Dwayne Johnson has found incredible success in Hollywood, becoming a one-name wonder known worldwide as The Rock. The actor has starred in some of the biggest blockbusters, including Jumanji, The Mummy Returns, and the Fast & Furious franchise, and even lent his voice to the demigod Maui in Disney’s hit Moana.

But before Hollywood, Johnson rose to fame as a WWE superstar — and now his eldest daughter, Simone Johnson, is carrying on the family legacy in the wrestling world. After signing with WWE in 2020, Simone made her televised debut on NXT on October 25, 2022, under the ring name Ava Raine.

Since then, she has continued to build her presence in the company, including a notable moment in 2025 when she announced that the men’s and women’s WWE Speed Championships would officially become part of the NXT brand. Though she’s faced both praise and controversy, Simone has firmly established herself as a new voice in WWE.

Find out all about Simone, below!

Simone, born August 14, 2001, is the daughter Dwayne shares with his first wife, Dany Garcia, who is a producer and founder of The Gracia Companies. The former couple were married from 1997 to 2008, and Simone is their only child together. Dwayne also shares daughters Jasmine and Tiana with his second wife, Lauren Hashian.

She Worked as a Model & Golden Globe Ambassador

Before stepping into the ring, Simone followed in her father’s Hollywood footsteps as a model. She signed with powerhouse agency IMG Models and quickly made her mark. In 2018, she was named the first-ever Golden Globe Ambassador for the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards.

“I’ve been lucky enough to grow up in a household with strong role models and feel so honored to represent the HFPA for its 75th Anniversary,” Simone said at the time. “As the newly minted Golden Globe Ambassador, I hope to serve as a role model to young people everywhere and empower them to speak out on issues they are passionate about.”

She Made History in WWE

In 2020, Simone signed a developmental contract with WWE at just 18 years old, making history as the first fourth-generation wrestler in the company’s history, following in the footsteps of her great-grandfather “High Chief” Peter Maivia, her grandfather “Soulman” Rocky Johnson, and of course, her dad, The Rock.

Announcing the milestone on Instagram, Simone shared a photo of herself in a WWE T-shirt with the caption: “To the little girl who fell in love with wrestling & said ‘this will be my life one day,’ this is for you. I’m humbled, grateful & ready to work. Let’s do this. @wwe @wwenxt.”

She later revealed her official ring name, Ava Raine, in May 2022. She was immediately slammed over the name, with one critic writing, “Giving Simone Johnson, the daughter of THE ROCK, a new name is completely nonsensical. Will hold judgement until she debuts, but if WWE doesn’t acknowledge her dad is The Rock that’s ridiculous.”

Simone pushed back, posting, “I probably sound like a broken record & hopefully this is the last I’ll mention this, but I don’t understand why people being portrayed as separate individuals from their family name is such a heated topic. A name doesn’t discredit any prior accomplishments from any family.” She later added, “I could build my entire career around my father & people would still bash me anyway.”

She Overcame a Knee Injury Before Her WWE Debut

Shortly after joining WWE, Simone suffered a knee injury in September 2020 that required surgery. She had previously undergone three other knee operations, making it her fourth overall. After her recovery, she finally made her televised debut in October 2022 on NXT as Ava Raine.

“[S]o tomorrow i’m having knee surgery for the third time,” Simone tweeted at the time. “[A]s not fun as surgery is, i’m looking forward to my knees not popping out anymore[.]”

so tomorrow i’m having knee surgery for the third time. as not fun as surgery is, i’m looking forward to my knees not popping out anymore✌🏽🙃

that said, please send me video games suggestions, movie suggestions (preferably scary) or anything else to help pass the time

She Balances WWE With Public Scrutiny

Since her debut, Simone has continued to grow her presence in WWE, even announcing in 2025 that the men’s and women’s WWE Speed Championships would officially be part of NXT. She’s also faced challenges in the public eye, including backlash over a social media repost following Charlie Kirk’s death.

and i’ll stand behind this.

She reposted a message on X that read, “If you want people to have kind words when you pass, you should say kind things when you’re alive,” and added the comment, “And I’ll stand behind this. Be kind, now more than ever.” Many fans interpreted her post as a direct reference to Charlie’s death, sparking criticism and even calls for WWE to take action.

Kelly Osbourne has hit out at wrestler Becky Lynch over a distasteful joke she made about her late father, Ozzy.

