“I must confess – I never considered what would come after creation.” The story of a monster & his unique creation. Netflix has revealed one final trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s new Frankenstein movie, his uniquely gothic and extra dark take on this classic story from author Mary Shelley. After premiering at the 2025 Venice & Telluride Film Festivals (read my review) it will be streaming on Netflix starting next week. This trailer finally gives us a much better look at his monster – as played by Jacob Elordi in one of the best performances of the year. Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro adapts the tale of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation. The phenomenal cast includes Oscar Isaac as Victor and Jacob Elordi as his “monster”, with Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, Charles Dance, Christian Convery, and Ralph Ineson. The movie has already been playing in theaters for a few weeks and will be playing on Netflix soon – hence why they’re giving it one big push with this final trailer. Catch on the big screen if you can, either way it’s worth a watch.

Here’s the final trailer (+ art poster) for Guillermo del Toro’s take on Frankenstein, direct from YouTube:

Frankenstein Official Poster

You can rewatch the official trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein movie right here and teaser here.

“In seeking life, I created death…” Inspired by the classic novel originally published in 1818. Set in Eastern Europe in the 19th Century, Dr. Pretorious (Christoph Waltz) has to track down Frankenstein’s Monster (Jacob Elordi)—believed to have died in a fire some 40 years before—in order to continue the macabre experiments of Dr. Victor Frankenstein (Oscar Isaac). “Only Monsters Play God.” Frankenstein is directed by visionary Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, director of the films Cronos, Mimic, The Devil’s Backbone, Blade II, Hellboy I & II, Pan’s Labyrinth, Crimson Peak, The Shape of Water, Nightmare Alley, and the animated Pinocchio previously, as well as lots of producing work plus other projects. The screenplay is also written by Guillermo del Toro, based on Mary Shelley’s iconic book “Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus.” Produced by Guillermo del Toro, Scott Stuber, J. Miles Dale. It premiered at the 2025 Venice & Telluride Film Festivals. Netflix releases del Toro’s Frankenstein in select US theaters first on October 17th, 2025, then streaming on Netflix starting November 7th this fall. How’s that look? Want to watch?

“Life goes on, though… I hope not in cycles – that could get tiresome.” Buffalo 8 has debuted the official trailer for an indie film titled Before We Begin, a romantic drama from young filmmaker Shazeb Fahim as his second feature film so far. This premiered last year at a small film festival and will be out to watch on VOD starting in November this fall. With her impending move to New York, a young artist must find the courage to match her ambition and pursue her desires as she finds an unexpected connection with a peculiar philosophy student. She must contend with evolving relationships as she decides whether to move to NYC or not at the end of the fall. Internet famous Colombian actress Yesly Dimate stars as Olivia, with director Shazeb Fahim co-starring as her love interest Phillip. The indie cast also includes Jamie Eddy, Monica Giordano, Paige Hapeman, and Andrew Fama. This looks nice and charming and especially low-key, a Gen Z love story that’s also all about figuring out what to do next in your life and wherever it might take you.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Shazeb Fahim’s film Before We Begin, direct from YouTube:

Before We Begin Romance Poster

Olivia (Yesly Dimate), a young artist living in Boston, questions her impending move to New York… At a dinner party, and also at a chance encounter the very next day, Olivia finds an original and unexpected connection with Phillip (Shazeb Fahim), a “peculiar” philosophy student. Over the course of the fall, as her move approaches, Olivia must contend with her evolving relationships, and find the courage to match her ambition and continue to pursue her desires. Before We Begin is written and directed by the young indie filmmaker Shazeb Fahim, directing his second feature film after making First Fall previously. Produced by Justin San Antonio and Shazeb Fahim. Featuring music composed by Grace-Mary Burega. This initially premiered at the 2024 Chelsea Film Festival last year. Buffalo 8 will debut Shazeb Fahim’s film Before We Begin direct-to-VOD in the US starting November 21st, 2025 this fall. Anyone want to watch this movie?

“You were the only one who could see the real me.” GKids has unveiled another new official US trailer for Little Amélie or the Character of Rain, also known as just Little Amélie, a beautiful animated film from France. This is the English dub version of the trailer (original here). From directors Maïlys Vallade and Liane-Cho Han, Amélie et la métaphysique des tubes (the original title) is the story of Amélie, a Belgian girl living in Japan, who adores nature and all the spectacular granduer of the outdoors. The story explores her young life with her companion Nishio-san, a caretaker for the family. Her third birthday becomes a turning point, marking the beginning of life-altering events that will shape her understanding of the world she exists in. The original French language voices are by Emmylou Homs, Loïse Charpentier, Laetitia Coryn, Yumi Fujimori, and Isaac Schoumsky. I’m a huge fan of this film (and quoted in this trailer). I first saw it at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and it really left me in awe – it really is stunningly beautiful. About a little girl growing up and appreciating the natural world and learning about all the beauty, even if humans can be rotten or mean. The funniest part is when she tries Belgian white chocolate and everything changes.

