This family-reunion-turns-into-mayhem family comedy is ready for release in early November to get everyone in the mood for the Christmas season. “This movie and this cast is so special and will be the holiday movie everyone will be talking about.” A family’s perfect Christmas is upended when old rivalries, secrets, and romantic mix-ups come to a head. This holiday, expect the unexpected. Momma Scott’s perfect family reunion falls apart, romantic mix-ups, old rivalries, and plenty of family secrets will at least make it an unforgettable Christmas together. The ensemble cast includes Milton “Lil Rel” Howery, with Tabitha Brown, Anna Maria Horsford, Reagan Gomez, DomiNque Perry, Terrence Terrell, Trell Woodberry, Ricco Ross, Koryn Hawthorne, Cecelia Friday, and Howie Bell. “Unexpected Christmas is relatable, and hilarious, but will truly be a gift for all families this holiday season.” Peek below.

Here’s the official trailer for Michael Vaughn Hernandez’s comedy Unexpected Christmas, via YouTube:

Unexpected Christmas Poster

When the Scott family gathers for Christmas, the perfect dream reunion that Momma Scott (Anna Maria Horsford) planned quickly turns upside down. Her daughter Marissa (DomiNque Perry) returns fresh off a breakup with her boyfriend Richard (Lil Rel Howery) and is shocked when Richard arrives arm in arm with her estranged stepsister Kerry (Reagan Gomez). Marissa tries to play it cool and invites a surprise guest of her own who has everyone talking, while Kerry is cooking up a scheme that could ruin the whole celebration. Add in a few romantic mix-ups, old rivalries, and plenty of family secrets, and everyone is in for an unforgettable holiday. With love, laughter, and a bit of chaos ’round every corner, this Christmas might bring the Scotts closer together—or blow the roof off the house! Unexpected Christmas is directed by American filmmaker Michael Vaughn Hernandez, making his first feature film after many short films and the TV series “For the Love of Jason” and “Honest T” recently. The screenplay is written by Cassandra Mann. Produced by Trell Woodberry, Phil Thornton, Perrí Camper. 3 Diamonds Films & Eammon Films will debut Unexpected Christmas in theaters starting on November 7th, 2025 this fall. Who wants to watch?

“I thought – we should start from square one. It’s a puzzle I had to unravel.” Prime Video has revealed the first look teaser trailer for Paul McCartney: Man on the Run, yet another new Beatles documentary – though this isn’t really about them, it’s about what happened after The Beatles. Man on the Run is a film by acclaimed, Oscar-winning doc director Morgan Neville (of 20 Feet from Stardom, Best of Enemies, Keith Richards: Under the Influence, Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead). Currently set for release in February 2026, after first premiering at the 2025 Telluride Film Festival this fall. After The Beatles break up (in 1970), Paul McCartney forms new band called Wings with his wife Linda. Archival home footage shows Paul’s life with Linda, who influenced his music, as well as his experiences after The Beatles fame. The doc film follows Wings from formation through 1970s during which Paul wrote hit songs. The description says the film “captures Paul’s transformative post-Beatles era through a uniquely vulnerable lens.” Which sounds like we get to learn about a whole other side of him that we haven’t seen before. Enjoy.

Through unprecedented access to previously unseen footage & rare archival materials, the doc captures McCartney’s transformative post-Beatles era through a uniquely vulnerable lens. Paul McCartney: Man on the Run is directed by acclaimed American filmmaker Morgan Neville, director of many great doc films Troubadours, 20 Feet from Stardom, Best of Enemies: Buckley vs. Vidal, Keith Richards: Under the Influence, Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead, Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain, Bono & The Edge, and The Saint of Second Chances previously, plus the recent STEVE! “You can’t erase history, can you?” Tull Stories has revealed the official UK trailer for a documentary film titled Still Pushing Pineapples, a fun road trip documentary from UK filmmaker Kim Hopkins. Set for release in the UK starting in November, the film is a follow-up to Hopkins’ 2022 doc film called A Bunch of Amateurs which was about one of the oldest amateur filmmaking clubs in the world. In this one, she follows the former pop star Dene Michael as he clings to the remnants of fame he once had as a member of 1980s novelty pop group Black Lace. Entertainment, working-class culture, human connection, and the power of pop align in this idiosyncratic, moving, funny and unmistakably British road movie that follows an aging pop star, his spirited 89-year-old mother, and his feisty girlfriend as they navigate love, family duty, and the relentless pursuit of one last chart success. The band’s universally known hit Agadoo – both beloved and hated by many, and the high or low point of any party – is what Dene’s best known for. Even still today. But does anyone care anymore? This looks more melancholic than entertaining but still might be a good watch.

