Neil Young Officially Releases Donald Trump Takedown “Big Crime”

by jummy84 September 4, 2025
written by jummy84

As conspiracy theories swirl around his current health , Donald Trump hasn’t exactly had the best couple of days. Well, Neil Young is about to make it just a little bit worse as he officially releases his latest protest banger, “Big Crime,” to streaming services everywhere.

If you recall, Young and his band Chrome Hearts debuted the song in late August during their soundcheck at Chicago’s Huntington Bank Pavilion. (The show featured something of a “protest medley,” as “Big Crime” was slotted alongside songs like “Be the Rain,” “Southern Man,” “Ohio,” and “Sun Green.”) Check out the music video below, which is a bare-bones performance piece that captures as much ’60s-era defiance as that same era’s robust psychedelic vibes. “Big Crime’ is also available to download via the Neil Young Archives.

The stomping anthem calls to “clean the White House out” and takes direct aim at the Trump administration’s takeover of Washington, DC’s law enforcement: “Don’t want soldiers on our streets/ There’s big crime in DC at the White House,” Young sings.

In the arsenal of Young’s many potent protest jams, “Big Crime” feels like a proper standout. Admittedly, the lyrics (written out below) aren’t as verbose and mighty as, say, “Rockin’ in the Free World.” However, when you pair “Big Crime” with other recent takedowns like “Let’s Roll Again” and “If You’re a Fascist, Get a Tesla,” we see that Young is trading in some of that wit and nuance for a directness that the MAGA folk need to really get the message.

If you want to potentially stick it to Trump alongside the Canadian crooner, Young has a handful of dates for September. Grab your tickets here.

Neil Young 2025 Tour Dates:
09/04 – Woodinville, Washington @ Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery
09/06 – Burnaby, Canada @ Deer Lake Park

09/12 – Mountain View, California @ Shoreline Amphitheatre
09/15-16 – Los Angeles, California @ Hollywood Bowl

“Big Crime” Lyrics (Emphasis by artist):

No more great again

bitchy | Donald Trump will do a proof-of-life press conference today, his first in a week

written by jummy84

Did everyone have a restful Labor Day weekend? I really needed that – three days to decompress and relax. I’m ready for September now, I’m ready for whatever autumn has in store. Well, during the holiday weekend here in America, there was a significant amount of chatter about Donald Trump’s health. You see, Trump hasn’t had anything on his public schedule since last Tuesday, one week ago. On August 26 (the photo above), he chaired a cabinet meeting. Since that, nothing. He hasn’t given any unhinged press conferences or invited the press pool into the Oval Office for some kind of “signing ceremony” with a Sharpie. None of the White House press corps photographers have gotten any pics of him in a week. Instead, there were rumors circulating that Trump had been rushed to Walter Reed, that he suffered some kind of serious medical situation.

Keep in mind, throughout the holiday weekend, “Trump” kept posting on Truth Social, but those posts sound nothing like him. They sound like Stephen Miller trying and failing to imitate Dear Leader. At the same time, MAGA social media kept posting old photos of Trump and claiming that those photos were new. Even the White House account seemingly posted a months-old photo of Trump and suggested that it was new. Well, there were some genuine “sightings” of Bigly Foot – grainy pics where it looked like Trump’s head had been shaved under his hat. It also looks like his forehead is melting. I don’t even know at this point. What I do know is that Beltway media continues to be worthless – absolutely no one was camped out at Walter Reed, absolutely no one covered the weirdness around the old photos being passed off as new, and no one covered the growing social media chatter. Imagine if Joe Biden’s behavior was ever this strange.

Well, apparently Trump is giving a press conference at 2 pm today. I doubt it will be anything significant, but that’s just me trying to temper my expectations. I’m including some of the social media stuff below.

Why the Internet Thought Trump Died – Hollywood Life

Donald Trump became one of the internet’s highest searches in America on August 30, 2025, after baseless death rumors circulated online. Social media users assumed that the Republican president, 79, had died. Now that multiple outlets have reported that he was in Virginia on his way to a golf course, the public is wondering how the death hoax started in the first place.

Perhaps adding fuel to the fire was Vice President JD Vance, who spoke with USA Today in an interview published August 30 about the president’s health. The VP insisted that Trump’s health was in good standing, but Vance noted that he is ready and willing to become president if “God forbid, there’s a terrible tragedy.”

