Judi Dench: Shakespeare, My Family and Me will air on Channel 4 this Christmas, with a date TBA.

When Dame Judi Dench tries to teach her recalcitrant African grey parrot, Sweetie, the name of her literary hero, she’s met with stony silence. “Shakespeare!” the Oscar-winning actress coos, before sighing. “It would be wonderful if you said it!”

The parrot has other ideas. “I was with my nephew and suddenly she said, ‘Drop your trousers. You’re a slag’. It’s very rude! She didn’t get that from me!” she laughs. However, while Dench has no luck with her pet bird, she hopes to reap more rewards in an intimate documentary on her passion for Britain’s famous man of letters and the possibility of uncovering an ancient family connection.

During Channel 4’s Shakespeare, My Family and Me, she examines new evidence about the life of her eight times great-grandfather, the nobleman Anders Bille, who was a member of the Danish royal court in the 17th century and whom she first discovered during a 2021 episode of the BBC series, Who Do You Think You Are?

Ideally, Dame Judi would like to find out whether Bille ever met the Bard, which – if true – would be an incredible discovery given the profound influence he has had on her own life, both professionally and personally. Her late husband, Michael Williams, who performed at the Royal Shakespeare Company himself, famously called the wordsmith “the man who pays the rent” and Dench even has a tree in her garden dedicated to him.

Dame Judi’s passion for the writer began in childhood and today, she says, the rhythm of his language is in her blood. She has played most of his female roles, from Ophelia in Hamlet to Lady Macbeth and ruefully admits: “I can’t remember what I’m doing the day after tomorrow or the day after that, but I can remember reams of Shakespeare”. Indeed, in the documentary, there are spine-tingling moments when she fluently recites passages from his plays.

Judi has a love of Shakespeare. It’s completely natural

Director, Harvey Lilley

“She’s in the library in Denmark and does a soliloquy from Antony and Cleopatra,” exclaims director Harvey Lilley. “It’s spontaneous, unrehearsed. She hasn’t been in Antony and Cleopatra since 1987! We had no idea that was coming. She has this love of Shakespeare. It’s the language, the rhythm. For her, it’s not an ancient language. It’s something completely natural.”

Dame Judi searches through the Danish archives to find out whether her ancestor may have met the playwright in 1606, just a year after the Gunpowder Plot and as plague returned to England – but also, adds Lilley, the year “Macbeth and King Lear may have been performed for the first time and possibly when Antony and Cleopatra was being written.”

Lilley, who directed the episode of Who Do You Think You Are? in which Dame Judi’s Danish roots were first discovered, continues: “You have this detective story, which is astonishing in itself – did her ancestor actually meet her hero? But this also allowed her to talk about her life and her relationship with Shakespeare.”

The director has a long history of working with Dame Judi, including on My Passion for Trees in 2017 and Wild Borneo Adventure in 2019. “We hoisted her up a tree twice the size of Nelson’s Column. She’s just up for it!” he says. But clearly there’s also a level of trust between them. In the documentary she touches on the deterioration of her vision due to age-related macular degeneration. “As you see in the film, she’s determined,” says Lilley. “She has a fear of boredom. Yes, her eyesight is an issue, but moving forward she wants to do stuff, and she wants to carry on. She makes it easy because she’s such an enthusiast.”

Kim Kardashian is dead-set on becoming a lawyer no matter what. The fashion mogul, reality TV star and All’s Fair actress has shared her passion for prison reform and is following in her late father Robert Kardashian Sr.’s footsteps in attempting to become an attorney. But the journey has not been easy. In November 2025, Kim shared that she had failed the California State Bar Exam, leaving some fans confused because they thought she’d already taken the test.

“Well…I’m not a lawyer yet, I just play a very well-dressed one on TV,” Kim wrote on her Instagram Stories. “Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up – just more studying and even more determination.”

Kim vowed to brush off the loss and persevere, adding in her message,  “Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way so far. [Falling] short isn’t failure – it’s fuel. I was so close to passing the exam and that only motivated me even more. Let’s go!”

So, how many times has Kim taken — and failed — the bar exam? Below, learn all about Kim’s background in law, from her education to how many times she’s taken the bar so far.

“OMFGGGG I PASSED THE BABY BAR EXAM!!!!” she tweeted at the time. “Looking in the mirror, I am really proud of the woman looking back today in the reflection. … For anyone who doesn’t know my law school journey, know this wasn’t easy or handed to me.”

7 Times Bollywood Actresses Slayed In Mermaid Gowns

by jummy84 November 9, 2025
written by jummy84

The mermaid or fish-cut silhouette is fashion’s most unforgiving yet most rewarding design. It demands confidence, celebrates curves, and turns every appearance into a red carpet moment. This body-hugging style that flares dramatically from the knees has become the go-to choice for Bollywood’s leading ladies who want to make an unforgettable entrance. From shimmering metallics to bold monochromes and romantic florals, these seven actresses have proven that when it comes to making an unforgettable style statement, nothing quite compares to the drama and elegance of a perfectly tailored mermaid gown. Here’s how Janhvi Kapoor, Manushi Chhillar, Kiara Advani, Ananya Panday, Sharvari Wagh, Khushi Kapoor, and Shanaya Kapoor are redefining glamour, one curve-hugging silhouette at a time.