Here’s the official UK trailer (+ poster) for Kim Hopkins’ doc Still Pushing Pineapples, from YouTube:

Still Pushing Pineapples Doc Trailer

Still Pushing Pineapples Doc Poster

What happens when you’ve created the worst hit song ever – at least according to the music press? What comes after fleeting fame, and what does it mean to grow old still chasing a dream? Kim Hopkins’ moving & funny follow up to her documentary A Bunch of Amateurs features former pop star Dene Michael as he clings to the remnants of fame he once had as a member of 1980s novelty pop group Black Lace. Still Pushing Pineapples follows Dene, his spirited 89-year-old mum Anne, and also his sassy girlfriend Hayley across Britain and the Costa del Sol in this unmistakably British road movie. En route they navigate love, family duty, and the relentless pursuit of one last chart success. But who needs an ’80s throwback in a loud pineapple shirt and oversized red specs, singing a tired earworm? Apparently, many do (doo doo). 🍍

Still Pushing Pineapples is a documentary film directed by British doc filmmaker Kim Hopkins, director of the other doc films Wanted, Folie à Deux: Madness Made of Two, Voices of the Sea, Cuban Dreams, and A Bunch of Amateurs previously. Produced by Margaréta Szabó. The film will premiere at Bradford’s 2025 UK City of Culture event next month. Tull Stories will debut Hopkins’ Still Pushing Pineapples doc in UK cinemas starting November 28th, 2025 this fall. No US release is set yet – stay tuned. Anyone interested?

“You fools who live without meaning: kill each other, until just one remains.” Netflix has revealed their full official trailer for their awesome new Japanese action series called Last Samurai Standing, which is not a game show despite the title sounding like it might be. Based on the manga of the same name, it’s about a battle between nearly 300 samurai warriors in Kyoto back in the late 19th century. “One life, one point.” Shujiro enters a deadly game where points are earned for each kill. Who will be the last samurai standing in this sinister scheme? During the Meiji period, 292 warriors, including Shujiro Saga, gather at the Tenryuji Temple in Kyoto at nightfall, lured by the promise of a huge cash prize. Each given a wooden tag, they join a vicious game in which they must steal the tags of their fellow participants and reach Tokyo to win the prize money. Under the veil of night, the temple grounds are filled with unease and the presence of bloodthirsy warriors. When the signal is given to begin the game, the combatants launch into their relentless battle for survival. Let them fight! Starring Junichi Okada, Yumia Fujisaki, Kaya Kiyohara, Hiroshi Tamaki, Hideaki Itō, Gaku Hamada, Hiroshi Abe. This looks as badass as Netflix’s Blue Eye Samurai and as entertaining as the recent Shogun series. Stylish and action-packed! I’ll definitely be watching when it’s out.

