Billy Idol Teams Up with Composer J. Ralph on “Dying to Live”

by jummy84 November 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Billy Idol has collaborated with composer J. Ralph on the song “Dying to Live,” as featured in the documentary Billy Idol Should Be Dead. The cinematic tune shares lyrics with the title track to Idol’s most recent studio LP, Dream Into It, but was actually written and recorded first, prior to the rock version heard on the album.

The song features symphonic elements, and serves as the soundtrack to the coda sequence of the film, which debuted earlier this year at the Tribeca Festival, and will hit streaming services beginning in early 2026. A music video can be seen below.

“It’s quite something watching a documentary about your own life,” stated Idol. “Seeing the landscape of my story all laid out inspired me to want to write a song for the end of the film that brings together what I saw in the film; all the strands of my life really. It was thrilling to work together with J. Ralph. Symphonic music has a unique cinematic authenticity, we felt this was essential to capturing the range of emotions the climactic moment of the film called for.”

Event engagement is broken. Here’s how the best teams are fixing it

by jummy84 November 11, 2025
written by jummy84

Let’s call it out: most event engagement strategies are stuck in the past.

Teams are running more activations – bigger booths, flashier tech, more budget – but engagement is flat. Attendees ghost you. Sponsors desire more ROI for longer periods. Your team is drowning in five tools that don’t talk to each other.

Sound familiar? You’re not alone. Most event pros sit at Level 1 or 2, running disconnected campaigns that reset after every event and generate limited reusable data.

The good news is there’s a playbook that’s already working for the world’s best event teams. And it’s not about spending more. It’s about building systems, not one-offs.

That’s why Komo teamed up with Event Tech Live to show what’s possible when you replace campaign chaos with the Engagement OS.

What great engagement actually looks like

Here’s what separates the winners: they’ve stopped resetting. Instead, they’re running always-on engagement systems that compound across every touchpoint.

The proof? Results from leading B2B organizers, B2C brands, and event venues:

  • New York Comic Con: 1,058% more engagement and 450% more impressions year-over-year, part of ReedPop’s 1.66M engagements across 7 events with 90% average engagement rates
  • Association of National Advertisers (ANA): 5.9 average user entries with 20.5% virality rate
  • SEAT Conference: “Partnering with Komo for the SEAT event allowed us to find fun and engaging ways to interact with the audience. We were able to get greater insights as to what they were interested in doing at our event. Use of the platform and the experience that the members at Komo brought were invaluable in setting these things up.”
  • AEG – The O2 Arena has leveraged the platform to reduce campaign production time while creating more personalized interactions: “As the world’s leading destination for live entertainment, leisure, and retail, the launch of Komo AI (Kai) has been invaluable. It has dramatically reduced the time our in-house team spends building personalized campaigns, while enabling us to create more campaigns, more often. With Komo’s Engagement OS and Kai, we’re engaging audiences at a deeper level and gaining richer insights faster than ever before.”

These teams are running engagement like an operating system: unified, always-on, and built to learn from every interaction.

How they’re doing it

Komo’s Engagement OS is built to replace one-off campaigns with continuous engagement loops. It’s not a gamification plugin or loyalty bolt-on. It’s the foundation.

Here’s what makes it different:

Speed to impact: Launch interactive campaigns without dev dependencies. Komo’s AI co-pilot, Kai, helps event teams go from idea to live activation in under 10 minutes, then automatically optimizes based on real-time participation patterns.

Always-on engagement: Stop starting from scratch. The OS connects engagement before, during, and after your events, turning moments into ongoing relationships that build loyalty and pipeline.

Participation-powered insight: Every activation captures zero-party data that attendees willingly share. No dull forms or surveys. Just real-time insights that show exactly what resonates and why.

See Komo in action at Event Tech Live London 2025

Across the show floor, you’ll experience Komo in action:

  • Polls and Live Trivia: See 73%+ participation in real-time.
  • Gamified experiences: Capture qualified leads while rewarding participation.
  • QR-activated experiences at exhibitor booths: Watch how instant engagement creates sponsor value.
  • Digital rewards: Experience gamified journeys that drive behavior.
  • Live data feeds: See engagement metrics update as attendees interact across the venue.

This isn’t a demo. It’s Event Tech Live practicing what they preach: engagement as a system, not a one-off.

