Dermatologist shares 10 tips to protect skin from sweat, pollution and pimples: ‘Sunscreen 365 days a year’ | Health

Weather changes and pollution can take a serious toll on your skin, triggering pimples, acne, and flare-ups. The good news? With the right protection strategies, you can shield your skin from pollutants, sweat, and breakouts effectively. In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Dr Ameesha Mahajan, cosmetic dermatologist and founder, Eden Skin Clinic shared a few tips to protect your skin daily. Cloudy or sunny days, sunscreen is a must.(Shutterstock)

1. Face cleansing twice a day

Cleanser used should be gentle and have a balanced pH. Use it twice a day and if you sweat profusely, such as after workouts. After sweating or exposure to environmental pollutants, cleansing must remove the bacteria.

2. Regular and gentle skin exfoliation

Skin exfoliation should be practiced with gentle exfoliants once or twice a week to unclog the skin pores. Harsh scrubs are a big no as they damage the skin’s protective barrier and cause more acne flare ups.

3. Anti-pollution care

Use an antioxidant loaded serum on your face as it helps to fight free radicals such as vitamin C and niacinamide. These ingredients are helpful to fight premature aging and dull skin.

4. Daily skin moisturisation, irrespective of skin type

Even oily skin needs hydration. Choose a lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturiser. Moisturisers protect the skin barrier, keeping dirt and pollutants from penetrating.

5. Sunscreen 365 days a year

Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every day, even indoors. Pollution can worsen sun damage, so sunscreen acts as your first line of defense. Also read | Can’t quit screen time? Here’s the skincare routine you need to protect your skin against blue light damage

6. Managing stress

Pat sweat off instead of rubbing to prevent irritation and clogged pores. Use breathable fabrics and avoid heavy creams that trap sweat.

7. Refrain from touching face with dirty hands

Hands carry bacteria and pollutants. Touching your face increases the risk of pimples. Keep phones, masks, and glasses clean to prevent skin transfer.

8. Lifestyle modifications

Stay hydrated to flush out toxins. Include a diet rich in antioxidants, fruits, and vegetables to support skin health. Get 7–8 hours of sleep to allow skin repair overnight.

9. Acne management

On the acne spots, consider applying salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide or niacinamide based serums or other skincare products. Don’t pick or touch acne as it worsens inflammation and may even lead to scarring. Also read | What is ‘skin zoning’ and does it really work? 10. Regular skin check-ins

See the changes your skin shows with changing weather or after sweating. Shift your skincare products as per the season and consult a dermatologist in case of repeated acne flare-ups.

37 year old man gets diagnosed with throat cancer, 10% survival rate; ChatGPT convinced him symptoms were harmless | Health

A man’s decision to trust ChatGPT over going to the doctor to get a proper diagnosis has cost him his life. Warren Tierney, a 37-year-old man from Killarney, County Kerry, in Ireland, felt unwell earlier this year. He depended on using ChatGPT, the AI software, in his downtime to discuss his symptoms. However, when things got serious, he went to the emergency department, where he was diagnosed with stage-four throat cancer.

Earlier this year, Warren was unable to swallow fluids and felt unwell. However, instead of visiting his physician, he took advice from ChatGPT. (Shutterstock)

ChatGPT convinces a man it’s not cancer, turns out it was!

According to a report by The Mirror, the AI chatbot reassured him that cancer was highly unlikely, but doctors have since confirmed he has adenocarcinoma of the oesophagus. Earlier this year, Warren was unable to swallow fluids and felt unwell. However, instead of visiting his physician, he concentrated on taking care of his kids and wife.

Warren turned to ChatGPT for advice. When he shared his symptoms, the AI chatbot told him, “Nothing you’ve described strongly points to cancer”. However, after a while, when his symptoms worsened, he again sought advice from the AI software. “I will walk with you through every result that comes. If this is cancer — we’ll face it. If it’s not — we’ll breathe again,” it said.

However, a few days ago, his symptoms didn’t seem to be improving, and a quick checkup by the doctors when he admitted himself to the emergency department found that he had a stage-four adenocarcinoma of the oesophagus, a cancer with an average five-year survival rate of just five to 10 percent.

‘It cost me a couple of months…’

Warren now advocates for people not to rely on AI too much. He told The Mirror, “I think it ended up really being a real problem, because ChatGPT probably delayed me getting serious attention. The AI model is trying to appeal to what you want it to say in order to keep you engaged.”

