Sex Pistols With Frank Carter Postpone North American Tour

by jummy84 September 2, 2025
written by jummy84

The Sex Pistols and Frank Carter have some bad news to share.

On Friday, guitarist Steve Jones broke the news to fans that he had broken his wrist and that the band would need to postpone their upcoming run of North and American shows that had been slated to kick off on Sept. 16 at Dallas’ Longhorn Ballroom.

“I’ve got some good news and bad news. What do you want first?” wrote Jones in an Instagram post. “Okay, the bad news: I’ve broken my wrist, so unfortunately we won’t be doing any shows for a while.”

On the other hand, the musician said that the “good news is the surgeon said I will be back playing guitar in the not-too-distant future. The other good news is I’ll be 70 tomorrow!” Before ending his message, he said, “God bless, and God save the wrist.”

Along with the group’s North American concerts, their shows in South America have also been postponed and will be rescheduled when Jones fully recovers. More information will be shared on local venue websites and social media.

The Sex Pistol’s 50th anniversary tour lineup features Jones, bassist Glen Matlock, drummer Paul Cook, and Gallows singer and new vocalist Frank Carter performing the 1977 punk classic Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols in its entirety, including other tracks from the band’s catalog.

Trending Stories

The tour was set to be the band’s first North American performances since 2003, when its members took the stage with original frontman John Lydon, a.k.a. Johnny Rotten.

Lydon has bashed his former bandmates reunion tour with Carter, calling it “a clown’s circus at work” in an April interview with the Independent. “Sorry, I’m not going to give a helping hand to this any longer, as far as I am concerned, I am the Pistols, and they’re not.” In another interview with NME, Lydon said the concerts were little more than “karaoke presentation.”

Sex Pistols Featuring Frank Carter have been forced to postpone their upcoming South American and North American tour dates after guitarist Steve Jones suffered a broken wrist.

The band posted the following message on its Facebook page, including a direct quote from Jones:

“We have some unfortunate news to share about our upcoming North and South American performances. We’ll let Steve explain what’s going on:

‘I’ve got some good news and bad news. What do you want first? Okay, the bad news: I’ve broken my wrist, so unfortunately we won’t be doing any shows for a while. The good news is the surgeon said I will be back playing guitar in the not-too-distant future. The other good news is I’ll be 70 tomorrow! God bless, and God save the wrist.’

The performances will be postponed and rescheduled when Steve has fully recovered. Please check local venue websites and our social media for more information. We appreciate your understanding and support.”

The North American tour was supposed to kick off September 16th in Dallas, and run through an October 17th show in Las Vegas. Along the way, the band was set to play Riot Fest in Chicago and CBGB Fest in Brooklyn.

Joni Mitchell, Cher, John Legend and SZA join Cyndi Lauper for her final farewell tour show

by jummy84 August 31, 2025
written by jummy84

Cyndi Lauper performed the final show of her farewell tour at the Hollywood Bowl last night (August 30), and she was joined on stage by special guests Joni Mitchell, Cher, John Legend and SZA.

Earlier this year, Lauper announced that she would wrap up the final leg of her North American ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ farewell tour with two shows at the Hollywood Bowl on August 29 and 30.

Fans were speculating whether she would do anything special to mark the culmination of the tour, and she surprised the audience by bringing out special guests, including Joni Mitchell, Cher, John Legend and SZA.

Mitchell joined the pop musician for a rendition of ‘Carey’. This marks Mitchell’s second public appearance in 2025. Later, John Legend came on stage to duet ‘Time After Time’.  The encore featured SZA, who joined Lauper for ‘True Colours’. It ended with Cher surprising the attendees by joining Cyndi for a duet of ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’.

Elsewhere, singer-songwriter Jake Wesley Rogers, who was the support act, joined for a cover of The Brains’ ‘Money Changes Everything’.

Watch some fan-captured footage of these duets, and check out the full set list below.

Encore:
‘Shine’
‘True Colors’ (with SZA)
‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ (with Cher)

The ‘Goonies R Good Enough’ singer previously embarked on a North American farewell tour late last year. The run of dates saw her bring out Sam Smith at her Madison Square Garden show in NYC to perform a duet of her hit track ‘Time After Time’. She also brought out Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams at her show in Nashville for a duet of ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’.

She also opened up about why she decided to have a farewell tour while appearing as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

While she clarified that she’s by no means retiring, Lauper has ruled out “the trains, planes and automobiles”, suggesting that she’s open to the occasional hometown performance. She explained further: “I want to do an arena tour… I’m strong now, but I don’t know what I’m going to be like in four years.”

Shortly after, Lauper acknowledged her age by getting off her seat to mimic herself using a walker. “For me, I wanted to have a chance to do this when I’m feeling strong. I want to celebrate with people. Really celebrate with people, and make it fun.”