7 Times Bollywood Actresses Slayed In Mermaid Gowns

Janhvi Kapoor The Silver Screen Goddess

Janhvi Kapoor epitomises Old Hollywood glamour in a stunning silver embellished mermaid gown featuring intricate beadwork and a sweetheart neckline that hugs her curves before cascading into a dramatic flare. The metallic sheen catches every angle of light, while her simple diamond choker and sleek side-parted hair keep the focus on the architectural beauty of the gown. Shot against a rich burgundy backdrop, Janhvi’s look is pure cinematic elegance, proving that she knows exactly how to command attention with timeless sophistication and modern sensibility.

Manushi Chhillar’s Golden Hour Glamour

Manushi Chhillar radiates royalty in a breathtaking golden sequined mermaid ensemble featuring a plunging halter-neck crop top paired with a matching high-waisted skirt that flares into an exaggerated fishtail hem. The all-over embellishment creates a shimmering, textured effect that catches light beautifully, while her minimal jewellery and soft glam makeup allow the outfit’s intricate craftsmanship to shine. This look showcases Manushi’s innate ability to carry haute couture with grace, transforming her into a walking piece of art that’s equal parts regal and contemporary.

Kiara Advani’s Watercolour Dream

Kiara Advani looks ethereal in a romantic strapless mermaid gown featuring an abstract watercolour print in soft pinks, greens, and blues with dramatic flowing tulle extensions that create movement and fantasy. The structured bodice with gentle ruching emphasises her silhouette before the skirt blooms into layers of sheer fabric that seem to float around her. With her hair styled in loose waves and minimal accessories, Kiara embodies effortless elegance, proving that mermaid gowns don’t always have to be about high-voltage glamour. They can also tell softer, more whimsical fashion stories.

Ananya Panday’s Feathered Fantasy

Ananya Panday brings texture and dimension to the classic mermaid silhouette in a nude-toned gown featuring intricate beading on the bodice and cascading feather-like embellishments that create movement from the hips down to the floor. The strapless sweetheart neckline is timeless, while the champagne colour palette gives the look a warm, romantic glow. Paired with a delicate diamond necklace and soft, natural makeup, Ananya demonstrates how to balance drama with sophistication, creating a look that’s both red-carpet ready and refreshingly youthful in its approach to traditional glamour.

Sharvari Wagh’s Monochrome Majesty

Sharvari Wagh makes a powerful statement in a classic black strapless mermaid gown with a striking gold sculptural shoulder piece that adds an avant-garde twist to the timeless silhouette. The sweetheart neckline and form-fitting bodice flow seamlessly into a dramatic flare at the knees, while gold bangles add subtle metallic accents.

Khushi Kapoor’s Bridal-Inspired Brilliance

Khushi Kapoor channels bridal couture in an ivory mermaid lehenga featuring heavy silver embroidery, intricate beadwork, and sheer embellished sleeves that add romance and coverage to the structured silhouette. The off-shoulder neckline and dramatic train create a regal presence, while her statement ruby and diamond necklace adds a pop of colour against the neutral palette.

Shanaya Kapoor’s Crimson Drama

Shanaya Kapoor commands attention in a bold red mermaid gown featuring an off-shoulder neckline with elegant draping, ruched detailing through the bodice and hips, and a voluminous flared skirt that pools dramatically on the floor. The saturated crimson hue is both classic and daring, while her tousled waves and statement diamond necklace add just the right amount of glamour without overwhelming the dress.

From Janhvi’s silver-screen sophistication to Shanaya’s crimson drama, these seven leading ladies have proven that the mermaid silhouette is far from one-dimensional. Whether they be rendered in shimmering metallics or in romantic watercolours, the fish-cut remains one of fashion’s most powerful statements, celebrating femininity, confidence, and the art of dressing for impact. The mermaid gown demands presence, poise, and personality, and these Bollywood beauties deliver on all counts. As they continue to push fashion boundaries while honouring timeless elegance, one thing is clear: the mermaid moment in Bollywood is here to stay, and these young stars are making waves that will inspire fashion lovers for years to come.

Bob Dylan’s Publisher Seemingly Responsible for Takedown of Zohran Mamdani’s “Times They Are a-Changin’” Ad

written by jummy84

On the eve of his New York mayoral election victory, Zohran Kwame Mamdani posted an ad on social media soundtracked by Bob Dylan’s “The Times They Are a-Changin’.” The video, like much of Mamdani’s campaign, went viral, as its “New York is a-changin’” slogan rapidly spread across social media. By the following morning, however, it had been removed from X with a takedown notice: “This media has been disabled in response to a report by the copyright holder.” Unsurprisingly, this was not a snub by Dylan himself but an apparent decision by Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), The New York Times reports. In a statement, UMPG, which acquired Dylan’s songwriting catalog in 2020, said, “As a longstanding policy, we do not license Bob Dylan compositions for projects involving political figures.”

The publishing company has previously denied a request by the Mamdani campaign to license the song, The Times reports, citing two anonymous sources briefed on the matter. UMPG did not explicitly say it had ordered the ad’s removal; copyright violations are sometimes detected electronically, prompting automatic takedowns. As of Thursday morning (November 6), the video is still available on Instagram and TikTok.