Little Amélie or the Character of Rain Trailer

Little Amélie or the Character of Rain Poster

You can rewatch the original language trailer for Little Amélie right here or the intial festival trailer here.

Follows the young Amélie – born in Japan to Belgian parents – as she navigates an extraordinary early childhood. For the first two-and-a-half years of her life, she exists in a state of pure sensation, detached from typical human experiences – metaphorically described as “a digestive tube, inert and vegetative”. But on her third birthday, a transformative event awakens her to the world. Over the next six months, she discovers language, family, a heavenly garden, Japan, water, the changing seasons and the passage of time. Drawing on the Japanese belief that children are considered divine until the age of three, the film explores how this brief period, filled with joy & sorrow, is a foundational element in shaping her identity.

Little Amélie or the Character of Rain, originally known as Amélie et la métaphysique des tubes in French, is co-directed by filmmakers Liane-Cho Han Jin Kuang (animator on The Illusionist, Long Way North, Ethel & Ernest, Calamity a Childhood of Martha Jane Cannary) & Mailys Vallade (of The Lighthouse Keeper short, artist on Calamity a Childhood of Martha Jane Cannary), making their feature directorial debut with this project. The screenplay is written by Liane-Cho Han Jin Kuang, Eddine Noël, Aude Py, and Mailys Vallade. Adapted from the book written by Amélie Nothomb. Produced by Claire La Combe, Edwina Liard, Henri Magalon, and Nidia Santiago. This first premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival earlier this year (read our review) and it’s next playing TIFF this month before release. GKids will debut Little Amélie or the Character of Rain in US theaters nationwide starting November 7th, 2025 late this fall. Beautiful?

Football Movie ‘Signing Tony Raymond’ Trailer Starring Michael Mosley

by Alex Billington

“Some of the best plays happen off the field.” Iconic Events & Southern Isles Pictures have debuted the first official trailer for a film titled Signing Tony Raymond, a football movie but this time about the coach’s recruiting job. This story reminds me of Brad Pitt’s Moneyball, about how to build a winning team finding the right people. A young college football coach (armed with a lucrative NIL offer) is sent to rural Alabama to sign the nation’s top high school defensive end and soon finds himself trying to outflank a frenzy of rival recruiters, fight off grifting townsfolk galore, and somehow also win over the player’s wildly dysfunctional family. Inspired by a true story. “Owen’s perspective brings a rare mix of insight and humor to the realities of college football today.” Starring Michael Mosley as Coach Walt McFadden, with Mira Sorvino & Rob Morgan, featuring football legends Marshawn Lynch, Brian Bosworth and Champ Bailey. This looks like a kooky comedy about the eccentricities of small town American more than a mainstream sports movie.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Glen Owen’s film Signing Tony Raymond, direct from YouTube:

Signing Tony Raymond Poster

Set in the Deep South, the film follows Coach Walt McFadden (Michael Mosley), a talented but idealistic assistant coach at Louisiana University who’s out of second chances. After failing to land a top recruit the previous year, Coach Walt is given one last shot at redemption: signing the nation’s number one defensive end, Tony Raymond — or losing his job. His pursuit takes him deep into the backwoods of Alabama, where he discovers that money, not talent, often determines who wins. Signing Tony Raymond is directed by American filmmaker Glen Owen (a University of Georgia basketball alum), director of the film Stalked Within previously, plus the “Gillian in Georgia” series and sports doc “Comeback: A March Madness Story” on TV. Produced by John Thomas, Kristy Clabaugh, Don Mandrik, and Glen Owen. The film just premiered at the 2025 Austin Film Festival this month. Iconic will debut Glen Owen’s Signing Tony Raymond film in theaters starting sometime in early 2026. Stay tuned for the exact release date next year. Anyone into this?

