bitchy | Prince Harry visited with the Duke of Kent & the Kent family during his UK trip

by jummy84 September 22, 2025
written by jummy84

Just days before Prince Harry traveled to England for a four-day blitz of events, his distant relative passed away. Katherine, the Duchess of Kent, died on September 4. Harry arrived in England on September 8th, but he had exited the UK and Ukraine at least one or two days before the duchess’s funeral on September 16th. Many royalists wondered aloud if Harry would find a way to stay in London for the duchess’s funeral. Alas, he did not, preferring to spend his birthday (the 15th) with his wife and children in California. Still, Harry did something really sweet when he was in town – he stopped by Kensington Palace to visit the Duke of Kent and the Kent family.

The Duke of Sussex has been back home in Montecito for nearly a week, but his visit to the UK is still making headlines. Harry spent four days in the London attending events close to his heart, including the WellChild Awards, where he gave an exclusive interview to HELLO!, and the Diana Award, before travelling to Ukraine on 12 September and then returning to Los Angeles.

Amid his packed schedule, the Duke managed to reunite with his father, King Charles, for the first time in nearly two years – and also made time for another deeply personal visit.

As revealed in this week’s episode of A Right Royal Podcast, a source confirmed to hosts Andrea Caamano and Emily Nash that although Harry missed the funeral of the Duchess of Kent, he travelled privately to Kensington Palace to “personally pay his respects and offer condolences” to the Duke of Kent.

“He has loved catching up with family, friends and colleagues,” a source close to the Duke adds. “His only regret was not being able to stay longer and see more people, but the meetings in Ukraine had been in the diary for a long time and it mattered to him to be there in person to see the Invictus Games Foundation’s growing work and the progress at Superhumans.”

The source added: “The whole trip felt like a real success for everyone involved. His passion for his patronages and the causes he cares about hasn’t dimmed one bit – he’s already buzzing to get back and do more.”

[From Hello]

That’s very sweet. I have no idea if Harry was genuinely close to the Kents, but he did invite them to his 2018 wedding, and that was one of the duchess’s few public appearances in the final decade of her life. Plus, I’m sure Harry saw the Duchess of Kent more like a dear friend to his mother. When you consider the Diana connection, it makes more sense that he wanted to pay his respects and visit with the Kents. I’m sure they understood why he couldn’t make the funeral as well – all things considered, I’m glad Harry wasn’t there. They would have made this poor woman’s funeral all about Harry and his grim, unmoisturized brother.

My Trip to Portugal Reminded Me: I Deserve Luxury

Lisbon itself blew me away. The city is colorful, busy, and alive, but what really stood out was the Black community. Lisbon has deep African roots, and as a Black traveler, I felt both safe and welcomed. People were friendly, warm, and quick to make me feel at home. And the food? Top tier. I had some of the best roasted chicken I’ve ever had in my life there. I also had tons of wine. My absolute favorite white wine, Fio A Fio, comes from Portugal. Which makes sense, because they’re famous for their wine!

First Look Teaser for ‘New Years Rev’ – A Green Day Story Road Trip

“How are we getting there?” “We’re taking Wayne’s car.” Green Day has revealed a teaser trailer for a new film titled New Years Rev, a fictional feature film about an up-and-coming rock band that thinks they’re opening for Green Day. It’s produced by Green Day, but not really about them! The film just premiered at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival this week, hence this teaser trailer dropping now to celebrate its unveiling. The flick is titled New Years Rev – a coming-of-age road trip film. The story of three young punks willing to risk it all to follow their dream… A garage rock trio gets the opportunity of a lifetime to open up for a Green Day concert and hit the road across America to make the gig. The only problem is… they didn’t realize it was a prank. Directed by Lee Kirk, the indie film stars Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman, Ryan Foust, along with Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Fred Armisen, Bobby Lee, Mckenna Grace, Keen Ruffalo, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio, and Sean Gunn. Looks like good fun! Coming-of-age teenage mania on the road.