Each given a wooden tag, they join a vicious game in which they must steal the tags of their fellow participants and reach Tokyo to win the prize money. “People are always looking for happiness in all the wrong places… Family is happiness.” Indeed. Netflix has unveiled an official trailer for a film titled simply Mango, a story about a mango farmer in Spain. This film is a Danish production, about a Danish woman, who goes to Spain, starring an Iraqi-Danish actor who’s playing a Danish man running this farm in Spain. Lærke, an ambitious hotel manager, is sent to Málaga (see Google Maps) to develop a hotel on Alex’s mango farm. Lærke’s daughter joins, expecting a rare holiday with her mother. Unexpected feelings arise between Lærke and Alex, forcing them both to make life-altering choices on what to do next. A romance story set in Spain about two people growing feelings for each other. Both mother and daughter “find what they’ve been craving in a farmer’s idyllic mango orchard.” Oooh la la. Starring Dar Salim as Alex & Josephine Park as Lærke, Josephine Chavarria Højbjerg as daughter Agnes, and Sara Jiménez as Paula. Most of all I just want to try some of this gorgeous-looking mango he’s growing. And that mangonade. She better stay with him on this farm and grow mangoes! Take a look below.

Here’s the main official trailer for Mehdi Avaz’s Malaga romance film Mango, from Netflix’s YouTube:

Mango Film Trailer

The ambitious hotel manager, Lærke (Josephine Park), seizes a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity when her boss sends her to Malaga, Spain, to develop a grand new hotel in the middle of a mango farm. The farm belongs to Alex, a former lawyer, who refuses to sell due to a tragic past he can’t let go of. Lærke brings along her daughter, Agnes, who expects rare holiday time with her busy mother — or so she believes. As unexpected feelings start to bloom between Lærke & Alex, both are forced to make choices that will impact their careers, family ties, and ultimately, their hearts. Mango is directed by the Danish-Iranian filmmaker Mehdi Avaz, director of the movies While We Live, Collision, Toscana, A Beautiful Life, plus Børnene fra Sølvgade 1 & 2 previously. The screenplay is written by fellow filmmaker Milad Schwartz Avaz. Produced by Anna Malmkjær Willumsen. This hasn’t premiered at any festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. Netflix debuts Avaz’s Mango film streaming on Netflix starting November 7th, 2025 this fall. Want to watch it?

The Girlfriend Trailer: Rashmika Mandanna Questions Her Relationship With Dheekshith Shetty – What’s Going On? | Glamsham.com

written by jummy84

Following her serious role in the vampire suspense thriller Thamma, Rashmika Mandanna is turning to a world of love, emotional depth, and self-discovery in her next movie, The Girlfriend. The Saturday release of the trailer suggests a complicated love story in which Rashmika’s character is torn by a haunting question: is she indeed deeply in love with her boyfriend, or only in love with the concept of him? Directed by Rahul Ravindran, the movie features Rashmika in the starring role alongside Dheekshith Shetty.

The trailer begins with Bhooma, played by Rashmika, hesitantly proposing a “small break” to her boyfriend Vikram, played by Dheekshith, making it clear that she means an actual break and not a halt. The romantic origin of the couple is then portrayed in the story, with Vikram asking Bhooma to marry him, convincing her that she is the ideal partner for him. While the couple enjoy playful and flirtatious moments, such as banter like “you kissed last night,” their tone progressively becomes tension and doubt.

The audience is shown the dynamics of their relationship through arguments, family pressures, and emotional struggles, as Bhooma starts questioning not just her feelings but also what it means to be a “girlfriend.” The trailer guarantees a combination of romance, drama, and self-awareness, highlighting Rashmika’s versatility in playing lighthearted as well as emotionally charged scenes.

The Girlfriend is directed and written by Rahul Ravindran, bankrolled by Dheeraj Mogilineni and Vidya Koppineedi, scored by music director Hesham Abdul Wahab and cinematographed by Krishnan Vasant. The teaser released last year had Vijay Deverakonda’s voiceover, admiring the charm of the heroine as Rashmika’s character walks into college with her bag. The entire movie is coming to theaters on November 7, 2025, and is sure to investigate love, uncertainty, and emotional complexity in present relationships through Rashmika’s powerful performance.