Where are you on the Engagement Maturity Curve?

Not every team is ready for Level 4. Most are still at Level 1 (unstructured campaigns) or Level 2 (repeatable activations). That’s okay, progress happens in stages, not leaps.

Komo’s Engagement Maturity Model helps event professionals understand where they are today and what’s required to reach the next level. Whether you’re moving from manual to automated, episodic to always-on, or siloed to integrated, there’s a clear path forward.

Campaigns don’t scale. Systems do.

The event professionals winning in 2025 aren’t running more campaigns. They’re building engagement systems that compound across every touchpoint, every event, every moment that matters.

If you’re ready to stop resetting and start scaling, let’s talk. Visit Komo at ETL London 2025 (booth E10) or book a 30-minute discovery workshop.

Because the future of events isn’t about who shows up. It’s about who stays engaged.

Charli XCX Teams Up With John Cale in Trippy ‘House’ Video: Watch

by jummy84 November 10, 2025
written by jummy84

Charli XCX has teamed up with Velvet Underground’s John Cale to create a trippy video for their new collaborative song “House,” which will appear on the soundtrack to director Emerald Fennell’s upcoming big screen adaptation of Wuthering Heights.

The idea was sparked a few years back when Charli saw the the 2021 Todd Haynes documentary The Velvet Underground. “One thing that stuck with me was how John Cale described a key sonic requirement of the Velvet Underground,” she wrote in a note to fans. “That any song had to be both ‘elegant and brutal.’ I got really stuck on that phrase. I write it down on my notes app and would pull it up from time to time and think about what he meant.”

“When working on music for this film, ‘elegant and brutal’ was a phrase I kept coming back to,” she continued. “One day whilst on tour in Austin, Finn [Keane] and I went to the studio and wrote the bones for a song that would eventually become House. When the summer ended I was still ruminating on John’s words. So I decided to reach out to him to get his opinion on the songs that his phrase had so deeply inspired, but also to see whether he might want to collaborate on any.”

They wound up chatting on the phone, and Charli sent over several songs, including her initial take on “House.” “We spoke about the idea of a poem,” she added. “He recorded something and sent it to me. Something that only John could do. And it was… well, it made my cry.”

The unsettling video shows Charli and Cale isolated together in a remote house, creating the vibe of a horror movie. It includes a spoken-word poem by Cale. “Can I speak to you privately for a moment,” he says. “I just want to explain/Explain the circumstances I find myself in/What and who I really am/I’m a prisoner/To live for eternity.”

“House” is one of several Charli XCX songs that will appear on the Wuthering Heights soundtrack. The project began a year ago when Fennell reached out to see if she’d write a single song for the movie, which stars Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi.

Trending Stories

“I read the script and immediately felt inspired so Finn Keane and I began working on not just one but many songs that we felt connected to the world she was creating,” Charli wrote. “After being so in the depths of my previous album I was excited to escape into something entirely new, entirely opposite. When I think of Wuthering Heights I think of many things. I think of passion and pain. I think of England. I think of the Moors, I think of the mud and the cold. I think of determination and grit.”

The Wuthering Heights soundtrack is one of many projects that Charli XCX has in the works. She’s also star to star in Daniel Goldhaber’s Faces of Death, Gregg Araki’s I Want Your Sex, Cathy Yan’s The Gallerist, Julia Jackman’s 100 Nights of Hero, Romain Gavras’s Sacrifice, and Pete Ohs’s Erupcja.

jasmine.4.t’s teams up with Jacob Alon for ‘Find Ur Ppl’ from charity compilation for ‘The Ally Coalition’

by jummy84 October 30, 2025
written by jummy84

jasmine.4.t’s has teamed up with Jacob Alon for ‘Find Ur Ppl’ from charity compilation for ‘The Ally Coalition’ – listen below.

The forthcoming charity compilation, ‘All Things Go: 10 Years’, today (October 29) revealed jasmine.4.t’s ‘Find Ur Ppl’ featuring Alon. The full compilation will be released November 7th via Futures with all proceeds benefitting The Ally Coalition.

The compilation also includes Kesha, Maren Morris, Rachel Chinouriri, Medium Build, Bartees Strange, Maude Latour, Joy Oladokun, EMEI and more. It will be available digitally and on limited edition vinyl + CD. You can pre-order here.

