Video of “Seven Nation Army” Street Performance in Iran Goes Viral

Footage of a street performance of The White Stripes’ 2003 classic “Seven Nation Army” in Tehran, Iran, has gone viral — even catching the attention of Jack White himself.

In the clip, uploaded to Instagram by journalist Afshin Ismaeli, a group of men and women (mostly not wearing hijabs) can be seen gathering on the sidewalk and dancing to the performance. Watch it below.

After the video went viral, it was reposted to Jack White and The White Stripes’ official Instagram accounts with the simple caption, “‘Seven Nation Army’ performed in the streets of Tehran.” In the comments, an Iranian singer named Arshia claimed that his band was behind the performance.

Since the 2022-2023 protests over the death of Mahsa Amini in police custody for allegedly violating Iran’s mandatory hijab law, the government under the current president, Masoud Pezeshkian, has voiced intentions to ease strict enforcement.

Specifically, Pezeshkian himself has said the morality police “were not supposed to confront” women. In March 2025, however, the UN Human Rights Council reported that Iran “continues to ramp up efforts to restrict the rights of women and girls,” despite such public assurances.

Against that backdrop and amid the recent Iran-Israel war, the viral moment serves as a welcome glimpse of joy and freedom through the power of music.

Radiohead react to ‘Let Down’ going viral on TikTok

by jummy84 October 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Radiohead have reacted over ‘Let Down’ becoming the band’s fourth US hit, 28 years after its release.

The track, which came out as a promotional single in 1997, and appeared on Thom Yorke and co’s landmark studio album ‘OK Computer’ that same year, entered the Billboard Hot 100 in August following an increasing resurgence on TikTok.

Radiohead have previously featured in the Hot 100 with the ‘In Rainbows’ track ‘Nude’ in 2008 (Number 37), ‘High And Dry’ in 1995 (Number 78), and ‘Creep’ in 1993 (Number 34). The latter remains the band’s most successful single in the States.

‘Let Down’ also spent seven weeks on the UK singles chart upon its release, peaking at Number 85.

Speaking about the feat in a new interview with The Sunday Times, Yorke said: “I find that especially bizarre. Because I fought tooth and nail for it not to be on the record, but Ed O’Brien was, like, ‘If it’s not, I’m leaving.’”

The guitarist has now said the song is the “emotional heart” of ‘OK Computer’.

Despite that, he was surprised by the reaction on TikTok. “Still, I was astonished. So I told my kids, who are 18 and 21, and they said, ‘What do you expect? Teenagers are depressed. It’s depressing music!’” O’Brien added.

Drummer Philip Selway also opened up about his own experience of cross-generational appreciation for the band.

“I was at the station the other day,” he said. ‘And schoolboys were playing ‘Everything In Its Right Place’ [from Kid A] on a piano. Then they played Bohemian Rhapsody.”

Elsewhere in the interview, they also confirmed that their forthcoming shows will be played in the round, and they revealed that they have whittled down their back catalogue to a shortlist of approximately 65 tracks, which Jonny Greenwood said they are “all frantically learning”.

Radiohead are returning to the stage for the first time in over seven years in the coming weeks, with four-night residencies in each of Madrid, Bologna, London, Copenhagen and Berlin set to take place between November 4 and December 12. All of the tickets sold out very quickly.

The band also recently revealed whether fans can expect new material from the band after they play their UK and European dates.

Meanwhile, Radiohead spoke at length on their stance on Israel and Palestine. In 2017, they encountered a backlash when they played a show in Tel Aviv, Israel despite protests urging them to cancel the gig from the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, as well as criticism from Roger Waters, Thurston Moore, Young Fathers and others.

Last year, Yorke clashed with a protester during a solo show in Melbourne, arguing with an individual from the crowd and storming off stage, before later issuing a lengthy statement explaining his decision.

Yorke said he will “absolutely not” return to Israel and he “wouldn’t want to be 5,000 miles anywhere near the Netanyahu regime”.