“What a beautiful face… But be careful. Your beautiful face might consume you.” Definitely. GKids has revealed a second trailer for the acclaimed Japanese drama titled Kokuho, made by filmmaker Sang-il Lee. The title Kokuho means “national treasure” and is inspired by a true story. This first premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in Directors’ Fortnight and opens in limited theaters in November. Tickets for viewings in NY & LA are on sale now. Already announced as Japan’s entry for Best International Feature at the Academy Awards, the smash-hit live action feature is directed by Sang-il Lee (of “Pachinko” Season 2, Hula Girls, Rage), and stars Ryo Yoshizawa, Ryusei Yokohama, and Ken Watanabe. With a breakthrough performance for lead actor Ryo Yoshizawa, who trained 18 months in the art and history of Kabuki theater, to embody the role of Kikuo, an actor pursuing greatness at all costs, in a story of glory and heartbreak that spans decades. In post-war Japan’s economic boom, gangster family-born Kikuo finds himself adopted by a kabuki actor. He develops into a gifted performer. This looks truly stunning and so deeply soulful & moving.

Here’s the second US trailer (+ poster) for Sang-il Lee’s drama Kokuho, direct from GKids’ YouTube:

Kokuho Film Trailer

Kokuho Film Poster

You can rewatch the first US trailer for Sang-il Lee’s Kokuho film right here to view even more footage.

Nagasaki, 1964. After the death of his father, leader of a yakuza gang, 14-year-old Kikuo is taken under the wing of a famous Kabuki actor. Alongside Shunsuke, the actor’s only son, Kikuo decides to dedicate himself to this traditional form of theatre. Across decades, the two young men grow and evolve together – from acting school to the grandest stages – amid scandals and glory, brotherhood and betrayals, as each pushes to become the greatest living Kabuki master. Kokuho (which means “national treasure”) is a film of awe-inspiring scope & sumptuous beauty, and a monument to the artists who would sacrifice everything in the pursuit of the ultimate performance. Kokuho is directed by prolific Japanese filmmaker Sang-il Lee, director of the films Chong, Border Line, 69, Hula Girls, Villain, Unforgiven, Rage, The Blue Hearts, The Wandering Moon, and “Pachinko” series previously. The screenplay is written by Satoko Okudera; adapted from the novel by Shûichi Yoshida. Produced by Aniplex Inc. and Myriagon Studio. This initially premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in the Directors’ Fortnight sidebar. GKids will debut Sang-il Lee’s Kokuho in select US theaters starting November 14th, 2025. Stranger Things 5 Trailer Out! Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp Calls Time On The Upside Down- Watch

by jummy84 October 31, 2025
written by jummy84

The lights are flickering once again in Hawkins. Shadows crawl, memories linger, and the air crackles with the kind of electricity only Netflix’s most beloved world can summon. Netflix invites us back to the Upside Down as the trailer for Stranger Things Season 5 drops.

Netflix’s Stranger Things Season 5 Trailer Out!

Counting down to the final chapter, the cast, creators, and executive producers of ‘Stranger Things’ set the stage for what’s to come and where we find our characters at the start of the season, as told to Tudum.

Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), “Eleven is in training mode. She’s in a warrior state, which is the first time you see Eleven like that at the beginning of a season. As for her mindset, all she is thinking about is protecting her friends. Her friends are her chosen family, so she will do whatever it takes to protect them and we’re going to see that.”

Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), “Dustin is kind of in a bit of a funk. I think everybody probably is considering the state that Hawkins is in, and it’s getting a little bit harder for the gang to keep all the pieces together. We’re all dealing with the day-to-day issues of what it is to try to keep everybody safe and figure out where Vecna is, while having a lot of unpacked baggage from the events in the previous season.”

Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), “It’s always been in the beginning of a season that everything is all good, but this is the first season we come into it and the stakes are the same as where we left off. We haven’t defeated Vecna and the problem is still there. We’re still trying to figure it out and we may not be able to figure it out, so you feel that burden on Lucas as well as everyone else on the show. Everyone is on edge and we’re all just trying to keep hope alive.”

Noah Schnapp (Will), “Will is back in Hawkins this season. He was out of Hawkins for the last season, so now we’re seeing the effects of him being back in that realm. We kind of hit the ground running right away this season, which is really exciting and not how we’ve started any other season. Everyone is all in one place and we all have the same objective.”

Sadie Sink (Max), “We [ended] Season 4 in a tough place for Max. Her final moments were her in a hospital bed. Eleven was searching for her in the void and couldn’t find her, so Max is definitely not the way she once was. There’s still a small glimmer of hope, though, and her friends are hanging on to that.”

Finn Wolfhard (Mike), “Mike is back in leadership mode, and he’s kind of taken it more upon himself to help plan out these missions, and he and the whole gang are devoted to finding Vecna and ending this.”