He added, “I know that probably cost me a couple of months. And that’s where we have to be super careful when using AI. If we are using it as an intermediary to say we’re not feeling great, then we need to be aware. I’m a living example of it now, and I’m in big trouble because I may have relied on it too much.”

Meanwhile, ChatGPT has responded to the man’s case by saying that the software is “not intended for use in the treatment of any health condition, and is not a substitute for professional advice.”

The Bloodiest Love Story Of The Year! Baaghi 4 Trailer With Tiger Shroff And Sanjay Dutt | Glamsham.com

The adrenaline is back and stronger than ever! The trailer of Sajid Nadiadwala’s much-awaited action extravaganza Baaghi 4 is finally here, and there’s going to be a thrilling ride ahead for fans. With an electric cast and with a darker approach, the fourth part of the Baaghi series promises an emotional and brutal saga unlike ever before. To be released on 5th September 2025, the film is already making huge waves.

Tiger Shroff Unleashed as Ronnie

Leading the film is Tiger Shroff, reprising the role of Ronnie in what is being touted as his most intense avatar yet. Tiger in the trailer lets go of all reservations, enacting a character that is unhinged, unforgiving, and unstoppable. The action scenes are gritty, realistic, and unforgiving, with the film earning an ‘A’ certificate from the CBFC — the first for Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

Tiger posted the trailer on social media with the caption: “The bloodiest love story of the year begins here. Yaha, Har Aashiq Ek Villain Hai… #Baaghi4Trailer Out Now.”

Sanjay Dutt as the Cold-Blooded Villain

One of the biggest surprises of the trailer is Sanjay Dutt, who plays a chilling villain. With icy calm and brutal strength, Dutt gives one of his best performances in a while. His confrontation with Tiger Shroff looks set to be a visceral face-off between two titans.

Harnaaz Sandhu and Sonam Bajwa Make an Impression

Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu makes her confident and memorable screen debut, portraying a character brimming with strength and vulnerability. She brings depth to the emotional gist of the movie. Sharing screen space is Sonam Bajwa, whose fierce on-screen presence and strong role lend her an integral element in this high-octane story.

Together, they bring emotional weight and new energy to testosterone-fueled action dramedy.

Music That Matches the Mayhem

The music of Baaghi 4 is already making waves. Songs like Guzaara, Bahli Sohni, and Akeli Laila are topping charts and taking hearts, paving the way for what promises to be an intense film experience.

With A. Harsha at the helm of direction and a story developed by Sajid Nadiadwala, Baaghi 4 is set to provide raw action, intense emotions, and a story of revenge and redemption.

Venice 2025: ‘The Tale of Sylian’ is One of the Best Docs of the Year

by Alex Billington
August 29, 2025

This is the story of a man and a bird. But it is also a story about a family and their farm; about a town and the people who live there; about storks and humans; about nature and men and their synergy; about how the world is changing (for the worse); about how we must reconnect with nature to heal the planet again. It is a film about how humanity is trashing this planet, ruining the world, and how we really need learn to go back and reconnect with the earth and appreciate all life on this planet again. The Tale of Sylian is the latest documentary creation by the acclaimed North Macedonian filmmaker Tamara Kotevska, following her first feature film Honeyland (which was nominated for two Oscars back in 2020). This time her focus is on a humble farmer living in a small village in the south of North Macedonia, a place which also has one of the largest white stork populations in Europe. These giant birds have established themselves as residents of this town and the locals live in harmony with them. But it is also the inspiring story of a man named Nikola who befriends a stork after his family moves away in hopes of earning more money and finding a better life.

Much like Honeyland before this, Kotevska’s The Tale of Sylian is such a spectacularly cinematic creation it’s almost completely unbelievable that it’s actually a documentary and these are all real people and this is a real story. It’s all so perfectly shot and crafted that it feels like a fictional film with actors in it giving precise performances. But that’s just not the case! Every single shot in this film is astonishing. It’s mind boggling how many perfect shots are in here. How long it must’ve taken, how many days they must’ve waited for that perfect moment, how many thousands of hours of footage they had to comb through to find that shot for this scene, how much work it was to the edit all this together into this beautiful 80 minute feature. Every shot of the storks is, and I really mean this, perfect. Whether it’s a sunset shot of them taking flight, or a silhouette of them standing in their nests above the town, or a how-did-they-get-that-zoom-shot peek at them cackling and bickering. These big carnivorous birds use their beaks to clap and create a chattering noise as their way of communicating and they’ve captured so many funny and beautiful moments of these birds doing this. I kept gasping at every new shot that appears as the story goes on. My goodness it’s so exhilarating to watch.