Below, find out how the false death rumors about Trump surfaced.

Is Trump Actually Dead?

No, Trump is alive. The president shared a message to Truth Social at 6:10 p.m. ET on Truth Social about tariffs.

His post read, “ALL TARIFFS ARE STILL IN EFFECT! Today a Highly Partisan Appeals Court incorrectly said that our Tariffs should be removed, but they know the United States of America will win in the end. If these Tariffs ever went away, it would be a total disaster for the Country. It would make us financially weak, and we have to be strong. The U.S.A. will no longer tolerate enormous Trade Deficits and unfair Tariffs and Non Tariff Trade Barriers imposed by other Countries, friend or foe, that undermine our Manufacturers, Farmers, and everyone else. If allowed to stand, this Decision would literally destroy the United States of America. At the start of this Labor Day weekend, we should all remember that TARIFFS are the best tool to help our Workers, and support Companies that produce great MADE IN AMERICA products. For many years, Tariffs were allowed to be used against us by our uncaring and unwise Politicians. Now, with the help of the United States Supreme Court, we will use them to the benefit of our Nation, and Make America Rich, Strong, and Powerful Again! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

Donald Trump Death Rumors Explained

On August 29, 2025, rumors gradually circulated online claiming that Trump hadn’t been seen in two days. The next morning, the hashtags “#whereistrump” and “#trumpisdead” became a popular X.com trend.

Baseless tweets that read “TRUMP IS DEAD” and “TRUMP DIED” quickly made the rounds online, but multiple outlets and news reporters quickly shut down the rumors.

Daily Caller White House correspondent Reagan Reese tweeted, “I wake up to see people freaking out that Trump’s sick or dead or something because he hasn’t been seen in a few days. I was with the president yesterday afternoon. I interviewed him for an hour.”

At the time of publication, the White House has yet to publicly comment on the death rumors.

BREAKING: Trump is NOT dead.

Minutes ago, the White House press pool spotted him leaving for his Virginia golf resort, dressed in a white polo, red MAGA hat, and black pants.

— Republicans against Trump (@RpsAgainstTrump) August 30, 2025

Why Did the Internet Think That Trump Died?

It all started with the claim that Trump hadn’t been seen in two days, which was proven false by multiple reports. However, the White House’s silence on the rumors contributed to the speculation.

Moreover, Trump is now the oldest inaugurated president in the U.S. He was 78 when he officially took office in January 2025.

How Is Trump’s Health Today?

According to the president himself, his inner circle and his colleagues, Trump is in good health. Vance defended this claim during his recent USA Today interview.

“He’s got incredible energy, and while most of the people who work around the President of the United States are younger than he is, I think we find that he actually is the last person who goes to sleep, he’s the last person making phone calls at night, and he’s the first person who wakes up and the first person making phone calls in the morning,” Vance said. “Yes, terrible tragedies happen, but I feel very confident the President of the United States is in good shape, is going to serve out the remainder of his term and do great things for the American people.”

The vice president added that he’s ready to take office if “God forbid, there’s a terrible tragedy,” adding, “I can’t think of better on-the-job training than what I’ve gotten over the last 200 days.”

bitchy | Donald Trump terminated Kamala Harris’s Secret Service protection

by jummy84 August 30, 2025
written by jummy84

In the pre-Donald Trump era, former presidents, former vice presidents and former first families would all get Secret Service protection and that protection was never politicized. President Biden never politicized the protection given to Trump’s extended family after 2020, just as President Obama never politicized the protection given to the Bush family. You just… let the Secret Service do their jobs, and if they feel that certain people need protection, so be it. Presidents can also issue directives or executive orders for extended protection for any length of time. Which is what Joe Biden did for Kamala Harris – he extended her protection out of office via an EO. Well, now Trump has revoked it.

President Trump has terminated former Vice President Kamala Harris’s Secret Service protection, according to a letter obtained by The New York Times. Mr. Trump signed a memorandum on Thursday that will end Ms. Harris’s protection as of Monday.

The Secret Service usually protects a former vice president for six months after they leave office, but President Joseph R. Biden Jr. had signed an order extending Ms. Harris’s protection beyond that, according to a person familiar with the arrangement. Without that extension, Ms. Harris’s protection would have concluded in July.

