Sarah, Duchess of York has been dropped as a patron of several charities following the emergence of an email sent to Jeffrey Epstein.
Several charities have cut ties with the Duchess of York
The 65-year-old duchess has been dropped as a patron of The Teenage Cancer Trust, the British Heart Foundation, children’s hospice Julia’s House, The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, the Children’s Literacy Charity, and Prevent Breast Cancer, after it was revealed that she referred to Epstein as a “supreme friend” back in 2011.
Nadim and Tanya Ednan-Laperouse, founders of The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, said in a statement: “Sarah Ferguson has not been actively involved with the charity for some years. She was a patron but, in the light of the recent revelations, we have taken the decision that it would be inappropriate for her to continue to be associated with the charity. We would like to thank her for her kindness and support in the past.”
Julia’s House said: “Following the information shared this weekend on the Duchess of York’s correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein, Julia’s House has taken the decision that it would be inappropriate for her to continue as a patron of the charity.
“We have advised the Duchess of York of this decision and thank her for her past support.”
Elsewhere, Prevent Breast Cancer has confirmed that it’s ended its association with the duchess.
The charity added: “We have advised her of this decision and thank her for her past support.”
The Duchess described Epstein as a “steadfast, generous and supreme friend” to her in an April sent in April 2011. However, her spokesperson has insisted that she only wrote the note because Epstein – a former financier and child sex offender – had threatened to sue her.
The spokesperson said in a statement: “The duchess spoke of her regret about her association with Epstein many years ago, and as they have always been, her first thoughts are with his victims.
“Like many people, she was taken in by his lies.
“As soon as she was aware of the extent of the allegations against him, she not only cut off contact but condemned him publicly, to the extent that he then threatened to sue her for defamation for associating him with paedophilia.
“She does not resile from anything she said then.
“This email was sent in the context of advice the duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats.”

Between her engagement and album announcements, Taylor Swift has been full of surprises these past couple of months. But will she shock fans by attending the Kansas City Chiefs game against the New York Giants on September 21?
The Kansas City Chiefs are scheduled to take on the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium at 8:30pm ET, and many fans are wondering if/when the team’s most famous WAG will make an appearance. Though Swift brought an army of friends to cheer on Travis Kelce from one of the stadium’s VIP suite back in 2023, the pop star did not attend any of last year’s regular season away games due to her Eras Tour schedule and alleged security concerns. She did, however, make it to all but one of her partner’s home games.
It remains to be seen if Swift will attend some of her fiancé’s away games now that she’s wrapped up her world tour. While she may not be flying all over the world, the album rollout for The Life of a Showgirl might conflict with some of Kelce’s games—not to mention Selena Gomez’s upcoming wedding to Benny Blanco, which is rumored to take place by the end this month.
If Taylor Swift attends the Kansas City Chiefs game against the New York Giants on September 21, it would mark her first regular season away game in over a year. Of course, there’s already been a break in Swift’s attendance pattern in 2025.
As expected, Swift skipped the Chief’s opening game in Brazil, but she also appeared to miss the first half of their home game on September 14. According to some reports, Swift eventually snuck into Arrowhead Stadium behind a large rolling screen midway through the game and People later confirmed her attendance.
The life of a showgirl is anything but predictable, so we’ll just have to wait and see if Taylor Swift switches things up again tonight.
