So, as she navigates this next phase of her life, Kidman remains focused on her work. And Urban is following a similar roadmap.

The Grammy winner—who’s also been spotted without his wedding ring—has been on his High and Alive Tour. And concertgoers couldn’t help but notice he made some changes to his music.

While performing “The Fighter” (a song he’s said was inspired by the promises he made Kidman at the start of their relationship) with guitarist Maggie Baugh at one show, Urban changed the lyrics from “When they’re tryna get you, baby, I’ll be the fighter,” to “When they tryna get you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.” The switch-up even seemed to surprise Maggie, who posted a video of the moment to Instagram Sept. 27 and wrote, “Did he just say that?”

Still, Urban hasn’t changed everything amid his divorce. According to People, the 57-year-old kept a photo of Kidman and their daughters in a slideshow that played during his performace of “Heart Like a Hometown” in Hershey, Penn., Oct. 2.

Maggie Baugh was absent from Keith Urban’s first show since the news of his split with Nicole Kidman broke.

Days before the split, Baugh had posted a video where Urban swapped out a key lyric from his song The Fighter, which is reportedly inspired by Kidman. “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player,” Urban sang on stage, replacing “When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter.”

Baugh had captioned it “Did he just say that.” Now, she’s reportedly not been in Urban’s first concert since the news of his split with Kidman came out.

  • Maggie’s father reportedly said he was not privy to any relationship between Baugh and Urban. “I don’t know anything about it, other than she’s a guitar player for him,” he said to the Daily Mail, adding “It’s more of a musician thing than a dating thing.
  • Baugh reportedly began her songwriting career at 13. She told the Hamilton County Reporter “I started going to Nashville when I was 13 and started songwriting around the same age. I put out my very first record when I was 13 years old..”, she said. “When I was 18 years old, I moved to Nashville and started touring a bunch. Last year, I was on tour with Keith Urban and it’s been a crazy wild journey, man,” Baugh added.
  • Maggie shared that she does not come from a family with a background in music. “Nobody in my family plays music. I’m literally the only one. Isn’t that crazy? I’m the oddball. My dad is a microbiologist, and my mom is a stay-at-home mom who runs a dog training business on the side.,” she added.
  • She recently teased a new single about fighting temptation amidst negativity. “There is so many negative vibes in the world right now. I wanted to write this song to give some encouragement,” Baugh wrote on Instagram.
  • One time she also compared her music to music to her ‘boyfriend’. “I feel like music has always just been my boyfriend. So, whenever I have a boyfriend, it’s always like, ‘Oh, you’re just temporary,” Baugh told People, adding, “But when I do go through a breakup, I don’t go to the bar. I put my guitar in my hands.”

Days continue to go by for Keith Urban.

And some of those days find him preparing for a return to the stage. The country star made his first public appearance since Nicole Kidman filed for divorce Sept. 30, stepping out in Hersey, Pa.

In pictures of the Oct. 2 outing, Keith deboarded a private jet, hours before his concert at Giant Center for his High and Alive World Tour. He kept his travel outfit low key, sporting a gray jacket, black T-shirt and black baseball cap. He was also notably not wearing his wedding ring as he carried a leather duffle bag.

As for Nicole, who shares Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, with Keith, she spent the day after her divorce filing taking in some sister time in Nashville, going on a hike with sister Antonia Kidman.

While Keith returns to the stage after a four-day break from his tour, he previously raised eyebrows at a recent concert by making a noteworthy lyric change. Last month, he updated the lyrics to his song “The Fighter,” which was inspired by his romance with the Big Little Lies actress, when performing on stage.

While their relationship seemed like practical magic, Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are going their separate ways.

The news is surprising for many fans, who looked to the now estranged couple’s almost 20-year marriage as a pillar of romance. Plus, Nicole and Keith looked still the happy couple during their last public outing together just three months ago.

Indeed, the Big Little Lies star and country star were all smiles as they took in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 group D match between Los Angeles Football Club and Esperance de Tunis in Nashville, Tennessee, on June 20.

Then, just five days later, Nicole took to Instagram to celebrate her 19th wedding anniversary with Keith in the form of a sweet photo of the pair, Nicole’s arms wrapped around Keith’s shoulders as he held her close. She captioned the June 25 homage, alongside a red heart, “Happy Anniversary Baby.”

But despite the pair’s appearances, E! News confirmed on Sept. 29 that the couple—parents to daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14—had broken up, and that the pair had been living apart “since the beginning of the summer.”
