‘Celebrity Traitors’ Renewed for Season 2 at the BBC

by jummy84 November 10, 2025
written by jummy84

It’s official: a handful of Britain’s celebrities will return to the Scottish Highlands in 2026 for a second season of The Celebrity Traitors.

The hugely popular reality show — now an international success after installments in various territories, including in the U.S., Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Greece and India — is set to return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer next year, with Claudia Winkleman playing host.

The first season of the U.K.’s Celebrity Traitors, which wrapped Thursday with a jaw-dropping finale that saw comedian-turned-traitor Alan Carr swoop in and nab the entire prize fund for his chosen charity, has become the biggest unscripted series in the U.K. since 2021. The debut episode of the show is now the biggest unscripted title on TV so far this year with 14.8 million views over 28 days in Britain.

The finale also broke records, according to the BBC, averaging 11.1 million viewers with a peak of 12 million, making it the biggest overnight audience in the market since the BBC’s own record-breaking Gavin & Stacey viewing on Dec. 25 last year, and biggest overnight share (81 percent) since the European Championships of soccer. The final episode had 1.9 million live requests on BBC iPlayer, which makes it the highest live-viewing number for any entertainment episode of all time on iPlayer.

Among some of the more high-profile names on the first season were actor-presenter Stephen Fry, Bridget Jones star Celia Imrie, singer-songwriter Paloma Faith, Olympian Tom Daley, chat show host Jonathan Ross and Ted Lasso‘s Nick Mohammed.

Along with series two of The Celebrity Traitors, podcast agency Platform Media will produce new episodes of companion show The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, available via BBC Sounds, BBC Two and iPlayer, the BBC said.

The announcement of series two coincides with the publication of a new report that reveals the entire Traitors franchise has generated an estimated 21.8 million pound boost for Scotland’s economy since 2022.

Head of entertainment at the BBC Kalpna Patel-Knight said: “Studio Lambert have done an outstanding job as The Celebrity Traitors has well and truly captivated the nation, becoming a bona fide highlight of the year bringing record numbers of people together to enjoy every twist and turn.”

“In 2026 the doors of the castle will be opened again to welcome celebrity players to the game to see who can charm, who can scheme and ultimately who can survive in series two, which promises to be just as unmissable as the first,” she added.

Celebrity Traitors winner Alan Carr’s beloved comedy air date confirmed

If you’re missing Alan Carr after his astonishing run on Celebrity Traitors, don’t despair: the comedian’s hit ITV sitcom is returning to screens later this month for its third season.

Changing Ends is a semi-autobiographical coming-of-age series, which sees Carr dramatise his childhood, growing up as the son of a football manager and not quite understanding what made him different to the other boys at his school.

Child actor Oliver Savell plays a young Alan Carr, while the comedian himself features as a narrator, appearing on-screen to offer context and reflections on the show’s storylines.

Changing Ends has earned a generally positive reception from critics and viewers alike, becoming ITVX’s most-viewed comedy in 2023, with Savell subsequently earning a BAFTA nomination for his uncanny turn as Carr.

The next chapter in the sitcom is available to stream from the morning of Sunday 23rd November 2025 on ITVX, with a linear broadcast to follow at 10:05pm that night on ITV1 – just after I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.

It’s an enviable lead-in for the series, which ITV will be hoping receives a Celebrity Traitors bump after Carr emerged as the breakout star of the recent season, with many viewers declaring him a “national treasure” for his masterful hoodwinking.

Carr himself acknowledged on Celebrity Traitors Uncloaked that the reaction to his participation has been more intense than his earlier television work, with industry pundits predicting high-profile follow-up gigs in the comic’s future.

For now, though, it’s a return to the comfortingly familiar ground of Changing Ends. The synopsis for season 3, courtesy of ITV teases a crush for the teenaged Carr on a new character named Jake.

Oliver Savell, Shaun Dooley and Colin Salmon star in Changing Ends season 3 ITV / Babycow Productions

It asks: “Does love struck Alan suppress this crush or shout about it from the rooftops?”

“Whatever happens, it’s going to be tough as Alan has the thankless task of navigating the adolescent minefields that are sleepovers, swimming lessons and nights out with the boys – and the girls.

