Maria Florinda Rios Perez de Velasquez Killed At Wrong Address

by jummy84 November 8, 2025
written by jummy84

A routine cleaning job in Whitestown, Indiana, turned into a nightmare Wednesday morning. 32-year-old Maria Florinda Rios Perez de Velasquez was fatally shot after her team reportedly went to the wrong address. And, what should have been just another workday for the Indianapolis mom ended in tragedy. Now, her husband and four children are left devastated, while the community lives in shock.

Maria’s Husband Recalls Horror Of Fatal Shooting

According to reports, police responded to a 911 call just before 7 a.m. and found Maria Florinda Rios Perez de Velasquez dead. She was reportedly on the “front porch of the residence” with a gunshot wound to the head. Maria was immediately pronounced dead, leaving her husband Mauricio Velasquez and their four children, including an 11-month-old, reeling in shock. Mauricio told WRTV he was with his wife when the shooting happened and described the horrifying scene.

“I never thought it was a shot, but I realized when my wife took two steps back, she looked like she’d been hit in the head,” he said through tears. “She fell into my arms, and I saw the blood. It went everywhere.”

The family had been just been cleaning homes together for seven months. And now, they are left grappling with a tragic loss that feels unimaginable.

Shooter Inside Home, Investigation Ongoing

Police confirmed the shot was fired from inside the house by one of the residents, though they have not released the shooter’s identity, citing the “complex, delicate, and evolving” nature of the case. Detectives continue to investigate, trying to determine exactly what happened and what charges may apply. The department has also publicly denied false social media rumors that a police officer lived at the home, calling the misinformation “false and misleading.”

Prosecutors Review Case As Maria’s Family Seeks Justice

The case has been formally submitted to the Boone County Prosecutor’s Office. Kent Eastwood, the prosecutor, tells ABC News that his office hopes to make a charging decision within the next couple of weeks. Mauricio, still grieving, pleaded for justice: “What I need now is for there to be justice, because he took her life, in that sense. I don’t believe that’s human.” Meanwhile, the community is left shaken by a fatal mix-up that turned a simple morning job into a devastating tragedy.

Abhishek Bachchan hits back at journalist for accusing him of buying Best Actor award: ‘I will prove you wrong’

by jummy84 October 29, 2025
written by jummy84

Abhishek Bachchan has experienced an inspiring journey in Bollywood as an actor. Following in his superstar father Amitabh Bachchan’s footsteps, Abhishek began his career in the Hindi film industry with J. P. Dutta’s war drama Refugee (2000). Even though there were some bumps in the way, he went on to emerge as one of the most versatile performers that Bollywood had ever witnessed. But throughout his journey, Abhishek was considered underrated because of constant comparisons to his legendary father. So when he received his first ever Filmfare Award for Best Actor, for his performance in I Want to Talk (2024) last month, it felt like a personal win for many fans. However, some accused the actor of ‘buying’ the award.

Abhishek Bachchan

This morning, journalist Navneet Mundhra took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Abhishek Bachchan’s victory. The tweet read, “As much as he’s an affable guy, I hate to say that professionally #AbhishekBachchan is the prime example of how buying awards and aggressive PR pushes can keep you relevant… even if you don’t have a single SOLO blockbuster in your career. He won an award for #IWantToTalk this year… A film which no one saw apart from a few PAID reviewers. And now I see all these tweets saying 2025 is HIS year. HILARIOUS !! There are far better actors than him who deserve more recognition, work, appreciation & awards…. but alas! They don’t have PR smarts & money.” Well, Abhishek has politely hit back at the journalist.

Abhishek responded, “Just to set the record straight. Never has any award been bought or aggressive PR been done by me . Just hard work, blood, sweat and tears. But, doubt you’ll believe anything I say or write. So…. Best way to shut you up is by working even harder so that you don’t ever doubt any achievement that will happen in the future, again. I will prove you wrong! With all due respect and “affability”.”

When I Want to Talk released, many fans had lauded Abhishek’s performance, with some describing him as ‘better than Amitabh Bachchan’ in their reviews. Have you watched the Shoojit Sircar film yet?

Are you eating sprouts the wrong way? Nutritionist explains how common mistakes can make this healthy snack unhealthy

by jummy84 October 5, 2025

Sprouts are often hailed as a superfood – tossed into salads or chaats, blended into smoothies, or eaten raw for their crunch and “clean” health appeal. Many believe that eating them uncooked preserves nutrients and boosts digestion. But is this popular health habit really as beneficial as it seems? Turns out, not quite!

Khushi Chhabra, a holistic health nutritionist and diabetes educator, explained why eating raw sprouts might not be as healthy as it seems – and why they’re best consumed cooked. In an Instagram video posted on October 4, the nutritionist breaks down why the craze for eating raw sprouts is more fad than fact, how it can impact your gut and digestion, and shares healthier ways to enjoy sprouts for maximum nutritional benefit.

