Over on TikTok, toasty makeup is this season’s glam du jour. Using a colorimetry of brown, copper and orange tones, this beauty makeover is inspired by the gourmand shades of a toasted bread and caramel. The “toasted” effect from this tonal uniformity instantly brings a soft warmth to the face, without appearing artificial.
The result? A harmony of velvety browns and dark roast honey tones. The complexion is light and dewy, with light bases that let the skin breathe—consider applying your base with your fingers to really melt it in. The bronzy effect comes from the added sculpting touches after.
On the cheekbones, a peach or apricot blush diffuses a feel of radiance, giving the illusion of a summer freshness, with a smattering of sunburn-style blush across the bridge of the nose. With a highlight applied on the peaks of the face, subtle touches of champagne or gold catch the light in all of the right places. On the eyes, shadows come in shades of caramel, bronze, and smoky brown, applied in a halo across the lid to create a vaporous color. (You can achieve that by applying product lightly with the tip of your finger, or a super soft brush swept delicately across the lid crease). And finally, lips come in nude shades of honey, terracotta, or soft rose, with a glossy finish.
The finished look should feel luminous, sensual, and sun-kissed. It captures the spirit of an infinite summer, even at the start of the new school year.

We’ve reached that point in the year in which fall trends become less abstract and more tangible, as we start to actually spot them out in the wild. One trend category I’ve been on the lookout for IRL is sweaters. And just a few days ago, Kaia Gerber wordlessly made it known that she’s a fan of a sweater trend that’s about to be everywhere. The trend is rugby-inspired striped polo sweaters, which are in keeping with the sporty-preppy theme that’s been dominant in the fashion world this year.
For her outing in L.A., Gerber opted to pair her blue-and-red sweater with a navy mini skirt and flat black knee boots. Toxic workplaces have been the talk of the town for a very long time. Time and again, at every gathering, there’s always that frustrating rant about office drama that has everyone sitting on the edge of their seat. Typically, the plot includes a wide array of antagonists, from a micromanaging manager, unreasonable clients calling at 11 PM, snarky snitches, short-notice deadlines eating up weekends and endless office politics. But before we dive into decoding this empowering workplace trend, let’s first take a look at the benefits of a nurturing workplace environment. Often, employees’ health impacts are discussed in the context of a toxic environment. Since this trend is all about flipping the script, let’s begin right from the roots.
Dr Deepak Patkar, director of medical services at Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital in Mumbai, told us that supportive workplaces become a safe space for employees, both emotionally and physically. Organisations that respect trust and practice transparent communication, not just in words, but also in action, help employees feel valued and motivated to do their best.
He explained further how it positively influences employees, “Individuals working at these organisations develop a higher sense of self-worth and confidence as the leadership is often approachable and open to feedback. Employees also develop better mental peace and job satisfaction, contributing heavily to the turnover outcomes. Such environments also help people overcome their fears of public speaking or voicing out their opinions, becoming more professional and mindful communicators.”
As Mahatma Gandhi rightfully said, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” Likewise, whether you believe it or not, you can fundamentally transform your work life. Quiet thriving is all about a mindset that is embedded in personal purpose, not external validation all the time.

Quiet thriving is all about what you can control, rather than wasting your energy on things beyond your influence.
Ajeet Kumar Singh, Managing Director and Co-Founder of SAVE Solutions Pvt. Ltd explained Quiet thriving, and elaborating, “Quiet Thriving is about intentionally showing up at work in a way that personally matters to you-even if your workplace does not so that the experience does not weigh you down but instead enriches your spirit: setting limits, building social bonds at work, tweaking the job to suit one’s own strengths, and finding quick bursts of joy here and there. It’s not a riot; it’s just a soft-spoken way toward change.”
He further listed specifically how it’s helping employees and how workplaces can create a supportive environment:
Now, it would be unfair to put the entire onus on employees by expecting them to shift their mindset alone. Change is also a shared responsibility, so the heavy lifting of changing the workplace environment shouldn’t fall solely on them. Sure, employees need to focus on their work and avoid stressing over things beyond their control, but the workplace, too, needs to develop a nurturing environment for employee wellbeing and growth.