Ross Duffer (Co-Creator, Executive Producer, Writer, Director), “I think what’s unique about this season is that it starts a little bit in chaos because our heroes ultimately lost at the end of Season 4. We usually set up their normal life and how they’re going about school, and then we introduce the supernatural element. But in this case, this season is sprinting from the start.”

Matt Duffer (Co-Creator, Executive Producer, Writer, Director), “They’re not experiencing normal life. Nothing in Hawkins is normal anymore…their movement is restricted, and there are Big Brother cameras everywhere. So not only are they active — their everyday, normal lives are anything but.”

Shawn Levy (Executive Producer & Director), “The action is next level, the visual effects are next level, but I’m also happy to say that the emotional center remains the same. And part of the magic of this show is that even as we evolve, even as the storytelling becomes more epic, it’s always anchored in these characters that we love.”

Perfect Trailer for ‘The Love That Remains’ Icelandic Break Up Comedy

“Only normal people with normal feelings & normal problems. Ahh I love this film!! Janus Films debuted the first US trailer for an Icelandic dark comedy film titled The Love That Remains, a sly break up movie from Hlynur Pálmason. This premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival earlier this year & was one of the best films of the fest – it also recently played at NYFF. Anna, an artist, and Magnús, a fisherman, live with their three children & charismatic sheepdog in the quiet grandeur of the Icelandic countryside. As fractures in their marriage come to the surface, the couple try to hold onto the afterimages of a life together and make sense of a deep & lingering devotion. Filmmaker Hlynur Pálmason (also of the immaculate Godland) brings surprising humor and emotional weight to this gorgeous, intimate, and brilliantly expansive scenes from a marriage, amidst the majestic backdrop of the changing seasons. Starring Saga Garðarsdóttir, Sverrir Guðnason, Ída, Mekkín Hlynsdóttir, Grímur Hlynsson, Þorgils Hlynsson, Ingvar Sigurðsson, Anders Mossling. And Panda the doggie. I’m lucky to be quoted in this trailer and on the poster! It’s also Iceland’s official selection for Best International Feature Film for this year’s Oscars. What a brilliant trailer.

Here’s the first US trailer (+ poster) for Hlynur Pálmason’s film The Love That Remains, from YouTube:

Produced by Anton Máni Svansson and Katrin Pors. This initially premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival as one of our favorites of the fest (read our review) and it also played at NYFF and London. Janus Films will release Hlynur Pálmason’s The Love That Remains in select US theaters starting on January 30th, 2026 early next year. Who wants to watch this?

“The creature dies today!” The Asylum has unveiled their official trailer for the B-movie called Predator: Wastelands, available to watch on VOD next week just before the real movie opens. It is an obvious ripoff of the actual Predator: Badlands movie, but now they’re affectionately called “mockbusters”. The Asylum has been making these mockbuster spoofs for decades, and we usually don’t post these trailers, but this is a fun one because the FX & design that went into this is so funny you just have to see it. When an alien hunter arrives on Earth, it takes down a gang of warlords and unexpectedly becomes a folk hero to the oppressed locals. With their support, the alien sets its sights on defeating the warlords’ ruthless leader. Starring David Chokachi, Johnny Ramey, Amulya Ananth, Vanessa Zanardi, L.A. Williams, and West Wayne. This looks so ridiculous bad and cheesy and awful, but that’s all part of the charm. Why not have some fun?

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Ryan Ebert’s B-movie Predator: Wastelands, from YouTube:

The Asylum’s new movie Predator: Wastelands is written and directed by B-movie filmmaker Ryan Ebert (no relation to Roger), director of this year’s other B-movie The Jolly Monkey, and also development coordinator on many other The Asylum movies over the years. Produced by David Michael Latt. Made by The Asylum & Atomic Blonde Entertainment. The Asylum debuts Ebert’s Predator: Wastelands mockbuster movie direct-to-VOD starting on November 4th, 2025 this fall. Does anyone actually want to watch this?

“The blood-soaked musical of your dreams!” Dark Star Pictures has revealed the bonkers official US trailer for a wicked crazy, one-of-a-kind, indie horror creation called Chainsaw Were Singing from Estonian filmmaker Sander Maran (who did all the VFX & SFX in addition to directing). Yes, indeed, this is a horror musical riff on Texas Chain Saw Massacre and other slashers. “Nearly 10 years in the making, this bastard child of Stephen Sondheim and Lloyd Kaufman is an utterly indescribable Estonian odyssey.” It premiered at many genre film festivals in 2024, including at Fantasia & Fantastic Fest, and it will be out on VOD in the US this November. A zany, gonzo, blood-soaked musical about lovers split up by a chainsaw-wielding killer. Over a decade in the making, this colorful murder-fest is part gory horror movie + part ridiculous musical. Along the way, they encounter some trigger-happy, pastry-loving cops, a helpful little hedgehog, a shitload of exploding cars + a cult that worships a talking fridge full of nauseating contents. Starring Karl-Joosep Ilves, Laura Niils, Janno Puusepp, Martin Ruus, Rita Rätsepp. It’s described as “Texas Chainsaw Massacre meets Monty Python in [an] award-winning wacky Cannibal Musical.” Looks like a blast! Ahaha.

