Is Taylor Swift Finally Paying Attention to the Fashion Industry's Buzziest Indie Designers?

Taylor Swift may have just worn her most in-the-know fashion look yet.  While appearing on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” in New York City on Wednesday evening, the singer and songwriter stepped into a two-piece look by Wiederhoeft, a New York-based independent brand known for its impressive …

bitchy | Taylor Swift stepped out in New York, she went to steakhouse Eighty Six

Taylor Swift stepped out last night in NYC, her first “pap stroll” outing in months. She went to the Eighty Six, a steakhouse. Taylor really went underground following the Super Bowl, and while she has been out in New York this year, she’s only been photographed very rarely. Taylor’s sending a message here: I’m back! Talk about me! Her skirt is way too short, btw. But obviously, she loves autumn. She loves boots and cute sweaters. We’ll be seeing more of her like this in the coming months.

Meanwhile, Taylor released The Life of a Showgirl last Friday, to mixed reviews and a fanbase which seems to be growing more disenchanted by the year. There are discussions about Taylor ripping off other artists with little to no credit. There are discussions about Taylor’s problematic behavior towards other women in the industry. There’s the “Opalite” discourse about the imagery and message she uses to discuss Travis Kelce’s Black ex-girlfriends (specifically Kayla Nicole). There’s also a discourse about Taylor’s romantic history, especially when she was an adult woman literally dating a kid in high school (Conor Kennedy). Anyway, you get the idea – a lot of people are talking a lot about Taylor and her album, and there are ongoing critiques of the music and Taylor herself. Well, Taylor welcomes those discussions! At least that’s what she claimed on The Zane Lowe Show:

Taylor Swift shared her candid thoughts on the passionate range of reactions to “The Life of a Showgirl.” She thanked the fans who “immediately” got the album’s emotion and themes — but she also had words for the critics. While appearing on Apple Music’s “The Zane Lowe Show,” Swift said she “welcomes the chaos” seeing that it’s a “rule of show business”: “If it’s the first week of my album release and you are saying either my name or my album title, you’re helping. And art, I have a lot of respect for people’s subjective opinions on art. I’m not the art police. It’s like everybody is allowed to feel exactly how they want. And what our goal is as entertainers is to be a mirror.”

The record has received mixed reviews from critics with some praise for its unabashed, joyful sound, while others criticize the lyrics for their perceived lack of depth.

“Oftentimes, an album is a really, really wild way to look at yourself,” Swift told Lowe. “What you’re going through in your life is going to affect whether you relate to the music that I’m putting out at any given moment.”

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter also made a revealing statement about what empowers her to make music: “We’re doing this thing for keeps. I have such an eye on legacy when I’m making my music. I know what I made. I know I adore it, and I know that on the theme of what the Showgirl is, all of this is part of it.”

[From Variety]

Taylor talking about “legacy” is wild. I expect an artist like Beyonce to talk about her artistic legacy, and working on legacy projects (which is exactly what the Renaissance trilogy is, a transcendent legacy project). But Taylor? She’s a 35-year-old who is still singing about high school and her fiance’s redwood dong. She’s still scrapping with pop girls and gaming the charts with variants (she’s released like 20 variants already, in like the past 72 hours). But she’s right, if people are talking about her, that’s good for sales and it means her promotion is working. It’s just that I don’t believe that Taylor has a que-sera-sera attitude about people critiquing her music or her celebrity persona.

Taylor Swift’s Late Night With Seth Meyers Highlights

The opening song on Taylor Swift‘s The Life of a Showgirl references the character Ophelia from William Shakespeare‘s Hamlet, who faces a tragic fate.

According to the song’s lyrics, Taylor “might’ve drowned in the melancholy” if she hadn’t been saved by her true love.

“I heard you calling / On the megaphone,” Taylor sings. “You wanna see me all alone.”

The lyrics appear to be a nod to Travis Kelce calling Taylor out on his New Heights podcast for not meeting him at her Eras Tour, which is how their romance began.

“I swore loyalty to me, myself and I,” the lyrics continue. “Right before you lit my sky up.”

Before meeting Travis, Taylor was fresh off a breakup from Matty Healy, having declared herself one of the “independent girlies” in July 2023.

But after Travis went to her concert in Kansas City that same month, sparks began to fly.

Now, Taylor’s fiancé is even in on her Easter egg game, teasing “The Fate of Ophelia” lyrics on Instagram back in July. (Had some adventures this offseason,” he captioned pics with Taylor, adding, “Kept it [100].”)