“But it’s not all doom and gloom as some unexpected allies give Alan a much-needed glimpse of a hopeful future and they’re not a million miles away from his own doorstep.”

Changing Ends seasons 1-2 are available on ITVX. Season 3 premieres on ITV1 at 10:05pm on Sunday 23rd November 2025.

The Celebrity Traitors final review: Treachery and tears make for TV perfection

by jummy84 November 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Warning: this article contains spoilers for the final of The Celebrity Traitors. Add it to your watchlist.

Finally, we have a winner, and it’s watch-in-real-time, unstreamed, un-binged TV. It’s a rare and beautiful thing in 2025 to sit staring at the screen, knowing millions around the country are sitting on similar edges of seats, waiting to find out which of the five remaining players will emerge triumphant of The Celebrity Traitors.

And what did we get? With only five left from the original 19 who entered the castle — two Traitors, three Faithful — it was all about alliances. Joe and Nick were in such cahoots working out how to oust the others, I spent the first hour wishing one of them had turned out to be a Traitor. Instead, the second best moment of the night came another way, with Nick ultimately joining the others in banishing Joe – could you hear your neighbours shouting at the screen?!

That was the warm-up for the best, biggest twist of all, when Alan Carr came through as the final, solitary traitor left standing, telling the others, almost sadly, “I am, and have always been, a Traitor.” Nick collapsed, David sighed, Alan cried and the sweet Faithful pair ended up comforting him in his moment of guilty triumph. It was perfect, must-watch TV.

BBC

Following another effortlessly successful daytime mission that proved the celebs to be far better at physical challenges than they have ever been at unearthing Traitors, it was all about the penultimate Round Table. You know a show has fulfilled its promise of surprising us when one of the country’s premier historians is reduced to role of “useful idiot”, but that’s where David Olusoga found himself – stuck in the middle as Faithful Joe and Nick battled to outwit Alan and Cat.

All that classical training and scholarship served Olusoga not – ultimately, he just didn’t have the skills, or possibly stomach, to either betray or sniff out the treachery around him, which doesn’t really reflect that badly on him, I suppose. Instead, Joe’s strength of purpose saw Cat disposed of, but that same zeal proved his undoing at the very last Round Table, as Alan used all his powers of persuasion to unsettle others’ doubts in the big man, and clear his way to victory.

So now, after five weeks and nine episodes, the ravens have left the castle, the drawbridge has been pulled up, the last of the faithful banished and the traitors unearthed. There have been some prize moments along the way: Celia Imrie’s wind proving she has a pro’s comedic timing in all things; Claire Balding’s disastrous attempt to participate in not commentate on a sporting challenge; the unprecedented nation-stopping Round Table stalemate between David and Mark Bonnar. All will be remembered, but none so powerfully as the two moments that bookended the series — both starring Alan.

The first came when the third Traitor was initially unearthed, and even his fellow conspirators laughed out loud; the second when he was finally revealed to the Faithful, a moment set to become a nation-sweeping meme. The Chatty Man’s presence as a giggling assassin in plain sight set the tone for the whole series, and Alan’s charm could explain why the faithful were jaw-droopingly inept in unearthing the Traitors in their midst, and also why they were so quick to forgive him for his treachery. There he stood — emotional, funny, no longer deadly – in a fitting end to a series that has confounded any fears a celebrity version would dilute the simple human premise — betray or be betrayed — at the heart of it. What will we all do now?

Claudia Winkleman explains her Celebrity Traitors picks: “How could you not?”

by jummy84 October 8, 2025
written by jummy84

After much build-up, including the celebrity contestants digging up their own graves to win shields and taking part in the first challenge of the series, it was time for the famous faces to plead their case as to whether they should be a Faithful or a Traitor.

As she walked round and round and round the table, Winkleman chose Alan Carr, Cat Burns and Jonathan Ross to be her Traitors, before they all met in the turret and were given their first task.

But just how did Winkleman choose her Traitors? While the decision isn’t solely down to the host, it was a no-brainer for some of the picks.

Alan Carr. BBC/Studio Lambert/Euan Cherry

“I do those chats with them and they’re much longer than you see,” Winkleman told RadioTimes.com and other press.