How eating raw sprouts can be unhealthy

According to Khushi, “Sprouts are one of the most nutrient-dense foods because they have protein, fibre, and vitamins. But a lot of people get bloating, constipation, and gas when they eat raw sprouts.” She further mentions that sprouts are rich in fibre, enzymes, antioxidants, vitamin C, folate, and around three to four grams of protein per 100 grams. However, they are higher in carbohydrates than proteins – about 60 – 65% – hence, overeating is not ideal. She also explains, “Raw sprouts can cause bloating, gas, and even constipation because they’re hard to digest and may carry bacteria when eaten uncooked.”

What’s the right ways to eat sprouts

Khushi recommends steaming or lightly sauteing sprouts before eating them, as this breaks down tough fibres that are harder to digest. She suggests, “Add heating spices like ginger, black pepper, cumin, and rock salt as they help in digestion and keep your gut happy.” According to the nutritionist, practising portion control is key – about half to one cup is sufficient for most people to reap the benefits without overdoing it. Lastly, she advises pairing sprouts with pure protein sources like paneer, curd, or eggs to balance the meal.

Listicle: 10 internet trends that went horribly wrong

Laundry isn’t lunch. The Tide Pod Challenge started as a joke. Those laundry pods really looked “too delicious to resist”. Then American teenagers actually bit into them in 2018. The result: Poison control hotlines were flooded, ERs were swamped with cases of chemical burns, seizures, and respiratory failure. More than 12,000 cases of exposure were logged. Tide pivoted with opaque packaging, bittering agents, and a PSA from NFL star Rob Gronkowski. Utterly foolish.

Leave cinnamon alone. In the centuries gone by, White men would colonise and pillage for cinnamon. Now they film themselves as they attempt to eat the powdered stuff by the spoonful. The problem? Cinnamon isn’t water-soluble. Saliva can’t break it down, leaving daredevils sputtering. It’s not just teens. In July, an elderly man filmed himself taking up the challenge. Seconds later, he was coughing and choking. The dare has been around since the early 2010s.

TikTok’s Blackout Challenge causes seizures and stroke-like damage that can last a lifetime (SHUTTERSTOCK)
TikTok’s Blackout Challenge causes seizures and stroke-like damage that can last a lifetime (SHUTTERSTOCK)

Fainting isn’t fun. TikTok’s Blackout Challenge surfaced in 2008 and came roaring back in 2021. It pushed kids to black out (we won’t say how) —on camera. The activity was tied to child deaths across continents. Lawsuits claimed that TikTok served the clips straight to minors. Blackouts are no joke. It starves the brain of oxygen. Four minutes in, cells begin to die; by five, death is near. Neurologists warn of seizures, memory loss, and stroke-like damage that can last a lifetime.

We won’t explain TikTok’s Dusting Challenge. But it has led to heart failures and brain deaths. (SHUTTERSTOCK)

Cleaning fluids are not toys. We won’t explain TikTok’s Dusting Challenge. But it involves inhaling one particular device cleaner. So much can go wrong so quickly: When chemical gases displace oxygen in the lungs, it derails the brain, and leaves the heart primed for collapse. In 2025, 19-year-old Renna O’Rourke of Arizona collapsed mid-stunt and was declared brain-dead days later.

Survival often comes with seizures, memory gaps, and neurological scars.

Look before you leap. YouTube popularised a strange trend in early 2020. Three friends would film themselves lining up as if to leap together. Then, the one in the middle jumped, and in a split second the others would kick (That’s all we’ll say). The fall isn’t funny. Skulls have cracked as bodies slam backwards, people have had concussions and brain bleeds. It doesn’t even look like fun.

Chilli is for recipes. In 2016, Texas-based brand Paqui unveiled a dare packaged like a daredevil’s souvenir: A single chip, dusted in California Reaper chilli powder, sealed in a coffin-shaped box. The mild reactions included tears, gagging, shaky bravado. The worst ones required hospitalisations and one death. Paqui pulled their death chip. Praise be!

The reckless challenge involving salt and ice has led to second-degree burns and blisters. (SHUTTERSTOCK)

Science is unforgiving. One challenge, involving salt and ice, has been going on for more than a decade. It starts off with pain – and enduring it for bragging rights. But it can very quickly go bad. Salt is harmless by itself. But lowers the freezing point of water. Which means it gets cold enough to cause second-degree burns and blisters. Several American schools have issued warnings about it.

The fire challenge gets participants to all but set themselves ablaze, landing some in the ICU. (SHUTTERSTOCK)

Fire is not your friend. One challenge turned up on social feeds in 2012 and went viral by 2014. Again, we’re withholding the details. But it gets challengers to all but set themselves ablaze. Obviously it rarely ends well. And involving some everyday materials and chemicals makes it even worse. Think of an activity in which the best-case scenario is a singe and the worst is ICU care. We’ll pass.

