‘Let’s Move On’, Sonakshi Sinha Calmly Handled All The Trolls Over Her Mosque Visit In Abu Dhabi, Deets Inside

Actress Sonakshi Sinha has once again been at the center of controversy, this time for a visit to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi with her husband, actor Zaheer Iqbal, during Karva Chauth. While many fans admired the peaceful moments shared by the couple, some trolls targeted Sonakshi for wearing slippers inside the mosque, accusing her of disrespecting the sacred space. But true to her composed nature, the actress responded in a way that left the critics speechless.

Sonakshi posted a video and photos on Instagram from her visit to the mosque, where she can be seen wearing a headscarf and slippers. The caption read, “Found a little peace here in Abu Dhabi!” While her post received plenty of love and positive comments from fans, it also attracted harsh criticism from some users. One such troll wrote, “It’s a grave sin to enter a mosque with shoes.”

In her typical style, Sonakshi responded succinctly, saying, “Move on.” However, she didn’t stop there. In a follow-up comment, she clarified, “That’s why I didn’t enter with shoes. Look carefully, we’re outside the mosque. Before going in, he showed us where to keep our shoes and took them off. We know this much. Now let’s move ahead.” With this response, Sonakshi effectively silenced the critic, showing that she was aware of the proper customs and practices while still maintaining a calm and respectful tone.

Despite the criticism, Sonakshi remained unfazed by the advice of some social media users who suggested she should cover her head more completely. She continued to focus on the positivity around her, choosing not to engage with negativity. Sonakshi and Zaheer Iqbal’s relationship has been one that defies boundaries, including religious ones. The couple tied the knot in a private court ceremony at home in June 2024, with religion never being a barrier for them. In an interview, Sonakshi shared that religion was never an issue between her and Zaheer. Her in-laws, she said, have always been respectful of her beliefs, and they celebrate each other’s festivals with equal enthusiasm.

bitchy | Eden: Duchess Meghan will visit the UK by the end of 2025, ‘bearing humble pie’

by jummy84 October 11, 2025
written by jummy84

This is the third week in a row in which the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden has devoted an entire column to one particular conspiracy theory. The conspiracy: the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are desperate to leave their palatial Montecito home and come groveling back to the UK on hands and knees. Then, once they have relocated back to the UK (??) they plan to do the most to “undermine” the Prince and Princess of Wales. Additionally, Eden believes that this sinister plot also involves members of the Starmer government, and god knows, possibly a handful of Tory PMs as well!! Meaning, Eden claims that government officials are now actively lobbying for a Sussex Restoration, without any consideration for the pitiful feelings of William and Kate! Well, would you like to hear Eden draw out this conspiracy even further? Some highlights from his latest column:

British royalists continue to act as if France is part of their kingdom: As soon as the Duke of Sussex lost a legal challenge over his taxpayer-funded security in Britain back in May, he rushed to give a BBC interview in which he admitted to being ‘devastated’ and declared, emotionally: ‘I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.’ Surely, then, I wasn’t the only one surprised to learn that his wife, Meghan, was in Paris last weekend? The French capital was, of course, the place where Prince Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, was killed in a car crash after she voluntarily gave up her official Metropolitan Police protection officers. So you might have thought Paris would be the last place the Duke would want his wife to be, particularly as he was not with her.

Meghan visited Paris as part of Project Thaw: Given Harry’s security concerns for his family – which were sufficiently deep that he was prepared to sue his father’s Government at great personal expense – questions have been asked about the real reason for the Duchess of Sussex’s first visit to Europe since she attended the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf more than two years ago. Now, I can provide some answers. Meghan’s French sojourn was part of the ‘Establishment plot’ – backed by some senior politicians and courtiers – that I have written about here in previous weeks. And I’ve even discovered its name. It’s known as ‘Project Thaw’ because the aim is to ‘warm up’ the Duke’s and Duchess’s frosty relationships with the rest of the Royal Family and with the British people. And what could be better than pictures of her being greeted with kisses by the European fashion pack as well as Vogue supremo Dame Anna Wintour?

