Shivangi Verma Calls Yeh Hai Sanak ‘Psychological Maze’

Actress Shivangi Verma is set to surprise audiences in her new web series Yeh Hai Sanak, a psychological thriller that promises to be as unpredictable as it is gripping opposite actor Sharad Malhotra.

Shivangi Verma Calls Yeh Hai Sanak A ‘Psychological Maze’

Talking about what drew her to the story, Shivangi shared, “The moment I heard the concept, I knew this wasn’t just another story…it was a psychological maze. Yeh Hai Sanak had the kind of layers that even while reading I couldn’t predict what’s coming next. That’s the thrill that made me say yes.”

The title itself hints at intrigue, and for Shivangi, it captures the true essence of the show. She said, “For me…it’s suspense wrapped inside suspense wrapped again in another suspense. Just when you think you’ve figured it out…the show flips the game. It’s madness but of the clever kind,”.

For an actor known largely for television, the shift to OTT has been refreshing. “Television often gives you black or white shades but here I live in the greys. My character isn’t predictable, you’ll never know if I’m two steps ahead or ten. That unpredictability is my biggest shift from TV,” she explained.

Shivangi also described her character in the series as one who thrives on the mind games. “It’s the mind…plays with situations and people so smoothly that till the very last moment nobody can tell what the next move is,” she revealed. Preparing for the role, she admitted, was more mental than physical. “I had to train myself to think five steps ahead while delivering lines that feel natural. The art was in keeping the suspense alive even in silence,” she said.

Shivangi Verma On Her Excitement And Working With The Team

Balancing excitement with challenge was key to her performance. “The excitement was in the unpredictability…every script reading felt like a puzzle. The challenge was to never reveal too much…to keep the audience constantly guessing. To me, that balance is the true test of an actor,” she added.

Working with the team was another highlight for her. “The team was brilliant because they trusted the madness of the script. My most memorable moments were when even the crew who knew the script would get shocked watching us perform! That’s when you know the show is working. Working with Sharad was absolutely fun.”

She further added, “I remember when we did the scenes where we have to hit people and we are getting punched at the same time so being in the character and laughing from inside was so much fun and also with Ankit when the weather was crazy, and still, we need to perform as if it was not raining (laughs). These moments will be cherished. I’ll always remember,”.

Some moments also pushed her beyond her comfort zone. “Yes, there was a scene where I had to mask about six emotions in one expression because my character couldn’t let anyone see what he was really feeling. It taught me that acting isn’t always about showing, it’s also about hiding,” she shared.

For Shivangi, OTT has transformed the craft itself. “Definitely. OTT gives us the liberty to explore complexity. You don’t need to spoon feed the audience…they love decoding,” she pointed out.

About Yeh Hai Sanak

As for what will hook audiences to Yeh Hai Sanak, she said, “The unpredictability and the suspense…Viewers love to play detective but here just when they think they’ve solved the riddle the story flips again. That’s the hook, it’s suspense within suspense within suspense all the till the end.”

What started as a casual conversation quickly turned into one of the most intense confrontations of Bigg Boss 19 so far. It began when Baseer Ali asked Gaurav Khanna a seemingly simple question: “Are you happy with your journey in these four weeks?” Instead of keeping things light, the conversation took a sharp turn when Gaurav referenced Baseer’s earlier controversial comment about the “quality of contestants being shit.”

The tension escalated when Kunickaa Sadanand entered the conversation, asking Gaurav about her journey. He called it “amazing,” prompting Kunickaa to admit she had been trying to please everyone but felt she was failing at it.

However, the real showdown was between Baseer and Gaurav. Gaurav accused Baseer of being judgmental, to which Baseer retaliated by calling out Gaurav’s lack of performance. “Should I give you some advice?” Baseer asked sarcastically, adding, “You don’t have the guts to speak in front of everyone.” Kunickaa attempted to de-escalate the situation, reminding Gaurav, “Whatever happens in WKV, leave it there.” But things got worse when their argument shifted to house duties.

Baseer is cutting onions and suddenly things are spicy between him and Gaurav.

Gaurav had earlier pointed out that the bathroom wasn’t clean, leading Baseer to defend the team’s efforts. This led to more taunts. Gaurav said mockingly, “Thank you so much, we’re lucky we’re working with you on this show.” Baseer fired back, “I’ll teach you how to perform, I’ll teach you how to take risks.”