In other news, Lauper was recently nominated to be inducted into the 2025 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

My Chemical Romance's "The Black Parade Tour" Is a True Emo Arena Spectacle: Review

My Chemical Romance’s “The Black Parade Tour” Is a True Emo Arena Spectacle: Review

by jummy84 August 31, 2025
written by jummy84

My Chemical Romance has always had a penchant for theater. Really, it more or less comes with their brand of wildly popular, larger than life emo rock. From their visual aesthetic to their high-concept ideas to the quiver of frontman Gerard Way’s voice, MCR’s popularity in no small part comes from their willingness to throw themselves into angsty, story-driven melodrama, and they perhaps never did it better than on their seminal 2006 rock opera The Black Parade. Cold take, I know, but as their latest run of concerts, the “Long Live: The Black Parade Tour,” proves, the record and all of its accompanying theatrics still resonate 20 years later.

The ongoing tour, which included Friday night’s stop at Chicago’s Soldier Field, isn’t the first time My Chemical Romance has undergone a Sgt. Pepper-esque transformation into “The Black Parade.” Following the album’s initial release, the band embarked on a jaunt that saw them embrace the moniker and perform the record in full. Though “The Black Parade” was canonically killed off at the end of that tour, MCR brought the concept back post-reunion for a pair of headlining sets at the When We Were Young music festival in 2024. As they bring their fictional counterparts back in 2025 for a series of select shows at baseball and football stadiums around the country, they’re following a similar structure, ripping through The Black Parade top-to-bottom before a second mini-set of songs from the rest of their catalog.

Get My Chemical Romance Tickets Here

How does such a performance fare in 2025? Remarkably well, actually, thanks to the production value and sheer spectacle of the whole ordeal.

As MCR makes their way through the 13 tracks of The Black Parade (plus a reprise of “The End.” and a pre-recorded playback of the album’s hidden track “Blood”), a loose narrative with themes of fascism, rebellion, and (you guessed it) death plays out in the background. There are choreographed set pieces in between songs, non-band characters like guest opera singers and ever-present dictators who sit in the audience, parodies of propagandistic media, and, by the end, plenty of pyrotechnics.

Related Video

Then there’s the headline-making, audience interaction element: the execution by vote. Admittedly, it’s a pretty fun gimmick made all the better by Way’s over-the-top, inconsistently-accented protagonist. For Chicago specifically, there seemed to be some issue when it came to distributing the red and black placards throughout the massive stadium. (I, on the other hand, somehow ended up with a full stack of them — there’s a metaphor about the state of democracy in there somewhere…) Luckily, though, the band was able to improvise their way out of any awkward moments, resulting in no cracks in the show’s immersion.

By the end, Way’s attempts to break out of whatever system he’s trapped within fail, as he’s eventually stabbed to death while the rest of the band is ransacked. Brutal stuff, but what else could a fan expect from The Black Parade themselves?

Emma Heming Willis can’t wait to go on tour to promote her book about caregiving.

Emma Heming Willis can’t wait to go on tour to promote her book about caregiving

The model, 47, had been looking after her ailing husband Bruce Willis, 70, since he was diagnosed with dementia in 2023 and this week announced he had been moved to a separate home to receive professional help.

She has since been trolled for allowing the move while promoting herself as a caregiver.

But she has hit back at critics on Instagram, with her page revealing she can’t wait to go on her book tour to promote her upcoming book The Unexpected Road.

The book will tell of her path to becoming Bruce’s caregiver and she will give her first talk to promote the book on 8 September.

Emma wrote in what is her latest Instagram post: “One month out from taking The Unexpected Journey on the road, and I’m so excited to share with you the dates and places I’ll be.

“What I’m most looking forward to is being in a room with other caregivers. “That was one of the many reasons I wrote this book, to build deeper connection with those walking this path alongside me and my family.

“I hope to see you there and I can’t wait to connect in person. (Blue heart emoji.)

“Tour stops and details are in my bio or at emmahemingwillis.com under the “book” section. (Book emoji.) #theunexpectedjourney #caregiversupport #booktour.”

Emma hit back at trolls by saying she is being “judged quickly and unfairly” for the way she has been caring for Bruce.

She recently said it was the “hardest decision” to have him moved to a separate home where he now lives with a full-time care team.

Emma is bringing up their daughters Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11, and said on Instagram: “Bruce would want that for our daughters. He would want them to be in a home that was more tailored to their needs, not his needs.”

She added: “Too often, caregivers are judged quickly and unfairly by those who haven’t lived this journey or stood on the front lines of it.

“Sharing openly may invite opinions, but more importantly, it creates connection and validation for those actually navigating the realities of caregiving every day.”

