“Did you think you could go after my little brother & then leave this place alive?!” GKids revealed another official trailer for upcoming anime Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution, which is getting a full theatrical release in theaters this month. Following the massive box office success of both Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle earlier this year, GKids is giving this anime series a theatrical run. The wildly popular series wrapped the 2nd season in December 2023, awarded “Anime of the Year” at the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, among many other prizes. Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution is the latest theatrical release from the Jujutsu Kaisen property and will feature the debut of all new content from the next Season 3. Animated by the legendary MAPPA studio, and based on the best-selling manga of the same name by Gege Akutami, published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump, first aired in October 2020. It has since become a true global and pop culture phenomenon. This trailer below is for the English dub – both versions will be out in theaters. By connecting the directly linked episodes of the “Shibuya Incident” & “Culling Game” arcs, the story transforms into a new experience crafted specially for the big screen. Dive in.

Yuji Itadori, accompanied by his classmates and other top-tier jujutsu sorcerers, enters the fray in an unprecedented clash of curses — the Shibuya Incident. In the aftermath, 10 colonies in Japan are transformed into dens of curses in a plan orchestrated by Noritoshi Kamo, the most wicked sorcerer in history. As the deadly Culling Game starts, Special Grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu is assigned to carry out Yuji’s execution for his perceived crimes. The desperate confrontation between Satoru Gojo’s two beloved students comes to the big screen with an early preview. “The 4th Film by Quentin Tarantino, as it was meant to be seen.” ⚔️ Lionsgate has revealed the full official trailer for the theatrical release of the long-awaited combined epic Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair. This is the definitive, original version of the story that Quentin Tarantino envisioned over 20 years ago. As everyone knows, Tarantin’s brutal revenge saga Kill Bill was released in two parts: Kill Bill: Volume 1 in 2003 and Kill Bill: Volume 2 in 2004. Uma Thurman stars as The Bride – an assassin left for dead who miraculously survives and goes on a rampaging revenge tour to get back at her old boss and all of his assassins. Both of them are some of my favorite movies ever made. Also starring Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, Gordon Liu as Pai Mei, Michael Parks, and David Carradine as “Bill”. Presented exactly as Tarantino intended, complete with a new, never-before-seen anime sequence, The Whole Blood Affair unites Vol. 1 & 2 into a single, unrated epic. The highly anticipated release marks one of the rare times that the entire epic has been presented as a single, combined film. It has been shown only at the New Beverly Cinema in LA for years – now it will play in many theaters nationwide coming soon.

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair Poster

Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair unites Volume 1 and Volume 2 into a single, unrated epic—presented exactly as he intended, complete with a new, never-before-seen anime sequence. Uma Thurman stars as The Bride, left for dead after her former boss and lover Bill ambushes her wedding rehearsal, shooting her in the head and stealing her unborn child. To exact her vengeance, she must first hunt down the four remaining members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad before confronting Bill himself. With its operatic scope, relentless action, and iconic style, The Whole Bloody Affair stands as one of cinema’s definitive revenge sagas—rarely shown in its complete form, and now presented with a classic intermission. Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is written and directed by acclaimed American filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, his fourth (and fifth) feature film at the time after making Reservoir Dogs (1992), Pulp Fiction (1994), Jackie Brown (1997) before. Based on the character of “The Bride” created by Q&U. Produced by Lawrence Bender. The two films originally opened in October 2003 and April 2004. Lionsgate debuts Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair in theaters nationwide starting December 5th, 2025. Who’s in?

The Whole Bloody Affair’ to Hit Theaters

by jummy84 October 2, 2025
written by jummy84

What is Quentin Tarantino‘s greatest movie? Before you answer, we’re going to wager you haven’t seen it — namely because it’s never been released. Not really. Back in July, IndieWire declared Tarantino’s best film to be “Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair,” which combines both theatrically released parts of “Kill Bill” and was Tarantino’s original vision as one complete movie.

After a handful of screenings at Tarantino’s own Vista Theater, Lionsgate is now giving “The Whole Bloody Affair” a proper release in theaters for the first time since it played Cannes in 2006. “Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair” will open in theaters from Lionsgate on December 5, 2025.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 30: (L-R) Joachim Trier, Elle Fanning, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Renate Reinsve and Stellan Skarsgård attend the "Sentimental Value" Red Carpet during the 63rd New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on September 30, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/WireImage)

The 258-minute long epic will be screened in 70mm and 35mm in select markets, it has a 7½-minute anime sequence that was never in the originally released films, and it removes the cliffhanger ending from Vol. 1 and the recap that began Vol. 2. It’s one truly epic film that if it’s not the best film he’s ever made we wrote is “certainly the most movie” ever made.