More about Project Thaw: ‘This trip is all part of the “thaw” process,’ a friend of the California-based couple tells me. ‘Project Thaw’ aims to melt that [British] hostility, building on the perceived success of the duke’s visit to Britain last month when he carried out charity engagements and, crucially, was invited to Clarence House for tea with King Charles. It was the first face-to-face meeting between father and son in 19 months. That was followed by a visit to Kyiv, where Harry just happened to arrive on the same train to the war-torn Ukrainian capital as the newly appointed Foreign Secretary, Yvette Cooper. I understand that Ms Cooper is among the Establishment figures who admire the duke and want him to play a bigger part in public life.

Eden predicts that Meghan will visit the UK by the end of the year: I can disclose that the next planned move in the plot – or ‘process’ as their pals prefer to put it, suggesting a natural progression – is the couple’s first joint visit to Britain since they attended a charity engagement in September 2022, then stayed on for Queen Elizabeth’s funeral. ‘Meghan will return to Britain before the year is out,’ the friend tells me, adding jokingly that she will be ‘bearing humble pie’. It remains to be seen whether ‘bearing humble pie’ – and eating it, presumably – is sufficient to placate the Royal Family or the British people.

[From The Daily Mail]

When Meghan lived in the UK, they did the most to break her, but she remained unbroken. When she left, they spent years trying to humble her and smear her from afar, but she still reclaimed her joy. Now these people live in a delusional world in which they cast Meghan as a woman desperate to be welcomed or accepted by the very same people who have tormented her for the past eight years. They position her as the outcast, servile and willing to eat “humble pie.” And think about this as well – all of this is because they’re trying to claim ownership of her to the extent that they’re arguing “Meghan visited Paris, which means she obviously wants to come back to England.” Like… did Britain colonize France and no one told me?

Want your children to visit you more? 7 ways to become more inviting parents

by jummy84 September 29, 2025
written by jummy84

The equation between parents and children undergoes a radical transformation once the kids grow up and become independent. Once always seeking the attention of their parents, grown-up adults are less likely to look for their company.

Want your children to visit you more often? Seven ideas to become more inviting parents.(Representative image/Unsplash)

Older parents, on the other hand, yearn for the visits of their children and want to feel as if they still matter. However, a difference of values and a lack of understanding can often create a wide gulf between the two parties, making their meetings a rarity.

A recent article on artfulparent.com listed seven ways to overcome this challenge. These seven ideas can make children more willing to visit their parents and strengthen their bond.

Have a positive and cheerful disposition

Anyone would feel much more comfortable if there is a happy and welcoming vibe in your house. If there is sullenness and tension in the atmosphere, your kids would be reluctant to pay you a visit. So, lighten up and enjoy the little things in life.

Be mindful of your children’s personal space

Growing up means leaving the protective shadow of parents and taking one’s own decisions. However, if parents remain meddlesome in the personal affairs of their children, the kids would be disinclined to visit and open up to them. So, respect the personal space of your offspring.

Cherish good memories

Getting older means less physical activity, but that can be compensated for by having a large store of happy memories from your life. So, when children come calling, do not stop from going down the memory lane and look back fondly at your memories. Kids would love hearing about their past adventures.

Keep useful stuff in store

No matter how grown-up kids are, there are certain things about them that only their parents know. So, always have stuff that your kids find useful. From food items that carry nostalgia to old sweaters, these items can make a visit by children more enjoyable.

Be a patient listener

Everyone wants to be heard. When your kids were little, they wanted to tell you about what happened at school or how they were dealing with new challenges. Grown-ups want to have the same pleasure. So, listen to your kids with interest. Nothing is more enticing than a sympathetic ear.

Let bygones be bygones

In any relationship, there is a fair share of unpleasant memories. If you want your children to enjoy being with you, do not rake those up. They will only sour the atmosphere and push them away. Forgive and forget is the way to go.

Express your feelings

Never leave thoughts unexpressed. Do let your children know how much their visits matter. Being reticent may lead to a misunderstanding that they are unwanted. Avoid giving this impression and open up about your joy.

FAQs:

What is the biggest benefit of being in touch with your kids?

As one gets older, they lose their social circle. In such circumstances, having your kids around means you remain mentally and emotionally active.