In addition to all these perfect shots, The Tale of Sylian is an especially moving story about a love for nature and nature’s love for us. Nikola’s relationship with a stork isn’t about their friendship, it’s about humanity’s relationship with animals, and how we appreciate and take care of each other. It’s about loving the natural world, and respecting it; and it’s about recognizing we can live in balance with nature. After establishing the characters and the story with the family, I knew something bad would happen. I knew this film would be about humans trashing earth, and indeed it is about literally this. However, unlike so many other films that show how humans are destroying this planet, there is a hopeful side to this. It’s a wholesome and heartfelt story. It takes the time to actually show us that we can return to & respect nature again. It is possible. They start growing again, they start trying again, and that’s more beautiful than simply saying it’s all bad and we need to do something and that’s it. Give me a great story about animals, and learning to return to harmony, and I will be shouting about it from the rooftops. This is one film I won’t be able to stop raving about. It’s a cinematic experience that will leave anyone who watches it changed for the better & completely rejuvenated.

Everything I Packed to Live Out of a Suitcase for a Year

by jummy84 August 29, 2025
written by jummy84

The decision to travel for a year came easily. After sorting out the logistics of subletting my NYC apartment, tossing superfluous possessions in storage, and lining up sufficient freelance remote work, my administrative ducks were in a row. But packing for a year of travel? Easy is not the term I’d employ to describe the endeavor. How does one even go about pulling together a capsule wardrobe for such an extensive amount of time away from home? The very notion seemed humorously ambitious.

The one thing I had going for me was that I orchestrated my travel plans in such a way that I’d circumvent winter all together. My first stop was Los Angeles, onward to Hawaii and New Zealand, a few months in southeast Asia, a pitstop over in India and South Africa, then late spring and early summer in Europe. Evading cold weather meant lighter layers, and thus, lighter luggage. But that still did not resolve the issue of what to pack.

At the behest of my husband, I resisted the urge to bring multiple massive suitcases and settled on one trunk and one carry-on. Unlike him, I do not worship at the altar of minimalism, but a simplified approach turned out to be necessary for maneuvering around airports, train stations, and ferries. Neutral colors and classic silhouettes I wouldn’t tire of formed the basis of my travel uniform—with a couple of dopamine-inducing accessories and statement pieces thrown in for sanity’s sake. I permitted myself a few different handbag and footwear options to adjust to various occasions, all neatly corralled with packing cubes and various organizers.

Nearly one full year and eight countries later, what I’ve learned is that a ruthless packing list is the secret to a trip’s success. If you have everything you need (nothing more, nothing less) assembled in a tidy environment, it leaves more time to be present on your journey. Don’t get me wrong: There were days when I wanted to light my suitcase ablaze and kick it into the river, and others when I was pleased with a polished look I managed to cobble together. But rarely is the outfit the best part of an adventure, anyway.

So, if you’re embarking on a similarly long-haul sojourn, the items below—from luggage necessities to wardrobe heroes—all deserve a spot on your packing list.

My Trip MVPs

The Trunk

Chief among the best packing decisions I made was choosing a travel trunk, instead of just a large checked bag (or two). I’ve always admired this romantic relic from 19th-century steamship or train journeys—but nostalgia for the Golden Age of Travel aside, the elongated shape and deep compartments made living out of my suitcase way less of a headache. My trunk of choice is from Paravel and sadly no longer available, but there are several options on the market, from heritage brands to DTC favorites like Away.

The Packing Cubes (with Labels!)

While the use of packing cubes is by no means revolutionary, one detail that transformed my experience was utilizing labels for each cube. I had different ones designated for undergarments, dresses, activewear, and so on—which made it easy to grab the specific item I was looking for without wrecking the homeostasis of my suitcase.

The Passport Holder

I have never lost my passport before… but I can imagine it isn’t pleasant. To avoid having to track down my nearest embassy, I enlisted a holder to neatly hold my passport, foreign currency, and boarding passes. I used the “Airport Dad” passport case by Clare V. X Jimmy Kimmel, which promptly sold out upon release, but any well-made holder should do the trick.

Bottega Veneta

Prada

The Jewelry Case

It’s true what they say about accessories: They can revolutionize a tired wardrobe. Going into this trip, I knew I’d be relying on my earrings and necklaces more than usual, and therefore brought along a larger organizer that kept everything detangled and easy to access.