As someone who’s never lived outside of Southern California, I’m probably not one to talk when it comes to cold-weather clothes. However, I do know great style when I see it, and Alexa Chung’s latest outfit is cool personified. She was just photographed in rainy London wearing the outerwear trend that’s much trendier than a puffer coat but will keep you just as warm: a toggle coat. Also called a duffle coat, the silhouette popped up on the fall/winter 2025 runways at Prada, Altuzarra, Burberry, Coach, Lemaire, and more.

Of all the new celebrity couples that have materialized in 2025, I think the likely consensus is that Monica Barbaro and Andrew Garfield is one of the cutest. And if you’re a fan of the pair like I am, you’ll be happy to know that the two just arrived in Italy for the Venice Film Festival. I suppose we’ll soon find out if they hit the red carpet together, but in the meantime, photos were just snapped of the couple walking the streets of The Floating City.
The couple opted for casually elegant outfits for the late summer night, with Garfield wearing a button-down and trousers with sneakers, and Barbaro wearing an outfit that included an item very similar to one I’ve been contemplating ordering from Banana Republic’s brand new fall collection (which is really, really good). The item is a dark green leather bomber jacket, which Barbaro paired with black baggy trousers and ballet flats. Once you see the outfit, I think you’ll agree that her choice to trade a black bomber jacket for a green one was a very good one, as it stands out far more than the former would. I, for one, did a double-take and am even more convinced that I need to hit the place order button in my Banana Republic cart. It’s also worth noting that $600 is quite good for a leather jacket as elevated and luxurious as the one I’m eyeing, as most comparable ones are well above $1k.

The latest example of what I’m talking about came this week in NYC, as Kravitz continues to promote her new film Caught Stealing. And instead of a white tee or tank (the obvious choices), she opted to pair the sleek skirt with a baseball tee—also known as a raglan tee. If I’m being honest, I don’t know if I’ve ever owned one of these contrast-3/4-sleeve tees in my adult life. But given that all things sporty and retro are once again cool (think windbreakers and athletic shorts), I can’t say that I’m surprised. And fashion people love to pair pieces together of opposing aesthetics, just as Kravitz did. In this case, it worked beautifully.

Of course, the trend for all-black this summer has found a fan in Lady Gaga. The musician is back in New York for her sold-out set of Mayhem Ball shows at Madison Square Gardens, and returned to a favorite celebrity haunt, Corner Store, for dinner with her fiancé Michael Polansky. Gaga wore a cropped Balenciaga blazer with boxy, structured shoulders and a raw hem, wwhich she wore over a clingy Norma Kamali black catsuit.
She accessorized with the towering Balenciaga “Camden” boots with a sleek, angular platform, as well as a pair of goggle-like sunglasses from Port Tanger, and a mini Kelly bag by Hermès.

The off-duty but elevated look is in keeping with Lady Gaga’s current style lexicon, a longtime lover of Balenciaga’s raw tailoring and sculptural boots. (Of recent, she’s also been spotted with another accessory-du-jour, the Lababu, as a charm on her bag). Onstage, too, the final act of the Mayhem Ball sees Gaga lean into the more gothic elements of her style. She’s pulled latex pieces by Japanese-born, London-based designer Atsuko Kudo, and looked to British designer Gareth Pugh for archival leather biker jackets, a custom Tom Knight “Born This Way” jacket, and a custom State Fair patchwork leather waistcoat emblazoned with Mayhem details. (Shout out to La Maison Gaga for doing the work for the little monsters).
Gaga was also wearing her engagement ring. Designed by Sofia Jewelry, the ring features an oval-cut stone set on an 18-karat rose and white gold diamond pavé band, with pink ombré diamonds and a hidden white diamond halo.
With a slew of NYC dates, expect more shots of Gaga in all her gothy leathers and latex out and about, on and offstage—after all, it’s a Mother Monster summer.
