Black Label Society Unleash New Song “Broken and Blind”

Black Label Society have dropped a new song, “Broken and Blind,” a tease of their forthcoming new album scheduled for an early 2026 release.

The track is a three-plus-minute stoner rock groover with fiery guitar licks from axeman/singer Zakk Wylde. He commands a strong vocal performance here, as well, hitting some extended notes in the chorus that callback to early Soundgarden, when the grungers dabbled in this type of heavy stoner rock. The rest of BLS provide an airtight pocket for Wylde’s playing, with the lineup rounded out by bassist John DeServio, drummer Jeff Fabb, and rhythm axeman Dario Lorina.

“The song is about peanut butter and chocolate and what happens when you don’t have any of it,” said Wylde in a press relase, likely making a jokey analogy about the song’s darker lyrical subject matter. “My soul is broken and I’m blind with rage if I don’t have any peanut butter and chocolate, so there you go, it’s a new song called ‘Broken and Blind.’ Thank you, have a great day.”

The song is the third in a string of singles including “Lord Humungus” (released in February) and “The Gallows” (September 2024). Ostensibly all three will be featured on the forthcoming follow-up to the 2021 full-length Doom Crew Inc.

As for Wylde, the prolific guitarist is currently prepping a Fall 2025 tour with Zakk Sabbath, his Black Sabbath tribute act. The outing kicks off October 30th in Rancho Mirage, California, and runs through December 16th in San Diego. Get tickets here.

Netflix has unveiled the trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming directorial, Frankenstein. Following a praiseworthy run at the film festivals, the movie will now be available to stream for the audience in the comfort of their homes. As the trailer for the new horror-thriller film was dropped on October 1, the audience got a deeper glimpse into the characters of Jacob Elordi and Oscar Isaac. Mia Goth will also portray a pivotal role in the film.

The new Guillermo del Toro directorial is about an egoistic yet brilliant scientist, Victor von Frankenstein, played by Oscar Isaac, who brings a dangerous monster, played by Jacob Elordi, to life during an experiment. His daring move, however, causes a havoc-like situation for the creator, as well as the world. The trailer gives the audience a deeper look into Elordi’s character as he transforms into a resurrected monster.

The official synopsis of the movie reads, “Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro reimagines Mary Shelley’s classic tale of a brilliant scientist and the creature his monstrous ambition brings to life.”

Apart from the visuals, the viewers can also hear multiple voice-overs by the Euphoria star. The movie is an adaptation of the epic Mary Shelley novel, and the filmmaker has been working on it for over a decade.

As for Frankenstein’s run at the film festivals, the director, along with his team, premiered the cinematic piece at the Venice Film Festival, the Telluride Film Festival, and the Toronto Film Festival. The film was announced to be the runner-up at the TIFF for the fest’s coveted People’s Choice Award.

Guillermo del Toro reflects on Frankenstein

While speaking to Variety, Guillermo del Toro revealed that Frankenstein, for him, is about the “human spirit.” He said, “The usual discourse of Frankenstein has to do with science gone awry. But for me, it’s about the human spirit. It’s not a cautionary tale: it’s about forgiveness, understanding, and the importance of listening to each other.”

Frankenstein will be available in select theaters on October 17 and to stream on Netflix from November 7.

New York hardcore legends Agnostic Front have announced their 13th studio album, Echoes in Eternity, arriving November 7th via Reigning Phoenix Music. The band also served up the single “Way of War,” a two-minute beatdown of crossover thrash.

This is Agnostic Front at their most metallic — more thrash than punk — with the band dishing out galloping riffs and breakneck grooves to compliment the barks of frontman Roger Miret. His grim lyrics are presented without obfuscation.

“The track is very much a sign of the times!” declared the band in a press release. “How the corrupt politicians greed pulls us and many other nations into senseless wars. These actions unfortunately, come with casualties that civilians never call for. It’s the way of war.”