How does that connect to Taylor’s song? Well, as the lyrics go, “You dug me out of my grave and saved my heart from the fate of Ophelia / Keep it one hundred.”

Taylor Swift on Travis Kelce Mixup With Hugh Grant’s Wife, Greta Gerwig

by jummy84 October 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Taylor Swift spilled the tea on how a case of mistaken identity during her Eras Tour led to her fiancé, Travis Kelce, meeting Greta Gerwig… eventually.

While stopping by Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday to promote her record-breaking album The Life of a Showgirl, Swift recalled how Kelce met a slew of celebrities at the VIP tent during her trek’s stop in London last year. Swift said that after Kelce gushed about hanging out with Hugh Grant, his wife Anna Eberstein, Tom Cruise, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, and more, she noticed that he had yet to mention Gerwig — the Kansas City Chiefs player’s “favorite director.”

Kelce then said that he had told the Barbie director an “I’m just Ken” joke that didn’t seem to go over too well, puzzling Swift, who at first chalked up the awkward meet-and-greet to Gerwig having heard the joke one too many times. Continuing to recount the evening, Kelce mentioned how Gerwig and Grant danced closely together throughout the show, had all these “inside jokes,” and appeared to be “soulmates.” Swift understandably reacted at the time by exclaiming, “The tea is crazy tonight, Travis!”

Soon after, however, videos of Kelce dancing with Gerwig began to pop up online, prompting Swift to “do the math.” When the pop star showed Kelce the videos and he replied, “That’s not Greta,” it clicked: he had mistaken Grant’s wife for the famed director.

“The bad news, for you, is he has face blindness,” Meyers concluded after Swift told her story. “The good news is, he can recognize true love. So, at least he saw soulmates.”

The night appeared to be a memorable one for Grant as well, who penned a note on X to Swift that said, “Dear @taylorswift13 , You have an incredible show, an amazing and v hospitable team and excellent if gigantic boyfriend (#tequilashots.). Thanks so much from one ageing London boy, wife and thrilled 8 year old #halfgirlhalfbracelet.”

NBC to Air Extended Taylor Swift ‘Tonight Show’ Episode

by jummy84 October 9, 2025
written by jummy84

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is set to launch a special episode this Friday — “Taylor Swift (Extended Cut)” — featuring more moments from Swift’s late night interview.

The pop star stopped by Monday’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Swift, who was all blinged out in a sparkly silver dress, covered a variety of topics, including her latest album The Life of Showgirl, released on Oct. 3. Friday’s special episode will feature additional, not-yet-released moments from Fallon’s interview with Swift.

Swift chatted about her recent engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Fallon joked he was being “blinded” by Swift’s ring, which she showed off to the host and camera. She joked that going on Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, was a “distraction” to not notice that the backyard was being decorated for the big proposal.

Later, in a game about the many rumors that swirl around the pop star, she and Fallon put some things to bed. Swift clarified through the game that she didn’t tell pal Selena Gomez that she “beat” Swift to the altar during a speech at Gomez’s recent wedding. “I did not make it about me,” she told Fallon.

She also addressed the speculation that she turned down the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime show because of a dispute over owning the footage. “No,” she told Fallon when he asked her if that’s why she didn’t want to take on the job, adding that Jay-Z and his team have always been good to her.

Monday’s show marked Swift’s seventh appearance on the show over the years. While the appearance was strictly billed as an interview — rock band The Format was the episode’s musical guest — the singer and Fallon played tracks off of Showgirl and broke them down. The crowd sang along to “Opalite,” “Wood” and “The Fate of Ophelia.” Swift cheekily told the crowd that “Wood,” her horniest track to date, started off innocent.

Swift’s 12th album, produced and written by the singer herself along with hitmakers Max Martin and Shellback, was thought to be a return to some of her most standard pop albums, like 1989, but it instead managed to be the love child of Evermore and Midnights. The album sold 2.7 million copies on release day (Oct. 3), making that day alone her largest week ever, according to Luminate via Billboard.

In addition to the album, Swift released a cinematic companion over the weekend, which included a chance to see the music video for the album’s lead single, The Fate of Ophelia, before its online release Sunday. Swift directed the video, which was filmed by frequent collaborator and Oscar-nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto, and features choreography from famed choreographer Mandy Moore, who worked on the singer’s Eras tour.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon: Taylor Swift (Extended Cut) is set to air on NBC this Friday, Oct. 10 at 11:35 p.m. local time and streams the next day on Peacock.