Salman Khan shows off ripped physique at 59: Secret to his fitness is exercising 6 times, eating ‘ghar ka khana’

Salman Khan delighted his fans on Monday, November 3, when he shared a shirtless picture of himself on Instagram, showcasing his ripped physique. “Kuch haasil karne ke liye kuch chhodna padta hai…Yeh bina chhode hai (To achieve something one needs to let go of some things…this is without letting go),” the actor wrote in the caption, hinting that he did not go on extreme diets or workout routines to achieve the physique.

So, what is the secret to Salman Khan’s fitness? In a March 2025 interview with Live Mint, the Bollywood superstar’s trainer, Rakkesh R Uddiyar, who has been working with him for over 20 years, shared several details about his fitness regimen, from his workout routine to his diet chart. Let’s find out.

The secret to Salman Khan’s physique

According to Rakesh, the actor does not delve into fancy routines; rather, he keeps things traditional by going for an ‘old-school, typical bodybuilding regime called the giant set.’ This routine, according to Salman’s trainer, is called a HIIT workout, with no rest, and he does it with the AC always turned off.

“He performs about 10 different variations of chest exercises, such as inclines, push-ups, fly and more. We start with one exercise, and he moves to the next without a break. The only rest he takes is when walking from one exercise to another. He doesn’t do heavy weightlifting but focuses on volume training. He will drink water in between,” the fitness coach revealed.

The actor doesn’t believe in spending hours at the gym. Rather, he takes about 30 seconds of a break between each exercise, which, according to Rakesh, is the time needed to walk from one exercise to the next, and wraps up his HIIT routine within 45 minutes to 1 hour. “HIIT makes you sweat, tires you out faster and burns more calories in a shorter time,” the coach explained.

What is Salman Khan’s routine?

Not just a workout, the actor also follows a disciplined lifestyle to complement his fitness routine. According to the trainer, he wakes up early in the morning, followed by a fasted cardio. Then, he does weight training whenever he finds time. “Without weight training and cardio, he won’t sleep,” Rakesh added.

Additionally, Salman works out 6 days a week with one day of rest. Though when he is shooting, the actor does take a break from cardio, but never misses out on weight training.

‘He only eats home-cooked food…’

As for his meals, the actor follows a 5 meals a day diet plan, which includes porridge, eggs, and fruits in the morning, followed by home-cooked food, either fish or chicken, in the afternoon. Rakesh added, “He only eats home food, cooked by his mother. No matter what food you bring him, he would say, ‘Ghar ka khana do. Mummy ne jo banaya wahi khana lagao. Wahi khaunga (I will eat home-cooked food, made by my mom)’. Salman takes some rice and prefers more vegetables. His salads are a priority.”

As for cheat meals, the actor enjoys them once a week, but never exceeds his intake of 2,000 calories. As for his favourite, it is biryani.

Greet Death’s Depression Anthems Are Suited to the Times » PopMatters

by jummy84 November 4, 2025
written by jummy84

Finally, there is a chill in the air in the Midwest, and it is Greet Death season. The Flint, Michigan-based band makes perfect music for that time of year when the days get shorter and you pull the hoodies out of the back of the closet. On the first day of winter last year, I saw them play a packed show in Indianapolis, and it was a perfect way to welcome the coldest season.

Their name and imagery might suggest they fall in the lineage of Repulsion, the death metal pioneers also from Vehicle City, but their sound is a swirl of slowcore and shoegaze. Greet Death are on the road now, touring with Nation of Language before some headlining shows in November, promoting their excellent latest release, Die in Love.

It was a little surprising to see Die in Love arrive just as summer kicked off earlier this year, but 2025 has been one day after another of tough times, and that’s when you need Greet Death. Their songs wash over you, offering a sense of solidarity in the solitude.

“Every time we do a record, we say it’s got to be a fall record, but we released this one in summer,” says Harper Boyhtari, singer and guitarist. “It’s a romantic idea that the Midwest is great at describing depression, and there is a certain rustbelt desolation that makes for evocative imagery that we draw on.”

Co-lead singer and guitarist Logan Gaval conceived the title and the concept that unify the songs that comprise Die in Love. “So far, Logan has titled all of our records. His pitch for this record was ‘love songs done our way’. These songs ruminate on heavy concepts. The title sounds harsh, almost a threat, but it’s also a romantic idea. You hope to find someone you can die in love with. For many people, that’s the ultimate goal. The songs cover all sorts of love–friends, family, romantic, and self-love,” Boyhtari explains.

The introduction to the record came about a year ago, and its title perfectly captures the band’s current state. “Same But Different Now” opens with a more insistent rhythm than most of Greet Death’s songs, but retains the vocal and guitar sound they are known for, leading to an explosive, unexpected conclusion.

Gavel also drove the design of the album cover, which is one of the more memorable of the year, created by Olivia Sullivan. Two children, facing each other and praying, but connected by a black substance, perfectly capture the essence of the song. Die in Love was self-produced and recorded in Boyhtari’s childhood home, which turned out to be an excellent choice. “The living room in that house was great for the drums. There was a big, roomy sound there that we wanted,” Boyhtari shares.