“The Vice President is grateful to the United States Secret Service for their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to safety,” Kirsten Allen, a senior adviser to Ms. Harris, said in a statement. The White House declined to comment. The Secret Service did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The end of Ms. Harris’s protection comes just before she is set to embark on a nationwide tour to promote her new book about her presidential campaign. The book, titled “107 Days,” is scheduled to be published Sept. 23.

Since taking office, Mr. Trump has ended Secret Service protection for a number of people. Within hours of being sworn in, he removed the security detail for John R. Bolton, one of his former national security advisers with whom he had a falling out. He also revoked protection for Mike Pompeo, one of his former secretaries of state, and Brian Hook, a former aide, despite warnings that the men faced ongoing threats from Iran. In March, Mr. Trump also ended Secret Service protection for Mr. Biden’s children, Hunter and Ashley. Mr. Biden had issued an executive order that extended protection to them.

[From The NY Times]

Trump is not simply politicizing who gets protection and who doesn’t, he’s actively putting targets on his “enemies” and trying to create situations where his violent wingnuts harm those people. I hate that the first Black woman to serve as VPOTUS will now have to pay for her own security. I would also assume that in Kamala’s case in particular, California’s state police might pick up some of the slack when it comes to her security. She was the state’s senator and attorney general, after all.

Neil Young goes after Trump in new protest song, ‘Big Crime’ – National

by jummy84 August 29, 2025

Legendary Canadian rocker Neil Young debuted a new song this week, titled Big Crime, which not-so-subtly takes aim at U.S. President Donald Trump.

Young played the new track criticizing the Trump administration at his show in Chicago with his band The Chrome Hearts on Wednesday, and later posted the song’s lyrics on his Neil Young Archives website.

“There’s big crime in D.C. at the White House,” the 79-year-old rock icon sings in the chorus. Other lyrics aimed at Trump but not mentioning the president by name include “don’t need no fascist rules, don’t want no fascist schools, don’t want no soldiers walking on the streets.”

“Got to get the fascists out, got to clean the White House out, don’t want soldiers on our streets,” Young sings.

He also takes Trump’s signature slogan, “Make America Great Again,” and repeats throughout the song, “No more great again.”

Young’s new song makes reference to Trump sending thousands of National Guard troops and federal law enforcement officials into Washington in a bid to fight the violent crime he claimed had strangled the city. Last week, Trump said he wants US$2 billion from Congress to beautify Washington as part of his crackdown on the city.

The development in Trump’s effort to override the law enforcement authority of state and local governments comes as he is considering expanding the deployments to other Democratic-led cities, including Baltimore, Chicago and New York.

Young, who is a Canadian-American dual citizen, has directly criticized Trump in the past. In May, he told Trump to stop “worrying” about what Bruce Springsteen and other celebrities think of him.

In a post on his website, Young told Trump he should focus on “saving America from the mess you made” instead of arguing with celebrities who have criticized him, like his recent feud with Springsteen.

“What are you worryin’ about man?” Young wrote in the post. “Bruce and thousands of musicians think you are ruining America. You worry about that instead of the dyin’ kids in Gaza. That’s your problem.

“I am not scared of you. Neither are the rest of us. You shut down FEMA when we needed it most. That’s your problem Trump. STOP THINKING ABOUT WHAT ROCKERS ARE SAYING.”

Young added that Taylor Swift “is right” and “so is Bruce.” (Swift was a subject of one of Trump’s Truth Social posts in May. He wrote: “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’”)

“You know how I feel. You are more worried about yourself than AMERICA,” Young added. “Wake up Trump!! Remember what the White House is?”

“You are forgetting your real job. You work for us. Wake up Republicans! This guy is out of control. We need a real president,” Young concluded his post.

Young’s post came after Trump escalated his feud with Springsteen, calling for a “major investigation” into the rock legend after Springsteen branded the Trump administration as “corrupt, incompetent and treasonous” during a concert in England.

In early April, the Harvest Moon singer voiced concern that he may not be allowed to re-enter the United States after his European tour due to his criticism of Trump.

Young spoke out about his fears in a post on his Neil Young Archives website.

“When I go to play music in Europe, if I talk about Donald J. Trump, I may be one of those returning to America who is barred or put in jail to sleep on a cement floor with an aluminum blanket,” the folk-rock icon wrote.

