Trial 2 Actor Pamela Bhutoria Singh: Vidya Balan & Kajol Embody Qualities of Shakti Devi | Exclusive

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Actress Pamela Bhutoria Singh has carved a space for herself across Bengali cinema, Bollywood, and the OTT landscape. She was most recently seen in the second season of The Trial, where she shared the screen with Kajol. In conversation with Filmfare, Pamela reflected on her first day on the set with Kajol, the warmth and power of working alongside women like Vidya Balan (in Kahani) and Kajol, the pressures of navigating today’s social media-driven acting world, and the kind of stories that continue to draw her in.
You shared the screen with Kajol in The Trial 2. What was your first day with her like? How was her energy?

I remember being so nervous and excited on my first day. My very first shot was with her, and as I walked into the set and saw her, I was completely fangirling. She walked past me, and we exchanged looks. I think she wasn’t sure yet that I was the one playing Chitrangada. We finally met during the shot, and my director had to remind me, “You are this sassy, confident, and very smart individual who holds her own.” But there I was, acting like a little girl in awe.

What I’ll always remember about Kajol is her spirit. She’s so young at heart, full of life, and incredibly energetic. She laughs loudly, she’s kind, funny, and has this wonderfully high-spirited personality.

In the show, I played the “other woman”. The one who had a relationship with the man she liked. Off-screen, our chemistry was absolutely normal. Kajol was very nice and polite to me on set. There were no negative exchanges or emotions between us in the show, but her character was naturally a bit alarmed that someone else had entered Vishal’s life.
You have been a part of other good films as well. What’s your most vivid memory from that set with Vidya Balan?

Both Vidya Balan and Kajol are absolute powerhouses. Incredibly strong female leads. What they have in common is their kindness. They’re both very accommodating, aware of their power and position, and they use it beautifully. At the same time, they’re simple, grounded women — brilliant actors, accomplished individuals, and wonderful daughters. They embody all the qualities of Shakti Devi; powerful, enterprising, beautiful, and strong.

You’ve transitioned between Bengali cinema, Bollywood and OTT. What one digital-era skill do you think every actor now must master?

pamela
In today’s digital era, one skill every actor should master is self-promotion on social media. I personally lack the knack for editing videos, shooting the right content, or knowing exactly what to post. But unfortunately, it has become a necessary part of our profession now. I still believe that an actor’s talent should be judged by their performance — how well they deliver dialogues, embody a character, and act. Earlier, actors needed to know how to ride horses, perform action, sing, and dance — but now, sadly, mastering social media has become just as important.

How do you now choose roles that push beyond surface appeal into character depth?

I choose my roles based on the character — whether I resonate with it, and if I feel any emotion or empathy toward the person I’m portraying.

When you’re not acting, what kind of digital content do you personally love and consume?

When I’m not acting or working, I try to disconnect from digital content and go back to reading books, because I often find myself scrolling too much — something I absolutely dislike. I also listen to a lot of podcasts, especially on topics like health, body anatomy, and psychology.

What’s one performance of yours that you wish had gotten more attention?

Palisades Fire Suspect Gets December Trial Start

by jummy84 October 23, 2025
written by jummy84

UPDATE, 3:49 PM: A week after being indicted on charges of starting what became the devastating Palisades fire earlier this year, Jonathan Rinderknecht has a trial date.

Facing decades in prison if found guilty, the a 29-year-old ex-Uber driver’s trial in federal court is set to begin on December 16 in DTLA, the Department of Justice announced Thursday.

The trial start date reveal comes after Rinderknecht appeared in court in the City of Angeles today to enter a plea of not guilty. The feds had no comment Thursday on the arraignment or the upcoming trial. However, we do know that United States District Judge Anne Hwang will be overseeing the proceedings in the high profile case.

The subject of an intense investigation by various branches of government both national and state, Rinderknecht was arrested in Florida on October 8. Rampaging through the Westside neighborhood of Pacific Palisades in January, the “hold over” fire  that Rinderknecht is accused of starting a week before killed over a dozen people and decimated over 5,400 homes.

The Palisades was, of course, one of several blazes that hit LA County earlier this year. In Altadena, over 30 people were killed and more than 16,000 buildings left as little more than ash.