Greenwood, meanwhile, has come in for criticism for making records with Israeli musician Dudu Tassa, and saw two UK gigs with Tassa cancelled earlier this year after protesters called for a boycott. Greenwood, who is married to an Israeli artist, also played with Tassa in Tel Aviv last year.

On the subject of whether he would play in Israel again he said: “I would also politely disagree with Thom. I would argue that the government is more likely to use a boycott and say, ‘Everyone hates us – we should do exactly what we want.’ Which is far more dangerous.”

“It’s nuts,” he added. “The only thing that I’m ashamed of is that I’ve dragged Thom and the others into this mess – but I’m not ashamed of working with Arab and Jewish musicians. I can’t apologise for that.”

‘It’s far more complex..’: Deepika Padukone’s old take on infidelity goes viral amid Twinkle Khanna-Kajol’s Two Much row

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

The internet’s got a new bone to chew on with the latest episode of Kajol and Twinkle Khanna’s celebrity talk show, Two Much . What began as a playful conversation quickly turned into controversy after the stars debated emotional versus physical cheating. The episode, which featured Karan Johar and Janhvi Kapoor alongside the hosts, has since sparked heated discussions online about modern relationships and moral boundaries.

Deepika Padukone; Karan Johar, Kajol and Twinkle Khanna on Two Much

What happened?

During a This or That segment, Twinkle asked whether love or compatibility mattered more in a marriage. While she and Janhvi argued in favour of love, Kajol firmly disagreed, insisting that no relationship could survive without compatibility. But the chat took a divisive turn when the topic shifted to infidelity.

When Twinkle posed whether emotional cheating was worse than physical, Janhvi was clear that both were unacceptable and that physical infidelity would be a deal breaker. Twinkle, however, playfully dismissed the idea, saying, “Raat gayi baat gayi.” Kajol and Karan seemed to echo her sentiment, hinting at a more forgiving approach toward physical betrayal.

“It’s far more complex than just..”

As social media users dissected the conversation, an old video of Deepika Padukone began circulating. In the Curly Tales roundtable, the actor revealed her take on cheating. In the old clip, she said, “A lot of times people make the choices that they do for various reasons and I think that we’re conditioned to think that infidelity is sort of a sin. But for example, if you were to put yourself in the shoes of a therapist or a counsellor and you have to actually understand why that person did what they did…I think you start looking at it very differently. Now this is not to say that I’m okay with it or I’m not okay with it. I’m just saying that it’s far more complex than just saying that I’m okay with it or not. There’s just far too many factors that come into play when it comes to this.”

While Deepika’s words were shared years ago, the timing of the resurfaced clip has reignited debate online, with netizens weighing in on the morality and modern perception of infidelity. One user wrote, “How hard is it to say cheating is bad? It is not right. It should be a deal breaker, but for some, it is not. That’s it.” Another commented, “In an industry where they are always surrounded by attractive people, they have tried to normalise this behaviour; and have started keeping emotional commitment at a pedestal. But I feel until n unless its an open marriage, no kind of cheating should be tried to justified.” A third added, “I think celebs say cheating is complicated because their lives are so public and messy — constant travel, attention, pressure, and temptation. But honestly, it’s not that complicated. If you respect your partner, you don’t cheat. The fame just gives them more excuses.”

As social media continues to debate what defines loyalty and forgiveness, Deepika’s resurfaced take has added another layer to the ongoing conversation. What do you think about this?

Linda Perry Reacts to Viral Nicki Minaj ‘Beez in the Trap’ Mashup

by jummy84 October 23, 2025
written by jummy84

Over the last few weeks, a peculiar remix of 4 Non Blondes’ “What’s Up?” and Nicki Minaj’s “Beez in the Trap” has taken TikTok by storm, with everyone from Sabrina Carpenter and Demi Lovato to Malala Yousafzai and Simone Biles joining in on the trend.

The videos start with Linda Perry’s signature vocals on the song — “I wake up in the morning and I step outside” — before the catchy beat of Minaj’s Pink Friday classic sneaks in for the background. As Perry lets out the song’s high notes, Minaj’s rap voice — “Bitches ain’t shit, and they ain’t say nothing” — takes over. It’s one of the most-posted tunes this month, with TikTokers using it as a soundtrack to show off Halloween costumes, hard-launch relationships, and showcase having friends with very different personalities.