The Bird Box Challenge was inspired by the 2018 movie.
The Bird Box Challenge was inspired by the 2018 movie.

Leave stunts to the movies. The Bird Box Challenge was inspired by the 2018 movie and got participants to go through the world blindfolded. So far, so silly. People tried to cook, walk, climb stairs blindfolded. Then, one teen in Utah tried driving blindfolded and crashed her car. In the UK, a man perched on railway tracks for views. YouTube and authorities rushed to rein in the frenzy.

The “Kiki, do you love me?” challenge was harmless, until people started jumping from moving cars. (SHUTTERSTOCK)
The “Kiki, do you love me?” challenge was harmless, until people started jumping from moving cars. (SHUTTERSTOCK)

Nothing planned is an accident. Back in 2018, the In My Feelings Challenge seemed harmless — just a beat, some moves, and perfect timing. Drake’s Scorpion hit turned streets, gyms, and even hotel lobbies into impromptu dance floors, as everyone hummed “Kiki, do you love me?” Celebrities from Will Smith to Millie Bobby Brown did their version. But when some idiots began leaping from slow-moving cars, it wasn’t fun at all. In India, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Jaipur, and UP reported a string of injuries as dancers misjudged steps, or traffic.

Dasha Talks ‘Cutthroat’ Women, Men Who ‘Can Do No Wrong’ in Country

by jummy84 September 20, 2025
written by jummy84

When it comes to men and women in country music, the playing field is far from level. During this week’s episode of Rolling Stone‘s Nashville Now podcast, singer-songwriter Dasha shares her firsthand experience with the uneven balance of power in Nashville, especially when it comes to what artists can and cannot say.

“Especially in the country world, men, for the most part, can do no wrong. The more they’re outspoken and the more they express their opinions and go outside the lines, the more someone’s like, ‘Oh, he’s so cool,’” Dasha says.

But were a woman dare to be outspoken, she’d expect blowback, often from the genre’s very fans.

“Women are so cutthroat. If I saw a woman breaking the rules online a bit, in the country world, wearing some shorts that her cheeks are out, I’d be like, ‘Go queen!’ But they’re like, ‘You stupid bitch,’” Dasha says of online commenters.

After some therapy, Dasha says she’s able to better deal with the comments she receives. In the past, she’s read them and tear up. “Now, when I see those comments, I’m like, ‘Thanks, Karen from Minnesota, you’re feeding my algorithm. Appreciate you, girl.’”

Dasha, who broke out with the viral hit “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’),” is gearing up for the release of her new EP, Anna, on Oct. 10th. On Friday, she dropped the latest track from the project, “Train.”

Why Do I Keep Getting Mad at Coachella Lineups? What’s Wrong With Me?

by jummy84 September 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Won’t someone think of the brand activations? Has anyone checked on the Klarna executives? Is there a gas leak at Goldenvoice? Vanessa Hudgens hasn’t even had the chance to swap her summer crochet linens for winter crochet wools, but the California concert promoter has already released the lineup for the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the earliest announcement since the event’s inception in 1999. We’re expected to know, before the leaves begin to turn, if we want to snag tickets at the “early bird” “discount” price of $650 (Weekend One) or $550 (Weekend Two) to see Kaskade, the DJ my EDM-curious dad once called “Ajax” by mistake (they’re both cleaning supplies, after all).

But maybe I’m the fool for expecting anything different: For as long as it’s been a tastemaker, Coachella has also been a harbinger of poptimism to come; griping about the festival’s mainstream pulls and corporate sponsorships is one of the last reliable joys music snobs have in an otherwise algorithmic wasteland. And there is a small thrill that remains in trying to parse the “Zendaya-Is-Mechee” verbiage of “The Bunker Debut of Radiohead Kid A Mnesia.” Still, today’s announcement felt especially phoned in, as if the organizers threw darts at SNL musical guests and hoped for the best.

It’s been a bear market for chill vibes at the Indio festival for the past couple of years. Coachella hasn’t sold out since 2023, despite its release dates creeping earlier in the calendar each year. It’s now typical to find resale tickets at vastly lower costs than their face value, as travel plans and weather become more precarious. In 2025, temperatures climbed above 100 degrees, becoming the hottest edition since 2012.

More than half of GA attendees this year paid in “buy-now-pay-later” installments, siphoning small sips of their paycheck each month for the chance to bear witness to Benson Boone (Goldenvoice, in turn, has to wait longer for revenue). Even the would-be headliners are tired: Massive Attack declined to perform at this year’s event, citing the environmental havoc it wreaks on its already strained climate; Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna declined because they were “busy,” which was just a polite way of saying that the festival was officially more cooked than the parched earth beneath its main stage.