What causes parents and children to drift apart?

Grudges, disputes, and arguments can all spoil this relationship. Make sure that your time with your children is pleasant, not sullen.

Do children still need the guidance of their parents?

Everyone looks for positive advice and feedback. If a person can get this from their parents, there is nothing like it. So, be useful for your children and treat them like friends, not wards.

bitchy | Prince Harry claps back on the Sun’s curious insider story of his Clarence House visit

by jummy84 September 28, 2025
written by jummy84

On September 10, Prince Harry traveled from his event at Imperial College London’s Centre for Blast Injury Studies to Clarence House. King Charles’s courtiers tipped off the press, and dozens of photographers and royal rota were waiting outside of Clarence House to catch a glimpse of Harry’s SUV being waved in. Harry met with his father for less than an hour. It was the first time Charles and Harry had been in the same room since February 2024. Harry has said very little about the meeting, and when he spoke to the Guardian in Ukraine, he spoke in generalities about wanting to visit the UK more often, especially over the next year.

Harry has kept up his end of the deal struck with Charles, the deal being “Harry can’t talk about Charles or the meeting, but Charles and his rancid courtiers can freely brief about it.” Add to all of this, Prince William has been having a nervous breakdown over Harry’s UK visit and Clarence House meeting ever since, and William and his courtiers can’t shut about it. There are at least two royal courts (Charles and William) doing the most to impose their narratives about Harry, his UK trip, the meeting and what it all means. Don’t forget about Camilla, spreading her rottweiler narratives as well. On Friday, the Sun dropped their big exclusive about “what happened at the meeting,” with sources claiming to have insider information from Harry’s side. Harry’s spokesperson furiously issued a statement within hours of the Sun’s publication, so the Sun basically had to rewrite their piece to include Harry’s denials. Some highlights:

Harry the official visitor: The reunion of Prince Harry and King Charles saw them swap presents and kisses on the cheek — but there were no plans made for the future, The Sun can reveal. After the 53-minute summit at Clarence House, wild rumours circulated that the pair had discussed Harry resuming some royal duties on a “half-in, half-out” basis. However, we can now reveal, the pair’s sit down earlier this month was “distinctly formal” and there is still no prospect of Harry returning to the family fold. Harry was surprised by the formalities of his recent reunion with the King — and even joked he felt more like an “official visitor” than a family member, we can reveal. He handed his father a framed photograph of their children Archie and Lilibet to mark their reunion – but Harry and Meghan were not in the family photo.

Harry’s spokesperson: “Recent reporting of the Duke’s view of the tone of the meeting is categorically false. The quotes attributed to him are pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son. Presumably, those same sources have also chosen to disclose that gifts were exchanged. While we would have preferred such details to remain private, for the sake of clarity we can confirm that a framed photograph was handed over, however the image did not contain the Duke and Duchess.”

Charles gave Harry a birthday gift: In a touching return gesture the King, 76, gave his youngest son a birthday present, as he was to turn 41 just six days later. But the duke was understood to have described the meeting with his father as “very official, like an official visit”. Insiders said the awkward exchange was carried out in similar style to that of dignitaries and visitors at royal residences.

Charles wants to have tea with Harry again: The King’s door remains open for another private cup of tea next time Harry is back in London. Harry was whisked into Clarence House in the back of a Land Rover to see his father while on an “faux royal” tour earlier this month. The Sun can reveal they greeted each other warmly with kisses on the cheek, before swapping gifts and having tea privately. Harry’s visit was sandwiched between two other audiences for the King. He arrived at 5.21pm and left at 6.14pm for an Invictus Games reception. Charles’s face-to-face with Harry was the King’s shortest audience of the day, after flying down earlier from Balmoral for engagements.

But what about PEG?!!? Claims the meeting was part of concerted efforts to undermine Prince William’s relationship with his father have also been denied. Harry’s spokesman said: “Categorically not. Harry is not trying to drive a wedge between the Prince of Wales and the King.” A source close to William has branded reports that he and the King are at odds as “rubbish”.