Speaking about the new track, jasmine.4.t said: “‘Find Ur Ppl’ is a song I wrote a few years ago, early in my transition. This was when I first moved to Manchester and met my community, including my best friend Yulia Trot aka YBT, who put me up on her sofa and supported me in presenting as a woman for the first time.”

Jasmine.4.t also went on to reveal that Yulia is currently being held in prison as one of the Filton 24, who are alleged to have broken into an Israeli weapons factory in the UK.

Jasmine.4.t continued: “We recorded Find Ur Ppl originally for You Are The Morning (YBT Deluxe), an extended version of my debut record which is dedicated to Yulia. It means the world to me to release this new version of the song which features my friend (and recent Mercury Prize nominee!) Jacob Alon, who is a member of the queer community and very much one of the people I was hoping to find when I wrote this song.

“Their voice and their writing is so beautiful and I have been lucky enough to catch them live several times this year. Their voice brings so much to this song, and collaborating with them was really a dream come true.”

You can listen to it here:

Speaking to NME earlier this year, Jasmine.4.t – real name Jasmine Cruickshank – opened up about her love of Boygenius, signing to Phoebe Bridgers’ record label and touring with Lucy Dacus.

“There were so many incredible moments of watching how much they love and respect each other,” Cruickshank recalled of Boygenius. “I want to make music for the rest of my life with those guys. I fucking love those guys so much. They all brought such incredibly different things to the studio. Phoebe is so incredible at harmony and the craft of a song, the performance and was giving me such good notes.

“Lucy has the biggest impact on the editing of the lyrics and helping with the performance. Julien [Baker] brought so much with the guitar and I could never do that by myself.”

Alon meanwhile, spoke to NME recently about their Mercury Prize nomination, as well as the magical world of debut album ‘In Limerance’, working with Dan Carey, and their close friendship with Kae Tempest.

The Scottish art-folk star caught up with NME on the red carpet at the announcement of the Mercury Prize 2025 shortlist last month (Wednesday September 10).

“It packs a punch,” Alon told NME of their record. “There’s this thing called The Dictionary Of Obscure Sorrows, and it has these words that describe these very specific feelings. This isn’t in there, but it feels akin to that vibe. It describes this thing that I’ve done my whole life: the way that I’ve longed for versions of people that aren’t real, I’ve become infatuated and obsessed with the idea of someone rather than seeing them for who they truly are.

“It can become a sickness and take over your every waking thought. It traps you from really knowing someone and experiencing love.”

Alon is on tour throughout the autumn and winter. Visit here for tickets and more information.

Lululemon Teams Up With the NFL for First-Ever 32-Team Apparel Line

Lululemon Athletica has officially entered the licensed-fan apparel game by teaming up with the NFL to launch a collection covering all 32 teams.

Set to debut on October 28, the collection will span both men’s and women’s clothing and accessories. Items will feature team logos and draw from Lululemon’s iconic product lines—such as the men’s “Steady State” and the women’s “Define,” “Scuba,” and “Align” styles.

The rollout will happen across multiple channels: online via the NFL Shop and Fanatics platforms, in team retail stores, and internationally through localized NFL Shop sites.

For Lululemon, this marks its first foray into officially licensed NFL merchandise—moving beyond its usual yoga/athleisure stronghold and into more fan-centric sportswear.

The NFL views it as a way to bring fresher, higher-end apparel options to fans—beyond traditional jerseys—to capture a broader lifestyle-wear audience.

Spotify Teams With Netflix on Podcasts, Touts Audiobook Listener Gains

by jummy84 October 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Spotify has announced two new developments in its push into non-music content: a video podcast deal with Netflix and statistics that show subscribers are quickly adopting audiobooks on the platform.

Starting in the U.S. in early 2026, podcasts from Spotify Studios and The Ringer, a media company founded by sportswriter Bill Simmons that was acquired by Spotify in 2020, will be available on Netflix, the streaming giant announced Tuesday (Oct. 14). Among the shows that will be available at the partnership’s onset are The Bill Simmons Show, the basketball oriented The Zach Lowe Show, true crime titles Conspiracy Theories and Serial Killers, and pop culture podcasts The Rewatchables and The Big Picture.