PREVIOUSLY, OCT 15 PM: A federal grand jury today indicted a 29-year-old former Uber driver who is charged with intentionally sparking what eventually became the Palisades Fire. The blaze, when coupled with the Eaton Fire, caused by one early estimate between $28 billion and $53.8 billion in property damage. That makes them — together or separately — likely the two most costly wildfires in U.S. history.

Jonathan Rinderknecht, a onetime Palisades resident who most recently lived in Florida, is charged in the three-count indictment with one count of destruction of property by means of fire, one count of arson affecting property used in interstate commerce, and one count of timber set afire, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

If convicted as charged, Rinderknecht would face a sentence of between five and 45 years in federal prison, prosecutors said.

Rinderknecht has been in federal custody since his arrest on Oct. 7. His next court appearance will be his arraignment, which is expected to occur in the coming weeks in U.S. District Court in downtown Los Angeles.

“A multi-agency investigation into the origin and cause of the massive Palisades Fire in Los Angeles, California, on January 7, 2025, has determined that it was a ‘holdover’ fire, i.e., a continuation of the Lachman Fire that began nearby early in the morning on January 1, 2025,” the complaint against Rinderknecht. It goes on to detail how an “agitated” Rinderknecht walked up Skull Rock Trailhead on NYE after dropping off Uber passengers just before midnight.

The Lachman Fire was an eight-acre blaze in the early morning near Via La Costa in the Palisades. First responders believed they had completely cleaned it up that same day, a supposition which is now in doubt.

“The investigative team determined that the cause of the Lachman Fire was incendiary, i.e., an intentional ignition of a fire in an area or under circumstances where or when there should not be a fire,” the filing adds. “The cause of the fire was determined to be the introduction of an open flame (likely a lighter) to a combustible material such as vegetation or paper.”

On Jan. 7, heavy winds caused the underground fire to surface and spread above ground in what became known as the Palisades Fire, which caused widespread damage in the Palisades. The fire burned 23,448 acres, destroyed about 6,800 structures and killed 12 people.

Using witness statements, video surveillance, cell data and analysis of fire dynamics and patterns at the scene, among other things, law enforcement determined that Rinderknecht “maliciously” set the Lachman Fire just after midnight on Jan. 1 on federal land, prosecutors said. The complaint notes that Rinderknecht at one point asked ChatGPT if “you at fault if a fire is lift [sic] because of your cigarettes.”

Jonathan Rinderknecht

Acting U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California

The suspect allegedly called 9-1-1 several times, but failed to get through due to bad reception on the trail. Later that early early New Year’s morning, Rinderknecht drove away from the area as LAFD started arriving on the scene, making a gesture to assist the firefighters, the complaint says.

A week later the same fire, which had likely smoldered underground, reemerged and became known as the Palisades Fire.

On the evening of Dec. 31, 2024, Rinderknecht was working as an Uber driver. Two passengers that he drove on separate trips between 10:15 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. that night later told law enforcement that they remembered Rinderknecht appeared agitated and angry, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

After dropping off a passenger in Pacific Palisades, Rinderknecht — who once lived in the neighborhood — drove toward Skull Rock Trailhead, parked his car, attempted to contact a former friend and walked up the trail, court papers show.

He then used his iPhone to take videos at a nearby hilltop area and listened to a rap song — to which he had listened repeatedly in previous days — whose music video included things being lit on fire, federal prosecutors allege.

At 12:12 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2025, environmental sensing platforms indicated the Lachman Fire had begun. Prosecutors contend that during the next five minutes, Rinderknecht called 911 several times, but didn’t get through because his iPhone was out of range. When he finally connected with 911, he was at the bottom of the hiking trail and reported the fire, according to cell data. By that point, a nearby resident already had reported the fire to authorities.

Rinderknecht then allegedly fled in his car, passing fire engines driving in the opposite direction. He then turned around and followed the fire engines to the scene, driving at a high rate of speed, prosecutors said.

He walked up the same trail from earlier that night to watch the fire and the firefighters, federal prosecutors allege, and at approximately 1:02 a.m., he allegedly used his iPhone to take more videos of the scene.

During a Jan. 24 interview with law enforcement in Florida, where he relocated after the fire, Rinderknecht allegedly lied about where he was when he first saw the Lachman Fire. He claimed he was near the bottom of a hiking trail when he first saw the fire and called 911, but geolocation data from his iPhone carrier showed that he was standing in a clearing 30 feet from the fire as it rapidly grew, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith call off divorce trial

The 47-year-old actor and the 39-year-old actress – who married in 2019 and split in 2023 – had been due to go to trial this week but asked that it be cancelled as they had been privately working on a custody deal for their five-year-old daughter Juno.

