Furthermore, Brown posted a photo of Garraway, captured from his 2005 ‘Say Goodbye’ music video. Additionally, Brown wrote, “REST IN PEACE JANINA [FOUR THREE RED HEART EMOJIS]! See his post and swipe to watch a scene from the music video below.

Who Was Janina Garraway?

According to her apparent official Instagram account, Janina Garraway was a professional dancer and real estate agent.

According to A GoFundMe campaign linked via her Instagram account, Garraway gave birth to a baby boy in January 2024. However, in March of that year, she was diagnosed with stage four colorectal adenocarcinoma. She reportedly began chemotherapy “right away.” But was unable to continue working. In August 2024, she took to the campaign to share that she underwent liver surgery and had three out of seven tumors removed. Then, in October of that year, she reportedly completed 12 chemotherapy sessions, which left her “reduced by 50 percent,” and her liver tumors lessened. In November, she underwent a “lengthy surgery” and was given a colostomy bag. However, by February, doctors discovered two more tumors in her liver.

“I share to encourage you to not allow the woes of life to get you down. God knows what he is doing and I know this is only a set up for a miracle. I no longer say I am still ‘fighting’ because I have surrendered all and I trust the process. I will continue to stay strong for my baby boy,” she wrote at the time.

Then, in April, it was shared that Garraway’s cancer had returned.

“I just have to keep on going and implement some chemo and radiation to systematically fight as well… I am very hopeful that I am doing the right things to eliminate the disease and be around for a long time for my son,” her last message on the platform reads.

Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley lead tributes

by jummy84 October 17, 2025
written by jummy84

Iconic KISS guitarist Ace Frehley has died, aged 74.

According to a statement shared by his family, Ace – also known as Spaceman – died “peacefully surrounded by family in Morristown, New Jersey, following a recent fall at his home”. An exact cause of death has yet to be shared.

“We are completely devastated and heartbroken,” Frehley’s family wrote in the statement. “In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth. We cherish all of his finest memories, his laughter, and celebrate his strengths and kindness that he bestowed upon others. The magnitude of his passing is of epic proportions, and beyond comprehension. Reflecting on all of his incredible life achievements, Ace’s memory will continue to live on forever!”

Frehley’s former bandmates Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley shared the following statement to Page Six: “We are devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley. He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and its history. He is and will always be a part of Kiss’s legacy. Our thoughts are with Jeanette, Monique and all those who loved him, including our fans around the world.”

Born Paul Daniel Frehley in New York City in 1951, he co-founded KISS in 1973 with singer Paul Stanley, bassist and part-time singer Gene Simmons and drummer Peter Criss. The members’ identities were famously kept secret until a decade after their debut, by which Frehley had left the band to pursue a solo career, coupled with his struggles with substance abuse and rising tension within the band about their direction.

In the years following his exit from KISS, Frehley formed a new band, Frehley’s Comet. The band released two albums, both of which failed to achieve commercial success. He reverted to using his own name for this 1989 album ‘Trouble Walkin”, which saw former bandmate Peter Criss provide backing vocals.

Frehley would rejoin KISS for their reunion in 1996 and stayed with them until 2002. He did not join them for their farewell world tour in 2022. Frehley and Simmons had a notably rocky relationship, with Simmons in 2019 claiming that Frehley was fired from the band for his substance abuse, while Ace argued that he was 12 years sober by then and quit “of my own free will, because you and Paul [Stanley] are control freaks, untrustworthy and were too difficult to work with”.

Among the songs Ace helped write for KISS were classics like ‘I Was Made For Lovin’ You’, ‘Rock And Roll All Nite’, ‘Detroit Rock City’, ‘Love Gun’ and more.

Earlier this month, Frehley cancelled his remaining solo dates for 2025 due to “some ongoing medical issues,” which has since been confirmed as the fall he suffered.

Other rock and music icons have paid tribute to the late Ace “Spaceman” Frehley since the tragic news of his death. Simmons wrote in a standalone post on X: “Our hearts are broken. Ace has passed on. No one can touch Ace’s legacy. I know he loved the fans. He told me many times. Sadder still, Ace didn’t live long enough to be honored at the Kennedy Ctr Honors event in Dec. Ace was the eternal rock soldier. Long may his legacy live on!”

Ace Frehley was the embodiment of rock ’n’ roll attitude — unapologetic, loud, and irresistibly catchy. His riffs had swagger, his tone had bite, and his presence lit up stages like a supernova. The Spaceman has left the stage, but his orbit will shine forever. pic.twitter.com/TDyDvEVA9i

The iconic actor-and-director died at the age of 89 on Tuesday morning (16.09.25) at his home at Sundance in the mountains of Utah, and Trump has said Redford’s passing was “a good way to go”.

Speaking to Reuters, Trump, 79, said: “Well, it’s a good way to go, I guess.

“Robert Redford was great. He had a series of years where there was nobody better.”

When asked what his favourite film of Redford’s was, Trump said: “You have a lot of them. He made seven or eight great films.

“There was a period when he was the hottest.”

Redford was one of the biggest stars and most acclaimed actors in Hollywood, having starred in hits such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, All The President’s Men and The Sting.

As well as his movies, Redford also left his impact on the movie industry after he helped establish Utah’s annual Sundance Film Festival.

Liam Payne‘s loved ones are honoring him on what would have been his 32nd birthday. On Friday, his sister Nicola shared a heartfelt tribute, recalling the time they spent together on his birthday last year, just two months before his death. His girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, also posted a touching letter to Payne.

“A year ago today, we were so full of hope and excitement for what the years ahead would bring you,” Nicola wrote on Instagram Friday, sharing a carousel of images of the two of them from over the years. “That night, celebrating your birthday with bowling and McDonald’s, we celebrated you, your show, your dreams, and spoke of all the plans you had for the future.”

“We ended the evening with a hug, telling you how proud we were and how much we loved you,” she added. “If I had known that would be the last time I’d see you, I would have said so much more.”

Nicola said she wished she could step “into a time machine” to relive that night and hug him once again, ask him more questions, and “write it down so I’d never forget.” She directed some sweet words to Liam, writing that she hopes he’s “at peace.”

“I miss you every single day, and I don’t think there will ever be a day that I don’t,” she wrote. “I want to wish you the happiest heavenly birthday. Wherever you are, I hope you’re celebrating.”

Cassidy also shared some photos of the two from over the years, writing that it “breaks my heart” to not give him a physical birthday card or hear his laugh once again.

“In your 31 years here on this earth, you brought so much joy, happiness and hope to so many- especially to me. I hope you know how brightly you still shine, even from up there,” Cassidy wrote. “I would give up years of my life just to give you a few more. I miss making memories with you. I miss having things to look forward to together.”

She added, “But today, my birthday gift to you is my strength. I promise you I will celebrate you extra today, honor your life, and cherish the beautiful times we’ve had. August 29th will be a date that sits in my heart for the rest of my life. I love you so much.”

The singer died on Oct. 16, 2024, after falling from the balcony of a hotel room in Buenos Aires. A Rolling Stone investigation included accounts from his inner circle describing the days before his tragic death. Netflix recently released Building the Band, in which Liam served as a mentor for new groups in formation. He was honored on the show as well.
