First Trailer for Exciting New ‘Star Wars: Galactic Racer’ Video Game

“The Galaxy needs racing!” Check out this first look trailer for Star Wars: Galactic Racer launching to play in 2026. Sometimes we break our own rules and post trailers for video games – this new one also comes from The Game Awards. When I was growing up, I was a huge fan of the N64 game Star Wars Episode I: Racer, featuring pod racing from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (both released the same year in 1999). So I will admit that I am kinda excited to see that 27 years later they’re bringing back racing to the Star Wars universe with this brand new game arriving next year. Galactic Racer is a runs-based, high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the lawless Outer Rim of the Star Wars galaxy. The campaign is set in the New Republic Era and takes place on the desert planet Jakku as seen in 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. With the Empire gone and the galaxy rebuilding, The Galactic League is formed: an underground, unsanctioned circuit where syndicates bankroll chaos and champions are forged. This looks like it’s going to be plenty of fun to play – maybe there will even be a podrace in it somewhere as hinted at with the final shot.

Here’s the first official trailer for Fuse Games’s game Star Wars: Galactic Racer, from YouTube:

Star Wars: Galactic Racer Poster

“No Force. No prophecy. Just skill, strategy, and the will to rise.” Lucasfilm Games’ Star Wars: Galactic Racer is a runs-based, high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the Outer Rim. With the Empire gone and the galaxy rebuilding, The Galactic League is created: an underground, unsanctioned circuit where syndicates bankroll chaos and champions are forged. At the heart of it all is Shade, a lone racer with a dream of glory and revenge. For Shade, the League isn’t just a race; it’s a shot at reclaiming destiny. But standing in Shade’s way is Kestar, a ruthless rival who has his own power-hungry plans for the League. As the Galactic League rises, so does the rivalry that could define it. Shade must forge alliances, outpace rivals, and survive long enough to become an elite racing pilot. Star Wars: Galactic Racer is a racing video game created & developed by Fuse Games; published by Secret Mode and Lucasfilm Games. The game will be available for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S when it launches sometimes in 2026. Stay tuned for updates. For more info on the game + more news, visit the official site. Who’s excited to play?

How ‘Culinary Class Wars’ Turned Korean Cultural Codes Into Global TV

by jummy84 November 4, 2025
written by jummy84

Netflix’s first Korean culinary competition series has quickly become a breakout global hit — with Taiwan ranking among its most enthusiastic markets.

The Taiwan Creative Content Fest hosted producer Eunji Kim of Studio Slam, who broke down how the series evolved from a rough idea into a fully realized format.

Before “Culinary Class Wars,” Kim and her team produced the 2020 talent show “Sing Again,” which spotlighted Korean singers who had released albums but never found mainstream recognition. That experience formed the foundational idea for their next project. “We wanted to make a competition show for chefs,” Kim said. “But our first question was: how do we stand out against long-running giants like ‘Top Chef’?”

For the team, the answer was rooted in local culture. “This is a Korean variety show. We needed a cultural symbol that speaks directly to Korean audiences,” Kim noted. In Korea, the spoon is a potent symbol of social class. That concept inspired one of the show’s defining visual cues: the split between white-spoon chefs, representing the culinary elite, and black-spoon chefs, representing lesser-known talent.

Not all participants immediately embraced the class-based format, but the creative team considered it central to the show’s DNA. From early development, they committed to the dramatic tension of a concealed classification system as the core engine of the competition. “From a production standpoint, we held firm to the show’s structure,” Kim said. “But how the chefs performed — how they presented themselves, how they marketed themselves — that was entirely improvised.”

Through careful editing and narrative shaping, the team ultimately found that cultural specificity didn’t limit the show; instead, its themes resonated widely with international viewers. Following the first season’s success, the response from the culinary community shifted dramatically. “For Season 2, many chefs who turned us down the first time actually came back to us after watching the show,” Kim revealed. “That boomerang effect proved that our approach wasn’t just creatively sound — it had real commercial value.”

From Korean cuisine and culturally rooted symbols to a competition format that speaks a universal entertainment language, “Culinary Class Wars” has achieved exceptional visibility on Netflix while pioneering a new style of reality-competition storytelling. As the series heads into a new season, global audiences are eagerly anticipating even more compelling narratives that go far beyond the kitchen.