Jodie’s lawyer explained in court papers, obtained by Us Weekly: “[Turner-Smith and Jackson] are in the process of negotiating a custody judgment.

“The parties will return to the [a private judge they hired] to resolve any impasses in the proposed custody judgment.”

Jodie filed for divorce in October 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences”.

In her initial petition, she requested joint custody of and asked that neither party be awarded spousal support.

The pair agreed a divorce settlement after working with a mediator to create a temporary schedule for the 50-50 custody of Juno, but they hit a roadblock when they were unable to agree on where the youngster will be educated.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Jodie wanted a judge to force the ‘Dr. Odyssey’ actor to abide by a court order giving her the power to choose Juno’s elementary school.

She wanted the youngster to move somewhere new next year and, after researching the school, spoke with Joshua about it and made sure it was close enough to his home, but claimed he has refused to agree.

In December, Jodie accused her estranged husband of not giving her any child support while their divorce case was still pending.

In the paperwork, Jodie claimed she has been trying to keep their separation amicable but accused her estranged husband of dragging things out, unnecessarily increasing her legal bills, and making it impossible to support their daughter without his financial assistance.

Actors Joshua Jackson & Jodie Turner-Smith Call Off Divorce Trial Over Custody Dispute

Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith have called off their planned divorce trial, according to Us Magazine.

The trial had been expected to address custody matters in their ongoing separation.

Sources revealed that the decision to abandon the courtroom showdown was mutual, signaling that the former couple is likely pivoting to private negotiations instead.

While details remain scarce, the reversal of course suggests a shift away from a public battle over their child toward settling their disagreements behind closed doors.

On September 16, 2024, Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in New York by federal agents and was charged with three felony counts: racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The news came amid the rapper and music producer’s legal woes, including a 2023 lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, who claimed that he sexually assaulted her. Although he denied the claims and settled the case, Combs was placed under investigation by Homeland Security.

Diddy’s trial began in May 2025 and drew nationwide attention. After weeks of testimony, a jury acquitted him of the most serious charges—sex trafficking and racketeering—but found him guilty on two counts of Mann Act transportation to engage in prostitution. He has remained in custody at MDC Brooklyn as he awaits sentencing on October 3, 2025.

Below, learn more about Diddy’s legal troubles, the trial, and what’s next for the music mogul.

When Was Diddy’s Trial?

Diddy’s federal trial began on May 12, 2025, in New York. The government’s star witness was his ex-girlfriend Cassie, whose emotional testimony made headlines and struck a chord with both the courtroom and the public. Other witnesses included former Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard, Cassie’s best friend Kerry Morgan, and Combs’ former assistant David James, each offering accounts that added weight to the prosecution’s case.

After weeks of testimony, closing arguments were delivered during the week of June 24, 2025, before the jury began deliberations.

Why Was Diddy Arrested?

Diddy was arrested on September 16, 2024, and the charges against him were revealed when he was taken into custody on September 17. According to his indictment, he and his alleged accomplices participated in “sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice” all while allegedly running a “criminal enterprise.”

The music mogul is currently in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, told reporters at the time of his arrest, “He came to New York to basically engage the court system and start the case, and it will start today, and he’s going to plead not guilty.” Agnifilo added, “He’s going to fight this with all of his energy and all of his might and the full confidence of his lawyers.”

Why Were Diddy’s Houses Raided?

Homeland Security did not publicly explain the reason behind its raid on Diddy’s home. However, the agency released a statement to multiple outlets about the incident.

“Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners,” Homeland Security explained in a statement, per CNN. “We will provide further information as it becomes available.”

According to NBC, a source told the outlet that “three women and a man have been interviewed by federal officials in Manhattan in relation to allegations of sex trafficking, sexual assault and the solicitation and distribution of illegal narcotics and firearms.” The outlet also reported that Homeland Security and federal agents executed search warrants at Diddy’s L.A. and Miami properties. Following the raid, it was reported that law enforcement found firearms at both of the rapper’s residences.

What Did Diddy Do?