[From The Sun & The Royalist]

This is why I’ve always believed it’s stupid for Harry to even try to adhere to Charles’s dumb “rules.” The rules being “Harry can’t say anything about Charles” and “Harry has to coordinate schedules so that he doesn’t overshadow Charles’s big events.” Harry is giving away his two biggest advantages – his ability to correct the record, and the ability to get attention no matter what, especially at the expense of the left-behinds. Clearly, Harry has no problem correcting the record and I appreciate how responsive Team Sussex was on this story. As Tom Sykes noted in his coverage, “By suggesting that the same individual who leaked the gift also spun a line about a stiff, diplomatic tone to the meeting, Harry draws a line straight back to the top tier of his father’s household..” Exactly. As much as we’ve correctly assumed that Prince William and his courtiers are largely responsible for the panicked, paranoid and enraged briefings in recent weeks, the truth is that Charles and his people have been behind several of these stories. Including this one.

bitchy | Princess Kate & William made a surprise visit to Southport today

by jummy84 September 24, 2025
written by jummy84

After the Prince and Princess of Wales’s busywork theatrics in the past two weeks, I expected them to take a multiweek vacation to recover. I guess that isn’t happening yet – surely, the kids’ school has a half-term break coming up? So, dreadfully, William and Kate are back at work yet again, the poor exhausted sausages. They stepped out today – in what was an unannounced appearance – in Southport. Southport was devastated in July 2024 when a man with a knife violently attacked adults and children at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class. King Charles was sent to Southport to meet with the victims’ families pretty quickly, but William and Kate waited months to visit. Well, today was their second visit.

They visited the Farnborough Road Infant and Junior School. They pulled kids out of class to greet Kate and William (only Kate crouched down to the kids’ level). They also met with a victim’s family and her teachers and friends. Kate told the kids: “I’m very impressed with all of you and all the hard work you’re doing. What a fantastic thing to learn to raise money to help other people. Keep up your hard work.”

This kind of visit isn’t about clothes, and I don’t have the IDs on Kate’s ensemble. She wore grey trousers (with cuffs??), a grey overcoat and a pink pussybow blouse. I kind of think the pussybow ruins the look – a regular pink blouse would have been fine here. Even Kate’s hairpiece seemed subdued out of respect for the Southport community.

Visit Launches New Digital Exhibitor Manual to Streamline Event Preparation Worldwide

by jummy84 September 22, 2025
written by jummy84

Visit, the end-to-end event technology provider, has announced the global launch of its new Exhibitor Manual, a digital solution designed to simplify and modernise the way organisers manage exhibitor information, deadlines, and requirements.

Traditionally managed through static PDFs or email attachments, exhibitor manuals often create inefficiencies and versioning issues. Visit’s new Exhibitor Manual integrates directly into Visit Create, giving organisers full control to design and update their manuals in real time, while providing exhibitors with a clear, accessible overview of everything they need to prepare for an event.

Key features include:

  • Task Tracking – Organisers can set tasks and deadlines, while exhibitors can track progress and receive reminders, ensuring nothing is missed.

  • Personalised Content – Information, documents, and requirements can be tailored by exhibitor type or package level.

  • Centralised Access – Exhibitors log in to one platform to find all event-related information, forms, and services.

  • Seamless Integration – Works within the Visit event tech stack, alongside registration, lead capture, and event apps.

“The Exhibitor Manual has been a long-requested feature, and we’re proud to deliver a tool that makes the exhibitor journey more transparent and efficient,” said Cristina Achim, Head of Product Management, Visit. “For organisers, it means less manual follow-up and fewer errors. For exhibitors, it means clarity and confidence in preparing for events.”

The new Exhibitor Manual is available immediately to all Visit clients worldwide.

bitchy | King Charles is ‘thrilled’ about the Trump visit & ‘very pleased with the global optics’

It’s interesting reading the differences between the British coverage and American coverage of the Trumps’ state visit to the UK. The British political media is mostly happy that it’s over and they seem unsettled by how the Windsors ingratiated themselves so thoroughly with the Trumps. The American coverage is more like “well, Trump wants nothing more than to be a despotic king, so he was really impressed with the dumbass carriage ride, I guess.” Everyone’s pointing out that the Trumps were localized, almost entirely, inside and around Windsor Castle. They really didn’t want the Trumps to interact with any of the locals. Meanwhile, the royalists are trying to make it sound like a good thing that Trump is such a huge fan of Prince William, Kate and King Charles. “Nazi-approved” is such a weird flex for British royalty, you know? From Vanity Fair:

The inclusion of Prince William and Princess Kate at such a high level during Trump’s state visit has been “unusual,” according to royal watchers, with both the Prince and Princess of Wales taking on more high-profile roles. As well as greeting President Trump and the first lady at Windsor, which is standard for state visits, William and Catherine were invited to have a private meeting with the Trumps which a Kensington Palace aide described as “warm and friendly.”

“It seems as though Trump has an eye on the future generation,” says Ingrid Seward, editor of Majesty magazine. “He’s obviously genuinely impressed by William and who wouldn’t be impressed by Kate. She looked incredible. It seems a lot of effort has been made for the Trumps and the Waleses to spend some time together on this trip.”

“I would expect that William and Catherine would have been quite touched and maybe a bit taken aback by so many compliments,” adds Seward. “It’s very flattering to have someone as powerful as Trump praising you and treating you like a very special friend. It’s unusual for the Head of State to be that personal, but it’s Trump’s style. The royals have to deal with so many dullards, Trump is actually really refreshing. He’s outspoken and quite exciting to be around because you don’t know what’s going to happen. Catherine looked quite taken aback when he praised her so personally. She looked a bit embarrassed, but that’s Trump. I think the royals are probably amused and bemused by it all.”

During Wednesday’s dinner in Windsor, Trump made a point about being the only US president in history to be granted the privilege of two state visits and joked about hoping he would be the only one to make King Charles laugh.

A source close to the king told Vanity Fair that Charles has said the state visit “could not be better.” Adds the source, “I understand that His Majesty the King is thrilled about the visit and very pleased with the global optics of it all. The Royal Family really did pull out all the stops.”

[From Vanity Fair]

“The Royal Family really did pull out all the stops” – again, they didn’t have much of a choice. Charles HAD to do all of this, he was outmaneuvered by Keir Starmer and Trump himself. Charles had to roll out the red carpet and entertain a decrepit old white supremacist with shiny objects. The only real choices made for this state visit were about Prince William and Kate. Kate especially didn’t have to be featured so prominently, she didn’t have to agree to sit next to Trump at the banquet (that should have been a job for Camilla), she didn’t have to agree to a solo event with Melania. Choices were also made to push William and Kate aside, especially at the welcoming ceremony, when the Waleses were literally shooed away and kicked off the dais. So… yeah, some interesting things of note happened for hardcore royal-watchers, but the broad strokes of the state visit are that it was “successful” on both sides of the Atlantic.

bitchy | The Daily Mail sent reporters to Montecito to stalk the Sussexes during Trump’s visit

by jummy84 September 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Yesterday, we talked about the Duchess of Sussex’s quiet September. Meghan and her As Ever team have only posted a few Instagram pics this month, and there have been no big announcements. Meghan was very quiet while Prince Harry was in the UK and Ukraine, but I expected her to post about all of the lovely Ukrainian gifts Harry brought back. She hasn’t. I did think it was interesting timing when, on Wednesday, As Ever posted a new pic of Meghan. That was in the heat of the Trump state visit. Well, it looks like the Daily Mail also hoped that the Sussexes would do or say something this week. They weren’t content with simply covering the left-behinds as they entertained an orange fascist. No, the Mail sent reporters TO Montecito specifically to stalk the Sussexes.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were laying low in Montecito as the rest of his family lived the highest of high life at Wednesday’s State banquet for visiting President Donald Trump and Melania. After weeks in the headlines amid Harry’s recent high-profile visit to London and Meghan basking in the spotlight from her season two launch on Netflix, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were keeping out of sight at their California mansion, Daily Mail can reveal.

The typically spotlight-hungry couple have been uncharacteristically quiet in Montecito this week 5,000-plus miles from where it was all happening in Windsor Castle. As his brother the Prince of Wales dined on boneless free-range chicken wrapped in zucchini – or Ballotine de Poulet Fermier en Robe de Courgettes, as the pretentious French menu termed it – Harry and his wife were nowhere to be seen.