And then there’s the lineup itself: Moby billed below Ethel Cain; Laufey billed above Black Flag. Coachella feels like a desperate pitch for connection between a bewildered Gen X father and his brainrotted Gen Z son. There are, contained within, many Coachellas on this poster: The misremembered indie sleaze revival festival, headlined by the XX and the Rapture and Major Lazer; the rockist retirement home with David Byrne and Iggy Pop; the “You just made this guy up” festival starring upcoming sadpop star sombr. There’s plenty of gems buried in tiny letters: Wednesday, PinkPantheress, fakemink, and Oklou all speak to where music is going next. But a festival is defined by the names in the boldest font. Coachella, especially, built its reputation on setting our pop cultural compass with its headliners. This year, they seem content to operate on autopilot.

‘It Is Wrong To Held Sportsperson Responsible’, Suniel Shetty On Ongoing India Vs Pakistan Match Controversy

by jummy84 September 14, 2025
written by jummy84

The Asia Cup 2025 has officially begun, and one of its most awaited matches, India versus Pakistan began on September 14. Traditionally, an India-Pakistan game is nothing less than a high-voltage cricketing spectacle, where every run, wicket, and moment grips millions of fans across the globe. However, this time, the atmosphere is overshadowed by political and emotional sentiments following recent terror attacks.

Suniel Shetty

Earlier this year, India witnessed two major tragedies: the Pulwama attack and the Pahalgam terror strike in April. The incidents left the nation enraged, and even after India’s retaliatory Operation Sindoor, the wounds remain fresh. Against this backdrop, a section of people on social media have demanded a boycott of the high-profile match, arguing that cricketing ties with Pakistan should not continue under such circumstances. Bollywood celebrities have also weighed in.

Raveena Tandon

Actress Raveena Tandon shared her thoughts on X, writing, “Okay, the match has started. I hope our team will play wearing a black band and will kneel before victory.” Her post reflected the emotions of many who believe the match should symbolize solidarity with the martyrs. Veteran actor Suniel Shetty, however, offered a balanced perspective. Speaking to the media, he said that while individuals are free to have their opinions about the India-Pakistan clash, it is unfair to hold the players or sporting bodies responsible.

Suniel Shetty

He emphasized that such tournaments are organized by international federations involving multiple nations and athletes, and the rules of the game must be respected. According to him, the players’ role is to represent their country with pride, and they should not be blamed for political situations beyond their control. Shetty further clarified that choosing to watch or skip the match should be a personal decision, not a collective compulsion. He urged fans to avoid spreading negativity and to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship.

As one does. Living Single‘s Kim Coles costars as the Wilson Hall Academy of the Arts’ Dean Merriweather, with Jiwon Lee as Vee’s perky roommate Sophie and Milo Maharlika as Demi, a 600-year-old ghost sent by Vee’s parents to keep a spectral eye on Vee. The Wrong Paris

What would Emily Cooper (of Emily in Paris) do? Have a meltdown, most likely. Which is country girl Dawn’s (Miranda Cosgrove of iCarly fame) initial reaction when she signs on as a contestant for the Honey Pot dating show, set in Paris, where she hopes to pursue her art-school dreams. But reality (as in reality TV) sets in when she discovers the show is actually set in Paris, Texas. This being a romcom, you won’t be surprised to learn that the cowboy bootcamp has an upside: the bachelor himself, a hunky hayseed named Trey (Pierson Fodé) who takes a shine to Dawn.

Sarah and her new mentor Brad (Wade Briggs) know their jobs at Tinley Britt are on the line, while Rudy keeps trying to prove himself to his boss Bruiser (Lana Parrilla), though he has a risky habit of ignoring all of her advice and warnings. Adding to the anxiety: the results of the bar exam are beginning to come in.

I’m a sucker for a good pop-psychology quiz. I’ll spend hours deep-diving into my Co-Star chart, justifying all my problems with “I’m a Virgo, babe!”, and subjecting all my friends to extensive Myers-Briggs testing. (Fun fact: more than half of them are INFPs.) And of course, I love guessing people’s birth order, even if I’ve only known them for 20 minutes.

‘Little House on the Prairie’ Star Finally Reveals Why Everyone Said Almanzo’s Name Wrong

As all Little House on the Prairie fans know, the show’s characters had a slightly unusual way of pronouncing the name of Almanzo Wilder, Laura Ingall’s love interest. And as actress Lucy Lee Flippin has revealed in a new interview in BuzzFeed, the epic mispronunciation goes back to the nerves she felt on her first day filming.

Flippin, 82, portrayed schoolteacher Eliza Jane Wilder in the show’s final three seasons. With her thick glasses and red curls, Flippin was one of the series’s more visually memorable characters, inspiring fans to embrace their “Eliza Jane Era” in modern times.