Taylor Swift’s ‘Eldest Daughter’ Lyrics Are Being Rewritten by Eldest Daughters

Taylor Swift’s ‘Eldest Daughter’ Lyrics Are Being Rewritten by Eldest Daughters

by jummy84 October 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Not every eldest daughter felt totally seen by Taylor Swift’s “Eldest Daughter,” a track off of The Life of a Showgirl. In fact, disappointed eldest daughters have begun rewriting the lyrics to the song themselves and sharing their versions on TikTok—which is a very eldest daughter thing to do.

Part of the problem seems to be that Swift’s lyrics focus more on how she is perceived by strangers on the internet than how she is perceived by family as the eldest daughter. In the first verse, Swift sings, “Everybody’s so punk on the internet,” and “Everybody’s cutthroat in the comments / Every single hot take is cold as ice.” In the chorus, Swift sings, “But I’m not a bad bitch / And this isn’t savage.” In fact, Swift only uses the phrase “eldest daughter” once in the whole song, when she says, “Every eldest daughter / Was the first lamb to the slaughter.” This is probably the track’s most poignant lyric, but it is immediately undone by the following line: “So we all dressed up as wolves and we looked fire.”

Unsurprisingly, many of the eldest daughters who listened to the song felt like the eldest-daughter experience could have been more movingly described—and so took it upon themselves to fix the problem. One such creator focused on small changes, singing in her version, “We all dressed up as wolves just to survive,” and changing the “bad bitch” line to “I’m not a bad kid / Just got a habit.”

Others made even bigger changes to the chorus. One sang, “I’m not an actress / I’ll burst into ashes.” Another creator’s version goes, “I’ve tried to bury / This pain that I’ve carried.” Yet another sings, “But I’m not as strong as / The narrative’s plot plans.” Each of these versions keeps to Swift’s general theme of vulnerability, but with slightly more sophisticated language that brings the song back to the titular “eldest daughter.”

Most of the new iterations keep some version of Swift’s original chorus, in which she says, “Never gonna let you down.” But one creator decided instead to reference an earlier Swift era, singing, “They’re moving the goal posts / Can’t tell which one hurts most / That I’m back on the bleachers again / Or that they don’t trust me with my pen.” One of the most popular rewrites has a chorus focused on the romantic element of the song, singing, “My heart has been ravaged / Still I’d let you have it.”

The lyrical changes aren’t even necessarily personal to the creators (although some of them definitely are). For the most part, these rewrites are just trying to clarify Swift’s original message. Some changes smooth some of the more awkward turns of phrase. For instance, many people tweaked the original, “I have been afflicted / by terminal uniqueness.” In the other new versions, “So many traitors / Smooth operators” becomes “So many traitors / Promised me favors,” or, “Sudden displacement / High expectations.”

“How could this ever happen to me?” Hulu has revealed the full official trailer for a series titled All’s Fair, another new Ryan Murphy creation ready to rattle some cages. Ready to debut streaming in November this fall. The brash and opulent series follows a successful divorce lawyer and the owner of an all-female law firm in Los Angeles meant to help support women. A team of female divorce attorneys leave a male-dominated firm to open up their own powerhouse practice. Fierce, brilliant and emotionally complicated, they navigate high-stakes breakups, scandalous secrets and shifting allegiances—both in the courtroom and within their own ranks. The new series stars Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Teyana Taylor (also starring in PTA’s One Battle After Another as Perfidia Beverly Hills), Matthew Noszka, with Sarah Paulson and Glenn Close. That final snappy reply from her at the table is pretty spicy. This might actually be good? Who’s watching?

Travis Kelce Reacts to Taylor Swift’s Explicit ‘Wood’ Song

by jummy84 October 9, 2025

Jason Kelce grilled his brother on his feelings about the singer’s The Life of a Showgirl track

Leave it to Jason Kelce to ask the hard questions that all Taylor Swift fans want to know.

On the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, Jason asked his brother Travis Kelce what he thought of Taylor Swift’s song “Wood” off her record-breaking album, The Life of a Showgirl, which declares in the lyrics: “He ah-matized me and opened my еyes/Redwood tree, it ain’t hard to see/His love was thе key that opened my thighs.”

After taking a few moments to find the perfect word, Jason asked the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, “Do you feel cocky?” When Travis tried to insist that he’d love any song his fiancée writes, Jason remarked, “It’s not just any song,” adding, “This is a very specific you. … Well, it’s not just you, though. It’s an appendage.”