“Then I go into a room with the bosses from the BBC, the brilliant casting group, and we sort of work [it] out together. We don’t have long, but Alan said he wanted to be a Traitor, and they were compelling. So how could you not?”

As revealed in the episode, the Traitors must murder in plain sight, all without being detected by the Faithful.

The onus was put on Alan Carr, who was instructed to touch someone’s face with pollen from a poisoned flower, all without arousing suspicion from the other contestants.

The episode ended on a cliffhanger, meaning viewers will have to wait until tomorrow (9th October) to find out who will be the first contestant to leave the daring competition.

Read more:

Viewers will also see if Alan Carr was the right pick, as his nerves certainly got the best of him throughout the day after being chosen as a Traitor – a fate he didn’t even know he wanted.

Prior the series launch, Carr said: “Well people have asked, would you like to be a Traitor? And the answer is, I don’t know. I’m fascinated to know how I would cope with it if I was.

“I’m not known for my poker face, but you’ve just got to adapt. I’m indecisive, and that’s the problem. But I think that’s probably good because I’d say it’s best to have an open mind.

“If I’m a Traitor, I’ll try to murder as many people as possible. If I’m a Faithful, I’ll try and catch those Traitors. Whichever side, I think you can’t help but get sucked in. It becomes your world and that’s the part that I’m quite looking forward to, the routine of it and just being fully immersed in it.”

Celebrity Traitors begins on Wednesday 8th October at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.

Cat Burns is a singer-songwriter who rose to prominence upon the release of her single Go in 2020. The song became increasingly popular in 2022 thanks to TikTok, and saw it reach number two on the UK singles chart.

Her other hits include Home for My Heart, Ghosting and People Pleaser. A three time Brit nominee, Cat cites Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin and Marvin Sapp as some of her major influences.

EXCLUSIVE: Content Creator Vishnu Kaushal Reveals If He’ll Ever Participate In Reality Shows Like Bigg Boss, Traitors

by jummy84 October 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Vishnu Kaushal is a well known content creator, actor, and storyteller known for his witty, relatable, and heartwarming social media content that resonates with both his Gen Z and millennial audience. Kuashal – who began his career with short sketches and relatable reels, has now grown into one of the most versatile voices in India’s digital creator ecosystem.

During an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Vishnu Kaushal opened up about many things, including why he choose to become a content creator and whether he’ll ever participate in reality shows like Bigg Boss, Traitors and Rise And Fall. Read on to know all his answers.

Vishnu Kaushal On Becoming A Content Creator

When asked why he decided to become a content creator instead of doing a 9-to-5 office job like many millennials, Vishnu Kaushal replied, “Choosing content creation over a traditional 9-to-5 wasn’t a decision I took lightly. It was more about the freedom to express myself and connect with an audience that resonates with my ideas. Early on, I realized the power of reliability — it’s not just about what you create, but how authentically you present it. People today seek genuine connections. Content creation allows me to do that in a way traditional job didn’t.”

Talking about how difficult it for him to find his footing in the content creation space and begin earning through the videos he created, Vishnu shared, “It wasn’t easy at all. When I first started, I was experimenting with different forms of content, trying to understand what worked and what didn’t. It took time to develop my unique style, but once I found my groove, things started to come together.”

He added, “There was a lot of trial and error, but the key was staying true to my voice. Earning from content creation was a slow and organic process. The real breakthrough came when I realized that authenticity, consistency, and understanding my audience’s needs were the pillars of success.”

Vishnu Kaushal On Doing Reality Shows Like Bigg Boss, Traitors

Over the last several years, we’ve seen many content creators venture into the reality show space with shows like Bigg Boss, Traitors and Rise And Fall. When asked if he would like to be part of such shows if an opportunity comes, Vishnu Kaushal answered, “I’ve always believed that stepping outside your comfort zone is essential for personal growth. Reality shows like Bigg Boss or Traitors have certainly become platforms where content creators can showcase different aspects of their personalities. They provide a unique opportunity to connect with a much broader audience and present an unfiltered version of oneself. So, to answer your question—I would be open to participating in a reality show if the opportunity felt right.”

He continued, “For me, the key is maintaining my authenticity. I’ve built my brand on being relatable and real with my audience, and that’s something I wouldn’t want to compromise on a reality show. I wouldn’t be interested in participating just for the sake of fame; it would have to be an experience that allows me to express my true self, without trying to fit into a narrative that doesn’t align with who I am.”

