Briana Adams Eliminated in Episode 5 and Channing Wilson Wins the Night

What To Know

  • The November 16 episode of The Road featured the group two hitting the stage in Oklahoma City.
  • The five artists each performed an original song and a cover song before being rated by the audience.
  • At the end of the night, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban chose one contestant to eliminate from the bottom two.

The second group of the Top 9 artists hit the stage in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on the Sunday, November 16, episode of The Road. This week, five singers performed a cover song and an original song while opening up for Keith Urban, with his audiences rating the performances on their phones afterwards.

At the end of the night, Urban and Blake Shelton revealed the top-rated performer, and then they decided who would be going home out of the bottom two. One singer took a big risk by singing a powerful cover song, but it ended up coming back to haunt her.

Scroll down for a recap of the performances and to find out who went home.

Channing Wilson

After being in the Top 3 in Week 1 and finishing at the top of his group in Week 2, Channing Wilson knew he had to keep the momentum going. He performed “The Weatherman” as his cover, and Urban noted, “He’s so relatable. As soon as he starts talking, I like him immediately.”

CBS

For his original song, he sang “Gettin’ Out of My Mind,” which he described as a “honkey tonk and boot-stompin’ kind of song.” Urban said it was a “great choice” and that Channing “played to the room perfectly. Shelton added, “I want him to keep going!”

Shelton also noted that this show could finally be Channing’s big break, at which point, Urban pointed out, “If Jelly Roll can win Best New Artist at 39…”

Billie Jo Jones

Billie Jo Jones’ confidence was at an all-time low after her last performance in Dallas, Texas. This week, she was still fighting the illness that’s been plaguing her throughout the competition.

Still, she came to the stage with a powerhouse vocal cover, singing Martina McBride‘s “Broken Wing.” Her original song was called “Whose Tequila Are You Drinkin’?” Shelton said, “I thought she did good. My only critique would be that she followed Channing, and that’s a tough task.”

Briana Adams

Briana Adams’ cover song choice of “I Will Always Love You” by Dolly Parton was “concerning” for tour manager Gretchen Wilson, who admitted that she wasn’t sure it was a risk that would pay off.

CBS

However, Urban said he “liked” the performance, although he later noted, “I wouldn’t choose it as my cover in a rowdy bar.” Shelton admitted, “I sit here a million times and say, ‘Why don’t they do a song that everybody knows,’ and of course everybody knows ‘I Will Always Love You,’ but just … something about that felt like … she overshot it a little.”

Briana’s original song was called “Belle of the Beer Bash,” which had the crowd holding their drinks up in the air. “She was pretty good,” Urban said. “I don’t know what she could’ve done differently.”

Adam Sanders

Adam Sanders sang “Heads Carolina, Tails California” for his cover, which Urban said was a “good choice.” Wilson pointed out that Adam has “a lot of confidence, as far as stage presence, vocal ability, song writing ability,” but added that he’s “only showing us one kind of side” with his performances.

CBS

He changed it up a bit with his cover, singing a power ballad called “Burning Roses” instead of a more up-tempo song. “That was a good combination,” Urban confirmed. “His voice was suited to the original. That’s his spot right there. The cover didn’t suit him vocally, but it was a good choice. The crowd loved it. He can work a crowd.”

Shelton agreed, adding, “That guy … he should be a politician.”

Britnee Kellogg

Closing out the show was Britnee Kellogg, who began her set with a cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.”

CBS

“Britnee’s one of those vocalists where you don’t realize how powerful she can really be because she’s sort of soft spoken, then all of a sudden she hits these notes when she gets up there that are really incredible,” Shelton raved.

Britnee’s original was a personal tune called “She’s Come a Long Way,” and Urban said, “Britnee did great. That’s a really hard cover, and then her original connected to that audience.”

Who went home on The Road Episode 5?

After the show, Urban revealed that Channing once again received the highest rating of the night. Unfortunately, Billie Jo and Briana were in the bottom two. The guys ultimately decided to eliminated Briana.

“You both sounded really incredible,” Shelton confirmed. “For us, we feel like from the connection that was had here tonight on stage, Billie Jo was the one we’re going to move forward to next week.”

Briana admitted that she “figured as much” and acknowledged that her cover song choice was a “gamble.” Although she got emotional, she added, “Thank you so much for this opportunity. I got to come here and be unapologetically myself.”

Adam, Channing, Billie Jo, and Britnee will be joining Cassidy Daniels, Jenny Tolman, and Cody Hibbard in the next city: Tulsa, Oklahoma!