Adam Driver Pitched Kylo Ren ‘Star Wars’ Movie With Steven Soderbergh

by jummy84 October 21, 2025
written by jummy84

Adam Driver and Steven Soderbergh almost brought their own twist to a galaxy far, far away.

In a recent sit down with AP, Driver said that over the span of two years, he and Soderbergh developed a script called “The Hunt for Ben Solo.” The film would have taken place after the events of “The Rise of Skywalker,” and followed Driver’s Kylo Ren, aka Ben Solo, on a search for redemption.

Soderbergh roughed out the story with “Logan Lucky” screenwriter Rebecca Blunt. Scott Z. Burns later joined to pen the script.

“I always was interested in doing another ‘Star Wars,’” Driver said. “I had been talking about doing another one since 2021. Kathleen [Kennedy] had reached out. I always said: ‘With a great director and a great story, I’d be there in a second.’ I loved that character and loved playing him.”

Driver described the film as “handmade and character-driven,” comparing it to 1980’s “The Empire Strikes Back.” The “White Noise” star said that that film is the “standard” of what a “Star Wars” movie should be.”

Soderbergh and Driver pitched “The Hunt for Ben Solo” to Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni and Cary Beck at Lucasfilm, who “loved the idea.” However, when they took the script over to Disney, they were shut down.

“We presented the script to Lucasfilm. They loved the idea,” Driver recalled. “They totally understood our angle and why we were doing it. We took it to Bob Iger and Alan Bergman, and they said no. They didn’t see how Ben Solo was alive. And that was that.”

Lucasfilm declined to comment.

Soderbergh told AP of the experience, “I really enjoyed making the movie in my head. I’m just sorry the fans won’t get to see it.” Driver agreed, calling the project “one of the coolest (expletive) scripts I had ever been a part of.”

Driver debuted as Kylo Ren in 2015’s “The Force Awakens,” and reprised the role in 2017’s “The Last Jedi” and 2019’s “The Rise of Skywalker.”

Fascinating Doc Film ‘Pistachio Wars’ Trailer About California’s Water

by Alex Billington

“Why does no one talk about it?” Watermelon Pics is releasing this fascinating, upsetting new documentary film titled Pistachio Wars, a remarkable true story about the billionaires behind the California pistachio farms. Made by investigative journalists who spent years looking into the truth behind what’s going on. They follow a trickle of information upstream, leading to disgusting revelations about California’s water and the people hoarding it to build their own agricultural empire. As Los Angeles burns, everyone wants to know… why do cities in California often seem to constantly go up in flames? Journalist Yasha Levine and filmmaker Rowan Wernham take a road trip into the dark heart of the California Dream. They look at the system and the people that have allowed unchecked development to rage across the state, destroying the environment and creating mega-cities and mega-farms. Right at the center of their story is Stewart & Lynda Resnick. They’re billionaires who live in Beverly Hills. And they have a monopoly on the pistachio trade. Of course they do! It’s always some greedy bastards like this ruining everything just to hold onto their piles of money. I wish everyone could enjoy delicious, health pistachios without this kind of terrible environmental damage.

Official trailer for Yasha Levine & Rowan Wernham’s doc film Pistachio Wars, direct from YouTube:

“Plays like a Chinatown for the age of global warming — complete with mystery, political corruption and at the center of it, the question we’ve confronted since civilization began: who gets the water?” –Filmmaker Adam McKay

Pistachio Wars Doc Poster

Journalist Yasha Levine follows a lead about a water sale between a farmer and a small desert town—and discovers a hidden side to California’s healthy snack industry. At the very center of the story are a couple named Stewart & Lynda Resnick. They’re billionaires. They live in the flashiest mansion in Beverly Hills and have a monopoly on the pistachio trade. They’ve taken control of California’s water—draining rivers, building plantations in the middle of a desert, leaving a trail of environmental collapse. Towns ravaged by drought, farms built on oil fields, mass extinction, a water heist straight from the plot of Chinatown, and… war with Iran? It’s a road trip into the dark heart of the American Dream. Pistachio Wars is co-directed by journalists / filmmakers Yasha Levine and Rowan Wernham, both making their feature directorial debut. Produced by Rowan Wernham; executive produced by Thierry Jutel and Adam McKay. This initially premiered at the 2024 Doc Edge Festival in NZ last year. Watermelon Pictures has debuted Pistachio Wars direct-to-VOD on October 7th, 2025 this fall. It’s available to watch now – head to the film’s official site.

