Former Los Angeles Lakers center Elden Campbell spent more than a decade in the NBA, building a career that included nearly nine seasons in Los Angeles and a championship run with the Detroit Pistons. Campbell died on December 2, 2025, at age 57. As of now, an official cause of death has not been publicly released.

Following news of his death, former teammate Magic Johnson remembered him as both a close friend and a gifted player. In a post shared on December 3, 2025, Johnson described Campbell as a “gentle soul” while recalling their time together on the Lakers.

“I just received devastating news that my former Lakers teammate and friend Elden Campbell has passed away. He was such a gentle soul. As a basketball player, he was extremely athletic. I loved throwing lobs to Elden because he could jump out the gym and had so much talent! Cookie and I are praying for his family and Lakers Nation as they mourn during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Big E!”

Who Was Elden Campbell?

Campbell was an American professional basketball player who spent 15 seasons in the NBA from 1990 to 2005. He was born on July 23, 1968, in Los Angeles, California, and played college basketball at Clemson Tigers, where he became the school’s all-time leading scorer. The school wrote in a post on Instagram, “We mourn the loss of Elden Campbell, our all-time leading scorer, All-American and three-time All-ACC player, who passed away at the age of 57.”

Drafted 27th overall by Los Angeles Lakers in the 1990 NBA Draft, he spent the better part of a decade with them before stints with other teams — ultimately winning an NBA championship with Detroit Pistons in 2004.

“Beyond his contributions on the court, Elden’s calm presence and warm personality made him beloved by teammates, fans, and the community alike,” the Pistons said in a statement on December 3, 2025. “Our hearts and prayers are with Elden’s family and friends during this difficult time.”

Now in her third year at the helm of Hervé Léger, Michelle Ochs is on a mission to bring the brand into the modern age. It’s a tall order: how does one modernize something as singular as the bandage dress, something so associated with the aughts, while still propelling the brand forward? “I want to say, ‘Not your mother’s Hervé,’” she said. “But still the bandage dress.”

This season, Ochs is experimenting with house codes, pushing the limits of how far the bandage will go. Take, for instance, her interpretation of a black midi dress. The bias-cut satin and draped cowl neck is a far cry from the bodycon bandage dresses that Kim Kardashian wore to the clubs, but a band of fabric across the collarbone connecting the spaghetti straps stands in for the signature bandage. An even more extreme departure: a drapey, asymmetrical bubblegum pink dress, whose fitted, ruched waistline mimics the bandage motif. “What I love playing on with this collection [is] the ability now to give her some movement and to have people think of us for more than just that,” Ochs said. “You’re going to get the sensibility and aesthetic of Hervé, [but] everything doesn’t have to be bandage.”

Even with these experimentations, the awooga sex appeal of the naughties is at the forefront of the collection: a red-hot halter, a white minidress with a cleavage-baring mesh insert, and a teal maxi with perforated seams fulfill the bandage dress brief. Still, there are more faithful interpretations that manage to step outside of the classic, waist-snatching, boob-lifting Hervé Léger paradigm. Lace is a common motif in the pre-fall lineup, with Ochs presenting it in horizontal layers like a bandage dress. “This was a technique that we found in the archives, something that we really loved,” she said.

While Hervé Léger has cornered its market, Ochs’s slow-but-steady expansion begs the question: how does a brand known for one thing break out of its confines? “Quality is king…” she said, before correcting herself, “…queen.” “The look can be duplicated, but it can’t be replicated. An Hervé Léger, you know when you have it on.”

Why is sleep so crucial for immunity

“You know the key to your immune system? And that key is sleep. Poor sleep weakens your immunity. When your sleep is disturbed, your body becomes more susceptible to fatigue, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, and many other illnesses,” Dr Krishna explains.

He adds, “Our body has the natural ability to fight diseases, but we don’t use it properly. This is because during sleep time, we are often glued to our phones. To reduce inflammation in our body, we need proper sleep.”

How to strengthen your immunity through sleep

Dr Krishna further explains the science behind it, “When we stay awake, the hormone melatonin, which is the sleep hormone, doesn’t get a chance to work. And this is why our immune system cannot recharge. To strengthen our immunity, we need to let our system recharge, and proper sleep is essential for that.”

He advises prioritising consistent, uninterrupted sleep to allow the body to heal, recharge, and maintain a strong defence against illnesses.

HBO‘s upcoming “Harry Potter” series is shaping up to be “such a delightful adaptation” of J.K. Rowling’s books, according to HBO Max head of original content Sarah Aubrey.

Speaking on a panel at Content London on Wednesday, Aubrey revealed that she is visiting the set of the series tomorrow. “I just keep thinking, it’s such a delightful adaptation of the books,” she teased. “And I think when people watch it, they [will] think, ‘These are the books.’”

Aubrey added that the series is a great representation of the U.K. industry as a whole. “It’s created by a British writer, it’s directed by a British filmmaker and its craftspeople are the best that this country has to offer,” she said. “I’m so excited for everyone to see it.”

Aubrey’s keynote at Content London came just hours after HBO Max announced a Jan. 13 launch date for the streamer in territories including Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein. During her presentation, Aubrey spoke about the original content HBO Max has in the pipeline in those countries, including German production “4 Blocks Zero,” which she called a “fantastic, gritty thriller,” and Marco Bellocchio’s Italian series “Portobello,” which she said “swept the festival circuit.”

UK events industry unites 10 major venues for largest ever ‘One Day at Christmas’ to combat loneliness

The UK events and exhibitions industry is set to deliver its most ambitious collective social initiative yet, with One Day at Christmas expanding to 10 of the UK’s largest event venues on Friday, December 5th, 2025. The campaign brings the industry together to host a festive Christmas dinner and community celebration for more than 3,500 vulnerable and isolated people.

The 2025 event marks a significant milestone, welcoming two major new venues: P&J Live, Aberdeen, and Tobacco Dock, London, joining eight other iconic locations nationwide.

Further amplifying the campaign’s reach, much-loved broadcaster and host of Good Morning Britain, Richard Madeley, has officially lent his support, hosting the central event at Excel London. His involvement underscores the national importance of the initiative, which has already served over 10,000 meals since its inception in 2017.

Julian Agostini, founder of One Day at Christmas, stated: “This event is the ultimate showcase of the heart and capability of the UK events industry. When we say no one should feel alone at Christmas, we mean it. Expanding to 10 major venues, from Aberdeen to London, demonstrates the sheer cooperation and determination of the exhibitions sector to give back.”

One Day at Christmas is unique because it is entirely powered by the events and exhibitions community. Venues donate their space, caterers donate food, and hundreds of volunteers—staffed by the industry—donate their time. Donations are made from all corners of the industry to make this a very special day. This collective effort is aimed at tackling the UK’s loneliness epidemic, which affects millions of adults.