“If I come back from Europe and am barred, can’t play my USA tour, all of the folks who bought tickets will not be able to come to a concert by me,” he added. “That’s right folks, if you say anything bad about Trump or his administration, you may be barred from re-entering USA. If you are Canadian. If you are a dual citizen like me, who knows? We’ll all find that out together.”

As Young has done many times in the past, he did not hold back about his feelings on Trump in his post, writing, “If the fact that I think Donald Trump is the worst president in the history of our great country could stop me from coming back, what does that say for Freedom? I love America and its people and its music and its culture.… Remember Freedom of Speech?”

Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce Engaged: Donald Trump Wishes Them Luck, Puts Aside Past Differences | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 August 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Following almost two years of courtship, international pop star Taylor Swift and NFL legend Travis Kelce have finally confirmed their engagement, leaving fans and the media in a whirlwind. The two revealed the news on Instagram on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, through a series of whimsical photographs taken in a garden dotted with flowers.

A Whimsical Instagram Announcement

Swift, 35, broke the news to her 280 million fans, sharing a picture of herself and Kelce, 36, hugging in a flower-filled garden. The singer captioned the photo with a cheeky line: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” which went viral almost immediately on social media. Swift flaunted a stunning custom diamond ring in the photos, and both of them were seen beaming with happiness.

The Proposal: A Missouri Moment of Intimacy

As told by Ed Kelce, Travis’s dad, the proposal happened a fortnight before it was made public. Kelce asked the question in a secluded garden in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, taking a quiet place for the iconic moment. Swift supposedly wore a Ralph Lauren silk striped dress, whereas Kelce gave her the bespoke-designed diamond ring fans are already fawning about on social media.

From Bracelet to Bride-to-Be

Their romance began in 2023, when Kelce notoriously tried to present Swift with a friendship bracelet bearing his telephone number at the course of one of her Eras Tour performances. Although he wasn’t successful that evening, the act paved the way for the two eventually finding each other—and the remainder, so to speak, is background noise. From NBA games played courtside to Swift cheering on from the VIP lounge at Chiefs matches, the pair have become quite the most gossiped-about couple in popular culture.

Trump’s Uncharacteristic Response

In a surprising turn of events, even the former President Donald Trump weighed in with good wishes for the couple. Following a Cabinet meeting, he said to journalists, “I wish them a lot of luck. I think he’s a great guy, and she’s a terrific person.” A stark reversal from previous trenchant criticisms of Swift, including a 2024 Truth Social entry reading, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” over her support of Kamala Harris.

Merging Music and Sports in Viral Style

The couple’s engagement has made the headlines across the globe, marking the coming together of America’s two favorite industries: music and sports. With Swift’s international fame and Kelce’s NFL celebrity, their path to the altar is bound to be one of the most watched celebrity tales of the next year.

Trump Is Asked By Reporter About Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce Engagement

by jummy84 August 26, 2025
written by jummy84

As Donald Trump took questions at a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, one reporter asked him about the big breaking pop culture news of the day: The announcement that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were engaged.

“Well, I wish them a lot of luck,” Trump said. “He’s a great player, and I think he’s a great guy, and I think that she’s a terrific person, so I wished them a lot of luck.”

The answer from Trump was a bit of surprise, as he has denigrated Swift previously on social media. Just a few weeks ago, he called Swift a “woke singer” and “no longer hot.” His campaign also dismissed her endorsement of Kamala Harris last year, while Trump himself raged at one point, “I hate Taylor Swift.” Swift also endorsed Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.

The engagement was announced on Swift’s Instagram feed earlier on Tuesday, in which she wrote, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” Her post quickly generated coverage on cable news networks, certainly aware of the potential draw to any story about Swift, who has 280 million Instagram followers. Trump has 36.8 million on the platform.