“Let me guess – you’re an innocent man?” “Damn right, I am.” Cineverse has debuted an official trailer for a western film titled Cottonmouth, a gritty revenge thriller set back in 1895 in Oklahoma. This film is sort of a western re-imaging of the classic The Count of Monte Cristo story from Dumas, inspired by it, but also with its own clever twists in a classic western setting. In 1895 Oklahoma, love and loyalty turn deadly when a groom-to-be is betrayed, imprisoned, and reborn as an outlaw bent on revenge. When Ed Dantes is framed and condemned to the tortures of a territorial prison in 1895, he must learn the ways of the outlaw to escape and exact his revenge on Billy Dunn. Directed by Brock Harris, this rugged frontier saga of passion, power, and payback reminds us that every bullet carries the weight of a broken heart. Starring Martin Sensmeier as Ed, Alyssa Wapanatâhk as Sophia, Jonathan Sadowski, Eric Nelsen, Jonathan Lipnicki, with Ron Perlman and Esai Morales. Have to say – this looks way better than it should! Perhaps reusing this story and spinning it as as western was a good idea. Out on VOD in November – if anyone wants to catch it.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Brock Harris’ western film Cottonmouth, direct from YouTube:

“Love turns to blood. Justice turns to revenge.” Set in Indian territory, back in 1895. Ed Dantes (Martin Sensmeier) rides to the town of Ingalls, Oklahoma on the eve of his wedding. Ed brings his saddle chum Frank (Jonathan Sadowski) to witness the ceremony but they will soon become enemies when a rivalry develops over Ed’s fiancé, saloon singer Sophia. To make matters worse, the saloon is neighbored by the Dunn Inn, owned by Billy Dunn (Eric Nelsen). Dunn has his eyes set on Sophia and her mother’s saloon, too. Ed must learn the ways of the outlaw to enact his revenge. Cottonmouth is directed by American writer / filmmaker Brock Harris, director of the films Wild Game and Dance Dads previously, plus a few other short films. The screenplay is written by Jared Bonner and Brock Harris. Produced by Talia Bella and Randy Wayne. This initially premiered at the 2025 Mammoth Film Festival earlier this year. Cineverse will debut Harris’ Cottonmouth film direct-to-VOD starting November 4th, 2025 this fall. Anyone want to watch?

“Doesn’t matter how much many you make, it’s never enough.” “I’ll know when I have enough…” Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the first official trailer for a California crime thriller called Crime 101, another strangely basic titled for a film that looks more complex than it sounds. It’s set for a theatrical release in February 2026 on account of this excellent cast. The film is centered on detective Lou Lubesnick, played by Ruffalo, tracking a complex jewel thief who is adhering to the “Crime 101” rules – a strict set of guidelines for the perfect heist without ever being caught. The 101 is also a reference to the location along the iconic 101 freeway – California’s Pacific Coast Highway. Based on Don Winslow’s short story of the same name. As the big multimillion-dollar heist approaches, the line between hunter and hunted begins to blur, and all of the players are forced to confront the cost of their choices – and the realization that there’s no turning back. The fabulous full cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo as the detective, Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, with Nick Nolte and Halle Berry. This looks like it might actually be an intriguing, exciting thriller with some clever twists & turns. Will they finally catch him?

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Bart Layton’s film Crime 101, direct from MGM’s YouTube:

Crime 101 Movie Trailer

Crime 101 Movie Poster

Set against the sun-bleached grit of Los Angeles, Crime 101 weaves the tale of an elusive thief (Chris Hemsworth) whose high-stakes heists unfolding along the iconic 101 freeway have mystified police. When he eyes the score of a lifetime with hopes of this being his final job, his path collides with a disillusioned insurance broker (Halle Berry) who is facing her own crossroads, forcing them to collaborate. Determined to crack the case, a relentless detective (Mark Ruffalo) closes in on the operation, raising the stakes even higher. As the multimillion-dollar heist approaches, the line between hunter and hunted begins to blur, and all three are forced to confront the cost of their choices–and the realization that there’s no turning back. Crime 101 is written and directed by British producer / writer / filmmaker Bart Layton, director of the films The Imposter and American Animals previously, plus a few other TV movies. Adapted from Don Winslow’s acclaimed novella of the same name. Produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Derrin Schlesinger, Dimitri Doganis, Bart Layton, Shane Salerno, Chris Hemsworth, Benjamin Grayson. Amazon MGM Studios debuts Crime 101 in theaters nationwide starting on February 13th, 2026 early next year. Look any good?

