Jennifer Aniston has figured out how to remain friends with everyone.

And it’s a quality her Morning Show costar Reese Witherspoon is in awe of, especially when it comes to how Jennifer has maintained relationships with those from her past, including ex-husbands Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux.

In fact, the Legally Blonde actress recalled Jennifer’s 50th birthday party as being “one of the biggest testaments” of what a wonderful person she is, considering the surprising list of people who came out to celebrate the Friends star.

“People from her teenage years, people from her 20s, people who work in her home,” Reese told Dax Shepard of the guest list during the Nov. 3 episode of his Armchair Expert podcast. “Every ex-husband, ex-boyfriend was there.”

And Jen’s openness is a quality Reese has admired for years.

“We’ve known each other for so long,” Reese continued. “She’s really warm and welcoming. She’s, like, a big host. Like, ‘Come over.’ She’s really warm and friendly.”

Reese Witherspoon Recalls Hosting the First SNL Episode Post 9/11

Reese Witherspoon is opening up about the difficult decision to host the first Saturday Night Live episode after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The Oscar winner recently chatted with Dax Shepard on his Armchair Expert podcast about her debut SNL hosting experience more than two decades ago, saying, “I would give that zero stars. Do not recommend.”

Witherspoon, who was coming off the box office success of Legally Blonde that summer, admitted it was “just too much responsibility for a 24-year-old girl.” However, her “Southern and military ethics” prevented her from turning down SNL creator Lorne Michaels when he asked.

“Lorne Michaels called me and he said, ‘I really need you to show up. I really, really need this. Rudy Giuliani’s gonna be here. All the firefighters are gonna be here. Paul Simon is gonna sing. I just need you to come out and do something a little light and tell America, ‘You can’t feel sad. We gotta laugh again. We’ve got to get back the national spirit,’” Witherspoon recalled. The actress-producer noted that she was scheduled to host the second episode of season 27, but that the first episode ended up being canceled following the attacks.

“I was 24. I also had a baby. I had a one-year-old. I was a new mom. I had the biggest movie come out that summer,” The Morning Show star added. “But if you know me, if I tell you I’m going to do something, I mean there has to be a real disaster. … We did it and it was good.”

The post-9/11 show also included a speech from then-New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, while being surrounded by NYC firefighters and police officers. Paul Simon also had a surprise performance, while Alicia Keys was the scheduled musical guest.

In addition to that episode being Witherspoon’s hosting debut, it was also the first episode for longtime castmembers Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler.

When Witherspoon thinks back to that 2001 episode, she remembers how she “completely left my body” during the entire episode and “did not go again for 15 years,” referring to the long-running sketch comedy show.

She finally returned in 2015 to host SNL during season 40, with musical guest Florence and the Machine.

Mindy Kaling recently turned down a date set up by Reese Witherspoon.

The 46-year-old actress quickly put a stop to fellow actress Reese, 49, trying to play matchmaker because Mindy is not looking for love right now.

Mindy – who previously dated 46-year-old actor B.J. Novak – said on a recent episode of the One Nightstand podcast: “Once pretty recently, Reese Witherspoon wanted to set me up with somebody.

“And I didn’t even look to see who it was. I didn’t laugh in her face because I love her, and I love that she was thinking of me in that way.

“But I just thought, ‘It’s not time.’ But I laughed at the idea of doing my hair, putting on makeup and getting out there.”

The Mindy Project alum has two daughters, Katherine, seven, Anne, 19 months, and a five-year-old son, Spencer – and their godfather is B.J.

And the comedienne said dating would not work at the moment because she would be away from her bundles of joy – whom their father has never been named – and is always travelling for work.

Mindy said: “I have three kids under the age of seven, so for me to want to leave them, especially when I travel for work a lot, just, you know.”

Elsewhere, Mindy has previously recalled her most embarrassing date – a man who did not think they were on a date.

The Office star shared on Reddit: “The worst date I’ve ever been on was with a guy who I was super excited about, really attracted to, and then on the date it became apparent that it WASN’T a date.

“He was just a straight dude who was psyched to have dinner with me in a platonic way. He talked about an actress he really wanted to date, and we split the check.

“This is dating in Los Angeles.”

Reese Witherspoon on Big Little Lies Season 3: Gang Is Back Together

Reese Witherspoon confirmed that “Big Little Lies” Season 3 is a go during an appearance on “The Tonight Show” on Thursday, telling Jimmy Fallon she’s excited to “get the gang back together.”

“We might be working on Season 3. Yeah, I mean, they’re writing it,” Witherspoon teased. “It’s exciting too, just to get the gang back together and have everyone start talking about it. It’s really fun.”

It was revealed earlier on Thursday that a third season of the hit HBO series was finally in the works, with “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” co-creator Francesca Sloane on board to write the first episode of Season 3 and executive produce. Alongside Witherspoon, “Big Little Lies” has an all-star cast including Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz, Laura Dern, Meryl Streep, Adam Scott, Alexander Skarsgård and more. Based on Liane Moriarty’s novel of the same name, it follows five women and their young children who become involved in a homicide investigation. Season 2 of the show, which was based on original material by Moriarty, aired its finale in July 2019.

Witherspoon added that it’s “been a minute” since the cast has all been together and nearly a decade since the first season was filmed. “It’s been about 10 years, maybe nine years?” she said. “All those little kids [who] were in second grade, they’re all teenagers now. And being a mom of a teenager, it’s a lot of big little lies.”

It remains unclear how the third season of “Big Little Lies” will address the time gap after Season 2, but a sequel novel from Moriarty is due out next year.