WWE brought its live TV show WWE RAW to the BP Pulse LIVE in Birmingham last night (August 25). The event took place just over a month after the death of the Black Sabbath frontman and soloist on July 22, aged 76.

In a nod to filming taking place in the Prince Of Darkness’ hometown, Lynch told Nikki Bella: “I’m not wrestling in Birmingham. The only good thing that came out of here died a month ago.

“But in fairness to Ozzy Osbourne, he had the good sense to move to LA, a proper city.  Because if I lived in Birmingham, I’d die too.” The sound of boos could then be heard from the crowd.

Viewers were quick to criticise the remark, with some calling it “very disrespectful” and saying it was “too soon”.

Today (August 26), Kelly Osbourne took to her Instagram Stories feed to call out Lynch’s ill-advised comment.

“[Becky Lynch] you are a disrespectful dirtbag! Birmingham would not piss on you if you were on fire. #birminghamforever. Shame on the WWE for allowing such things to be said about my father and his home!!!”

You can see a screenshot of the message in the post below. Lynch has not yet apologised or responded to the backlash at the time of writing.

Ozzy Osbourne’s daughter Kelly has criticised Becky Lynch’s comments from last night’s WWE Raw in Birmingham, England.

In a segment with Nikki Bella, Becky Lynch said: “You can have your match, but in Paris at Clash, because I’m not wrestling in Birmingham. The only good thing… pic.twitter.com/OaleCRMAlt

Ozzy Osbourne, though never active in a WWE ring, was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2021. He first appeared in WWE programming at WrestleMania 2 in 1986, when he was ringside to support to help The British Bulldogs win the World Tag Team Championships. He and Sharon Osbourne hosted an episode of WWE RAW in 2009.

His last contribution to the WWE was for 2022’s Survivor Series: WarGames event, for which he let the company use Black Sabbath’s ‘War Pigs’ as its theme song, and appeared in a video package. In the package, he sang along to ‘War Pigs’, and said: “Welcome to WarGames.”

Ozzy’s death certificate confirmed his cause of death to be a heart attack, while also mentioning that he was suffering from coronary heart disease and Parkinson’s. The document listed his occupation as “Songwriter, Performer and Rock Legend”.

Kelly paid her first pubic tribute to her late father last month, before thanking fans for their “love, support and beautiful messages” in the wake of his death.

“Grief is a strange thing,” she continued. “It sneaks up on you in waves. I will not be OK for a while, but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind.”

Kelly joined her mother Sharon, brother Jack, and sister Aimee for a public funeral procession in Birmingham on July 30. Ozzy was then laid to rest in the grounds of his UK mansion after a private ceremony.

Jack has also shared a tribute to Ozzy, writing: “He lived and he lived his life fully. I love you dad.”

Ozzy passed away just 17 days after his huge final live show with Black Sabbath in Birmingham, which raised “a ton” of money for Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Meanwhile, Queens Of The Stone Age’s Josh Homme has compared Ozzy Osbourne‘s death to David Bowie’s, saying they were both “poetic”.

MMA Legend Rampage Jackson Speaks Out After His Son Seriously Injures Wrestler During Botched Skit: I Apologize On His Behalf

MMA legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is speaking out following a disturbing incident involving his son, Raja Jackson.

According to reports, Raja seriously injured a wrestler during a live-streamed moment at KnokX Pro’s KnokXperience event in Sun Valley, California. Reports state that Raja entered the ring and delivered more than 20 seemingly real punches to wrestler Syko Stu, who appeared to be unconscious before others intervened.

Addressing the situation on X, Rampage explained that Raja had been hit earlier in the evening by the wrestler and was told he could “get payback” during a skit. However, things clearly went too far. Rampage confirmed that, despite initial rumors, Stu is now “awake and stable,” describing the incident as “a work that went wrong.”

“I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL!… It was bad judgement, and a work that went wrong. Raja is an MMA fighter, not a pro wrestler, and had no business involved in an event like this,” he wrote.

Rampage also revealed that Raja had suffered a concussion just days earlier, making his involvement in any physical altercation “irresponsible.” He ended his statement with an apology “on his behalf and to KICK for the situation,” stressing concern for both his son’s condition and Syko Stu’s recovery.

Meanwhile, KnokX Pro Wrestling issued a public statement on Facebook, condemning Raja’s behavior as “selfish, irresponsible,” and “reprehensible.” They noted that in 17 years of operation, nothing like this had ever occurred. Their main concern, they emphasized, remains Stu’s health.

What are your thoughts on the situation? ?