Who Wins Special Forces Season 4? Spoilers & Updates on the Winners – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 November 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Season 4 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test has thrown a few curveballs at the audience. Every year, the Fox reality TV show sees multiple celebrities undergo strenuous physical and mental challenges inspired by real-world Special Forces training. From reality TV stars to athletes, this season featured multiple pairs — a first for the series — that included spouses and a mother-daughter duo.

The directing staff of the show, Rudy Reyes, Jason Fox, Mark Billingham and Jovon Charles, implement a series of grueling tasks for the recruits to tackle. And by the end of the show, recruits don’t only face physical obstacles, but mental hurdles as well. It all comes down to whom the DS trusts the most to accompany them if the recruits were in an actual training course.

Now that season 4 is almost at the end, who completes the full 10-day course? Below, get updates on who wins season 4 of Special Forces. (Warning: spoilers are ahead for season 4 of Special Forces)

Who Voluntarily Withdrew From Season 4 of Special Forces?

On day 1, Brittany Cartwright withdrew, followed by Teresa Giudice on day 2, because she could not watch her daughter, Gia Giudice, fight another recruit.

Other VWs were Johnny Manziel, Nick Young, Ravi V. Patel, Jessie James Decker (to accompany her husband, Eric Decker, who was medically withdrawn) and Randall Cobb.

Who Got Eliminated From Special Forces Season 4?

Several people were medically withdrawn this season, while a few others had their armbands taken by the staff. Those who were eliminated due to medical reasons were Jussie Smollett, Mark Estes, Christie Pearce Rampone and Eric, as previously noted.

The recruits who were discharged for other reasons were Eva Marcille and Chanel Iman.

Who Wins Season 4 of Special Forces?

After Randall withdrew on day 8, five recruits remained: Gia, Kody Brown, Andrew East, Shawn Johnson East and Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia, who nearly VW’d earlier that day but persevered.

Based on how far they’ve come, any of these five celebrities could finish the course, but the winners have not been revealed yet. Most projections have included Kody, Shawn and Andrew, but Gia and Brianna should not be underestimated. Gia has surprised the DS with how disciplined and strong she’s behaved in the final days, and, despite claiming she’d VW on day 8, Brianna pushed through a difficult task of carrying chains and other heavy items up a hill.

‘The Price Is Right’ Audience Goes Wild as Veteran Wins Backyard Set

by jummy84 November 12, 2025
written by jummy84

What To Know

  • Marine radio operator Joshua Sturgil won a backyard set on The Price Is Right‘s Veterans Day episode by playing a near-perfect Hi-Low game.
  • The audience, filled with active-duty and retired military, erupted in cheers as Sturgil correctly identified the three most expensive grocery items to win the prize package worth $6,310.
  • Although Sturgil did not advance to the Showcase, the special episode also featured NCIS: Origins stars presenting a military-themed showcase trip.

The Price Is Right audience had a wild reaction after a veteran won a backyard set on an easy game. The contestant played a near-perfect game on November 11, the Veterans Day tribute episode.

Joshua Sturgil, an active-duty radio operator for the Marines, won the third item up for bid, which was a massage chair with air bag compression. He bid $1,750 on the item, which was the highest bid. The price was actually $1,800. He and host Drew Carey connected since that is what Carey did in the military.

Sturgil played Hi-Low for a UV-protected 7×7 Rubbermaid shed, a robotic lawn mower, a 20-volt, nine-piece tool kit, two grills and grill covers, and a weatherproof 4k Smart TV, worth $6,310.

The way the game works is that the game show contestant is given six grocery store items. There are three items that are more expensive than the other three, and it is up to the contestant to figure out which ones they are in order to win the prizes. The six items were movie theater popcorn, sour cherry spread, Oxi-Clean bathroom cleaner, Skittles, a Power Crunch protein bar, and liquid antacid.

Sturgil picked the antacid as the most expensive item. It was $11.49.

He then went with the sour cherry spread, which was $7.99. For the third most expensive item, Sturgil chose the Oxi-Clean.

“That’s what I would have picked,” Drew Carey said. The cleaner was $6.99.

The next three items had to be under $6.99 in order for him to win. The Skittles were $1.99. The protein bar was $2.19. The popcorn was $4.99, so he won the prize.

Sturgil jumped up and down as the audience, which was filled with active-duty and retired military, roared. His fellow Marines gave a loud chant. Sturgil threw up his hands and encouraged the crowd to cheer louder.

Sturgil spun an .80 on the Showcase Showdown wheel, but didn’t make it to the Showcase as his opponent spun an .85.

Also on the episode were NCIS: Origins stars Austin Stowell and Mariel Molino, who play Marines on the CBS show. The pair presented a showcase, which included a trip to where the drama is filmed.

