Tame Impala unveils three songs from its just-released album, Deadbeat, as part of the first installment of the new live video series Sound Check at Cherry Lane Theatre. Filmed at the A24-owned New York venue, the episode sports the live debut of album opener “My Old Ways” plus the pre-release singles “Dracula” and “Loser.”

With Tame Impala’s first tour since March 2023 about to begin next week, fans can get a sneak preview of the Kevin Parker-led group’s current live setup in the Sound Check video, which finds Parker encircled onstage by guitarist/keyboardist Dominic Simper, guitarist/keyboardist Jay Watson, guitarist/keyboardist/percussionist James Ireland, keyboardist/percussionist Julien Barbagallo and bassist Cameron Avery.

The three-song set was directed by Sean Durkin (The Iron Claw). After “Dracula,” one of the musicians says to Parker off-camera, “good harmonies. Did you do a wrong lyric in one of the verses?” “I fucked up,” Parker admits.

Deadbeat is the follow-up to 2020’s The Slow Rush and is expected to debut in the upper reaches of the Billboard 200 this week. After Tame Impala’s fall shows conclude Nov. 17 in Los Angeles, the group will be back in action with a spring tour of Europe and the U.K., beginning April 4 in Porto, Portugal.

Parker will also be on the DJ decks for three early December shows in Australia opening for Justice, with whom he collaborated on the French electronic duo’s hit 2024 album, Hyperdrama.

Leighton Meester and Adam Brody’s 2025 Emmys Prep Was Full of Laugh Attacks, Tunes, and Skincare

Everybody wants this glow-up! Leighton Meester and Adam Brody turned heads at the 2025 Emmy Awards at Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, California on Sept. 14, but before the couple hit the red carpet, they indulged in pre-show rituals that set the tone for the night.

Celebrity makeup artist Bethany McCarty and groomer Kim Verbeck shared all the behind-the-scenes details on the pair’s prep with ET, which was equal parts fun and equal parts glam.

Before the actor and actress slipped into their coordinating Prada ensembles, with Brody in a pale blue suit and Meester in a baby pink gown, the beauty pros perfected radiant looks for the duo.

“With Leighton, we used the Bubble cleanser, layered serums, cream, and eye cream for a fresh, dewy base,” McCarty explains. …If we have time, I’ll do some light lymphatic drainage massage while applying cream to de-puff and wake up circulation. If not, I keep the application gentle but intentional.”

For Brody, the approach was just as thoughtful. “I always like to start with the cleanest skin possible and then move into the most moisturized,” Verbeck shares. “After applying the Enhanse Super Moisture, I use a couple massage techniques to get rid of tension and add some lymphatic drainage.”

Their meticulous pre-show routines ensured both stars shined on and off camera.

“Good skin prep is everything. It keeps makeup seamless, fresh, and youthful without any heaviness or creasing,” McCarty says. “The better the skin looks, the less makeup you need.”

Verbeck adds, “The entire grooming process is usually around 30-40 minutes and ultimately, I get the skin to a matte finish for the event.”

Once their luminous skin was set, the Gossip Girl went on to fully embrace a retro prom aesthetic.

“Leighton’s ’60s inspired gown alongside Adam’s tux led us to a classic cat eye, rosy cheeks, a matte lip, a hint of shimmer to echo her dress, and a soft nod to Brigitte Bardot with her hair,” McCarty shares.

And the energy in the room was just as vibrant as their get-ups.

“It’s always a fun vibe with our whole crew,” Verbeck dishes. “There’s always music playing and we’re all making each other laugh and having good conversation.”

McCarty continues, “It honestly feels like playing dress-up with a friend. We have at least one major laughing attack, catch up about life and our kids, and just have fun.”

Bappa’s Favourite Tunes: Top 10 Bollywood Songs To Play During Ganesh Chaturthi! | Glamsham.com

Bollywood has been celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi for years, not only as a religious occasion but as a dynamic cultural event. In song and dance, the filmmakers have encapsulated the spirit of Maharashtra’s favorite festival, worshipping Lord Ganesha in memorable sequences that are woven together by devotion, drama, and rhythm. The songs have become an integral part of the festival, repeatedly played in homes, pandals, and street celebrations every year.

Timeless Aartis and Emotional Anthems

Another favorite piece is “Shendoor Lal Chadhayo” from Vaastav (1999), which was sung devoutedly by Ravindra Sathe. With its true-blue Maharashtrian background and a pious tone, the song is now a regular at Ganesh aartis in millions of homes.

Another emotional track is “Ganpati Apne Gaon Chale” from Agneepath (1990), showcasing the visarjan (immersion) of Ganpati idol. The song conveys the bittersweet sentiment of saying goodbye to Bappa dancing to the rhythm of dhol and taasha.

Ajay–Atul’s “Deva Shree Ganesha” from the 2012 Agneepath remake echoes in pandals till date. Sung by Ajay Gogavale, it’s an assertive and devotional anthem that inspires devotees of all ages.

Dance, Devotion, and Drama

Contemporary Bollywood also blends devotion with energetic dance. “Gajanana” from Bajirao Mastani (2015), rendered by Sukhwinder Singh, taps into the visceral power of age-old dhols and Maratha bravery, while “Mourya Re” from Don (2006) introduces Shah Rukh Khan to the street carnival mayhem of Mumbai streets.

Other high-energy performances include “Sadda Dil Vi Tu” from ABCD (2013) and “Hey Ganaraya” from ABCD 2 (2015), with dancers employing their craft to convey piety.

“Suno Ganpati Bappa Morya” from Judwaa 2 (2017), featuring Varun Dhawan, gives a cheerful, youthful edge to Ganpati festivities.

Tradition Meets Cinema

Even in action-oriented or politically sensitive movies such as Sarkar 3 (2017), Amitabh Bachchan’s “Ganpati Aarti” is a moment of pause and sanctity.

Likewise, Tiger Shroff’s “Jai Ganesha” in Ganpath (2023) blends energetic dance with religious passion, representing the changing face of devotion on-screen.

A Sacred Bond Through Song

From the emotional to the electrifying, these songs underline Bollywood’s unique ability to preserve and elevate Ganesh Chaturthi. They reflect not only the religious essence of the festival but also its role in uniting communities through music, dance, and shared tradition.
