worldwide collection after four days to an impressive ₹93 crore. On Friday, it surpassed the lifetime collection of Maddock’s recent romantic comedy Bhool Chuk Maaf, which ended its run at ₹89 crore worldwide. The film is now set to cross the ₹100 crore mark on Saturday.

All about Thamma

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Thamma is the story of a journalist (Ayushmann Khurrana) who gets caught up in the power struggle of vampires (Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui). The film is part of the larger Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, and is hence connected to the Stree films, Bhediya, and Munjya. It has been praised for its humour, visual effects, and starry cameos.