Their retreat is a departure for the Sussexes who have made a habit of upstaging big royal moments with events of their own. Instead, the former Suits actress, 44, has been conspicuous by her absence from social media – nothing but an Instagram post for her husband’s 41st birthday on Monday – and there has been no sign of the couple in their adopted hometown for days after Harry’s return.

Both Meghan and Harry have become a familiar sight in the tony seaside city but appeared to have gone to ground when the Daily Mail visited Montecito this week.

Swank delicatessen Pierre La Fond, where Meghan has previously been photographed, was a Sussex-free zone, as were other favorites such as Lucky’s Steakhouse and upscale boutique Wendy Foster. Even at the sugar sand Miramar Beach – where the pair have been spotted walking their dogs and enjoying surf classes – they were off the radar.

The timing has fueled speculation on whether Harry and Meghan may have been snubbed or are deliberately keeping out of sight to avoid Trump’s wrath.

According to royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams, that’s because the pair are wary of stealing the spotlight from President Trump who has the power to make life difficult for them should he be angered. ‘I’d be surprised if the Sussexes do anything this week that might annoy,’ Fitzwilliams told Daily Mail. ‘The British put on such a ceremonial show. I mean I’ve been watching this. It is amazing and it’s intentionally amazing and intentionally designed to impress President Trump. If the Sussexes made a move that distracted us, as they have from time to time when there been important royal events, it would be not only be outrageous, but it would draw Trump’s eye.’

[From The Daily Mail]

I won’t lie, I’ve been surprised by Meghan’s silence this month too. I wouldn’t mind if she dropped some big announcement, but I understand why she didn’t, just as I understand why Harry and Meghan mostly ignored the orange mess in the UK. Now, I find it absolutely insane that the Daily Mail is openly admitting that they sent reporters to Montecito to stalk all of Harry and Meghan’s favorite spots. It has to be asked for the millionth time: if the left-behinds really are soaking up all of the global attention, why is the British media still obsessively stalking the Sussexes’ every move? Did the Mail’s editors take one look at Kate’s ridiculous doll wig and order their US-based reporters to drive to Montecito forthwith?

bitchy | Royalist: The Windsors ‘debased’ themselves for Donald Trump’s state visit

Bad news? I think they’ve pumped so many drugs into Donald Trump, he now looks somewhat healthier than King Charles. I would feel bad about saying that, except I remember Charles’s courtiers running around, briefing the press about Joe Biden’s age several years ago. Charles was pissed that President Biden didn’t go to the coronation, remember that? So Charles made it all about Biden’s age and health. Now Charles has been receiving cancer treatments for nineteen months and his mealy pallor makes Trump look hale and hearty.

Of course, there are plenty of other parts to this state visit which are pretty disgusting. Trump is being feted and celebrated like a conquering king. He’s a pathetic authoritarian hellbent on destroying NATO, the European Union and all postwar societal, cultural and economic advancements. I don’t exactly blame Charles and the royals for this – this was decided by Downing Street and Keir Starmer’s government, to roll out the red carpet this way for Trump. But that didn’t stop Tom Sykes from going OFF on his Royalist Substack, in a piece called “Britain Grovels Before Trump, Shamefully Enabling This Sick, Destructive Man.” An excerpt:

The United Kingdom shamelessly prostrated itself at the feet of Donald Trump on Wednesday morning, throwing a welcoming party for his state visit at Windsor so lavish it looked less like diplomacy than ritual self-humiliation. No foreign leader has ever been greeted with this degree of ceremonial excess. The choreography was on the scale of Elizabeth II’s funeral, yet this was not grief but a spectacle, a genuflection staged for a man many Britons see as a wrecking ball aimed at the very post-war settlement the country once helped design.

To those watching with clear eyes, it was nauseating. There was at least a grim honesty in the absurdity. Trump demands spectacle, and Britain, desperate to please, delivers. He wants to be king; Britain obliges.

But in obliging, the U.K. reveals something darker about itself: that to keep America close, it will debase itself utterly, strip its traditions for parts, and hire out its monarch like a sex worker to soothe the vanity of a man who insists on being treated as sovereign.