On Greet Death’s last record, New Hell, the chilliness of songs like “Circles of Hell” and “Entertainment” was balanced by warmer-sounding tracks like “You’re Gonna Hate What You’ve Done” and “Strange Days”. Greet Death lean harder into that warmer sound this time on songs like “Country Girl” and “Love Me When You Leave”, and the balance on Die in Love comes from the aforementioned “Same But Different Now” and the anthemic title track. This is their strongest, most dynamic collection of songs yet, sure to be remembered on my year-end list.

Another highlight of Die in Love is “Motherfucker”, which Goval calls a “depression anthem” that aims to provide some catharsis for listeners. For both Goval and Boyhtari, the writing process is a way to compartmentalize feelings, to give them voice. “Motherfucker” and “I Hate Everything”, on the band’s New Low EP, share a theme.

“When I channel those feelings of isolation and depression into the song, I memorialize it forever. There is a release in that. Having that song means I’ve dealt with that feeling, and it will always have a place in my heart. There is a fanfare to performing it, where you are releasing it, and you don’t have to deal with it now. It’s a unique position, being able to put a feeling into something like a song. As a listener, I hope it makes people feel less alone, to also have a place for their feelings, too,” Boyhtari explains. “Playing these songs live adds another layer to the catharsis. “Being there at a show with other people, there is the communal experience, and the acknowledgment and sharing of that as the artist is very galvanizing.”

Photo: Kat Nijmeddin / another/side

Unsurprisingly, given the band’s name and a t-shirt featuring an image of Leatherface from Tobe Hooper’s classic The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, the band draws inspiration from horror films. Die in Love‘s highlight “Country Girl” contains references to John Carpenter blended into its midwestern narrative, and the video is an homage to 1980s horror movies. “I came up with the concept with my partner, and we worked with Chromatone Studios in Chicago to shoot it. It was filmed where we recorded Die in Love. It was so cool to pay homage to horror movies. It’s one of my favorite things I’ve done for the band,” Boyhtari shares.

One of the most compelling aspects of Greet Death is how Boyhtari and Gavel effortlessly blend everyday details and even humor into their lyrics. “The title of New Hell came from a coworker at one of Logan’s jobs. We find inspiration in the everyday details of life that vex us. The monotony of having to get up and do jobs and other routines, and having depression and anxiety, can fill us with dread. On New Hell and Dixieland, those were the thoughts we were occupied with. I appreciate that about us,” Boyhtari explains.

“There is beauty to be found and stories to be told in the mundane. And being receptive to that keeps me excited about writing songs,” Boyhtari shares. “We both use humor to cope with the tougher parts of life. I love the contrast of adding something sardonic in a song if it doesn’t sound corny. There’s an underlying message of hope that we want to communicate. We can laugh a little at the hard things in life.”

Raja Kumari continues to redefine what modern Indian royalty looks like — blending power, poise, and artistry with every outfit she wears. The rapper and singer, who has lent her unforgettable voice to the title tracks of Jawan and The Bad Boys of Bollywood, celebrates her dual heritage through fashion that fuses Indian craftsmanship with contemporary flair.

Raja Kumari Slays This Festive Season In 5 Royal Looks

The Pink Royal Dream

Raja Kumari radiates timeless charm in a hot pink anarkali intricately detailed with gold zari embroidery and a rich bordered dupatta. The ensemble brings alive the essence of regal femininity while balancing tradition with confidence. Her pearl-studded choker and statement ring perfectly accentuate the grandeur of the look, making her appear every bit the “Daughter of the King.” With subtle makeup and a poised expression, she proves that elegance doesn’t have to be loud — it’s in the details, the grace, and the attitude.

The Green Muse

In a pistachio green anarkali with muted orange stripes, Raja Kumari channels an earthy yet ethnic vibe. The playful parandi braid paired with traditional jhumkas adds a touch of Punjabi spirit, infusing her festive attire with authenticity. The subtle shimmer of the fabric catches the light beautifully, while the colour palette reflects freshness and serenity. It’s a look that celebrates comfort and culture — an ode to the Indian woman who finds beauty in roots and rhythm alike.

The Velvet Majesty

Raja Kumari embraces opulence in a velvet maroon lehenga that whispers of old-world glamour. The rich texture of the fabric, complemented by intricate embroidery, adds a sense of depth and drama. Her traditional jewellery — from ornate chokers to bold bangles — enhances the royal narrative, looking a poetic intensity. With her confident stance and expressive gaze, she brings a performer’s emotion to fashion. This turned her outfit into a visual performance of luxury and soul.

The Noir Statement

In a black embellished saree with sheer sleeves and a sequined border, Raja Kumari channels unapologetic strength. The look is cinematic — blending classic Indian drape with contemporary styling. Her smoky eyes and nude lips accentuate her fierce “La India” persona, symbolising power wrapped in poise. The way the fabric flows with every movement adds mystery and allure, making it not just an outfit but an attitude. Its a perfect metaphor for her bold voice and fearless artistry.

The Ivory Dreamscape

In a white ivory saree that speaks of quiet divinity, Raja Kumari embodies minimalism with a celestial touch. The fluid drape, paired with delicate silver jewellery, exudes ethereal grace and grandeur. Her radiant skin and soft glam amplify the purity of the look, creating a balance between simplicity and regality. It’s a vision of serenity — the kind that feels both modern and timeless, mirroring the soulful calm beneath her energetic exterior.