Netflix Doc ‘The New Yorker at 100’ – An Inside Look Official Trailer

by Alex Billington

“It’s only 100 years old? Look what it’s done.” Netflix has debuted their official trailer for a documentary film titled The New Yorker at 100, made by Oscar winning filmmaker Marshall Curry. It first premiered at the 2025 Telluride Film Festival and it’s also screening at the Denver Film Festival before debuting for streaming on Netflix in December. Along with The New Yorker Festival in NYC this weekend, of course. For the first time in its extensive history, The New Yorker opens up its offices to filmmaker Marshall Curry, allowing unprecedented access to its newsroom at a pivotal moment for all media – a rare look at what it takes to publish a century of intrepid journalism, generation-defining fiction, and unforgettable cartoons. “I’m fascinated by people with obsessions.” New Yorker at 100 follows all the editors, writers, fact-checkers, photographers, cover artists, and others who bring The New Yorker to life, providing a rare glimpse into the inner workings of one of the great print magazines of our time. This is executive produced by Judd Apatow, and features narration by Julianne Moore, stepping inside the offices in 2024 as they prepare their 100th anniversary issue. Looks like a very fascinating doc in so many different ways about publishing and beyond.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Marshall Curry’s doc The New Yorker at 100, from YouTube:

“The New Yorker is full of people who are obsessed with what they do, whether it’s exposing a government scandal or profiling an obscure musician or policing the use of commas. I wanted to introduce audiences to these obsessives — partly because I found them interesting and funny and insightful, and partly because I think what they do is really important. It’s a tough time for fact-based journalism, and I wanted audiences to understand and celebrate the important work that’s under threat. I knew we wouldn’t be able to capture every aspect of The New Yorker in one film, but I was excited to introduce people — give them a tasting menu — to this long-standing institution and to the vital significance of journalism in general.” –Director Marhsall Curry

The New Yorker at 100 Doc Trailer

The New Yorker at 100 Poster

It’s the fall of 2024, and editor David Remnick and his team at The New Yorker are preparing to face one of their most important deadlines yet: their seminal 100th anniversary issue due on newsstands in just a few months. Meanwhile, journalism is facing unprecedented challenges from every direction. In a new film narrated by Julianne Moore, The New Yorker at 100 gives viewers a rare glimpse inside the century-old machine, showing how the words and images printed on its pages have shaped politics and culture, from changing how we think about nuclear war to introducing the world to the Addams family. Using archival materials alongside interviews with heavy-hitting contributors like Hilton Als, Roz Chast, and Ronan Farrow as well as notable fans of The New Yorker including Jesse Eisenberg, Ronny Chieng, and Molly Ringwald, among others, the film provides a rare glimpse into the legacy and current dynamics of one of America’s preeminent publications. The documentary film brings viewers inside its peerless fact-checking department, lively story meetings, and delightfully idiosyncratic cartoon selection process that showcases the journalistic integrity & intrepid creative spirit required to preserve a celebrated institution.

The New Yorker at 100 is a documentary directed by acclaimed, Oscar-winning doc filmmaker Marshall Curry, director of the films Street Fight, Racing Dreams, If a Tree Falls: Story of Earth Liberation Front, Point and Shoot, SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night, and the “P.O.V.” doc series previously. Produced by Xan Parker. Exec produced by Judd Apatow, Michael Bonfiglio, Josh Church, Amanda Rohlke, Helen Estabrook, Sarah Amos. This initially premiered at the 2025 Telluride Film Festival this year. Netflix will debut Curry’s The New Yorker at 100 film streaming on Netflix starting December 5th, 2025 this fall.