Combs previously made headlines for multiple allegations of sexual assault in late 2023. That November, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Ventura filed a lawsuit against him in the Federal District Court in New York City for alleged rape and abuse.

According to court documents from Ventura’s lawsuit, she accused Combs of “beating her” and “forcing her to have sex” with “male prostitutes” while Diddy allegedly recorded the sexual “encounters.” At the time when Ventura and Combs began dating when she was 19 and he was in his 30s. The exes had an on and off relationship for several years.

In response to the claims, Combs defended himself in an Instagram statement—which now appears to have been deleted.

“ENOUGH IS ENOUGH,” he wrote. “For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy. Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick pay day. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”

Diddy’s lawyer, Ben Brafman, also released a statement as well, denying the sexual assault allegations.

Shortly thereafter, Ventura and Combs settled the case that month. However, in December 2023, another woman came forward with accusations of sexual assault against Combs. She claimed that he raped her in 2003 when she was 17.

By early 2024, Diddy was facing five accusations of sexual assault. Among the accusers is a man who was 16 at the time of the alleged incident and a woman who was a 19-year-old college student when she alleges Combs raped her in a Manhattan hotel room in 2004. All of the alleged incidents occurred in New York City or the Hamptons, according to the suits. Two of the lawsuits include incidents alleged to have happened at Combs’ lavish Labor Day “White Parties” at his Hamptons property.

In April 2025, actor Terence Howard claimed that Combs tried to have sex with him in a past encounter. Howard unraveled the alleged incident during an appearance on the “PBD Podcast.”

During the opening statements of Diddy’s trial, prosecutors unveiled a startling new set of claims against him. Ventura claimed that her ex had a male escort urinate in her mouth and introduced her to his “freak offs.”

What Are Diddy’s Charges?

Prosecutors decided to drop three of the charges against Combs when closing arguments began in late June 2025. The dismissed charges, indicted in a letter to the judge, were the following: attempted kidnapping under both California and New York law, attempted arson under California law, and aiding and abetting sex trafficking, according to multiple outlets.

Metro Boomin Testifies, Gives His Side at Civil Rape Trial

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Hip-hop producer Metro Boomin told jurors at his civil rape case on Wednesday that he had two consensual encounters with his accuser in 2016, always wore a condom, and couldn’t wait for his trial to start so he could testify and give his side.

“Were you wrongly accused?” his lawyer, Lawrence Hinkle, asked inside a federal courtroom in downtown Los Angeles.

“Absolutely. I’ve been thinking about this day for a year,” the producer, whose legal name is Leland T. Wayne, told the jury. The influential producer, songwriter, and DJ said he found it “preposterous” that plaintiff Vanessa LeMaistre had accused him of raping her in a hotel without a condom in 2016 after handing her a drink that allegedly caused her to “black out.”

“I really don’t know where to start. This is crazy. I can’t even believe I’m up here doing this right now,” he said. “For her to accuse me of something like this, it’s something I could never fathom. I can’t even say what I think should happen to people who rape people.” Wayne testified that he lost his mother to domestic abuse and believes sexual abusers “should be tortured and killed.”

Asked point-blank if he ever sexually assaulted LeMaistre, he said, “Absolutely not.” Asked again minutes later, he said, “No way in the world.”

Wayne, 32, took the witness stand as his friend and fellow Atlanta-based artist Young Thug watched in the courtroom gallery. “I’m just here to support him,” Young Thug told Rolling Stone as he walked into the courthouse during the lunch break. “He’s a longtime friend.”

Earlier on Wednesday, LeMaistre finished her own testimony in the case, telling jurors she was still reeling from the recent loss of her newborn son in 2016 when she visited Wayne at a Los Angeles recording studio after ingesting half of a Xanax. She said Wayne handed her a shot that she sipped shortly before she passed out. LeMaistre said she later found herself drifting in and out of consciousness in a hotel room with Wayne on top of her, penetrating her vaginally and then performing oral sex on her. When she finally woke up completely hours later, Wayne allegedly ushered her out of a side door and pointed her to a car that returned her to the studio to retrieve her car, she testified.

Editor’s picks

“I was confused,” she told jurors of her immediate reaction. She said she didn’t go to the police right away or confront Wayne because she was still processing what happened. “It was very foggy for me waking up the next day,” she explained.