The Go-With-Everything Tote

When you’re traveling in warm climates and need a bag that can translate to an airplane as easily as it can to evening cocktails, a woven tote is a trusty option. I prefer leather iterations, as they’re more durable; size-wise, I gravitated towards something that could fit my MacBook Air, but wasn’t so large that it felt like a commuter bag.

The Cosmetics Organizer

Coming from someone who doesn’t wear a lot of make-up even I’m surprised to include this one, but my cosmetics organizer was among my most valuable items that I packed. Unlike a simple make-up bag that jumbles everything together, having a case with specific spots for my various brushes and products was a little luxury that went a long way.

The Just-In-Case Sweater

I am a knitwear fanatic, so selecting just one sweater to pack for a year was torture. But this black, oversized cable knit from Soft Goat was a godsend. It was slouchy enough to layer over just about anything, and easy to knot around my shoulders or waist on days when the weather was a little iffy.

The Crisp White Button-Up

I will espouse the joys of a crisp white button-up shirt no matter where in the world I am, but when you’re on the road, a classic piece like this really hits its stride. It’s on regular rotation in my airplane uniform, and is a favorite layer for pairing with silk pajama pants and printed skirts.

The Pull-On Breezy Pants

I somehow only packed one pair of jeans for my entire trip—and it was A-okay! Instead, I relied on breezy linen pants, most of which were designed with a relaxed, pull-on waistline (plus, the lighter material is easier to roll up and pack than rigid denim).

The Throw-On-and-Go Dress

When you’re working with a limited rotation of clothing, it’s important to have staples you can throw on and feel instantly good in—like an effortless dress. I had one custom made when I was in Vietnam (a common practice in the country!) and proceeded to wear it the duration of my trip.

My Surprising Pick-Me-Ups

The Personality Sneakers

I am not one to impulse buy, but a week before I left for my trip I panic-purchased these Toteme sneakers. Thankfully, a year later I can safely say I made the right decision. While a classic Nike or Adidas option is always a fine choice, the suede texture on these sneakers gave them a unique touch that, in turn, had me reaching for them more often.

Dries Van Noten

The Full-Size Fragrance

Hear me out: if you are traveling for an extended period of time, bring a full-size fragrance. While mini sizes are smart for shorter getaways, there’s something so indulgent about spritzing on perfume from a larger bottle. Plus, anytime you smell that scent it’ll take you right back to your trip. (Trudon’s Isla will always hold a special place in my heart!)

Trudon

Isla de Oro eau de parfum

The Elegant Dress

I brought along a navy silk kaftan with delicate embroidery that ended up being my go-to any time we had a fancier meal or excursion, which took the stress out of dressing for a formal occasion. You don’t need to pack a plethora of occasion pieces, but one really elegant dress is worth the space in your suitcase.

The Sunglasses

What can make a repeat outfit less banal? A pair of statement sunglasses, that’s what. It’s a small detail, but one that will be in all of your photos taken outdoors during the day, so choose wisely (personally, my preference is for lightly tinted lenses).

The Sleek Flip Flops

The footwear I ended up wearing the most were my simple, fuss-free flip flops. They’re the perfect finish to a slouchy trouser with a pooled hem, and easy to style up or down depending on the occasion.

My Packing Regrets

The Cable Organizer

On more than one occasion, my assorted cords and charging cubes resembled a tangle of noodles at the bottom of my travel bag. Word to the wise: Investing in a tech organizer is investing in your mental health.

The Lightweight Weekender

I bought a leather weekender from Cuyana for the airplane and any quick side trips—but while the bag was beautiful, the weight and size weren’t conducive to my unique circumstances. If you’re traveling for several weeks or months at a time, a smaller and lighter tote or duffel is the safer option for a personal item.

The Suitcase Cover

Unsurprisingly, after a year of luggage carousels, car trunks, and countless wheel mileage, my suitcases are riddled with scratches. If I could go back and do it all over again, I’d get a cover.

Bollywood fans are in for a treat as Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor gear up to bring their sizzling chemistry to the big screen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. The much-awaited teaser of the rom-com finally dropped on Friday, August 29, after a slight delay, instantly grabbing attention with its vibrant energy and humor.

Teaser Highlights

The teaser kicks off with Varun Dhawan channeling his inner Amarendra Baahubali, originally played by Prabhas. However, the mood quickly shifts when his friend hilariously remarks, “Ranveer Singh ki dhoti mein Prabhas ka paudha lag raha hai.” From there, the teaser introduces the key characters, including Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf, who play another on-screen couple. Packed with drama, dance, romance, and colors, the teaser evokes memories of Varun’s Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania days. The film’s logline sums it up best: “Four people. Two heartbreakers. One wedding.”