EXCLUSIVE: Traitors’ Fame Sufi Motiwala Comments On People Claiming Reality Shows Are ScriptedEXCLUSIVE: Traitors’ Fame Sufi Motiwala Comments On People Claiming Reality Shows Are Scripted; States, “Koi Aake Yeh Nahi Bolta Gaali Do”

Sufi Motiwala’s journey took a bold step forward with his appearance in the debut show Traitors, where he showcased his dynamic personality and creative flair. Since then, he has continued to build his voice as a critic and creator in the fashion space. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Sufi opened up about why he signed ‘Traitors’ and shared with us something that nobody knows about reality shows.

Talking about why he signed a reality show, Sufi said, “When you sign a reality show, you have to do it with the awareness that the whole point is for people to talk about you. That’s why I find it very duplicitous when people sign projects, go through with them, and then later behave like victims — blaming it on the edit and whatnot. I think that’s just bogus.”

He continued, “The reason I signed a reality show was because I wanted people to watch me, talk about me, follow me, and get in tune with my journey. Otherwise, why the hell would you even sign it? That’s just part of the process, and you have to live it. The key to a reality show is to live it — the friendships you make, the enemies you make, everything. You just have to see it through, and eventually, it all fades away. Honestly, I don’t think people even remember anything in the long run.”

When asked about what is the one thing that people don’t know about reality shows, Sufi replied, “On reality shows, people always keep claiming “scripted, scripted, scripted,” just because the show follows a certain plotline. But here’s the thing, most captivating reality shows cannot be scripted, because they are controlled. There’s a difference between being scripted and being controlled. “

He went on to explain further by saying, “Controlled meaning ki uss ghar mein voh aise situations create karte karte hai, aise haalat create karte hai, aise statements bulwaate hai jisse bhasad mache ya reaction mile ya plot aage badhe. but whatever people are doing, they’re doing out of their own volition, their own thinking, their own zubaan, that’s all them. “

Sufi ends it by saying, “Koi aake yeh nahi bol raha ki isko gaali do, show pe sab jo bhi kar rhe hai khudh hi se kar rhe hai, bas situations production create kar raha hai”

‘Yeh 9 to 5 ka kaam nahi hai’: Adivi Sesh reacts to Deepika Padukone, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s row over 8-hr shift in films

Actor Adivi Sesh has opened up about his opinion on Deepika Padukone’s reported demand for an 8-hour shift and then her exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit over the latter’s refusal. Speaking with Pinkvilla, Adivi said that what is acceptable for an actor and a director is “what is agreed upon between them.” Talking about how the working hours are different, Adivi said that “it is not a 9-5 job.”

Adivi Sesh talked about Deepika Padukone and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 8-hour shift row.

Adivi Sesh on Deepika, Vanga 8-hour shift row

Adivi said that there aren’t any rules per se when it comes to work timings in cinema. “What is agreed upon between a filmmaker and his actors is the only thing that matters. There is no rule per se. Kyuki film 12 ghante banate hai, 18 ghante banate, 6 ghante banate, marzi. Oversimplify kar rahe hai agar bol rahe hai ki 8 ghante, 6 ghante. Yeh 9 to 5 ka kaam nahi hai (Because film is made for 12 hours, 8 hours, 6 hours, it is their wish. It is being oversimplified if you are saying that work needs to be 8-6 hours. This is not 9 to 5 work),” he said.

Adivi on Deepika’s demand as a new mother

The actor also responded when told that Deepika’s demand was because of her motherhood. “As far as I am concerned, I think it’s entirely based on the agreement between the filmmaker and the actor. Practically, it will not work if they have to shoot. If 20 more days get added to the schedule and the budget is not there, how do they accommodate it? I think whatever it should be, it should be agreed upon beforehand. Motherhood or otherwise,” he added.

About Deepkia, Vanga row on working hours

Earlier this year, Deepika’s exit from Spirit led to a debate about work-life balance. Several reports had emerged saying that Sandeep Reddy Vanga rejected some of her demands, including an 8-hour shift, a share in the film’s profits, and not speaking her lines in Telugu. Actor Triptii Dimri replaced Deepika in Spirit. She will be seen alongside Prabhas.

Deepika then joined filmmaker Atlee for a sci-fi film. It will star Allu Arjun. Produced by Sun Pictures, it is tentatively titled AA22 x A6.

Adivi’s upcoming movies

Fans will see Adivi with Mrunal Thakur in Shaneil Deo’s Dacoit. The film, which also stars Anurag Kashyap, is being shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu.

Adivi also has G2 with Emraan Hashmi. The Telugu drama, which also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, will hit the theatres on May 1, 2026. Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi made his debut as a director with the movie. Murali Sharma, Supriya Yarlagadda, and Madhu Shalini are also a part of G2.