Royal ceremony is theatre, but this was a theatre that revealed far more than a sovereign nation should about its craven need to please a foreign leader who has done nothing to help Britain and plenty to harm it.

[From The Royalist Substack]

Yeah, I agree with all of that. It’s pathetic on both sides – Trump is a global embarrassment, and America will likely never recover from any of this. But I don’t hold it against the UK for doing what they can to stay on Trump’s good side. In fact, I think Starmer and many other European leaders have figured out their own ways to manipulate Trump and/or work around him. This is part of how they do that – they play to his vanity, they treat him like the most delicate and superficial strongman ever, because that’s exactly what he is.

bitchy | Platell: Prince Harry’s visit should be a wake-up call for boring, sulky William & Kate

During Prince Harry’s four-day visit to the UK, Daily Mail columnist Amanda Platell could not shut up about how much she despised every single thing Harry was doing. Not only that, but Platell spun out several ideas for the many ways in which “King William” will eventually punish his brother. The whole thing was so toxic, it made me advocate for Harry leaving the UK and never coming back. But Harry had other ideas, obviously, and he ended up getting hugely positive coverage in the British press. Well, instead of just going all-in on her Harry hate-athon, Platell is now attempting to do the funniest volte-face of all time. “You know how I said King William will strip the Sussexes’ titles and ban them from the UK? Nevermind, William and Kate suck, actually.” I’m paraphrasing, but only barely.

Ahead of Prince Harry’s whirlwind four-day ‘pseudo royal tour’ many, myself included, dismissed it as just another desperate and calculated attempt to ingratiate himself into the royal fold. After all, that’s what he and his wife Meghan depend on to make their Netflix millions. Yet I have to confess I was perhaps too cynical. Harry’s visit brought us something we have not seen for a very long time from the royals – laughter and joy.

Which leaves many of us asking why William and Kate have decided to hide away and become the Prince and Princess of Boring. There have been fantastic pictures of Harry larking around with children in need, images like those of the cheeky Harry of old. Dare I say, the kind of pictures that Princess Diana generated during her short life even after she lost her HRH title.

And that is why Harry’s visit should be a wake-up call for his estranged brother William. In my book, he should stop skulking and be the man he was born to be. While Harry was cheering up ill children, a sombre Prince William was worthily chairing a conference marking World Suicide Prevention Day in Cardiff – admittedly an important cause. While Harry was in London high-fiving staff at the Diana Awards set up in honour of their Mum, Kate was sent off to not one but two events at textile factories.

Yes it is easy for Harry to fly in for four days and capture the world’s attention, but then he followed it up with a surprise visit to Ukraine. There he promised that, after helping through his Invictus Games to rehabilitate soldiers who had lost limbs, he would offer that chance to the men, women and children in Ukraine who had been similarly wounded in the war.

And then came the bombshell. On her Fresh Hell Substack, respected royal biographer Tina Brown claimed King Charles is currently ‘less irritated’ by Prince Harry than he is by William….I have to agree with Tina Brown on one thing – that Harry’s triumphant tour has been a great success in PR terms and is ‘bad news for the Prince of Wales’.

Especially at a time when the latest survey revealed, shockingly, that support for the Monarchy has dropped from 86 percent in the Eighties to its lowest level since records began, with only half of Brits today supporting what many see as an outdated institution. The only images we ever see of William smiling is in the home videos he and Kate reluctantly release of them and the children frolicking, not on royal duties seen by the public but hidden away around one of their many homes.

[From The Daily Mail]

While Harry obviously didn’t plan on that “crumbling support for the monarchy” poll to come out in the middle of his visit, it’s hilarious that it happened that way. It was like a direct cause-and-effect before our eyes – an old, cancer-ridden king avoiding his family in a gothic castle in Scotland, a workshy heir pitifully screaming “don’t forget about me” during thrown-together last-minute events, and the charismatic ginger prince who walked away from the whole toxic lot. It feels like Kate and William actually wish they were just “boring.” Boring could be efficient, boring could be ho-hum, dutiful and visible. Instead, they’re lazy, barely visible and clearly desperate.