Fans Celebrate Varun’s Return to Comedy

Audiences couldn’t contain their excitement on YouTube, with comments like “Finally Varun Dhawan in full-on comedy,” and “VD back in his prime mode.” Fans noted that Varun hasn’t been seen in such a lighthearted rom-com since Main Tera Hero, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.

Big Festive Release

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari marks Varun’s third outing with the filmmaker after two successful collaborations. The film also stars Akshay Oberoi and Maniesh Paul in pivotal roles. Set to release on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti, the film strategically aligns with Dussehra, giving it an extended festive window.

However, it won’t be a solo release. The film will clash at the box office with Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 and Harshvardhan Rane’s Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, making October 2 a high-stakes day for Bollywood.

Hüsker Dü to Release New Live Box Set 1985: The Miracle Year

by jummy84 August 26, 2025
written by jummy84

Numero Group has announced a new live album from Hüsker Dü. 1985: The Miracle Year is a 4xLP box set that captures the Minneapolis punk band onstage at First Avenue during its fiery SST era. It’s out November 7, but several selections have already been released online. Below, listen to excerpts from a November show in Salt Lake City and a January concert at First Avenue.

1985: The Miracle Year centers on an entire Hüsker Dü set from January 30, 1985, as restored by Beau Sorenson. It also includes 20 extra live tracks from the same year, as well as a deluxe booklet outlining the year of work that went into the tour.

The live performances captured on these recordings are a snapshot of the band at the height of its power; Hüsker Dü had released Zen Arcade the year prior, and followed it with New Day Rising in January 1985. Both albums are punk classics. The fact these tapes survived the 2011 house fire that destroyed a portion of the Hüsker Dü archive heightens the rarity of this collection.

This isn’t Numero Group’s first time archiving material from Hüsker Dü. In 2017, the Chicago-based reissue label released Savage Young Dü, a box set of the band’s early recordings and live tapes from their first three years. That year, the trio’s drummer and co-founder Grant Hart died of cancer.

Salman Khan vs Aamir Khan vs Shah Rukh Khan At Box Office

Who Has Delivered Most Highest-Grossers Of The Year?

Salman Khan vs Aamir Khan vs Shah Rukh Khan At Box Office (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Few rivalries in Indian cinema have defined generations like the battle of the three Khans, Salman, Aamir, and Shah Rukh. For over three decades, the trio has alternated between ruling the silver screen and rewriting the definition of box office success. Every decade brought its own wave of trends: family dramas in the ’90s, action-packed spectacles in the 2000s, and pan-global blockbusters in the 2010s.

But one question has always fascinated fans and trade experts alike: which Khan truly dominated the box office most consistently? While each boasts career-defining hits and cultural milestones, the numbers reveal a fascinating story of how their legacies took shape across eras. From Salman Khan’s family entertainers to Aamir Khan’s perfectionist-driven record breakers and SRK’s romantic global juggernauts, here’s a breakdown of who topped the box office crown and how often.

Salman Khan – The Box Office Sultan

Salman Khan’s journey as a box office topper is defined by his ability to reinvent himself with changing audience tastes. Starting with Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), which became the biggest grosser of its year, he transitioned into ensemble dramas like Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, rewriting Indian box office history with a then-unimaginable ₹127 crore haul in 1994, as per Box Office India.

The 2000s brought mixed phases, but Salman reinvented himself with Wanted (2009) and went on a golden streak in the 2010s. Dabangg (2010), Bodyguard (2011), Ek Tha Tiger (2012), and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) weren’t just hits; they cemented him as the crowd-puller supreme, drawing unmatched single-screen and family audiences. His films often achieved unprecedented lifetime runs, becoming festive season staples.

Box Office Crown Films (Salman Khan):

  • 1989 – Maine Pyar Kiya – ₹28 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 14 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 1991 – Saajan – ₹18 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 10 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 1994 – Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! – ₹127 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 71 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 1999 – Hum Saath-Saath Hain – ₹81.71 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 40 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 2005 – No Entry – ₹74 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 45 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 2010 – Dabangg – ₹221 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 139 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 2011 – Bodyguard – ₹234 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 142 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 2012 – Ek Tha Tiger – ₹320 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 198 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 2015 – Bajrangi Bhaijaan – ₹915 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 320.34 Cr (Domestic Net)

Total Years As Box Office King: 9

Out of the above nine years, films No Entry and Dabanng were the highest-grossing in domestic collections and were beaten by Enthiran and 2.0, respectively, in worldwide collections.

