Louis Tomlinson says he will “forever despise” Logan Paul over controversial Liam Payne interview

Louis Tomlinson has said that he will “forever despise” Logan Paul over his divisive interview with Liam Payne.

Payne appeared on YouTuber Paul’s Impaulsive series in June 2022 and made headlines for a slew of controversial comments about his time in One Direction, including claiming that one of his bandmates had thrown him “up a wall” during an argument.

He also said that there were “many reasons why I dislike Zayn [Malik]”, and that Simon Cowell formed the group around him as the lead member. His comments were met with criticism, with Payne accused of being “arrogant”.

A year after appearing on the podcast, Payne apologised for his words, saying it was “hard for me to watch back” and that he hadn’t realised how much “impact” his words would have. He also revealed that he had spent 100 days in rehab after the interview.

Payne passed away in October 2024 after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Following his death, the interview recirculated, with fans looking at his words in a new light, considering his struggles with his mental health.

Now, his former bandmate Tomlinson has addressed the podcast. Speaking in a new interview with the Independent, he said: “I fucking forever despise [Logan Paul], horrible, horrible little fucker.”

He added, “I think that’s also the problem with some of this new ‘media’… I would like to think most journalists,” before correcting himself and saying, “some journalists have a duty of care.”

Tomlinson went on to clarify Payne’s claim that he was the lead member of the group, saying it was true. “It was, definitely,” he says. “It was definitely a role that was assigned to him. That is the truth.”

Addressing the podcast in 2023, Payne said that his words had come from “self-protection”, but that “the rest of the boys really stuck by me when I needed them most, they kinda came to the rescue”.

“Even Zayn, as well,” he added, “which is why I did send him a little thank you online. It came across really big-headed didn’t it?”

He added at the time: “I think, for me, a lot of what I said just came from the wrong place. I was so angry at what was going on around me. Instead of taking a look inwards, I decided to look outwards at everybody else.

“I just took it out on everybody else, which is just wrong, really, and my own frustrations with my own career and where I landed – I took shots at everybody else and that was wrong so I just wanna apologise for that in the first instance.”

Payne’s former bandmates – Tomlinson, Malik, Harry Styles and Niall Horan – all paid tribute to Payne in a statement following his death, while each band member also took to their social media accounts to pay their respects.

Tomlinson has recently addressed Payne’s death and said it was “impossibly difficult for him to deal with”.

Elsewhere, Tomlinson and Malik recently announced that they are set to reunite for a new Netflix documentary series.

The former also recently announced his third studio album ‘How Did I Get Here?’, which will be released on January 23 and you can pre-order here along with a 2026 arena tour which will see him play around the UK and Europe next year. You can see all the dates here, while tickets go on general sale on Friday (October 10) here.

Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik Reunite for Netflix Docuseries

by jummy84 October 4, 2025

A year after the tragic death of former bandmate Liam Payne, One Direction alumni Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik are set to star in a road trip documentary series for Netflix.

In the forthcoming three-part TV show, the title of which is yet to be announced, Tomlinson and Malik will travel across the United States. And during that reunion, they’re expected to discuss their grief around Payne’s death, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The series will be “a rare look inside the world of two of the most famous — and most private — men on the planet opening up about life, loss, and fatherhood,” according to a synopsis the singers’ representatives offered to the outlet.

Nicola Marsh will direct the series, having previously helped Child Star, Song Exploder, and Stay on Board: The Leo Baker Story. And the series comes from Campfire Studios, the production company behind Unknown Number: The High School Catfish, SmartLess: On the Road, and America’s Sweethearts: The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.

One Direction formed on the U.K. reality competition The X Factor in 2010 and went on to become one of the most successful boy bands of all time. Their five studio albums all went Platinum, four out of the five hit No. 1, and they had 29 songs chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Sony Music notes One Direction sold more than 200 million records worldwide and ranks as the first band in Billboard 200 history to have their first four albums reach No. 1.

Malik left the band in 2015, and the group went on indefinite hiatus in 2016.

Payne died on October 16, 2024, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, after falling from a hotel balcony. He was 31 years old.

In an Instagram statement at the time, Malik said he felt “beyond devastated,” as he had “lost a brother” whom he loved and respected dearly. “I hope that wherever you are right now you are good and are at peace and you know how loved you are,” he added.

And in another Instagram tribute, Tomlinson said, “Liam was, in my opinion, the most vital part of One Direction. His experience from a young age, his perfect pitch, his stage presence, his gift for writing. The list goes on. Thank you for shaping us, Liam.”

Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik are reportedly set to reunite in an upcoming Netflix documentary series.

The U.S. road trip-style docuseries will follow the former One Direction bandmates as they reflect on their personal lives, careers and the sudden death of fellow member Liam Payne, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The series, directed by Nicola Marsh, is slated to debut on Netflix in 2026 and is being produced by Campfire Studios, the production company behind Unknown Number: The High School Catfish, SmartLess: On the Road, and America’s Sweethearts: The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.

Marsh is known for her work on the Demi Lovato documentary Child Star, Song Exploder, and Stay on Board: The Leo Baker Story.

Payne died in October 2024 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Toxicology reports confirmed the 31-year-old had high levels of alcohol and several other substances in his system at the time of his death.

Following Payne’s passing, all former One Direction members — including Harry Styles and Niall Horan — shared tributes on social media.

“We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing,” the group said in a joint Instagram statement. “In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly. The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly. We love you Liam.”

Neither Styles nor Horan are expected to appear in the Netflix series, according to THR.

Louis Tomlinson on Zayn Malik, One Direction Reunion Rumors

by jummy84 October 2, 2025
written by jummy84

Louis Tomlinson has a whole lot of history with Zayn Malik.

That’s why the One Direction singer didn’t necessarily shut down the speculation he and his former bandmate, who left the group in 2015, are reuniting for a new project.

“I heard that,” Louis coyly said of the rumors in a recent iHeartRadio interview. “I thought that was pretty interesting, pretty astute.”

The 33-year-old—who was joined by Zayn, 32, during a recent night out in New York City—added, “I just supposed they’d have to wait and see.”

Louis’ cryptic answer comes after multiple outlets reported that he and Zayn, 32, struck a multi-million deal with Netflix to film a documentary in which they travel across the United States.

E! News has reached out to Zayn’s rep and Netflix for comment but hasn’t heard back.

And the duo have certainly seen fair share of ups and downs together. Shortly after Zayn departed from 1D, Louis lashed out at his fellow The X Factor alum in a heated social media exchange.

Louis Tomlinson “got a really good feeling” about his next album

Louis Tomlinson is teasing his next solo album, saying he’s “got a really, really good feeling” about the project.

The soloist and former One Direction member released his second and latest full-length effort, ‘Faith In The Future’, in 2022.

Taking to X/Twitter today (September 10), Tomlinson shared an update with fans about his upcoming third LP.

“Just sat listening to the new record and I’ve got a really, really good feeling this time round!” he wrote. “Can’t wait for you all to hear it!!”

Later, the star hinted that he was “going to play something new” at this year’s edition of his Away From Home indie festival in New York next month. When a fan asked if this would be “only one new song”, Tomlinson replied: “That wouldn’t be fair would it.”

The singer told his followers last week that it was “about time” he played some new material on stage. He said he was “really excited about” his Away From Home ’25 slot, adding: “Got a few surprises. Should be fun.”

Fans have also been speculating over Tomlinson posting numerous question marks on social media, and whether this is a clue about his next era. Check out a selection of posts below.

According to Music-News.COM, Tomlinson previously described his forthcoming new tracks as “sunny” with some “chaos” when asked by a fan what to expect.

When performing at the Lodz Summer Festival in July, he reportedly revealed that he’d “actually finished the next record”.

Tomlinson’s Away From Home Festival 2025 takes place at the Brewery Ommegang in New York on October 4 and 5. Other performers include Lauv, Steve Aoki, Pale Waves and Circa Waves.

Following on from his 2020 debut, ‘Walls’, Tomlinson’s second album was produced by Mike Crossey, who has worked with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, The 1975 and Wolf Alice. The singer co-wrote the record alongside The Music frontman Rob Harvey, and the songwriting and production team Red Triangle.

During an interview with NME in 2022, the singer said he was “definitely” more comfortable with who he was as an artist compared to when he first went solo.

“That has been a process and I think it’ll be an ever-evolving process as well,” Tomlinson explained. “But I definitely feel really comfortable about just following my heart musically and seeing where it gets me.”

You can revisit NME‘s video interview with Tomlinson above.

Over the summer, the singer hit out at online “conspiracy chat” about his personal life. “It’s just too much and too hurtful for me to see!” he wrote on social media.

In 2023, Tomlinson admitted that he felt some “envy” when his former One Direction bandmate Harry Styles first started becoming successful as a soloist.
