Maa Inti Bangaram an action thriller

Maa Inti Bangaram was announced in April 2024 to coincide with Samantha’s birthday. But the project couldn’t take off and was delayed due to her multiple assignments. Initially, the action thriller was supposed to be helmed by a debutant, but change in plans prompted Samantha to handover the directorial reigns to filmmaker Nandini Reddy. Maa Inti Bangaram would be their collaboration after Jabardasth (2013) and Oh Baby (2019). Apart from starring, the actress is also producing the film.

On the other hand, Samantha debuted as a producer this year with the film Shubham. The horror comedy was a sleeper hit at the box office; it prompted the actress to further take up production ventures. “I started Tralala Moving Pictures to support content-driven films and new talent. Having put up so much experience, I believe that I can take the production plunge to bring out rooted stories that resonate with the audiences,” said Samantha.

The OG Concert (aka pre-release event) held in Hyderabad on Sunday night was a glitzy affair! Fans of Pawan Kalyan flocked in large numbers to get a glimpse of their favourite actor. What drew everyone’s attention was Pawan’s attire at the event. The actor dressed in his character (Ojhas Gambheera) in the film, and surprised everyone. It’s the first time that he came to a filmy event in such a style.

‘I forgot that I am Deputy Chief Minister’

Pawan Kalyan attended the event in an all-black ensemble, with the costumes signifying his character in They Call Him OG. Fans went berserk when they saw Pawan in such an attire, and his gesture was certainly one of biggest surprises of the night. “I never attended any event in my film costumes, but I did it for the first time only for my fans,” said Pawan. “Director Sujeeth pulled me into the world of OG so much that I forgot that I am Deputy Chief Minister and wielded the sword here at the event,” Pawan joked, adding that he was impressed with Sujeeth’s style of filmmaking. “The way he narrates the story may be short but he executes it effectively. The stylized action sequences is proof enough. Working for the film gave me the kind of high I experienced during Khushi (2001).”

Music composer Thaman and his team lit up the crowd with a spectacular live performance. But the biggest highlight of the evening came when Pawan Kalyan himself sang, Washi Yo Washi track live on stage, much to the fans thrill. “Washi Yo Washi is actually a Japanese haiku. I don’t know Japanese, but I learned the language for this song,” shared the actor. Emraan Hashmi, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Shriya Reddy, Arjun Das and DVV Danayya also attended the event. They Call Him OG is set for a release on September 25, 2025.

bitchy | King Charles is ‘thrilled’ about the Trump visit & ‘very pleased with the global optics’

It’s interesting reading the differences between the British coverage and American coverage of the Trumps’ state visit to the UK. The British political media is mostly happy that it’s over and they seem unsettled by how the Windsors ingratiated themselves so thoroughly with the Trumps. The American coverage is more like “well, Trump wants nothing more than to be a despotic king, so he was really impressed with the dumbass carriage ride, I guess.” Everyone’s pointing out that the Trumps were localized, almost entirely, inside and around Windsor Castle. They really didn’t want the Trumps to interact with any of the locals. Meanwhile, the royalists are trying to make it sound like a good thing that Trump is such a huge fan of Prince William, Kate and King Charles. “Nazi-approved” is such a weird flex for British royalty, you know? From Vanity Fair:

The inclusion of Prince William and Princess Kate at such a high level during Trump’s state visit has been “unusual,” according to royal watchers, with both the Prince and Princess of Wales taking on more high-profile roles. As well as greeting President Trump and the first lady at Windsor, which is standard for state visits, William and Catherine were invited to have a private meeting with the Trumps which a Kensington Palace aide described as “warm and friendly.”

“It seems as though Trump has an eye on the future generation,” says Ingrid Seward, editor of Majesty magazine. “He’s obviously genuinely impressed by William and who wouldn’t be impressed by Kate. She looked incredible. It seems a lot of effort has been made for the Trumps and the Waleses to spend some time together on this trip.”

“I would expect that William and Catherine would have been quite touched and maybe a bit taken aback by so many compliments,” adds Seward. “It’s very flattering to have someone as powerful as Trump praising you and treating you like a very special friend. It’s unusual for the Head of State to be that personal, but it’s Trump’s style. The royals have to deal with so many dullards, Trump is actually really refreshing. He’s outspoken and quite exciting to be around because you don’t know what’s going to happen. Catherine looked quite taken aback when he praised her so personally. She looked a bit embarrassed, but that’s Trump. I think the royals are probably amused and bemused by it all.”

During Wednesday’s dinner in Windsor, Trump made a point about being the only US president in history to be granted the privilege of two state visits and joked about hoping he would be the only one to make King Charles laugh.

A source close to the king told Vanity Fair that Charles has said the state visit “could not be better.” Adds the source, “I understand that His Majesty the King is thrilled about the visit and very pleased with the global optics of it all. The Royal Family really did pull out all the stops.”

[From Vanity Fair]

“The Royal Family really did pull out all the stops” – again, they didn’t have much of a choice. Charles HAD to do all of this, he was outmaneuvered by Keir Starmer and Trump himself. Charles had to roll out the red carpet and entertain a decrepit old white supremacist with shiny objects. The only real choices made for this state visit were about Prince William and Kate. Kate especially didn’t have to be featured so prominently, she didn’t have to agree to sit next to Trump at the banquet (that should have been a job for Camilla), she didn’t have to agree to a solo event with Melania. Choices were also made to push William and Kate aside, especially at the welcoming ceremony, when the Waleses were literally shooed away and kicked off the dais. So… yeah, some interesting things of note happened for hardcore royal-watchers, but the broad strokes of the state visit are that it was “successful” on both sides of the Atlantic.

Pierce Brosnan thrilled to keep working in his 70s

1 September 2025

Pierce Brosnan thinks it is “wonderful” to still be working.

Pierce Brosnan is happy to still be working

The 72-year-old actor has had no qualms about his advancing years because getting older is a “gift” and he’s particularly thankful that he still gets offered new movie roles.

He told The Independent: “I have become [an OAP].

“One grows into one’s years, and that is a gift in itself. It’s wonderful at the age of 72 to have had a career and to still find employment.”

Pierce enjoyed a “glorious summer” working on his latest film The Thursday Murder Club and saw a lot of similarities between himself and his character Red Ron, particularly their willingness to stand up for what they think is right.

He said: “Ron and I are joined at the hip in some respects.

“He has gone out into the trenches fighting for the cause. As an actor, I’ve gone out and done the same in the world of environmental activism. I know what it’s like to go up against ‘the man’, to protest, to be part of the endeavour to do well by your fellow man, your environment, whether it be oceans or old-growth trees.”

The MobLand actor believes the younger generation are not “protesting enough” and while he wishes people were more open to speaking up for what matters, he can understand why it has become more difficult to do so.

He said: “This generation is not protesting enough. It seems to have kind of lost a voice for speaking out against what is happening, whether it be in politics or the environment, or life. But the restrictions now are quite severe. You can feel the manacle of power.

“But nevertheless, I think, if one keeps hope and faith alive, that the pendulum will swing back to an equilibrium of dignity and compassion for each other.”

After playing James Bond in four movies, Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World Is Not Enough (1999) and Die Another Day (2002) , Pierce would love to return to the role.

Asked if his return is what the franchise needs following the departure of Daniel Craig, he said: “Well, that’s a good question.

Richard Osman was saying the same thing, ironically, this morning, and I don’t know Richard that well, but he waxed lyrical about my being an older Bond…

“It’s very possible. They know where to find me.”

Pierce Brosnan is an Irish actor, film producer, and activist.