For Netflix, video podcasts provide an additional way to reach viewers, explained Lauren Smith, Netflix vp of content licensing and programming strategy. “As video podcasts continue to grow in popularity, our partnership with Spotify allows us to bring full video versions of these top shows to both Netflix and Spotify audiences,” she said in a statement. “From pop culture and lifestyle to true crime and sports, this curated selection of video podcasts adds fresh voices and new perspectives to Netflix, making our entertainment lineup more exciting than ever.”

Spotify also announced a slew of audiobook statistics that show the company is making progress in its ambition to advance the size of the audiobook market. Of subscribers who are eligible to stream audiobooks on Spotify, more than half have done so, the company revealed Tuesday. Audiobook listeners are up 36% year over year, and listening hours are up 37% year over year.

Spotify made audiobooks available for streaming in the U.K. and Australia in October 2023, followed by the U.S. a month later. Subscribers to the Premier tier are given 15 hours of listening per month and can purchase additional time. Audiobooks are currently available to Spotify subscribers in 14 countries, including the U.S., U.K., Canada, Germany, France, Australia, the Netherlands and Ireland. Approximately 500,000 titles are available in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand.

In the year since audiobooks launched in France and Benelux, French and Dutch listening hours are up 10% month over month, Spotify reported. In the six months since launching in Germany, audiobook listeners are up over 9% month over month.

Spotify entered the audiobook market with the intention of taking on the entrenched leader in the market, Amazon-owned Audible. The goal, CEO Daniel Ek explained in Feb. 2024, is to “grow the pie for the publishing industry and expand the interest in audiobooks to an entirely new set of listeners.” That required raising prices, however, and Spotify increased its monthly fee in the U.S. to $11.99 for individuals in June 2024. Audiobook-free options are available for existing Spotify subscribers for $10.99 per month.

Audiobooks can also help Spotify’s bottom line. Ek said in 2023 that offering the long-form audio content “will increase engagement on Spotify, which will then…reduce churn,” or the percentage of subscribers who lapse in a month. Churn results in additional costs to re-acquire the lapsed subscribers and customer acquisition costs to recruit new subscribers. As Billboard reported in 2021, Citi analyst Jason Bazinet estimated that Spotify’s churn rate fell from 7.7% in 2015 to 4% in 2020, due primarily to family plans that kept people subscribing longer and raised customers’ lifetime value.

‘They are squarely blaming her’: Fans shocked at Kalki 2898 AD team’s harsh announcement about Deepika Padukone’s exit

Published on: Sept 18, 2025 12:16 pm IST

Deepika Padukone has exited the sequel of Kalki 2898 AD, with Vyjayanti Movies announcing the decision in a harsh tweet blaming her lack of commitment.

A film’s cast list often changes over the course of pre-production. Actors walk in and out of projects all the time, but when bigger names are involved, such details are dealt with a lot of gentleness. But Vyjayanti Movies doesn’t seem to be in the mood for love this time.

Deepika Padukone in a still from Kalki 2898 AD.

A harsh announcement about Kalki and Deepika

On Thursday, in a rather harsh post, the Telugu production house announced that Deepika Padukone has exited the sequel of their hit movie Kalki 2898 AD. Not only did they announce it without a joint statement with her, they also seemingly accused her of not being committed enough to the movie.

“This is to officially announce that @deepikapadukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel of #Kalki2898AD. After careful consideration, We have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like @Kalki2898AD deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future works,” they wrote.

Reddit is shocked

People on the internet are shocked about the harshness of the tweet. “Wow, this is shocking . They seem to be pissed,” read a post on Reddit. “They not only announced that she will not be a part of the movie, they are squarely blaming her for the exit, in very professional language. Her management is sleeping because this news could have been announced in a better, joint manner that would have been cordial to both parties.”

Another wrote, “Damn they are openly talking about her commitment. Looks like we have another Vanga-like fiasco here.” A person said, “Looks like some really bad time. Nevertheless we don’t know the reason so I just hope that if things aren’t good they getter better soon. And I hope people stop attacking her for no reason.”

This comes just a few months after Deepika was also let go from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, also co-starring her Kalki cos-star Prabhas. Speculation arose that she had demanded an 8-hour workday, a share in the film’s profits, and requested not to deliver her dialogues in Telugu—conditions which allegedly did not sit well with the filmmaker. She was later replaced by Triptii Dimri.
