Watch Fergie Make Rare Return To Stage to Give Ludacris His Flowers

by jummy84 October 28, 2025

It was just before 9 p.m. Sunday night at Atlanta’s Piedmont Park. Tyler, The Creator, stood on the side of the stage, rapping along word-for-word to one of his favorite MCs as if he were the headliner himself.

Packing the grounds with throngs of devotees was the One Musicfest’s top-billed performer, Ludacris, who rose from local DJ to global fame with hits like ”Money Maker” and ”Southern Hospitality,” and established himself as a top Hollywood draw with the Fast franchise and the Oscar-winning Crash.

As tenured record executive Rich Nice pulled out his phone and started scrolling through Cris’ setlist on his text messages, Tyler tried to sneak a peek.

“When does ‘Move Bi**h’ come on?” Tyler inquired politely. Nice smiled and told him, “Oh, you have a little while before he gets to it.” A few feet away, Busta Rhymes was grinning with pride, elated to see his friend tear the proverbial house down.

Throughout the night, a host of celebrities would join in on an uproarious 25th-anniversary celebration, among them: Jermaine Dupri, Jadakiss, Jeezy, Shawna, I-20, Chingy, Fergie, Usher, and LL Cool J, each giving Cris his flowers as one of hip-hop’s most beloved and talented MCs.

Fergie, whose musical history with Cris goes back to 2007, flew in from Los Angeles, made a rare return to the stage to deliver a one-two punch of hits.

Fergie

Dupri helped Cris kick off the show with “Welcome to Atlanta,” both sporting the Atlanta Braves’ navy blue and red for a crowd that had braved the cold and rain to see the weekend’s headliner.

After “Act a Fool,” Cris went into his bag and dropped one of his biggest signature hits, “Southern Hospitality,” which helped put him on the map in the year 2000.

Later, Cris was assisted on “Area Codes” and his featured rhyme on Ciara’s “Oh” by a collective he called the “Trap Choir,” who hit harmonies and background vocals while he rapped over a band’s live instrumentation.

Chingy, a former signee on Cris’ Disturbing Tha Peace Records, was the next surprise, coming out for “Holidae In” and his mega-hit “Right Thurr.”

Fellow DTP alum Bobby Valentino showed up for “Pimpin’ All Over the World” and “Slow Down,” while Jadakiss and Jeezy brought their street-entrenched lyricism later in the set at separate times.

Cris, who changed to black and yellow colors while Jeezy was holding court with “Put On,” went from heralded hood hierarchy to pop royalty as his show progressed, bringing out “The Dutchess” herself, Fergie — whose only other performance in close to a decade was in 2022 as part of Jack Harlow’s MTV VMAs set.

Fergie appeared to the crowd via a riser housed on a platform where the band played center stage. She began singing “Glamorous,” carefully descending a staircase while Cris held her hand.

“We got Fergie out the muthafu**in’ house! Can y’all please make some noise?” Cris commanded, much to the audience’s delight. “She ain’t perform in over seven years and she came to Atlanta, Georgia!”

Fergie didn’t come all the way from L.A. to perform just one song, Cris cracked. Sure enough, she teased, “They ain’t ready for this,” and dove into “London Bridge (Oh Shit).” That song’s producer and fellow ATL native Polow Da Don, who also worked on “Glamorous,” came out to the stage to help her with ad-libs.

“Thank you so much for being here for me every single time. Everyone give it up for Luuuuuuuuuuudah!” Fergie said after the performance. The energy got even more electric when Usher came out for “Lovers and Friends” and “Yeah” delivered back-to-back.

But just as Cris had surprised the crowd the entire night, he got to witness a performance that even he wasn’t clued in to. His team surprised him by bringing out the man who inspired him to rap — LL Cool J — for “Loungin’” and “I’m Bad.”

True to Rich Nice’s word, Tyler, the Creator did have to wait a while for “Move Bitch.” The fan favorite closed out the set, incorporating drones that lit up the sky with dancing figures.

Afterward, Cris hosted a celebratory dinner at a restaurant called Retreat, where his manager and Chaka Zulu each captained a team in a friendly but rambunctious game of spades, while guests ate and took pictures.