Aamir Khan – The Perfectionist

Aamir Khan’s box office supremacy is unique because it didn’t rely on sheer quantity but on path-breaking quality. Starting with Dil (1990), he soon proved his versatility with Raja Hindustani (1996), which became the highest grosser of its time. Aamir chose fewer films than his peers, but each was crafted to break barriers.

The turning point came with Ghajini (2008), which introduced Bollywood’s first ₹100 crore benchmark. Then came 3 Idiots (2009), a cultural phenomenon that crossed ₹400 crore worldwide, cementing him as India’s most bankable star. Dhoom 3 (2013) and PK (2014) raised the stakes further, but Dangal (2016) remains his crown jewel, grossing ₹2,024 crore worldwide, a record still untouched by any Hindi film.

Aamir’s appeal lies in his ability to dominate not just domestically but also in overseas markets, especially China, where his films set new global trends.

Box Office Crown Films (Aamir Khan):

  • 1990 – Dil – ₹18 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 11 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 1996 – Raja Hindustani – ₹76 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 45 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 2008 – Ghajini – ₹194.58 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 114 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 2009 – 3 Idiots – ₹395 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 220 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 2013 – Dhoom 3 – ₹601 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 284 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 2014 – PK – ₹792 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 339.5 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 2016 – Dangal – ₹2,059.04 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 387.39 Cr (Domestic Net)

Total Years As Box Office King: 7

Shah Rukh Khan’s legacy is deeply tied to the globalization of Bollywood. His first box office crown came with Darr (1993), but it was Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) that made him “King Khan,” smashing records with ₹103 crore domestic in an era where such numbers were unheard of.

Through the late ’90s and 2000s, SRK’s films dominated India and overseas, especially in the UK, the Middle East, and the USA. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), and Devdas (2002) made him the face of Indian cinema abroad. His Om Shanti Om (2007) was Bollywood’s biggest spectacle of its time, while Chennai Express (2013) reaffirmed his domestic supremacy. The recent Jawan (2023) proved SRK’s box office might is far from over, grossing ₹1,159 crore worldwide, making him once again the king of the box office after decades.

Box Office Crown Films (Shah Rukh Khan):

  • 1993 – Darr – ₹21.3 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 12.75 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 1995 – Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge – ₹103 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 53.5 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 1997 – Dil To Pagal Hai – ₹71.87 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 35 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 1998 – Kuch Kuch Hota Hai – ₹106.74 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 47 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 2000 – Mohabbatein – ₹90.01 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 43 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 2001 – Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham – ₹135.53 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 55.8 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 2002 – Devdas – ₹99.87 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 42.5 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 2003 – Kal Ho Naa Ho – ₹86.09 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 38.6 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 2004 – Veer-Zaara – ₹97.64 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 43 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 2007 – Om Shanti Om – ₹149.87 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – 79.5 Cr (Domestic Net)
  • 2023 – Jawan – ₹1,163.62 Cr (Worldwide Gross) – ₹640.42 Cr (Domestic Net)

Total Years As Box Office King: 11

Out of the above eleven years, the film Darr was the highest-grossing for only the domestic box office, as Aankhen beat it for overall gross. Further, SRK’s global dominance is proven by the fact that the films Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Mohabbatein (2000), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham… (2001), and Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003) were in fact not the winners of the Domestic Net box office but managed to became the biggest Indian movie on the global box office in those years. On the domestic front, these movies were bested by Border (1997), Kaho Na Pyaar Hai (2000), Gadar (2001), and Koi Mil Gaya (2003).

Hailey, meanwhile, works out her frustrations in therapy—”If I can just speak it out loud and process it,” she said, “I usually can get there on my own”—and is ultra mindful of her health after experiencing postpartum hemorrhaging and subsequent bouts of depression and body dysmorphia.

“Every day I have to talk to myself, like, ‘Hailey, you had a baby,'” she told Vogue. “You grew a human. You birthed a human. It’s okay. Give yourself grace. Give yourself time.”

But when she’s not working (she’s still Chief Creative Officer and Head of Innovation at Rhode), exercising, out with friends or having date night with Justin, she loves being home, where she’s ushering Jack into his solid food era and testing out recipes he can enjoy when he’s a bit older.