Her book on caregiving is coming out on 9 September, and she says in a synopsis of the tome: “Caring for yourself while caring for someone else is one of the hardest, most heartbreaking challenges you’ll ever face. It’s easy to lose your sense of self.

“Through my own experience and insights from leading experts, I want to help care partners feel less alone, better prepared, and empowered to navigate this journey with strength and support. When you care for yourself first, you’re better able to care for your person.

“This isn’t just about surviving – it’s about finding connection, resilience, and even moments of joy along the way. You don’t have to do this alone.”

Blink-182 kicked off their ‘Missionary Impossible‘ US tour with Alkaline Trio yesterday (August 29), and they brought back some fan favourites and rarities for the first time in over a decade.

This is their first tour of the year, and the band brought out some rarities as well as some well-liked favourites for fans who attended the opening gig.

In addition to popular tracks such as ‘What’s My Age Again?’, they also played ‘Online Songs’ and ‘Roller Coaster’ for the first time since 2001. Blink played ‘Josie’ for the first time since 2018, and it was the first time DeLonge played it since 2014 after he reunited with the group in 2022.

Additionally, they played ‘Wishing Well’ for the first time since 2014; and their cover of Descendants’ ‘Hope’ for the first time since 2003.

The ‘Missionary Impossible’ tour will continue tonight in Tampa, Florida. It will then make stops in cities including Atlanta, Charleston, and Kansas City. You can find any remaining tickets here.

This tour follows their 2024 world tour and their 2023 album ‘One More Time…’, their first album in over a decade with the original trio of Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker after DeLonge left in 2015.

Back in May, the band’s Mark Hoppus spoke to NME about his band’s past rivalry with Green Day, dating back to their shared 2002 ‘Pop Disaster Tour’.

Speaking to NME about the strange competitiveness that the two bands felt towards each other during the tour, Hoppus said: “That was very strange because I grew up listening to Green Day. I literally waited for the day that ‘Dookie’ [1994] came out, and I was in line waiting to buy it.”

“I was a huge fan, then we’re touring with them, but it was a weird thing where Green Day were dipping at the time and Blink were ascendent. We were billed as co-headliners, but Blink were closing every night, and that was a strange sensation for us. Headlining over your idols is a little strange.”

He later added: “We showed up, we thought we were cool, we had a Number One record [‘Take Off Your Pants And Jacket’], we were the first punk band to ever have a Number One record, Green Day were on their way down for a little bit.

“We walked in thinking we were hot shit and Green Day walked in ready to fight – musically of course, they were super cool to us the whole time.”

In the same interview, Hoppus also opened up about his role in “saving the world from Saddam Hussein” and the chance he once had to “make out” with The Cure’s Robert Smith.

Last month, Blink-182’s Travis Barker came together with Tool drummer Danny Carey and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith for a drum-off at Black Sabbath’s final ever show.

It took place midway through the night, and saw the drummers from Tool, Blink-182 and Red Hot Chili Peppers flex their skills while covering the Sabbath track ‘Symptom Of The Universe’.

Jessie J has been forced to cancel her US tour so she can undergo further cancer treatment.

Jessie J has cancelled tour dates as she needs more breast cancer treatment

The 37-year-old singer revealed in June that she had a mastectomy amid her battle with breast cancer and has explained on social media that she now needs a second surgery.

Jessie stressed that the procedure is “nothing too serious” but “has to be done by the end of the year”, which clashes with her upcoming tour dates in both Europe and the US.

In a video uploaded to Instagram on Thursday (28.08.25), the Price Tag singer explained: “As some of you may know I just had breast cancer surgery eight weeks ago, that’s the first thing.

“The second thing is unfortunately I have to have a second surgery. Nothing too serious but it has to be done by the end of the year and unfortunately that falls right in the middle of a tour I had booked.

“So I am living in the moment, I am embracing in the moment and I am flowing with the vibes.”

Jessie revealed that her UK and European tour dates have been pushed back to April 2026 but the US shows have been cancelled due to difficulty rescheduling.

She explained: “I haven’t been able to finesse the US dates yet so unfortunately that will be cancelled but I’m spending all my time trying to find time to make the venues make sense again in a slab of time next year.

“Please bear with us for the US tour, it is something I want to do but when the time is right.

“You guys know how much I want to do all of it but I just can’t and have to be realistic.”

The Domino hitmaker is “frustrated and sad” at having to cancel the concerts but feels that it is a necessary decision for her health.

Jessie said: “I’m so sorry, I feel frustrated and sad. But also it is what it is. I need to be better, I need to be healed and this is the right decision to make so I am postponing the tour until next year.”

She continued: “I am trying to be in the moment and compartmentalise all the different things that are happening in my life and where I have to give the energy.

“But I have to heal so forgive me. I am sorry this sucks, but I know you probably knew this was coming.

“I love you all so much, I’m going to go before I cry my eyes out.”