DJ Aux Lord, an Ohio-based college senior who made the remix and asked not to be identified ny name or gender, is behind the viral sound, which they made and posted back in August. Their reaction to the big moment? “I’m so gagged,” they tell Rolling Stone. “It’s just been so crazy.”

The silly remix was posted to their TikTok page months ago, receiving 50,000 likes but not really spreading from there. Aux Lord, who has a background as a classically trained pianist and is currently studying psychology, says they started the page to share their adventurous mashups with close friends — and never expected a remix to have a moment like this.

“I think it’s really fun to mix songs that don’t have to do with each other. There was no real reason why I chose to mix these,” they say. “I don’t know if they were in the same key or similar keys, but I thought it was so funny. The beat on ‘Beez’ is so catchy that it went so well with the vocals.”

Only Aux Lord’s close friends know who is behind the account, which has been viewed millions of times and used over 400,000 times on the platform, including by members of Katseye, Dancing with the Stars competitors, Marcello Hernández, and, most recently by Lovato, Troye Sivan, Rachel Sennott, and Adéla.

Editor’s picks

In a statement to Rolling Stone, Linda Perry calls the remix “ridiculous in all the best ways,” saying it made her get on TikTok for the very first time. Earlier this month, she joined artist Sophia Treadway in a lip-sync video using the song.

“She convinced me, and then after we released the version of me doing  ‘What’s Up’ and her doing ‘Beez,’ her followers were like ‘FLIP IT’ and honestly, I don’t know what that means,” Perry says with a laugh. “I mean, it’s pretty awesome, I must say. It’s out of control.”

The trend has sparked a massive spike in Spotify streams for Minaj’s track, which jumped 460 percent globally this month — with Gen Z listeners driving a 2,120 percent jump in discovery of Minaj’s music through the song, according to information from the streaming platform. Meanwhile, 4 Non-Blondes’ “What’s Up” saw a 75 percent boost. The boost might seem small, but it’s because it already saw a jump last month thanks to Cardi B and Lizzo’s “What’s Goin’ On,” which sampled the original.

Minaj, for her part, used the TikTok sound to share a carousel of photos and encouraged fans to support those doing the trend: “Barbz, show love to the ppl doing the trend. love you. You’re cute. Or whatever.”

DJ Aux Lord jokes that their close friends call them “Radio Rebel,” a nod to the secret DJ character played by Debby Ryan in the Disney Channel Original, since they’ve been spinning at parties at their college (including one this weekend) without anyone knowing they’re behind the viral trend. Beyond the Perry-Minaj mashup, they’ve also blended HorsegiirL with the Beatles, Taylor Swift with Charli XCX, and Chappell Roan’s “The Subway” with City Girls’ “Act Up” — all while using an app on their iPad called DJ Pro. (At parties, they clarify, they use their DDJ-FLX4.)

“A lot of people think music mixing and DJing are hard to get into as a hobby, but it goes to show you don’t need expensive equipment to reach a large audience. I think I’m going to keep doing it for fun for now. It’s a fun hobby, but I might branch out in the winter and see if I could DJ at gigs as a side hustle,” they say. “I didn’t think I was going to go this far.”

Linda Perry, for her part, is manifesting a real-life moment with the Queen of Rap: “I think everyone is trying to get Nicki and me to do one together,” she says. “It would be fun, and the best part is? ‘I love Nicki Minaj!’”

The entertainment industry is in shock after the untimely demise of singer and actor Rishabh Tandon, famously known as Faqeer, who died aged 35 after a heart attack in Delhi. Fans and colleagues are left devastated by the news, particularly as it is just weeks since he posted a picture with a moving message to his wife, Olesya, to mark Karwa Chauth.

