Tall or short, knitted boots like Bell’s are only one of several fall boot trends that Glamour is currently obsessed with. Western-inspired styles, such as the cowboy boots favored by Bella Hadid for all of 2024, continue to be a thing. In particular, we’re seeing a ton of Frye boots, which we like to style with everything from preppy skirts to barrel jeans. We’re also seeing the return of the moto-boot trend, which always adds a touch of edge to an outfit (10 points to you if you kept your Chloe Susanna boots from way back in the 2010s). Oh, and also slouchy boots, and riding boots, and Ugg boots. Basically every boot that was popular in the ’00s and ’10s is popular again now.

But don’t get carried away, now, and start thinking you need every style of boot in your closet. Maybe you actually only need one pair of boots at all. After all, look at Kristen Bell.

You see, it’s been hard to see beyond all the brown boots this season. The color has been dominating every fall trend mood board, especially when it comes to accessories. But there are other options! Burgundy boots are another color option that’s also trending this year, and they offer a nice alternative to black and brown.

Burgundy shoes are just as classic as black or brown, but come with a singularity that makes them stand out even more. The reddish tinge elevates almost any other tones it’s paired with, from browns and beiges to a high contrast blue. It is so versatile that if there was only one shoe to recommend buying for fall, there’s a strong case to be made for burgundy boots.

We’re seeing trendy maroon boots on and off the runway and in all sorts of styles, from shiny patent leather to ones with an architectural heel. Buy them in bootie format or with a snakeskin finish. Wear them tucked in or out of your pants—the options for styling are limitless. (That said, two pieces that work especially well with burgundy boots are skirts and dresses.)

Street style looks suggest playing with color is the way to go. Wear a matching maroon dress with a colorful scarf, for example. Pastel pink is another tone that works very well and offers a nice contrast to shoes with lots of texture. Another styling tip is to go with basic black or dark gray—these look quite sophisticated when paired with a wine red tone.

If you’re wearing a skirt, one styling hack is to include maroon in another piece in the look such as a sleeveless top, turtleneck sweater, or bomber jacket. And even though burgundy boots are technically on trend, they feel so timeless that you can pair them with other en vogue pieces—like a lingerie skirt or fringe—without it feeling like you’re chasing fads.

Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, he said, “When I was at an age where I needed inspiration, Manoj Bajpayee was there. He had an era of his own with films like Satya that left a deep impact on us. While Shah Rukh Khan was also doing something different within commercial films, Manoj ji was taking on realistic and unconventional roles. That really inspired me. At a time when I was feeling low, Manoj sir felt like a shining beacon of hope. His long career and continued passion for acting even today are something I admire a lot.”

Gulshan also praised Irrfan Khan for his unique style and fearless choices. He said, “Irrfan was truly versatile. He brought variety into his roles without changing who he was to please others. He had confidence in his talent and didn’t try to fit in. Sometimes, you can just feel that strong self-belief in people. I also enjoy doing different kinds of roles, and working with different people helps me grow as an actor. You realise that, ‘Oh, I can do this too!’”

Square-Toe Boots Might Be Fall’s Most Versatile Trend

With fall almost here, it’s time to ditch the sandals and bring out our favorite fall boots. Not only are they great shoes for stomping through fallen leaves, but they also play best with the blazer-and-jeans combo we so love to wear while sipping on a pumpkin spice latte. And there is one trendy style in particular we’ll be reaching for the most this season: square-toe boots.

Whether you like them sleek black and knee-high or in buttery soft brown suede, square-toe boots feel like a return to the 1990s in the best way possible. For ones that feel modern and squarely set in 2025, however, there are a few things to look out for:

  • They must have a square toe (obviously). The silhouette’s structured lines add elegance to any outfit.
  • Also look for ones that are midi or knee-high length. That is, they reach somewhere between mid-calf and just below the knee.
  • The heel should be wide and not too high. This season’s shoes are not about sacrificing comfort. Long live a sensible heel!
  • They have a wide opening. The trendiest boots right now are not skin tight against the leg. You should be able to fit a pair of straight-leg jeans inside, for example.

We’ve seen square-toe boots presented at top designers like Alaïa, Stella McCartney, and Givenchy and in countless street style photos. It’s proof that square-toe boots are in the closets of the most stylish people we know. Luckily, retailers have picked up on this too so you won’t be hard-pressed to find a version that fits your personal style in stores.

Arguably, square-toe boots are more refined than round-toe ones, which can look a bit old-fashioned if their not styled in a modern way. And as much as we love the look of a pointed-toe boot, we have to admit that a square-toe is much more practical. They’re less prone to getting scuffed, which makes them a great choice to wear to work or on the weekends.

Put another way, square-toe boots offer a versatility that makes the most sleek and stylish option for the upcoming season. They’ll elevate a simple jeans, T-shirt, and blazer formula with the same ease as they would a long skirt and oversized sweater.
