Surbhi Chandna addressed online trolls who mistook her for Dhanashree Verma and commented on the latter’s divorce from Yuzvendre Chahal. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actress opened up on her comparison to the actor-dancer. Surbhi On Dealing With Trolls
When asked about how she handles trolling, Surbhi said, “I feel, see, in the business we are in, trolling is not to be taken seriously. It’s a business that I’m not bothered about. We have been trolled for everything in life. Specifically, I will speak for my man. They have spoken ill of him, spoken ill of his family. Kabhi-kabhi comments ke screenshots aate hain mere paas, but hum toh waise hi insaan hain, hum kehte hain, ‘Main sachchi Hindi gaali doon kya?’ Kaunsi gaali doon? Saala humko farq hi nahi padta! And I kind of feel, the more you’re cold to something like this and the more you’re invested in your work and other things, you know, there’s so much happiness to spread around.”
She added, “So trolling comes with the business we are in. Mujhe lagta hai har jagah hai, matlab hum shame kar rahe hain, hum troll kar rahe hain. Kabhi-kabhaar toh aisa lagta hai ki within friends also na, agar hum mazak mein kuch keh bhi dein, toh humein apna daayra pata hota hai. Lekin yeh jo faceless trollers hain, inke paas daayra hota hi nahi hai. Aur actually, iss pe baat bhi nahi karni chahiye. Itna unko saala pedestal pe chadhaao hi mat. Bhaad mein jaayein — karne do!”
Surbhi Chandna On Being Compared To Dhanashree Verma
Speaking of being compared to Dhanashree Verma, Surbhi Chandna said, “I feel that main har interview mein ek hi cheez bolti hoon —60 chehre ek jaise hote hain. Ek mil chuka hai mujhe, aur chaar aur mil chuke hain. Main uski talaash mein hoon — aur mil chuki hoon! They compare me with Dhanashree, and we both think there is some similarity in our facial features. And actually, haan, I kind of feel — what’s the big deal in that? Aur koi comment karta hai, be-faltu ke comments hote hain —par funny bhi hote hain, padhne mein maza bhi aata hai! Like, ‘Arey, tu Yuzi ka paisa leke kyun bhaagi?’ We are not even making fun of their separation or whatever.”
About Dhanashree-Surbhi’s Confusion
Surbhi Chandna and Dhanashree Verma are often confused because of their striking physical resemblance. This has led to Surbhi Chandna being mistakenly targeted by online trolls, especially following news of cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal’s divorce from Dhanashree Verma. While both women are aware of the confusion, Chandna has humorously acknowledged their similarities in interviews and stated she has never met Verma, though she is open to the idea.