Vishnu continued, “On the flip side, I understand how intense these shows can be. They’re a huge commitment, both mentally and emotionally, and not every show might suit my style or values. If the show gives me the opportunity to showcase my true personality, have meaningful interactions, and also engage with my audience in a way that aligns with my brand, then I’d definitely be open to it. But if I felt like it would conflict with my values or the image I’ve worked hard to build, I’d respectfully pass.”

EXCLUSIVE: Traitors’ Fame Sufi Motiwala Comments On People Claiming Reality Shows Are ScriptedEXCLUSIVE: Traitors’ Fame Sufi Motiwala Comments On People Claiming Reality Shows Are Scripted; States, “Koi Aake Yeh Nahi Bolta Gaali Do”

Sufi Motiwala’s journey took a bold step forward with his appearance in the debut show Traitors, where he showcased his dynamic personality and creative flair. Since then, he has continued to build his voice as a critic and creator in the fashion space. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Sufi opened up about why he signed ‘Traitors’ and shared with us something that nobody knows about reality shows.

Talking about why he signed a reality show, Sufi said, “When you sign a reality show, you have to do it with the awareness that the whole point is for people to talk about you. That’s why I find it very duplicitous when people sign projects, go through with them, and then later behave like victims — blaming it on the edit and whatnot. I think that’s just bogus.”

He continued, “The reason I signed a reality show was because I wanted people to watch me, talk about me, follow me, and get in tune with my journey. Otherwise, why the hell would you even sign it? That’s just part of the process, and you have to live it. The key to a reality show is to live it — the friendships you make, the enemies you make, everything. You just have to see it through, and eventually, it all fades away. Honestly, I don’t think people even remember anything in the long run.”

When asked about what is the one thing that people don’t know about reality shows, Sufi replied, “On reality shows, people always keep claiming “scripted, scripted, scripted,” just because the show follows a certain plotline. But here’s the thing, most captivating reality shows cannot be scripted, because they are controlled. There’s a difference between being scripted and being controlled. “

He went on to explain further by saying, “Controlled meaning ki uss ghar mein voh aise situations create karte karte hai, aise haalat create karte hai, aise statements bulwaate hai jisse bhasad mache ya reaction mile ya plot aage badhe. but whatever people are doing, they’re doing out of their own volition, their own thinking, their own zubaan, that’s all them. “

Sufi ends it by saying, “Koi aake yeh nahi bol raha ki isko gaali do, show pe sab jo bhi kar rhe hai khudh hi se kar rhe hai, bas situations production create kar raha hai”

Sufi Motiwala BREAKS SILENCE On Friendship With Apoorva Mukhija Post Traitors| Bollywood Bubble

Sufi Motiwala is a sharp fashion critique whose eye for detail and unique perspective sets him apart in the industry. From decoding trends to spotlighting bold style choices, he blends expertise with creativity to shape fresh conversations around fashion and is now also explored the world of acting with the reality show debut Traitors. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Sufi Motiwala reacted to his friendship with Apoorva Makhija and the controversies that have taken place post the show.

Sufi Motiwala BREAKS SILENCE On Friendship With Apoorva Mukhija

When asked if friendships and animosity from the show are carried forward after the show, Sufi said, “Honestly, I think the thing is it doesn’t really stay in real life, because when the show comes out it just refreshes all your wounds and you feel triggered again. I remember when we shot Traitors, we filmed it a year in advance, and then it came out a year later. That entire year we were all feeling a certain type of way, and then when the show finally released, everybody was edited differently. “

He further added, “Some parts people were happy about, some they weren’t, and the social narrative was pretty strong for everything. But that’s just how it is, and you can’t escape that. You just have to work on your mental health and take it as it comes.”

Talking about public controversy that was blown out of proportion, Sufi reacted, “With reality fellow contestants, if they want to start something on the internet, no matter what you do, you can’t stop it. I’ve tried — I’ve apologized behind the scenes, I’ve said let’s not create a public controversy, let’s not have beef — but people who want to do it publicly will always do it publicly. So you just have to spot the real people from the fake ones and move on in life.”