As per reports posted by celebrity photographer Viral Bhayani, Rishabh was in Delhi visiting his family when he unexpectedly had a heart attack. Following his death, Olesya posted an emotional post on Instagram in memory of her deceased husband. Ben Simmons’ Sister Olivia Mocks Kendall Jenner In Viral TikTok | Glamsham.com

Olivia Simmons, sister of NBA star Ben Simmons, recently shared a snarky TikTok video in which she took aim at his former girlfriend, model Kendall Jenner. In the clip, Olivia recalls a game night where they played Cards Against Humanity and Jenner announced she’d bake cookies, but according to Olivia, it didn’t go well. She mocked Jenner for attempting to cut ready-made dough unevenly and referenced a past viral moment in which Jenner awkwardly sliced a cucumber.

“I have never seen so many uneven cookies,” Olivia says in the video. “You rich b****. If you don’t call your chef to come and cook these cookies for you?” She went on to label the Kardashian-Jenner family as “weird b****es.”

The video has stirred a mixed reaction online. Some viewers found it entertaining, but many criticized Olivia for what they viewed as an unnecessary and mean-spirited dig at Jenner over something trivial. One commenter wrote: “This is so weird of you” and another added: “Bullying is so normalized.”

Neither Kendall Jenner nor Ben Simmons publicly responded to the post yet. The relationship between Kendall and Ben was short-lived, dating from 2018 to 2019, and both have moved on in their careers and personal lives.

Regardless of intent, Olivia’s TikTok has reignited interest in the Jenner-Simmons past and raised questions about how feuds between celebrity families are shared and perceived in the social-media age.

Lucky Ali Slams Javed Akhtar As ‘Ugly’ Over Viral ‘Don’t Become Like Muslims’ Remark; Later Backtracks

by jummy84 October 22, 2025
written by jummy84

In a dramatic turn of events this week, singer-songwriter Lucky Ali took to X (formerly Twitter) to publicly lash out at veteran lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar, simply calling him “never original and ugly as f***”, after a clip of Akhtar’s resurfaced with shocking comments about Hindus and Muslims. Shortly afterwards, Ali issued a clarification, saying his hateful slur had been a “mistaken communiqué” and apologising for his harsh wording.

What triggered the outburst

The firestorm began when a video clip of Javed Akhtar speaking at a past event went viral. In it, Akhtar references the iconic 1975 film Sholay, reflecting on how scenes like Dharmendra hiding behind the murti of Shiva wouldn’t be written today. He then allegedly stated — *“Don’t become like Muslims. Make them like yourself. You are becoming like Muslims. It’s a tragedy.”*

The comments sparked immediate outrage from social-media users across the board, accusing Akhtar of communal framing and insensitivity.

Lucky Ali’s reaction

Reacting to a post featuring the video, Lucky Ali responded on X with the blunt message: “Don’t become like Javed Akhtar — never original and ugly as f**…”*

His comments triggered fresh debate online — some backed his call-out of a popular figure, while others condemned his use of vitriol and wondered if the response boomeranged.

Back-pedal with an apology

Hours later, however, Ali appeared to step back from his initial attack. On his X account, he wrote: “What I meant was that arrogance is ugly…. It was a mistaken communique on my part… monsters may have feelings too and I apologise if I hurt anyone’s monstrosity.”

The apology itself drew more reactions: some appreciated the correction, others saw it as damage control. The phrase “monsters may have feelings too” drew heavy scrutiny for its unusual tone.

The wider fallout

With both figures being prominent voices in Indian pop-culture, the exchange illuminated multiple issues: communal language, public discourse, personal accountability and how social media amplifies polarisation.

Akhtar, known for his firm stands on social issues, has previously spoken about the vitriol and threats he receives from both ends of the spectrum. Meanwhile, Lucky Ali has himself been involved in earlier controversies—including a previous backlash in 2023 when he linked the word “Brahman” to “Abram”.

Why it matters

Content of speech vs reaction to speech: Akhtar’s comments raised questions about what it means to frame an entire community in certain terms.

How public figures respond: Ali’s sharp reaction and subsequent apology show the risks of commentaries that veer into insult rather than critique.