Here’s the official US trailer for Sander Maran’s horror film Chainsaws Were Singing, from YouTube:

Chainsaws Were Singing Trailer

Chainsaws Were Singing Poster

Via Fantastic Fest: “Maria is having one of the worst days of her life. Her parents died. Her dog, too. She was fired from her job. She was beaten by thugs in the street. But all of her troubles melt away when she locks eyes with Tom in the midst of his suicide attempt. Soon, the gobsmacked young lovers are hand-in-hand, bounding across sun-dappled meadows & expressing their undying love in song. Their courtship is cut short when a spree killer with a chainsaw and his own musical backstory takes Maria captive to feed his grotesque family of cannibals, consisting of his overbearing mother, artistically inclined little brother, and incestuous cousins Pepe and Kevin. Vowing to come to his lady’s rescue, Tom teams up with Jaan, a goodhearted, goofy passerby with nothing but time on his hands and a song in his heart. The two head deep into the woods, embarking on a madcap quest full of blood, guts, and toe-tapping show tunes.” 🎵 🩸

Chainsaws Were Singing, also known as Mootorsaed Laulsid in Estonian, is written & directed by Estonian filmmaker Sander Maran, making his feature directorial debut after many other short films. From a story by Sander Maran & Karl Ilves. Produced by Kaur Maran, Sander Maran, Karl-Joosep Ilves, Jan Andresson & Peeter Maran. This initially premiered at the 2024 Haapsalu Horror & Fantasy Film Festival in Estonia, and also at Fantasia and Fantastic Fest that year. Dark Star Pictures releases Maran’s Chainsaws Were Singing direct-to-VOD in the US starting on November 25th, 2025 coming soon this fall. Anyone want to watch?

Final Trailer for ‘Baahubali: The Epic’ – Global Re-Release This Week

by Alex Billington

“Everything a blockbuster should be!” It’s time to watch them battle (again)! Variance Films & Arka have launched final trailers for Baahubali: The Epic, a remastered + recut version of the two-part Baahubali epic series of movies. Arriving in theaters worldwide THIS weekend. Directed by S.S. Rajamouli, who later went on to make the world-shattering RRR, he also directed these two massive action movies Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017). Now he’s combined both into one big film, bringing together footage from both with technical enhancements and previously unseen scenes added in. When a lost prince is rescued and raised in exile, he grows up unaware of his past. Years later, he returns to uncover the truth about his father’s murder and his mother’s imprisonment, and will rise to reclaim his place as the rightful king. Yes he will! Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Epic stars Prabhas in dual roles, with Rana Daggubati, Anushka, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, and Nassar. For the uninitiated, these movies are totally awesome – as epic as anything can ever be. And this is a proper exciting, thrilling, spectacular big screen experience following a riveting story about this prince. Enjoy it in theaters.

Here’s the final official trailers (+ poster) for S.S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Epic, direct from YouTube:

Baahubali: The Epic Trailer

Baahubali: The Epic Poster

You can also rewatch the other official trailer for S.S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Epic right here for more.

10 years before RRR took the world by storm, master filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli redefined Indian Cinema with his two-part Baahubali saga – from 2015 & 2017. Now, the epic tale of royalty, revenge, kings, and wars has been personally re-edited by the master himself into a single unforgettable cinematic experience, with fully remastered picture and sound (and a few new surprises), so audiences can reunite to experience the euphoria the way it was intended: on the big screen. When a lost prince (Prabhas) is rescued & raised in exile, he grows up unaware of his past. Years later, he returns to uncover the truth about his father’s murder and his mother’s imprisonment, and must rise to reclaim his place as the rightful king. Baahubali: The Epic (aka Bahubali) is directed by acclaimed Indian filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli, his 10th feature film at the time – he later directed RRR in 2022. Produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni under Arka Media Works. Made in the Telugu film industry (in both Telugu & Tamil). Baahubali: The Beginning first released in 2015; Baahubali: The Conclusion in 2017. Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Epic opens in theaters worldwide starting October 31st, 2025 – with special screenings October 29th. Who wants to go watch it?