Raja Kumari’s fashion journey is an ode to her identity — fearless, fluid, and deeply expressive. Every ensemble she wears is a chapter of self-expression. She weaved the rhythm of her Indian-American heritage with the poetry of power, performance, and pride.

Dear Shah Rukh Khan, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Tum Nahi Samjhoge Why I Fell In Love With You 59 Times

Dear Shah Rukh Khan, Here Are 60 Times I Fell In Love With You & One Reason I Hate You; PS. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Tum Nahi Samjhoge!

Shah Rukh Khan, The Brightest Of The Superstars, Turns 59 (Photo Credit – YouTube)

The biggest superstar of the country Shah Rukh Khan celebrates his 60th today with the announcement of his upcoming film King! And I have fallen in love with this new avatar of the superstar. While we eagerly await 2026 to watch this new avatar unfold on screen, we cannot stop celebrating him for being the superstar and the man he is!

One Reason I Hate Shah Rukh Khan!

I haven’t been star-struck enough to ever imagine myself standing outside Mannat to have a glimpse of Shah Rukh Khan. But that does not make me any less of a ‘Jabra Fan’. No, not at all. In fact, I have way too many reasons to love him – in fact, I can narrate 60 exact moments when I fell in love with him! But before that, I have one reason to hate him – SRK made me believe in the non-existent fairy tale love stories. The love stories that speak utter crap at times, but deep down, you root for those stories. He made me a hopeless, delusional romantic at heart and soul!

Shah Rukh Khan is pure love – The man who has made all of us feel special. The man, who is a testimony to the fact that love is magical and the man who makes everyone feel the most special person in this entire Universe, says everyone who meets him.

As the brightest of the stars in the galaxy of Bollywood turns 59 today, here are 59 times I fell in love with him!

1. Pehli Mulaqat

The crush who made me blush. May be!

I first saw him in 1995. On the silver screen, playing Raj to Simran. I was 5, too young to understand love. In fact, too young to understand anything. I just learned to say ABCD, but there was this man whom I was blushing or crushing upon. I don’t know, but probably before ABCD, LOVE came to me!

2. Is This Love?

I was not sure if this was love. But Raj stayed with me in my head. So did Simran. In fact, I sometimes even tried behaving like Simran! Waiting for my Raj, probably Yes, subconsciously, talk about girls and their prince charmings! Phew! Yes, I think I was in love!

3. Hi, Rahul, You Had Me At Aye Haye! Again!

The next Shah Rukh Khan film I had seen was Dil To Pagal Hai. I have great musical acumen, so the film stayed with me for obvious reasons. But the major reason I was glued to it was because Rahul had me at that ‘Aye Haye’!

4. WTF, Anjali Is My Age, But I Love Her Father!

Moving on, I next met Shah Rukh Khan as Rahul again. He had a daughter this time, the same age as mine! Yes, let me process that right now! But I was 8, to consider age differences then. Rahul was mine because in my head, by the end of the film, I thought I was Anjali in some parallel world!

5. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai Rahul…

It took a lot of time to get Rahul out of my head. I was hopelessly in love with him when he sang Kuch Kuch Hota Hai with those perfect dimples and eyes to fall for. Though I was 8, I am sure this was my second love! (My first love was Rishi Kapoor, but we’ll keep that story for some other day, maybe!)

6. Rahul Indeed Is A Cheater – My first little heartbreak!

Now I was in love with Rahul, only that I was not aware. I loved Anjali as well, and I was ready to give Rahul to her as well. But here was my first heartbreak. Kajol got married to Ajay Devgn, and I was too young to dissect the reel and the real. I felt cheated. I was team Rahul-Anjali all along. I had my first little heartbreak when I came to know that Rahul was Shah Rukh Khan and had a wife called Gauri Khan!

7. Thank You, Ekta Kapoor!

With age and maturity, and with cable TV coming off as a boon, I came to hear the word Shah Rukh Khan more often. There was a girl who was in love with her. Sweety – in a show called Hum Paanch, and the difference between an actor in real and his character, came to me naturally, thanks to Ekta Kapoor’s show. After falling for all the Rajs and Rahuls, I was finally in love with Shah Rukh Khan!

8. I Love You, SRK – Again!

I fell in love with SRK again when I was first gifted an audio cassette of Mohabbatein (remember my musical acumen). On a beautiful cassette cover was the most charming man I had ever seen! And there I was, hopelessly in love, all over again!

9. I Am 10 And Officially Hate A Man Called Narayan Shankar

I was 10 when the trailer for Mohabbatein dropped, and it was all over the Television. An era when trailers had just started creating hype. After I watched Mohabbatein’s trailer, I was very mad at a man called Narayan Shankar, and I wanted to make sure that Shah Rukh Khan won this battle anyhow. My Turu Lub at 10… you see!

10. I Am Very Worried About ‘My Mohabbatein’

However, while I rooted for Mohabbatein, I was told that it was a U/A film and my parents were strict. So, while the film came to my life only when Set Max aired it, I was more in love with Shah Rukh Khan. That was my ‘Channa Mereya‘ moment, I guess!

11. I Am Still Team Rahul – Anjali

Very soon, I met Rahul again! With Karan Johar’s K3G. And OMFG! How does someone look that way? He was the perfect man. Lover, Son, Boyfriend, Brother, Husband – everything. Yes, I wanted him, and I was so ready to change my surname to Raichand in my head. Also, in some parallel world, I think I was Anjali again! Please don’t judge. I just realized that this confession account is turning embarrassing with every new anecdote of mine!