Ignacia Fernández, a contestant in the Miss World Chile pageant who surprised the judges and viewers with a crushing death metal performance during the semifinals last week, has been crowned the winner of the entire competition.

As we previously reported, the 27-year-old model is also the lead singer of a band called Decessus, and was accompanied by her guitarist Carlos Palma for her performance of one of their songs as part of the pageant’s talent competition.

On Sunday, her daring decision to bring extreme metal to the pageant paid off, as she was named Miss World Chile 2025, and will now move on to compete in next year’s global Miss World competition.

Following her performance in the semifinals, Fernández took to Instagram to write, “Metal has been a fundamental part of who I am as a person and in my life: a refuge, a source of strength and purpose. Being able to express it on stage at Chilevision and Miss Mundo Chile was an opportunity I deeply value. It was a great experience to break down barriers on open television, inspire, be real with it, and show that you don’t have to fear the prejudices of others.”

After winning the entire competition on Sunday, Fernández shared an official photo of her as Miss World Chile 2025 on Instagram, and wrote, “I couldn’t be happier or more grateful! I’m taking on this beautiful challenge with all my energy and heart, ready to represent my country in the best way possible. I promise to give it my all, with passion, hard work, and purpose.”

She added, “Thank you for the worldwide recognition of my singing, a piece of my soul that inspires me to keep growing and dreaming big. Let’s go, Chile… for that crown!”

Deep Cut Friday: ‘B Side Wins Again’ by Public Enemy

by jummy84 November 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Each week, SPIN digs into the catalogs of great artists and highlights songs you might not know for our Deep Cut Friday series.

Vinyl singles have historically featured the most accessible and radio-friendly song on the A side, but every now and again, DJs and music fans have flipped the record over and decided they preferred the B side, elevating classics like the Smiths’ “How Soon Is Now?” and Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive.” Chuck D, who played records for groundbreaking hip-hop shows on the Adelphi University radio station WBAU and on WLIR, made that dynamic the basis of the Public Enemy track “B Side Wins Again.” In the song’s central metaphor, Black America is the overlooked flipside of the country’s white mainstream culture.

Appropriately, “B Side Wins Again” made its debut on the B side of Public Enemy’s 1989 single “Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos.” As with many of Public Enemy’s songs of the era, “B Side Wins Again” is a dense collage of samples, with the Bomb Squad assembling shards of songs by the Commodores, Kool & the Gang, and the Jazz Crusaders. A year later, a slightly remixed version of “B Side Wins Again” gained greater renown on Public Enemy’s third album Fear of a Black Planet, where it appropriately follows an instrumental titled “Leave This Off Your Fuckin’ Charts.”

Public Enemy revisited the song with “B Side Wins Again (Scattershot Remix)” on the 2002 album Revolverlution. Three years later, Chuck D guested on DJ Spooky and Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo’s version of “B Side Wins Again” for their album Drums of Death. In June 2025, Public Enemy began working the song into their concert setlists for the first time in over a decade, with Chuck D rapping just the fourth verse of “B Side Wins Again” during a show in Florence, Italy.

Three more essential Public Enemy deep cuts:

“Timebomb”

By the time Public Enemy’s debut album Yo! Bum Rush the Show was released in 1987, most hip-hop songs had adopted a structure of 16-bar verses in between choruses. “Timebomb,” however, was Chuck D’s old school tour de force, with 66 consecutive bars and no hook.

“Security of the First World”

Public Enemy never scored a Top Ten single, but they influenced a lot of popular music. “Security of the First World,” a brief instrumental from 1988’s It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back, became the basis of a No. 1 pop hit when Lenny Kravitz sampled it for Madonna’s 1990 single “Justify My Love.”

“Move!”

Bronx rapper Sister Souljah replaced Professor Griff as Public Enemy’s ‘Minister of Information’ and made her on-record debut on “Move!” from Apocalypse 91… The Enemy Strikes Black. A year later, Sister Souljah released a solo album, and her comments to the Washington Post about the L.A. riots became a flashpoint of controversy during Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign.

Jassi Weds Jassi REVIEW: Harshh Vardhan Singh Deo Starrer Wins Heart With Humour And Emotions

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Film:
Jassi Weds Jassi

Bubble Rating:
3.5 stars

Director: Paran Bawa

Cast: Harshh Vardhan Singh Deo, Rehmat Rattan, Ranvir Shorey, Sikandar Kher, Sudesh Lehri, Grusha Kapoor, Manu Rishi Chadha

Platform: Theatres

Jassi Weds Jassi Review

In a year packed with big-budget spectacles and over-the-top comedies that try too hard, Jassi Weds Jassi stands out for doing the exact opposite — keeping it simple, rooted, and genuinely funny. Director Paran Bawa crafts a delightful throwback to the era of Khosla Ka Ghosla and Oye Lucky Lucky Oye. He reminded us that heart and humour often matter more than gloss and grandeur. To find out what happens, read our review of Jassi Weds Jassi.