The reporter who asked about the engagement was Reagan Reese of The Daily Caller.

bitchy | Donald Trump didn’t slather makeup on his bruised & discolored hand this week

by jummy84 August 26, 2025
written by jummy84

Donald Trump had some events and meetings yesterday in the White House, which I’ll get to in a moment. For most of his events, he either hid his right hand under the desk, or he placed his left hand over his right to hide the large bruise or whatever that is. On Monday, Trump didn’t slather off-color makeup on the bruise, like he was doing last week. Maybe his staff told him that the makeup was more noticeable than the bruise? Whatever it was, we can see the dark discoloration in a few shots from Getty (I’m including them below). My question: why isn’t this headline news? Every time Joe Biden stuttered or tripped, it was a banner headline in every newspaper, questioning Biden’s age and capability. Why not… just do the same thing with Trump, who is clearly unwell, who has tree-trunk cankles, and who rants constantly about weird sh-t like magnets?

As for the business of state… well, yesterday was a bad day. Trump announced that he will fire Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, because he wants the Fed to lower interest rates. He’s also had a hate-on for Cook because she’s a Black woman. Trump is also threatening to send federal troops into other American cities, especially Chicago. Washington DC is apparently a ghost town right now, with restaurants, bars and any tourist-friendly business getting crushed by the military presence in the city. Trump said, in the Oval, that “A lot of people are saying, ‘Maybe we’d like a dictator.’”

Bill Maher Teases Trump Support Over Marijuana

As Donald Trump flirts with reclassifying marijuana, Bill Maher appears to be done flirting with his support for the twice-impeached president and ready to commit.

On Friday’s episode of Real Time, the comedian seemed to finally pledge his allegiance to the MAGA party, teasing that “finally, he got around to me” with the announcement that he’s considering following through on President Biden‘s push to reschedule cannabis as a less dangerous substance under federal law.

“I told ya so,” he said during his ‘New Rules’ segment. “I’ve been telling Democrats for years, the Republicans are gonna steal pot from you as an issue.”

Maher added, “What did you expect? He’s the master at winning votes from small groups who are passionate about one issue, picking up a couple percent here, a couple there, until on election Night, it’s ‘Y-M-C-A!’”

As he closed out the episode, Maher appeared to come out as one of those “one issue” voters, comparing his support to Black voters showing up for Trump in 2020.

“Did he win the Black vote?” asked Maher. “Not even close, but he doubled what he got in 2020, and in places like Philly, Detroit and Milwaukee, that was the difference. And now he’s gonna do it with pot. Finally, he got around to me.”

Following the Biden administration’s plans to reclassify marijuana, Trump said he should have a decision in the “next few weeks,” which could serve as a boost for the cannabis industry. As a co-owner of the West Hollywood cannabis lounge The Woods, Maher would certainly benefit from that boost.

Back in April, Maher swore he “didn’t go MAGA” during his dinner at the White House with Trump and mutual friend Kid Rock.

Jack White Responds to Trump Official Calling Him a “Washed-Up, Has-Been Loser”

Jack White is a longtime critic of President Donald J. Trump and his administration, and the musician has even taken legal action against the politician and his campaign. The latest chapter in the saga of White vs. White House came earlier this week when the White Stripes rocker insulted Trump’s redecoration of the Oval Office, saying that it now looks like “a vulgar, gold leafed and gaudy, professional wrestler’s dressing room.” The barb elicited a response from Steven Cheung, the White House communications director, who told The Daily Beast that White is “a washed up, has-been loser posting drivel on social media because he clearly has ample time on his hands due to his stalled career.”

Cheung further defended his boss’ aesthetic choices, telling the outlet: “It’s apparent he’s been masquerading as a real artist, because he fails to appreciate, and quite frankly disrespects, the splendor and significance of the Oval Office inside of ‘The People’s House.’”

The war of words continued yesterday (August 20), with White sharing a lengthy statement against Trump and his administration on Instagram. White criticized Trump’s “blatant fascist manipulation of government, his gestapo ICE tactics, his racist remarks about Latinos, Native Americans, etc. his ridiculous ‘wall’ construction, his attacks on the disabled, his attempted coup and mob insurrection and destruction of the sacred halls of congress,” and plenty more. He went on to use Cheung’s words against Trump, writing that the president “is masquerading as a human being,” and “masquerading as a christian, as a leader, as a person with actual empathy.”

Several artists—including Margo Price and Michigander’s Jason Singer—have supported White in the comments on his post. “You hit a fuckin’ nerve ‘cuz they don’t put out statements this length for earthquakes and shootings,” Patton Oswalt wrote. “Keep going.” Cat Power’s Chan Marshall added, “LOVE YOU JACK❤️‍🔥.”