“I wrote and directed it as one movie — and I’m so glad to give the fans the chance to see it as one movie,” Tarantino said in a statement. “The best way to see ‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’ is at a movie theater in glorious 70mm or 35mm. Blood and guts on a big screen in all its glory!”

When seeing it all as one piece, we wrote that “Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair” plays like Sergio Leone classics like “Once Upon a Time in the West” or “Once Upon a Time in America” that combine elements of Hollywood genre movies but breathe new life into them.

“While the concept is straightforward, the execution is remarkably complex. Tarantino spends over four hours teasing out every narrative, stylistic, and philosophical possibility raised by the premise before he strips it all back down again at the end and reveals the movie was about something simple — a mother getting back to her daughter — after all,” IndieWire’s review of “The Whole Bloody Affair” reads.

If you haven’t seen “Kill Bill,” it tells the story of The Bride (Uma Thurman), an assassin left for dead at her wedding who seeks revenge on her former boss and lover and needs to hunt down the four remaining members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad. The film stars Uma Thurman, Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, Gordon Liu, Michael Parks, and David Carradine as “Bill.” The film is produced by Lawrence Bender, written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, based on the character of “The Bride” created by Q&U.

The release of “The Whole Bloody Affair” comes as we await more news of whatever Tarantino’s 10th feature film — and presumably last — will be. We will be getting more of Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth in a “Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood” film that David Fincher is directing based on Tarantino’s script. That movie will be released by Netflix. And we’re also soon getting a book series that will explore the “making of” behind all of Tarantino’s movies. He also in a recent podcast interview explained why he moved on from what was meant to be his 10th film, “The Movie Critic.”

Lionsgate also manages the library distribution rights to many of Tarantino’s other films, so it’s possible we get other special re-releases in the future. Those include “Reservoir Dogs,” “Jackie Brown,” “Inglourious Basterds,” “Django Unchained,” “The Hateful Eight,” and “Death Proof.”

The Simpsons Are Coming Back to Theaters with a New Movie in 2027

by jummy84 September 29, 2025
written by jummy84

Disney and 20th Century Studios on Monday announced that “The Simpsons” are coming back to the big screen. An untitled “Simpsons Movie” sequel will hit theaters on July 23, 2027.

“The Simpsons” has already been renewed through its 40th season, which would air in 2028 and 2029, taking the series to well over 800 total episodes by that time. In short, that means this film will not be serving as any sort of send-off situation.

The one and only previous “The Simpsons” movie was released in 2007, so when its sequel arrives in 2027, it will mark a full 20 years in between films. The previous film made $536 million worldwide, and the show in subsequent years has joked that there will never be another “Simpsons” movie. Well, times change.

Gavagai

The surprise announcement Monday morning came out of the yellow blue, and no other details were provided, but surely the main voice cast that has been with the show since 1990 will return. You can never stop “The Simpsons,” but that’s in part because the cast has been largely resilient in its run. In 2013, the longtime voice of Edna Krabappel, Marcia Wallace, passed away, as did the actress Jan Hooks in 2014, who voiced Manjula, among other characters.

“The Simpsons” has unsurprisingly had steadily declining ratings since its ’90s peak and well into the 2000s, and in 2025 hit some new lows, but it’s been a staple of Fox’s larger Animation Domination block on Sundays, and shows like “Family Guy” and “Bob’s Burgers” continue to perform on the Nielsen charts. “The Simpsons” too is a major cash cow for Disney+, providing tons of ancillary streaming value, all while the show pumps out various shorts that are exclusive to streaming. However, the current season order for the show is just for 17 episodes a season rather than the show’s usual 22.

“The Simpsons Movie” in 2007 was directed by David Silverman, a veteran of the show and now its executive producer alongside showrunner Matt Selman. That film saw Springfield become trapped in a giant glass dome to contain an environmental catastrophe brought about by Homer, requiring the Simpson family to leave home and find a way to rescue their town from destruction by the government (all playfully sold to the American public via narration by Tom Hanks).

Avatar: The Way of Water returns to theaters with new Fire and Ash footage. Here’s what to know

James Cameron’s Avatar universe is set to return to the theaters once again with the re-release of Avatar: The Way of Water. The movie will be re-released worldwide on October 3, giving audiences another chance to experience the breathtaking visuals of Pandora on the big screen. This time, however, there is an added incentive: never-before-seen footage from the upcoming sequel, Avatar: Fire and Ash, reported Variety.

‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ is returning to theaters this October(X)

A unique experience for Avatar fans

According to the report, unlike typical re-releases that feature a single teaser, The Way of Water screenings will each feature one of three exclusive clips from Avatar: Fire and Ash. That means fans who want to see all of the new footage may have to attend multiple screenings, making the re-release an event designed for die-hard enthusiasts.

Each clip, as per Variety report, will reveal a different aspect of Pandora’s story, offering fresh insight into the challenges awaiting Jake Sully, Neytiri, and their family in the next chapter.

The legacy of Avatar

At over $2.9 billion worldwide, James Cameron’s 2009 original Avatar is still the highest-grossing movie ever. With a $2.3 billion box office total, its 2022 sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, is currently the third highest-grossing film of all time, behind only its predecessor and Avengers: Endgame.

By presenting Jake and Neytiri’s kids, introducing new Na’vi clans, and pushing the limits of visual effects with innovative underwater scenes, the second movie broadened the scope of Pandora. The tragic death of Jake’s oldest son, Neteyam, was part of the story’s emotional climax, which left viewers wanting more, Collider reported.

What we know about Avatar: Fire and Ash

While Jake and Neytiri begin their life with their family in a new Na’vi group called the Ash People, a violent conflict could run high, throwing Pandora into uncertainty: visual marvels and deep emotional engagement seem to be the focus of this film.

Actors Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, and Edie Falco return to challenge new spells by Oona Chaplin and David Thewlis. The film is directed by James Cameron and jointly produced by Jon Landau and Cameron himself, with an official release date set for December 19 worldwide.

High expectations for the sequel

Due to the colossal success of the first two films, the expectations for Fire and Ash are sky-high. The strategy of sneak peeks is Disney’s way of ensuring that the excitement builds and stays up until the release. The saga, backed with advanced technology, is in itself the living definition of a cinematic spectacle underdefined by Cameron.

FAQs:

Q1: When will Avatar: The Way of Water return to theatres?

It will be re-released worldwide on October 3, 2025.

Q2: What is special about this re-release?

Each screening includes a never-before-seen clip from Avatar: Fire and Ash. There are three different clips in total, but each screening will feature only one.

Q3: When will Avatar: Fire and Ash release?

The film is set to premiere worldwide on December 19, 2025.

Experience Mitski’s Concert Film ‘The Land’ in Theaters This Fall

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Mitski: The Land, filmed over three nights at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre, screens in theaters for a limited time

Bummed you missed out on Mitski‘s last tour? You can catch it on the big screen this fall. Mitski: The Land will hit theaters for a limited time on Oct. 22.

Filmed over three nights at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre exactly one year ago (Sept. 6, 7, and 8), the shows were in support of Mitski’s last album, 2023’s The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We. The set list contained tracks from the LP — including her first-ever hit, “My Love Mine All Mine” — and highlights across her discography.

Trending Stories

Mitski has always been known for her magnetizing stage presence, featuring sharp, synchronized dance movements. The 2024 tour featured a seven-piece band, with choreography by Monica Mirabile and stage design by Andi Watson. The film was directed by Grant James, and mixed by her longtime producer, Patrick Hyland. Tickets go on sale Monday, Sept. 15.

In her 2021 Rolling Stone cover story, Mitski spoke to us about her approach to her beloved concerts. “I guess fame is relative,” she said. “There’s Taylor Swift fame and then there’s local-DIY-scene fame. The real struggle for me in getting bigger is, how do I maintain integrity in the performance? How do I make sure the audience experience is still intimate and emotional in this 8,000-cap room? How do I not resort to flashy pyrotechnics onstage? Because I don’t want my show to be about that — I want people to enter into a place with me and have an experience, and then leave having experienced something important.”

The Dark Crystal Returning to Theaters

by jummy84 August 27, 2025
written by jummy84

The Dark Crystal, one of the most inventive films to come from The Jim Henson Company (and by far the most terrifying), will return to theaters for a limited run October 12th and 13th.

Directed by Henson and Frank Oz, the Muppet fantasy epic traces a clash between the brutal Skeksis and the gentle Mystics, with Gelflings like Jen and Kira stuck in the middle. There are horrifying crab creatures, pulse-pounding chase scenes, and more than one on-screen murder — perfect for expanding a young child’s mind while funding the lifestyle of their future therapist.

Tickets for the two-day run are available via Fathom Entertainment.