12. Tussi Bade Mazakiya Ho!

People fell in love with Rahul Raichand from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham when he appeared in that Pathaani suit. But he had me at that Tussi Mazakiya Ho. That scene made my stomach have tons of butterflies. I have no idea why!

13. Yes, Rahul, Pyaar Dosti Hai! If You Say So!

So, it was the era of CDs, I guess, when I revisited Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, this time at a better age, probably to realize dialogues like Pyaar Dosti Hai. Shah said it, and I believed it. He taught me the basics of love, Probably for the first time.

14. If Silence Speaks Louder Than Words Could Be Any More Romantic!

Ask anyone about the most romantic scenes in Bollywood, and I can vouch for my claims about loving SRK if any list does not include Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’s ‘baarish scene’ with Rahul and Anjali! He was making me fall in love with him once again, but with a realization that someday, we can have our little moments in silence as well.

15. Aman, The New Love Of My Life

A new character, and another time when I fell in love with Shah Rukh Khan. Kal Ho Naa Ho’s Aman was a knight in shining armor; every damsel in distress needed. Or probably, it was an age when girls loved to have their prince charming lead the way! Or maybe I was just an obese teenager who resonated with Delnaaz’s character but secretly wanted to be Naina and date Aman!

58 Times I Fell In Love With Shah Rukh Khan58 Times I Fell In Love With Shah Rukh Khan

16. Why KJO Why? How Can You Let Aman Die?

I guess I cried gallons when Aman died. (Honestly, I still do, though it has been a long time since I watched Kal Ho Naa Ho). But while Aman met Naina on that bridge, I just wanted to be Naina, to some Aman, not understanding the intensity of that scene. It was all about love for me, not having the acumen to understand losses.

17. Thank You, Karan Johar. Thank You Very Very Much!

Breaking this hopping between on-screen and off-screen dilemmas, I fell in love with Shah Rukh Khan, the man, the actor, for the first time, courtesy of Karan Johar. The first time I saw him talking about his personal life. He was suddenly a real person sans the Rahuls and the Amans on that Koffee couch, and I loved him more!

18. Ek Shararat Hone Ko Hai!

After Kal Ho Naa Ho, came an era when Sony or Set Max were officially SRK promoters, it felt. Every day, there was a Shah Rukh Khan film, and every day, I watched some or the other, falling in love with him every single day during that age.

19. Hum To Deewane Ho Gaye Yaar!

For the next few years, Shah Rukh Khan was everywhere, from hosting award shows to TV shows to ad commercials. He was coronated as the King rightfully, and he was making sure his kingdom loves him. So did I!

20. The Man Who Dares To Sing – Checklist. Tick!

Remember, the musical acumen claim of mine? So when I first heard Shah Rukh Khan attempting Apun Bola, Tu Meri Laila in the quirkiest way possible. Well, I was so in love with him that I wanted a man who could sing!

21. Love Which Motivates! I Want To Be Farah Khan To Shah Rukh Khan!

Thanks to Shah Rukh Khan, I was obsessed with films, and interestingly, it developed into an interest and inclination towards filmmaking when I saw Shah Rukh Khan pulling Captain Ram in Main Hoon Na for Farah Khan. While him, singing ‘Kiska Hai Ye Tumko Intezaar’ made me fall for him yet again, this time, I wanted something substantial. I started dreaming of becoming a filmmaker, as masaledar as Farah Khan, to cast Shah Rukh Khan in one of my films!

22. Wo Qaidi Number 786!

I could not take my eyes off Shah Rukh Khan as Veer, sinking in love with him even when he said ‘Main Qaidi Number 786’ in the rugged, old look. The most I fell for him. Check out the scene shared by the official Facebook handle of Yash Raj Films!

23. The Man Who Loves The Roots – Checklist. Yes!

When Swades was released, I was in love with Mohan Bhargava, the man who chose his roots over a luxurious life abroad, trying to discover himself, trying to turn the fate of his village, basically just struggling and trying, editing the IM from the Impossible!

24. The Rebound Love

Post Swades, Shah Rukh Khan changed gears in his career, and since I could never stop loving him, I tried to find love in real life, the rebound, as I felt I needed to move on from SRK and not indulge in Dons and Ra.Ones. So, while the love stayed, I put my foot down though!

25. Mera Pehla Pyaar Adhura Reh Gaya Rifat Bi!

I felt lost when I stepped out of Shah Rukh Khan’s aura and style of filmmaking. I tried a lot of Bollywood men, but my ‘Pehla Pyaar’ was too pure to surrender. So, while, I decided to part ways from his films, for the time being, I fell some more in love revisiting his old classics!

26. I Wanted To Swap Places With Farah Khan!

I once again wanted to swap places with Farah Khan when I saw Shah Rukh Khan dancing to Dhoom Tana in Om Shanti Om. Deepika Padukone might have looked dreamy, but Shah Rukh Khan saying “Itni Shiddat Se Maine Tumhe Paane Ki Khwaaish Ki Hai, Ki Har Zarre Ne Mujhe Tumse Milaane Ki Saazish Ki Hai” was another high.