Social-media echo-chambers: The rapid amplification of a clip, the instant response, and the viral nature of both message and reaction highlight how narratives are shaped in the digital age.

Public accountability and civility: The incident underscores the thin line between standing up against remarks one considers harmful and resorting to ad-hominem attacks.

Where things stand

As of now, Akhtar has not publicly responded to Ali’s remarks or his apology. The clip continues to circulate, sparking fresh discussion about secularism, communal harmony, freedom of expression and the responsibilities of prominent personalities.

Lucky Ali’s public back-tracking has somewhat softened his initial attack, but opinions remain divided about whether his apology addressed the underlying issues.

Final takeaway

What began as a viral clip of one veteran figure’s hot-mic comments ended up as a social-media skirmish between two well-known personalities. The episode serves as a microcosm of how crowded, fast-moving and emotionally charged public discourse has become—particularly when religion, identity and culture are at stake.

At its core, the incident prompts two questions: how do influential figures talk about communal identity, and how should those around them respond when things go wrong? Whether this will lead to more reflective conversations or simply fade into the background remains to be seen.

For now, the commentary continues: both the words spoken, and the words posted afterwards.

Jacob Elordi Wore the Viral Nike x Jacquemus Moon Shoe Sneakers

by jummy84 October 21, 2025
written by jummy84

If you’re going to let anyone tell you or, better yet, show you what’s cool right now, Jacob Elordi is your guy. Over and over again, he’s proven himself qualified for this position, donning Intrecciato loafers on the red carpet and the latest It bag on the streets of New York City—before it comes out. With that reputation in mind, when I saw him wearing a pair of the just-released Jacquemus x Nike Moon Shoe sneakers in downtown Manhattan, my editor senses started tingling, a surefire sign that a new viral trend has officially arrived.

The sold-out sneakers were officially released in three colors—University Red, Noir, and Alabaster—on September 29 at Jacquemus.com, before they launched across SNKRS and selected Nike retail locations on October 6. All three colors flew off the digital and physical shelves, sending a flurry of interested buyers into a tizzy. Everyone in New York wants a pair right now, and unless they’re willing to scour the resale market for their size and desired color, they won’t be getting them anytime soon. What makes them so great, apart from them being a Jacquemus x Nike product, is their vintage aesthetic, low-profile silhouette, and weightless feel. Trust me, I own the same pair as Elordi, and they feel like you’re wearing nothing.

On Jacob Elordi: Jacquemus x Nike Moon Shoe ($180); Bottega Veneta bag

The Moon Shoe style was originally hand-built by Nike’s co-founder Bill Bowerman. They debuted at the 1972 U.S. Olympic Trials but were never manufactured. Though, iterations like the 1972 Oregon Waffle and 1975 Waffle Trainer were adapted from that first Bowerman design. Jacquemus bringing them back is, therefore, no small feat. Fans of the barely there sneaker have been waiting more than 50 years.

“Three years ago, when I visited the Nike archives, I first came across the historic Moon Shoe,” Simon Porte Jacquemus said in a press release for the sneaker. “I saw a unique, minimal running shoe that was both timeless and modern in its simplicity and execution. I knew it was an opportunity to create a new story and reshape it in the Jacquemus way.”

As for styling your pair (if you can get your hands on them), taking cues from Elordi is never a bad plan. He styled his red sneakers in a low-key cool way, with classic jeans, a vintage crewneck sweatshirt, an L.A. Dodgers baseball cap, and a fondant-colored Bottega Veneta Intrecciato oversize shoulder bag. Copy-worthy? I think yes. Lisa from BLACKPINK posted a photo of her wearing a pair—hers are black—with jeans on Instagram. Though, she opted for a plaid shirt as opposed to a sweatshirt like Elordi. I’ve also seen the red version worn with Still Here’s similarly viral Sport Jeans in the color Pear, creating a truly perfect shade combination.

Clearly, my instincts were right about the Jacquemus x Nike Moon Shoe sneakers being the hottest shoe to hit NYC this season, putting all of fall’s ballet flats, loafers, and boots to shame.