Plot & Setting

Set in Haldwani, Uttar Pradesh (now Uttarakhand), in 1996, the story follows Jaspreet aka Jassi (Harshh Vardhan Singh Deo), a hopeless romantic on a mission to find true love. His quest leads him to Jasmeet (Rehmat Rattan), only to realise that before winning her heart, there is a big hurdle (without giving spoilers), Jaswinder (Sikandar Kher), also nicknamed Jassi

In the process, he disrupts the peaceful life of Sehgal (Ranvir Shorey) and his wife, Sweeti (Grusha Kapoor). Their own marriage is teetering on the edge of chaos. What unfolds is a hilarious series of misunderstandings, emotional twists, and warm moments of love and family.

Performances

At its core, Jassi Weds Jassi works because of its performances. Harshh Vardhan Singh Deo and Rehmat Rattan make for a fresh, endearing pair. Their chemistry feels effortless, sweet, awkward, and real. Harshh brings sincerity to his role, and Rehmat lights up the screen with her innocence and charm.

The veterans, however, steal the show. Ranvir Shorey is an absolute riot, delivering dry humour and comic timing reminiscent of his Khosla Ka Ghosla days. Sikandar Kher, in a surprising turn, flexes his funny bone with understated brilliance; his “tough guy” exterior blends beautifully with situational comedy. Manu Rishi Chadha adds earthy humour, while Sudesh Lehri and Grusha Kapoor lend their seasoned comic energy, though one wishes they had a bit more screen time.

Music

The music album of Jassi Weds Jassi deserves a special mention; it’s one of the most understated yet delightful soundtracks of 2025. Songs like “Chamkeela”, “Make Up Na Laya Kar”, “Bhool Jawanga”, and “Ishq E Desi” bring back the melody and fun of old-school Hindi film music. Each track feels situational yet hummable, with Chamkeela and Make Up already trending on Instagram Reels and Spotify, turning into sleeper chartbusters.

Direction & Writing

Paran Bawa’s direction is clean and confident. He doesn’t chase punchlines — he builds moments. The humour stems from situations and relationships rather than slapstick. The art direction and production design beautifully capture 90s North India, complete with vibrant weddings, quirky relatives, and the nostalgia of a simpler time.

The pre-climax sequence is the film’s crown jewel — a brilliantly executed Ramayana-inspired skit that pays tribute to Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’s iconic Mahabharata play. It’s meta, hilarious, and a smart homage that cinephiles will relish. The kidnapping scene later evokes the chaos and fun of Fukrey and 90s Hollywood comedies, adding to the film’s madcap charm.

Conclusion

Jassi Weds Jassi isn’t a flashy, laugh-a-minute blockbuster. It’s a clean, family-friendly comedy with heart — the kind of film that leaves you smiling as the credits roll. Yes, the first half could’ve been crisper, and a few jokes find their rhythm much later. But its second half more than makes up for it.

With genuine humour, warm nostalgia, and performances that click, Jassi Weds Jassi reminds us of a time when laughter didn’t need noise, just good writing, good actors, and a good heart. The film is a rooted, fun, and feel-good comedy that opens the wedding season with a smile.

[Update] Jay-Z Wins Latest Court Battle As Judge Denies Restraining Order From Alleged Son’s Godmother

Jay-Z scored another victory in his long-running legal battle against Lillie Coley, the godmother of a man who claims to be his biological son. On Friday, a California federal judge denied Coley’s emergency request for a restraining order, which sought to halt a sanctions hearing she described as “retaliatory.”

According to AllHipHop, Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett ruled that Coley failed to meet the legal standard for immediate court action, allowing Jay-Z’s legal team to proceed with efforts to sanction her for what they call “decades-long harassment.”

The case stems from allegations by Rymir Satterthwaite, who has claimed Jay-Z is his father for years. Coley, Satterthwaite’s former guardian, has led the legal push despite multiple dismissals. In 2022, a New Jersey judge barred Coley and Satterthwaite from filing new paternity suits without prior approval.

Jay-Z’s lawyers argue that the filings are ab*sive and unsupported by evidence, while Coley continues to claim he has evaded DNA testing.

What are your thoughts on this longstanding drama?