Here’s the first teaser trailer for Lee Kirk’s film New Years Rev, direct from Green Day’s YouTube:

New Years Rev Teaser

New Years Rev Teaser

Intro via TIFF: “Since Green Day burst onto the scene in the 1990s, their sound and success have helped launch a countless number of garage rock bands, each aspiring to channel the group’s energy & attitude. Among the most committed are The Analog Dogs, [a rock band] who want nothing more than to meet Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool. Forcing their way to drop off a demo to their beloved idols in hopes of earning some recognition, they instead get an extremely rare opportunity — to open up for Green Day at their New Year’s concert. Or so they think. Unbeknownst to them, the opener gig is actually a prank played on them by one of their brothers. Nevertheless, naively optimistic, the young trio set off on the road from Kansas to California, with wide-eyed dreams of being on stage alongside their heroes.” 🤘🎸

New Years Rev is written and directed by the American actor / writer / filmmaker Lee Kirk, director of the films The Giant Mechanical Man and Ordinary World previously, plus a few other short films. Produced by Tim Perell, Jolene, Stella Bulochnikov, Robin Rapino, Ryan Kroft, Anna Keegan, and the band Green Day. This is premiering at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival this month playing in the Centerpiece section, but no other premieres set yet. No US release date is set – stay tuned for updates. Look any good? Anyone curious?

Inspiring Doc ‘Memphis to the Mountain’ Trailer About a Climbing Trip

by Alex Billington
September 5, 2025
Source: YouTube

“Not everyone’s going to be able to make it up.” Hulu has unveiled the official trailer for Memphis to the Mountain, a new three-part documentary series – now streaming on Hulu as of this weekend. An inspiring story about how rock climbing can actually change lives. The project was inspired by & born from Memphis Rox, a nonprofit climbing gym / community center founded by Tom Shadyac and Chris Dean, which has served as a beacon of hope and opportunity in South Memphis (check it out here). Known as one of the most underserved communities in the country, South Memphis is a neighborhood with roots in Black American history and culture—home to Stax Records, the birthplace of Aretha Franklin, and the final pulpit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., where he delivered his iconic “Mountaintop” speech a day before his assassination. Memphis to the Mountain captures a bold, cinematic expedition in which a handful of young climbers from Memphis Rox embark on a life-changing journey to climb a big rock wall on Mt. Kenya in Africa—leaving behind daily adversity to scale new literal and metaphorical heights in the world of elite mountaineering. This is actually a really moving story to tell and confirms how rock climbing is more than just a fun sport.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Zachary Barr’s doc Memphis to the Mountain, from YouTube:

Memphis to the Mountain follows a determined group of young climbers from one of South Memphis’s most overlooked and hard-edged neighborhoods—where climbing is virtually unknown—as they set out to conquer a 16,000-foot rock tower on Mt. Kenya. Over the course of a year, they must endure grueling preparation, training alongside some of the sport’s most renowned figures, including Alex Honnold and Philip Henderson. Battling thin air, raw fear, and the limits of their own endurance, they come to realize that the hardest climb isn’t the mountain—it’s transforming who you believe you can be. A story of grit, transformation, and the unshakable power of reaching beyond what you thought possible. Memphis to the Mountain is directed by filmmaker Zachary Barr, director of the doc film Black Ice and many Reel Rock films as well. Made by Sender Films & Shady Acres Entertainment. Exec produced by Tom Shadyac, Kelley L. Carter, Jason Aidoo, Peter Mortimer, & Zachary Barr. Hulu will debut the Memphis to the Mountain doc series streaming on Hulu starting September 5th, 2025 – it’s available to watch now. Anyone interested?

Stressed over trip planning as a couple? Top 5 tips for a perfect vacation: Budgeting to dividing responsibilities | Travel

Instead of bickering over your trip plan, here’s an easy couple’s guide to make travel stress-free and bond well.

Trip planning should not ideally follow a one-size-fits-all approach, with generic itineraries and copy-paste schedules, sightseeing spots. The plan depends on the family size: be it a multigenerational family with kids and grandparents, a solo traveller, or parents with little children. Likewise, a couple’s trip needs to prioritise planning that includes fun, intimate time together for relaxation and bonding.

Heniel Rupaarelia, founder and managing director at ETrav Tech Ltd, shared with HT Lifestyle five tips for couples on how to plan their trips:

1. Make it experience-first

  • Select destinations that combine romance with light adventure, such as beaches, hillside retreats or cultural hubs, where mornings might mean hiking misty trails and evenings end with wine by the ocean. Replace rigid timetables with freedom.
  • Renting bicycles in safe areas offers spontaneity and shared exploration in a way private cars rarely can.
  • Keep at least one day unscheduled and plan a spontaneous visit to a local cafe, a hidden waterfall or a market unknown to guidebooks.