“That was my favorite show ever,” Cris said. “It’s so dope to see hip-hop coming together from all walks, different generations, and [fans] just appreciating the art of what we’ve done —changing our lives. I’ve done a lot of shows over the last 25 years of my life, but I’m going to go ahead and put this one at the top, man.

“The way that it flowed, the love from the city, the friends that came out, all the multiple guest appearances that I’ve done, how we curated the show list, the drone show, the trap choir — man, the surprises! It’s blowing my mind. It’s going to take me a week to process, bro.”

Ludacris and LL Cool J

The rapper and actor was still basking in the glow of LL Cool J. “I don’t even know if I have words for that — I feel like a little kid, man,” he beamed.

“That was one of those moments that was just… I feel so blessed that this man got asked to come do this. He showed up for my Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. So, in my eyes, he’s already done more than what he was supposed to do… I’m just appreciative.”

Among the other performers at One Musicfest on Saturday and Sunday were Busta, with Mary J. Blige, Havoc from Mobb Deep and The Roots, Jazmine Sullivan, Jagged Edge and Lloyd, D-Nice, a reunion of the Dungeon Family, and Future.

Watch: Garden Gnomes Fight Back in ‘Forever’ Funny Animated Short

To battle they go! Omeleto debuted a fun 6-minute film called Forever, an animated short about seemingly friendly garden gnomes going to war. The short is made by a group of students from ENSI (École Nationale Supérieure d’Ingénieurs) in France and was debuted recently at the MyMetaStories festival. The only actual synopsis: “Garden gnomes battle an enemy.” It’s about a group of gnomes who realize they must fight back when a golf ball from a nearby golf course destroys one of their ranks. “This rambunctious animated short turns the seemingly whimsical subject – the quiet lives of garden gnomes – into a surprisingly suspenseful battle over life & dominion, told with thriller-like tension, robust humor and terrific energy.” Presented by UniFrance. With a score by Jérémie Esperet. No voices as it is a dialogue-free journey into a golf course battle-zone. There have been a bunch of animated movies about gnomes already: Gnomeo & Juliet (2011), Gnome Alone (2017), & Sherlock Gnomes (2018). Though I’d say this short is better than nearly all of those.

Forever Animated Short Film

Thanks to GeekTyrant for the tip on this short film. Extended intro from YouTube: “The story begins in a cheerful and peaceful backyard garden, where brightly painted gnomes stand proudly among flowers and trimmed grass in quirky poses and scenarios. Bathed in sunlight and silence, their existence is static yet content. But their serene existence is disrupted when a golf ball arcs over a fence and lands among them, damaging one of their numbers beyond repair. More balls soon land, cracking statues, scattering fragments, shattering the calm, and so the gnomes must band together to battle their unseen, nebulous yet powerful adversary.” Forever is a fun short film directed by a team of filmmakers: Theo Djekou, Pierre Ferrari, Cyrine Jouini, Pauline Philippart, & Anissa Terrier. Created at France’s École Nationale Supérieure d’Ingénieurs. Debuted by Omeleto in partnership with Unifrance and its MyMetaStories festival. For more info, visit the film’s YouTube page. Must Watch Awesome Trailer for ‘Last Samurai Standing’ Action Series

by Alex Billington
October 27, 2025
Source: YouTube

“You fools who live without meaning: kill each other, until just one remains.” Netflix has revealed their full official trailer for their awesome new Japanese action series called Last Samurai Standing, which is not a game show despite the title sounding like it might be. Based on the manga of the same name, it’s about a battle between nearly 300 samurai warriors in Kyoto back in the late 19th century. “One life, one point.” Shujiro enters a deadly game where points are earned for each kill. Who will be the last samurai standing in this sinister scheme? During the Meiji period, 292 warriors, including Shujiro Saga, gather at the Tenryuji Temple in Kyoto at nightfall, lured by the promise of a huge cash prize. Each given a wooden tag, they join a vicious game in which they must steal the tags of their fellow participants and reach Tokyo to win the prize money. Under the veil of night, the temple grounds are filled with unease and the presence of bloodthirsy warriors. When the signal is given to begin the game, the combatants launch into their relentless battle for survival. Let them fight! Starring Junichi Okada, Yumia Fujisaki, Kaya Kiyohara, Hiroshi Tamaki, Hideaki Itō, Gaku Hamada, Hiroshi Abe. This looks as badass as Netflix’s Blue Eye Samurai and as entertaining as the recent Shogun series. Stylish and action-packed! I’ll definitely be watching when it’s out.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Netflix’s action series Last Samurai Standing, from YouTube:

One point per life. The curtain rises on an epic battle royale between brave warriors who lived through an uncertain era. In the late 19th century during the Meiji era, 292 warriors, including Shujiro Saga (Junichi Okada), gather at Tenryuji Temple in Kyoto at nightfall, lured by the promise of a huge cash prize. Each given a wooden tag, they join a vicious game in which they must steal the tags of their fellow participants and reach Tokyo to win the prize money. Under the veil of night, the temple grounds are filled with unease and the presence of bloodthirsy warriors. When the signal is given to begin the game – the combatants launch into their relentless battle for survival. Last Samurai Standing, also titled イクサガミ in Japanese, is a series created & written & directed by Kento Yamaguchi (Tokyo City Girl, Dependence, “Our Fake Marriage”) & Michihito Fujii (The Last 10 Days, Village, Hard Days, The Parades, Shoutai). Also with eps directed by Toru Yamamoto. Creative direction by Junichi Okada. Based on a Japanese manga series of the same name, which is also based on the novel, written by Shogo Imamura and illustrated by Katsumi Tatsuzawa. Produced by Kosuke Oshida & Junichi Okada. Exec produced by Shinichi Takahashi. Netflix will debut Last Samurai Standing streaming on Netflix starting November 13th, 2025 this fall. Who’s down?

The musicians also performed “I Don’t Want to Go Home” at the benefit for Van Zandt’s non-profit TeachRock

On Sunday, Steven Van Zandt held his Party at the Pony, a benefit in support of his non-profit music education organization TeachRock. The star-studded event promised “special appearances from some of Stevie’s Disciples [of Soul] and E Street Band family,” and it delivered with an unannounced appearance from Bruce Springsteen.

Held at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey, the night included performances by Jesse Malin, Darlene Love, Gary U.S. Bonds, Marc Ribler, Anthony Almonte of the Funky Mofo’s, Curtis King Jr., Ozzie Melendez, Eddie Manion, and Barry Danielian. It was also billed as a birthday celebration for Van Zandt and his wife Maureen’s birthdays.

In a clip from the night, Van Zandt and Springsteen performed “I Don’t Want to Go Home,” the Van Zandt-penned title track to Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes’ first album, which was produced by Van Zandt and features two Springsteen compositions.

The night also featured them performing Born to Run’s “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out,” bolstered by a robust audience sing-along.

Trending Stories

Fans reported that they also performed Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band live staple, “Raise Your Hand.”

Fittingly, in the same weekend Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere opened, in which Jeremy Allen White’s Springsteen plays unannounced shows at the Stone Pony (just like Springsteen actually did back in 1982), Springsteen played an unannounced show at the same venue in real life once again.

Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter joined Fred Again.., Phantasy Sound label head Erol Alkan, and Ed Banger Records founder Pedro Winter for a surprise B2B DJ set at Paris’ Centre Pompidou late last night (Saturday, October 25). The occasion was a 20th anniversary celebration for the French record label Because Music. For his first DJ set in 16 years, Bangalter dropped Daft Punk tracks including “Rollin’ & Scratchin’,” “Digital Love,” and “Contact,” plus “Galvanise” by the Chemical Brothers and part of Jonny Greenwood’s One Battle After Another score. Check out footage and photos of the event below.

“Thomas told me in this lift on the way down to the show that the first time he fell in love with electronic music was in this building in 1992,” Fred Again.. wrote on Instagram this morning. “He also told me hasn’t played a proper set without the mask on for 24 years. I didn’t know what to say to either of those things and I still don’t. All I said to him at the end is that I hope it isn’t 24 years til the next.”

Bangalter made his last live appearance—along with his Daft Punk counterpart Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo—during the Weeknd’s performance at the 2017 Grammy Awards. He shared the solo album Mythologies in 2023. Daft Punk joined Fortnite earlier this year, adding songs from their catalog and their iconic TB3 and GM08 helmets to the video game.