27. That Glimpse In A Rickshaw!

When Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi was announced, the first glimpse was from Haule Haule, where Shah Rukh Khan unveiled Anushka Sharma sitting in a rickshaw. Something was so pure about this scene that I fell in love with Suri Ji, lighting up lives!

28. Isse Zyada Pyaar Ki Na Mujhe Aadat Hai Naa Zarurat

So I have been loving Shah Rukh Khan since 1995, and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi made me realize, perhaps, ‘Isse zyada pyaar ki naa mujhe aadat hai, naa hi zarurat.’ However, something drastically changed in the technical sense.

29. Shah Rukh Khan – The Superstar

While I drifted apart from Shah Rukh Khan films, I fell in love with Shah Rukh Khan, the man, thanks to all the media channels and the internet taking a boom. I had a lot to explore about this man, and with every new reveal, I was again in love with him.

30. When He Was Pathaan Way Before Pathaan!

I read somewhere that Karan Johar had to face underworld threats during the screening of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and while he was scared to attend the premiere, Shah Rukh Khan, like a true Pathaan, assured Karan Johar’s mother, “I’m a Pathan. Nothing can happen to me, and nothing will happen to your son. He’s like my brother.” A true friend, ready to take a bullet for a friend. How do you not love a man like him?

31. Aww Ek Ladka Aur Ek Ladki Dost Ho Sakte Hain

Now, I was mature enough to segregate on-screen and off-screen romance, and now I was team Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol rather than team Rahul-Anjali. I fell in love with him when he displayed crackling chemistry with her during their interviews, making me realize how genders can never define friendships!

32. The Man Who Respects!

I once came across a picture of Shah Rukh Khan for a magazine cover, sharing a frame with Bollywood Legends Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan. There is something about this picture that made me fall in love with him. This picture has been viral ever since the shoot happened. It was recently shared by moviedbollywood.

33. The Man Who Is A Friend!

Shah Rukh Khan spoke at lengths about his friendships getting sour in Bollywood, and while he blamed himself for them, he openly admitted his issues. There was an emotional integrity in his confession when he said he couldn’t tell people that he loves them! Oh man, I loved him a little more for making it so real, talking about his vulnerabilities.

34. Just A Glimpse & I Love Him Yet Again!

Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan’s ugly fight has been a known story. But they resolved everything, just with a call, maybe coming together for Arpita Khan’s wedding. I had just a little glimpse, and I was drooling over SRK. Here, look at his picture yourself! Also, thanks to fan clubs for keeping a tab on all the possible spottings!

35. When He Endearingly Said, “Ullu Ke Patthey” To Salman Khan!

Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan’s friendship made me fall for the superstar even more. The friendship with no filter. So much so that SRK once schooled Salman, calling him ‘Ullu Ke Patthey’ for not receiving awards. Well, a man who puts friendship above work rivalries. GOLD!

36. The Man Who Is Too Cute To Even Make His ‘Kulla’ Look Cute!

Shah Rukh Khan once had a goofing up session with Abram Khan, which was shared by the YouTube channel of a fan club of SRK. Check out this cute short. How can one not love this man!

37. When I Saw Him Saying ‘Palat,’ Again!

DDLJ was re-released when the film celebrated 1000 weeks, and this time, luckily, I wasn’t 5. I fell in love when Raj said Palat Palat Palat!

38. When He Taught Me “Pyaar Sab Kuch To Nahi Hota?”

Apart from falling for the romance, DDLJ made me realize some things I could understand better now. So I definitely well for a man like Raj who said, “Toh kya hua agar yeh awara tumhe deewano ki tarah pyar karta hai? Toh kya hua? Pyaar sab kuch toh nahi hota na…”

39. When I Saw Him Rolling Out A Carpet For A Legend!

For an award function, I saw Shah Rukh Khan rolling out a red carpet to welcome Dilip Kumar on stage as the legend walked along. Well, talk about chivalry, anyone?

40. When He Admitted He Loves Action Film

Love always sets your partner free. So, while Shah Rukh Khan knew he was the most romantic actor fans fall for, he was honest enough to admit he hated those films and loved action films. Yes, he had so much trust in people who loved him!

41. When I Met Shah Rukh Khan, The Orator!

I met Shah Rukh Khan, the orator, while he delivered a speech at The University of Edinburgh, as he made students believe that anything you dream will turn true since a man like him rules a country as the most romantic hero ever!

42. When I Read His Love Story With Gauri Khan

When I learned about instances from Shah Rukh Khan & Gauri Khan’s Hindu-Muslim wedding, I was overwhelmed. While we are hopelessly in love with him, he is hopelessly in love with Gauri!

43. When He Enjoyed Aamir Khan’s ‘Kutta’ Comment

As we all know, Aamir Khan once blogged, “Shah Rukh mere pair chaat raha” later explaining Shah Rukh to be his caretaker’s dog’s name. Guess what the Pathaan actor replied? He said, as quoted by several tabloids, “I have never bothered about it because I also say a lot of things in fun, and I think I am, also maybe, stressing somebody else out. I don’t get stressed when friends pass comments like this. Actually, I enjoyed it.” How can one not love this calm person in the era of Bigg Boss fights!