2. Budget smart, not tight

Make a checklist as you head to the destination.(Freepik)
Make a checklist as you head to the destination.(Freepik)
  • Blend indulgence with authenticity. Splurge on a scenic fine-dining experience but balance it with street food walks or local market tastings, which often reveal the most memorable flavours and stories.
  • Keep a flexible budget with a buffer for last-minute opportunities such as a surprise couple’s spa treatment, a private sunset sail or an offbeat cultural tour.
  • Skip the expensive glamour of Paris or London in peak season and instead, enjoy Vietnam’s charming cafes, Sri Lanka’s coastal escapes or Croatia’s romantic old towns at a fraction of the price with double the charm.

3. Balance sightseeing and downtime

  • It’s tempting to load the itinerary with every ‘must-see’, but overplanning can erode the very connection you’re travelling to nurture.
  • Trips with one to two planned activities per day have turned out to be more fruitful than those with three or more.
  • Build in slow mornings, unhurried meals and unstructured afternoons. Use in-between moments to share a coffee on a balcony, to spend a lazy afternoon in a hammock or to take a romantic stroll.

4. Divide responsibilities to avoid burnout

Divide the roles, while one handles the destination spotting, another takes care of commute plans.(Freepik)

  • Planning fatigue is real, and putting the entire burden on one partner risks imbalance.
  • The most efficient travel pairs adopt a split-and-conquer model. One handles flights, visas and core bookings, while the other shortlists hotels based on location, safety and ambience.
  • Assigning roles such as food scout or map master not only divides the workload but turns planning into a joint adventure.

5. Choose destinations that strengthen the bond

Ubud in Bali offers activities like couple spa.(Freepik)

  • Tourist-friendly hubs like Bali, Portugal or Japan offer the right mix of beauty, culture and ease of movement, all extremely crucial for a stress-free bonding. Avoid regions with safety concerns unless both are seasoned travellers.
  • Travel season matters, too. Shoulder seasons like April in Greece or September in Japan offer lower prices, fewer crowds and more space for intimacy. For couples travelling from India, short-haul destinations like the Maldives, Bhutan or Thailand provide seamless escapes without long layovers.
  • Design the trip to match your shared energy. Ubud in Bali offers couples’ spas and jungle views, Lake Bled in Slovenia delivers fairy-tale tranquillity and Hoi An in Vietnam charms with lantern-lit evenings.

Experience is paramount on a couple’s trip, slow, intimate moments which outshine the otherwise packed itineraries. From spontaneous detours to leisurely beginning the day with breakfast in bed, travelling for a couple is a good way to connect, especially for the new ones.

Selena Gomez Wore 2025’s It Uggs on Her Bachelorette Trip

by jummy84 August 26, 2025

In this day and age, year after year, right around August, everyone starts buzzing about which Ugg shoes will be the “It” style of the year. And by the time the holiday season rolls around, you won’t be able to find them anywhere. The It style is often a boot, but this time, it’s a style that’s even more wearable than the brand’s boots, and Selena Gomez is already the proud owner of 2025’s It Uggs.

Just a week ago, I declared my love for the Ugg Elea Slip-Ons, which are right in keeping with fall’s slipper mule trend. The fur-lined suede mules come in a handful of chic muted colors, and since I wrote about them, I’ve been checking the size selection on retailers that sell them and can confirm that they’re flying out of stock—especially in the Chestnut colorway that Gomez just wore. Gomez paired the Elea Slip-Ons with a black one-piece swimsuit and white beach pants on one occasion, and on another, she wore them with an oversized white sweatshirt and socks to catch a flight. Oh, and did I mention that this was on her reported bachelorette trip in Cabo San Lucas over the weekend? If the Ugg Elea slides are good enough for such a momentous occasion in Gomez’s life, they’re good enough for me to wear to pilates and Starbucks.

Keep scrolling to see the Ugg Elea slides on the feet of Selena Gomez in Cabo and shop every color they’re available in—from chocolate brown to butter yellow.