LeMaistre, who was 30 when she first met a 22-year-old Wayne in Las Vegas earlier that year, testified that she spoke about the alleged assault with a mental health professional she was seeing at a treatment center called Prototypes in the fall of 2016. She later discussed it with professionals again when she called a pair of rape hotlines in 2024, she said.

“Having lost my son, and the defendant assaulting me, have been the two, by far, worst things I’ve ever experienced in my life. It has been excruciatingly painful,” LeMaistre said on the witness stand. “This stole the past nine years of my life. I haven’t been able to have any healthy relationships. I want to get married one day.”

During a fierce cross-examination by Wayne’s other lawyer, Justin H. Sanders, LeMaistre defended a series of handwritten notes she wrote that were turned over to the defense in discovery. In journal entries dated June 14, 2017, LeMaistre used two different pen colors as she authored what appeared to be a conversation with someone named “Chrisie.” “All of it was me just self-soothing,” she testified.

Related Content

“When should I hit back Metro?” she wrote in the journal. “Will I sleep with him again?” Then switching to Chrisie’s voice, she wrote, “Yes, and it will be beautiful, great, amazing.” Asked what she meant by “again,” LeMaistre said “technically” she already had slept with Wayne, but “the conditions were rape.”

Sanders then turned to notes LeMaistre wrote during a 2024 trip to Peru, where she engaged in an extended “Ayahuasca ceremony,” a spiritual ritual involving the ingestion of a psychoactive plant used by indigenous cultures in the Amazon. In the notes titled “Plan Ayahuasca Gave Me,” LeMaistre wrote that she intended to “blow the whistle on Metro Boomin.” She also wrote that she planned to contact the law firm that singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura used to sue music mogul Sean Combs, and further planned to publish her “date rape” allegations in a post on social media. “We’re asking for 3.4 million to 3.7 million,” she wrote in her sometimes admittedly illegible handwriting.

“That was the number given to me,” Le Maistre testified about the amounts. Asked if she meant that the numbers were “given” to her during the Ayahuasca ceremony, she said, “Correct.”

With eight jurors listening intently, LeMaistre said that when she first heard the Wayne-produced song “Rap Saved Me” in 2017, she believed the lyrics were about her. In the chorus, artists 21 Savage and Offset rap, “She took a Xanny, then she fainted. I’m from the gutter, ain’t no changing. From the gutter, rap saved me. She drive me crazy, have my baby.”

LeMaistre also testified that she found out she was pregnant after visiting a Planned Parenthood in late 2016. As Sanders walked her through her medical records from Planned Parenthood, he showed jurors forms listed her last menstrual cycle had been on Oct. 1, 2016, and her “most recent unprotected sexual intercourse” as having been on Oct. 13, 2016. She denied experiencing any instances of “coercion” or intimate partner violence, the medical records said. Another record dated Nov. 7, 2016, said the gestational age of the fetus was five weeks and two days. LeMaistre, who had a non-surgical abortion to end the pregnancy, later contacted Planned Parenthood on Feb. 10, 2025, asking to amend the reported dates in her records and remove her “denial of coercion.”

“You knew when you tried to change those records that it was the only way you could make your story stick,” Sanders challenged LeMaistre. “You had to change the dates of the last unprotected sex, correct?” Sanders asked. LeMaistre denied the allegation. Sanders appeared to be suggesting that LeMaistre wanted to link her pregnancy to Wayne because it would support her claims that Wayne had unprotected sex with her and a reason to allegedly pen the lyrics “have my baby.”

In his own testimony, Wayne said he “never” has sex without a condom because he’s not ready to be a father. “Even at that time, my high school sweetheart and I were still using condoms. There was no way this girl I just met in Las Vegas, that I had unprotected sex with her,” he testified.

Asked if there was any truth to the allegation he personally authored or even “suggested” the cited lyrics in “Rap Saved Me,” Wayne replied, “None whatsoever. I just made the beat.”

Trending Stories

While LeMaistre was the sole witness for her entire case, Wayne called a clinical psychologist to the stand to testify about her assessment of the plaintiff. Dr. April Thames, chief psychologist at UCLA’s Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences, told jurors that she reviewed LeMaistre’s medical records and conducted her own 90-minute to two-hour exam with the plaintiff. She said she personally diagnosed LeMaistre with “borderline personality disorder with psychotic features.” Under cross-examination, she admitted that LeMaistre had not formally received that diagnosis before, though she previously had been diagnosed with major depressive disorder.