44. His Last One With Yash Chopra

Yash Chopra’s last interview with Shah Rukh Khan, where they promoted Jab Taj Hai Jaan, is so endearing that it seems like a father-son conversation. Well, making the right kind of tribute to a man who shaped his career, that is Shah Rukh Khan for you, Ladies and Gentlemen!

45. The Family Man – Living With A Superstar

A documentary that revolved around Shah Rukh Khan, his home, Mannat, and his family was aired. It was so beautifully shot with so many heartwarming revelations that you can’t help but fall in love with SRK.

46. When He Bear-Hugged Sunil Grover

Shah Rukh Khan, along with his Dilwale team, were on TKSS, where Sunil Grover painted himself orange during a stand-up as Dr. Mashoor Gulati. Shah Rukh Khan gave him a bear hug, not getting concerned about getting dirty or his expensive clothes getting soiled in the paint. That is SRK, a true artist who appreciates others.

47. When He Was Teary-Eyed Looking At His Journey In 1 Minute 48 Seconds

It was his appearance during Star Plus’ show Dance+, during which a tribute was given to the actor. He was so teary-eyed and overwhelmed that it was an awww moment to watch him. Check out the clip.

48. Uff The Humour!

Every time Shah Rukh Khan cracks a joke, he hits it spot on. Humor and love definitely go hand in hand!

49. When He Was The Perfect Husband To The Bollywood Wife!

Netflix’s show ‘The Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives’ dropped a bomb when it featured Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, hosting the four regulars on the show. A lot of stories were shared, and while he played the perfect host, the stories will make you fall for him.

50. The Struggler, The Believer, The Achiever, The Ruler

His rags-to-riches story is an inspiration. A man who was an outsider struggled and made his way through this industry only to end up ruling it. Who doesn’t love a successful struggle story!

51. The Adab, and The Adaab!

Every Eid and Birthday, Shah Rukh Khan makes sure to rise to the highest point of his bungalow, offering a glimpse to his fans with the perfect Adaabs. Well, talk about Tehzeeb and Adabs.

52. The Kapil Sharma Story!

Kapil Sharma once gatecrashed a party at Mannat, and while he wanted to escape without getting noticed, Shah Rukh Khan noticed him and welcomed him. Kapil apologized for not being an invitee, and SRK asked him to relax, saying nobody knew he wasn’t invited. The comedian makes sure to tell this story very often!

53. When He Turned His Own Fan But Not A Narcissist!

I turned a Jabra fan when Shah Rukh Khan delivered a Fan. Though the film did not perform well, I fell for him one more time, and by this time, I cannot believe I have reached this count!

54. When He Chose To Maintain Silence

It was a very bad time for Aryan Khan when he was involved in the drugs case. While a lot was said and reported, Shah Rukh Khan chose to maintain a golden silence, letting the court take its route. A man of morals and dignity indeed!

55. When Finally ‘Karan-Arjun’ Aayenge Happened

Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan finally reunited in Pathaan, and this reunion glimpse was enough to make me fall in love with him one more time.

58 Times I Fell In Love With Shah Rukh Khan58 Times I Fell In Love With Shah Rukh Khan

56. When He Roared Like A True Baap!

He roared, ‘Bete Ko Haath Lagaane Se Pehle Baap Se Baat Kar’, in Jawan, settling the score in the most suave manner. Uff!

57. When He Reclaimed His Throne As The King

In 2024, Shah Rukh Khan reclaimed his box office throne as the King with two 1000 crore blockbusters worldwide. And while I celebrate his achievements with a broad smile on my face, his upcoming film King again makes me eager.

58. When He Accepted That National Award With A Smile!

Everyone was enraged when Shah Rukh Khan was finally honored with the National Award for his film Jawan. After so many years! When he could have easily won it for Swades. But being the man he is, he accepted the award like any citizen with utmost grace and humility!

59. When He Went All Out To Promote Aryan Khan’s Debut!

Shah Rukh Khan went all out to promote Aryan Khan’s debut The Ba***ds of Bollywod. Look at him wearing that hand support with the logo of Ba***ds and hosting the event like the coolest dad ever!

60. I Fell In Love With Him, Again RN! Writing This Piece!

I know you won’t believe this, but this is true. I told you I am a hopeless romantic.

PS: Happy Birthday, SRK!
PPS: I Love You!

Aditi Rao served a royal fashion statement in a full black anarkali, featuring a broad embellished border and a detailed dupatta. The actress accessorised her look with heavy earrings and looked straight out of a regal period drama.

Garcelle Beauvais Opens Up About Finding Joy In Grandma Life At 58: ‘My Happiest Times’

@the.jasmine.brand :
Garcelle Beauvais is proving that age only adds more joy to life as she fully embraces her “grandma era.”

The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star and actress told Woman’s World that being a grandmother brings her the greatest happiness.

“My happiest times are when I can spend quality time with them and just hear what they’re talking about with their friends and what they’re into,” she said.

The proud mom of three—Oliver, Jax, and Jaid—now gets to watch her eldest son, Oliver, raise his own family.

“I’m so proud of him. He’s such a great dad. He’s so present,” Beauvais said.

She added that she cherishes every call and visit from her grandkids, especially with her grandson Oliver Jr.

“He has an iPad, so we FaceTime all day long,” she said. “It’s the sweetest thing.”

Grandmas out there, can you relate?