Star Wars Visions Season 3: A New Chapter In Galactic Storytelling | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 September 29, 2025
written by jummy84

Every era of Star Wars has pushed boundaries, but Visions has been something else entirely. When the first season launched in 2021, it wasn’t just another addition to the galaxy’s ever-expanding canon, it was an invitation. Lucasfilm handed the keys of its most treasured universe to creators across the globe and asked them to dream. The result was bold, risky, and unlike anything fans had seen before. Now, with Star Wars: Visions Season 3 arriving on Disney+ October 29, 2025, that invitation feels even more urgent. This is where Star Wars isn’t just retold, it’s reimagined.

This season carries forward the DNA of Visions: daring, self-contained stories that bend form while staying rooted in the saga’s eternal themes of destiny, hope, and rebellion. Executive producers Jacqui Lopez, Josh Rimes, and James Waugh once again oversee the anthology, but the brilliance lies in the hands of the global filmmakers, from Asia to Europe, Latin America to India, who transform Star Wars into something personal and universal all at once.

Animation is more than a tool here, it’s the heartbeat. Each short feels like an experiment in style and storytelling: some drawn by hand with painterly textures, some breaking the limits of CGI, others blending aesthetics in ways that redefine what Star Wars can look like. Where George Lucas once pushed special effects to create new worlds, these filmmakers now push cultural identity and artistry into the franchise, proving the Force belongs to everyone.

While casting details remain guarded, past seasons have shown how wide the reach can be. Performers like Lucy Liu, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Alison Brie, and Neil Patrick Harris lent their voices alongside local talents, striking a balance between Hollywood presence and authentic global storytelling. Season 3 is poised to expand that tradition, amplifying voices that might otherwise never echo in a galaxy so familiar to fans.

And that is perhaps the real beauty of Visions. In a franchise often tied down by canon, timelines, and fan debates, this anthology is free. It is Star Wars unshackled, a place where myths, cultures, and animation techniques collide. For those who grew up with the saga and those discovering it through streaming marathons, TikTok clips, or fandom chatter, Visions offers the same promise: a chance to rediscover the galaxy with new eyes.

As Star Wars: Visions Season 3 streams between October 29, 2025 and January 29, 2026, it’s more than just another release on Disney+. It’s a reminder that stories live longest when they are shared, reshaped, and retold through many voices. In an entertainment landscape where big franchises often cling to safety, Visions dares to be fearless. And that’s why, almost half a century after Luke first looked at the twin suns, the galaxy far, far away still feels infinite.

Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver Star Wars Film

by jummy84 September 22, 2025
written by jummy84

“Star Wars” fans are one step closer to returning to a galaxy far, far away.

The first trailer for director Jon Favreau’s “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” the upcoming “Star Wars” film starring Pedro Pascal from his “Mandalorian” Disney+ series, has been revealed.

“The Mandalorian and Grogu” was first announced in January 2024 as the next “Star Wars” movie in development, and it’s set to hit theaters on May 22, 2026. In addition to Pascal’s masked Mandalorian character and his adorable sidekick Grogu (better known as Baby Yoda), the cast also includes Sigourney Weaver as a fighter pilot, Jeremy Allen White as Jabba the Hutt’s son and Jonny Coyne as an imperial warlord.

“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created,” Favreau said when the film was first revealed. “The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”

The “Mandalorian” series takes place after the fall of the Galactic Empire in “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi,” where a lone mercenary (a Mandalorian from the planet Mandalore) makes his way through the outer reaches of the lawless galaxy. Along the way, he meets Grogu (a force-sensitive creature from the same species as Jedi Master Yoda), and the two form an unlikely bond as they trek across the galaxy far, far away, avoiding the vestiges of the Empire and meeting characters from across the Star Wars canon.

Favreau is producing the film alongside Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and Filoni, Lucasfilm CCO and former supervising director of the beloved animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”