Both sides rested their cases on Wednesday afternoon. Closing arguments are set for Thursday.

Kangana Ranaut Withdraws Plea in Supreme Court, Faces Defamation Trial Over Farmers’ Protest Tweet

by jummy84 September 13, 2025
written by jummy84

Kangana Ranaut, actor and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP, has withdrawn her plea from the Supreme Court seeking to quash a criminal defamation complaint against her. The complaint stems from a retweet she made during the 2020-21 farmers’ protests against the now-repealed farm laws.

A bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta showed disinclination to entertain the plea, suggesting that Ranaut pursue alternative remedies before the trial court. This led her counsel to withdraw the petition. Ranaut had previously moved the top court after the Punjab and Haryana High Court dismissed her plea, ruling that she failed to establish that her allegedly defamatory post was made in good faith.

Justice Mehta expressed reservations about Ranaut’s comments, stating, “What about your comments? It was not a simple retweet. You have added your own comments. You have added spice.” When her counsel stated that Ranaut had issued a clarification, Justice Mehta responded that the clarification could be presented before the trial court.

Ranaut’s counsel also highlighted the difficulty of her traveling to Punjab, to which the bench suggested she could seek an exemption from personal appearance. The bench warned that if the counsel argued further, it might be constrained to make adverse comments that could prejudice her defense in the trial.

The defamation complaint was filed by Mahinder Kaur, a 73-year-old woman from Bathinda, Punjab, in January 2021. Kaur claimed that Ranaut made “false imputations and remarks” against her in a retweet, alleging that she was the same “dadi” (grandmother) who was part of the Shaheen Bagh protest.

Unless you don’t have a TikTok account, you probably know that Cardi B was on trial against a security guard over assault allegations — and the court case has gone viral on social media. The 32-year-old music artist didn’t hold her tongue while testifying, and her sassy remarks made headlines. As fans wait for updates on the case, the jury reached a verdict in the afternoon on September 2.

Hollywood Life has the latest updates on Cardi B’s trial verdict below.

Why Was Cardi B on Trial? Attack Allegations Explained

Cardi B was accused by security guard Emani Ellis of assaulting her in 2018 at an obstetrician’s office in Beverly Hills, California. Cardi  alleged that Ellis was recording her without consent in the office and instead there was no physical altercation — only a verbal argument. At the time, the “WAP” rapper was pregnant, and she wanted to keep it private.

“She couldn’t get a scratch from me because I didn’t touch her,” Cardi claimed on the stand. “She didn’t touch me. She was going to touch me, but she didn’t get to touch me.”

Ellis denied filming Cardi B and claimed the argument turned physical, alleging that Cardi spat on her and cut her cheek with her fingernails. Ellis is suing Cardi for $24 million in damages.

Yes. While major cable news networks are not livestreaming the trial, multiple livestreams are available on YouTube.

Cardi B’s Trial Verdict: Was She Found Guilty?

Rolling Stone reported on September 2 that a verdict had been determined in Cardi B’s case, but the details are still unclear at the time of publication. Per the publication, the jury — consisting of six men and six women — began deliberations at 2:15 p.m. that day and submitted a note at 3:15 declaring they had reached a verdict.

The jury found Cardi B not liable on all charges in the civil suit, according to ABC News.

Cardi B’s trial went viral on TikTok after she mouthed off on the stand more than once. Fans especially cackled at the moments when she held nothing back, including profanities, while repeating what she allegedly said to Ellis.

“I said b**ch get the f**k out my face. Why are you in my face?” Cardi said. “Why are you recording me? Ain’t you supposed to be security?”

After being questioned why she felt worried during her argument with Ellis, Cardi claimed it was because “this girl’s about to f**king beat my ass! Hello?”

The Grammy Award winner’s facial expressions and reactions also sparked laughter in the courtroom, as seen in multiple TikTok clips. One of the most viral moments came when she corrected a lawyer who asked why her hair had changed from black to platinum blonde. After chuckling for a moment, Cardi said, “They’re wigs.”

When Is the Cardi B Trial Over?

The trial was expected to end sometime in the second week of September. However, since a verdict was reached by the afternoon on September 2, the trial should end this week.