Francis Ford Coppola Selling Million-Dollar Watch to Recoup Megalopolis Losses

Francis Ford Coppola Selling Million-Dollar Watch to Recoup Megalopolis Losses

by jummy84 October 26, 2025
written by jummy84

If you and I make a bad financial decision, we might get by through selling plasma or eating canned tuna for a week. But if you’re Francis Ford Coppola, you bounce back from possible financial ruin by selling million-dollar watches.

It’s no secret that 2024’s Megalopolis, Coppola’s long-gestating pet project, was a bona fide financial bust. After the iconic director poured in $120 million of his own money (a combination of various personal assets alongside a majority stake in the Delicato Family Wines), Megalopolis earned just $14.4 million at the box office. Now, in hopes of recouping a portion of the small fortune that’d devastate anyone else, Coppola has tapped New York City auction house Phillips to sell seven singular timepieces (per The Hollywood Reporter).

With the auction set for December 6th and 7th in New York City, the undisputed crown jewel of the so-called “Coppola Collection” is the F.P. Journe FCC Prototype. According to Phillips’ own Paul Boutros, Coppola worked hand-in-hand with famed watchmaker Francis-Paul Journe to craft this watch. Perhaps its most dazzling feature is its “black-treated titanium hand,” which was developed over the span of nearly a decade’s worth of conversations between Journe/his staff and Coppola.

Related Video

The hand (which draws inspiration a 16th century prosthetic crafted by French physician Ambroise Paré) tells the time via “the fingers and thumb extending or retracting in a set of sequences that indicate different hours.” Meanwhile, the minutes are “determined by a white rotating ring around the perimeter.” It’s one of only three versions ever made by Journe, with the last watch selling at a 2021 charity auction for 4.5 million Swiss francs. (Several production versions have also been made for various clients, with each watch going for $1 million.)

Might Coppola’s own Prototype nab such a lofty figure? That’s the hope of the Phillips auction house, and they’ve got some solid supporting evidence to value the Prototype at $1 million. Back in 2017, that’s exactly how much they earned for a Paul Newman-worn Rolex. (Ironically enough, Coppola has worn his Prototype watch — at the May 2024 premiere of Megalopolis.) At the same time, Phillips’ own Boutros admits they “don’t know how the market will price” the watch, so it could go for even higher final figure. That sound you hear? It’s Coppola’s accountants, cheering wildly.

The other standout from the collection is yet another masterpiece from Journe, the Chronomètre à Résonance. Gifted to Coppola by his late wife Eleanor Coppola, the timepiece is accompanied by “an advertisement for the Résonance, which Francis Ford Coppola saved and was later found by his wife, leading to the gift.” That watch is slated to be auctioned for between $120,000 and $240,000.

The last pieces in the Coppola auction are a Blancpain Minute Repeater (auctioning for between $15,000 and $30,000); a Patek Philippe Calatrava ref. 3919 (auctioning for between $6,000 and $12,000); and a Patek Philippe World Time ref. 5130G (auctioning for between $15,000 and $30,000). Two final watches, carry no reserve (i.e., no minimum price): a BreguetClassique ref. 5140 (auctioning between $4,000 to $8,000) and an IWC Portugieser (auctioning between $3,000 to $6,000).

Coppola has never shied away from the financial hardships he faced after the release of Megalopolis; back in March, he said he had no money on-hand for his undetermined next project. At the same time, Coppola has remained fiercely proud of the film despite its robust failures. He even accepted a Razzie Award back in February, calling it a “distinctive honor” to earn nominations for worst director, screenplay, and picture “at a time when so few have the courage to go against the prevailing trends of contemporary moviemaking!”

And, sure, Coppola made a decidedly trash film, but you’ve got to commend him for putting everything on the line and being willing to sell beloved personal heirlooms just to back it all up. He believed in this film, and what it would add to his already celebrated filmography, and executed it exactly as he saw fit (even when others remained uncertain or unmoved). Would any other director be as unwavering in their commitment to bringing their vision to life regardless of the life-altering consequences? Maybe Tommy Wiseau, but who knows for sure?

Ahead of the auction, Phillips will displaying Coppola’s watches to the public from December 3rd to 5th; head here for more information.