“I think you’re not understanding the song,” replied Travis, causing his brother to exasperatedly exclaim, “Jesus Christ, Travis! Come on!” The former Philadelphia Eagles player also teased, “I thought Redwood was a little bit… that’s a generous word.”

Trending Stories

Earlier this week, Swift gave fans a bit more insight into the meaning behind “Wood” during an appearance on SiriusXM Hits 1. The singer shared that she played the highly suggestive track for her mother. “I think that she thinks that that song is about superstitions, popular superstitions, which it absolutely is,” Swift said. “That’s the joy of the double entendre. You could read that song for people and it just goes right over their head. You see in that song what you wanna see in that song.”

The star also raved about her muse, Travis. “He’s one of those people where as soon as you meet him, you kind of know he’s the best,” she said. “And you kind of know there’s no one else on the planet that’s ever been even remotely similar to him. He’s like one of one.”

Taylor Swift’s “The Fate Of Ophelia” Is Shattering Streaming Records And Owning Pop Radio | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 October 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Taylor Swift’s new song The Fate of Ophelia isn’t just another chart entry, it’s a full-blown phenomenon. Within days of release, the track became the fastest song ever to cross 100 million streams on Spotify, setting a record that even Swift herself hadn’t touched before. The pace was unreal. Fans kept refreshing the counters, posting updates in real time, and by the end of the week, Ophelia had become Spotify’s new benchmark for what a hit looks like in 2025.

What’s even wilder is how the song has taken over pop radio. In the U.S., The Fate of Ophelia earned the most pop radio adds in a single week since Easy on Me by Adele back in 2021. For a song to dominate both streaming and traditional radio like that is rare now, but if there’s one artist who still pulls it off effortlessly, it’s Taylor. Program directors reportedly jumped on the track right away, a mix of that instant earworm production and Swift’s knack for lyrics that hit straight to the gut.

Musically, The Fate of Ophelia feels like the sweet spot between her cinematic songwriting and her pop roots. It’s grand, emotional, and kind of haunting. The production swells slowly, almost like you’re walking into something you shouldn’t, and then it crashes right when you expect it to stay quiet. It’s the kind of song that feels like it’s hiding something, which, let’s be real, is what Taylor does best.

On social media, fans are losing it. Reddit threads and TikTok edits have already turned Ophelia into an obsession. People are analyzing every lyric, connecting it back to her earlier eras, and talking about how it feels like the perfect blend of Folklore’s emotion and 1989’s confidence.

It’s easy to say Taylor breaks records every time she breathes, but this one hits differently. The Fate of Ophelia isn’t loud about its power; it just moves like a storm that no one saw coming. And once again, everyone’s caught in the rain.

Taylor Lynn Corporation acquired by Springbank directors, marking a new chapter for both industry leaders

by jummy84 October 8, 2025
written by jummy84

In a landmark move for the UK events industry, Liz Taylor, founder and CEO of leading event management firm Taylor Lynn Corporation (TLC), has announced her decision to step down following the acquisition of the company by Anna-Liisa Evans and Paul Gilmore, directors of the acclaimed floral design and event décor company Springbank.

This strategic acquisition brings together two of the industry’s most creative forces under the TLC brand while maintaining the distinct identity and independence of both companies.

Founded in 1995, TLC has become synonymous with exceptional event experiences. Liz Taylor, who became sole owner in 2008, has enjoyed a long-standing creative partnership with Anna-Liisa Evans, making this transition a natural evolution for both businesses.

As part of the acquisition, Paul Gilmore will take on the role of CEO of TLC, guiding the company through its next chapter. TLC operations will move to Springbank’s headquarters in Cheshire, although both brands will continue to operate as separate entities.

“This is a seamless transition,” said Gilmore. “Together, we’re combining decades of experience and creativity to offer an unmatched platform for event innovation and delivery.”

The acquisition also represents a full-circle moment: Dianne Lynn, Liz Taylor’s former TLC business partner, previously owned Springbank until it was sold to Anna-Liisa Evans in 2004. The two businesses have a rich history of collaboration, and this move renews that legacy.

“Liz has built a global reputation for excellence in events,” added Evans. “We’re honoured to build on that legacy and lead TLC into an exciting new future.”

Liz Taylor expressed her full confidence in the new leadership: “The synergy between Anna-Liisa and me has always been creatively electric. With Paul at the helm, TLC is in excellent hands for its next chapter. I’ll now focus on my consultancy business while remaining available to support when required.”

This exciting acquisition marks the beginning of a new era, blending TLC’s iconic presence in the event sector with Springbank’s signature creative flair — setting new standards in event design, innovation, and execution.
