Tate McRae Announces Deluxe Edition of ‘So Close to What’

SO CLOSE TO WHAT??? (deluxe) is out Nov. 21 and includes the singer’s latest hit, “Tit for Tat”

Tate McRae has had a busy weekend. On Friday, the pop star earned her first Grammy nomination, for “Just Keep Watching” from the F1 soundtrack. On Saturday, she wrapped her massive tour in Los Angeles — and announced the deluxe edition of So Close to What, out Nov. 21 via RCA.

SO CLOSE TO WHAT??? (deluxe) will feature several new tracks, including McRae’s recent hit “Tit For Tat,” which debuted at Number Three on the Billboard Hot 100. “We had a few more songs that I wanted to share with y’all to close out the SC2W era,” McRae wrote on Instagram. “I can’t wait for you to hear.”

McRae’s Miss Possessive Tour spanned 83 dates, including three nights at New York’s Madison Square Garden (two shows in September, and a third in October). At the MTV VMAs earlier this year, she performed a medley of the So Close to What cuts “Sports Car” and “Revolving Door.”

McRae released So Close to What, her third album, in Feb. 2025, and it debuted at Number One on the Billboard Hot 100 — her first LP to do so. In an interview with Rolling Stone, McRae said the title stems from “the idea of not being present at times, feeling like you’re trying to control everything, feeling perceived by so many people, feeling like I’m 21 and the oldest I’ve ever felt but also so young.”

She added: “In the moment, I’m [asking] ‘What do I want out of life? What do I want to do with my music? How do I want to change things?’ If people have an opinion on that, that’s their choice. If I can sleep well at night thinking about what I’m putting out there, then their opinions don’t matter.”

24 October 2025

Isabelle Tate died from a rare form of a neurological disorder.

Isabelle Tate has passed away

The 9-1-1: Nashville actress passed away on Sunday (19.10.25) and her representative has now confirmed she “passed away peacefully” as a result of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a group of inherited conditions which cause nerve damage.

The McCray Agency wrote on their Instagram Story: “Isabelle ‘Izzy’ Tate had a rare form of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. She passed away peacefully on the 19th of October.

“The family requests privacy as they deal with this sudden and shocking loss.

“Izzy recently returned to acting and booked episode 1 of 9-1-1 Nashville which filmed in June and first aired October 6th.

Information about the disease Izzy suffered from can be found at link.

“In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Izzy’s memory be made.”

The McCray Agency had earlier paid a heartfelt tribute to the late TV star.

The company said on Instagram: “We are deeply saddened and completely heartbroken to share that Isabelle Tate passed away on October 19th. She was 23.

“I’ve known Izzy since she was a teenager and she recently returned to acting. She booked the first series she auditioned for, 9-1-1 Nashville. She had a wonderful time. Special thanks to @fincannonmark @shelbay9 for casting her and @caroline_locorriere for that wonderful encouragement and nudge back to the acting world. Also to Lora Sorrentino for making her set experience a good one.

“My heart goes out to her wonderful mother @katerinataterealtor, her sister Daniella, family and friends. I was so lucky to know her and she will be greatly missed by so many. [broken heart and dove emojis] (sic)”

Isabelle – who was confined to a wheelchair – was remembered as the “life of the party”.

An obituary reads: “Isabelle was full of fire, a fighter, never once making excuses for the fact that she might have a disability relative to others.

“She was also quite musically inclined, often spending hours writing and recording songs with friends and even publishing a few.

“What she loved the most though was spending time with family and friends, always the life of the party. Her sister was her best friend and her mom was her shining beacon of light.”

The actress previously revealed she had been diagnosed with the condition when she was 13.

She wrote on Instagram in 2022: “This has been a difficult journey for me because having to accept help and surrender to the progression of this condition has been extremely hard. While I was trying to come to terms with this, I really did find that I lost myself in certain ways. I hated that it was not only breaking me down physically, but I was allowing it to also break down my spirit.

“I would’ve never expected something like this to happen to me, as most of us wouldn’t. I don’t know why these were the cards I was dealt in life, but I can’t change it so I’m choosing to embrace it and not let it define me.”

Isabelle Tate health issues

While her cause of death has not been disclosed, Isabelle shared in a 2022 Instagram post that she had been diagnosed with a progressive neuromuscular disease at age 13. The condition weakened her leg muscles over time, requiring her to use a wheelchair.

“This has been a difficult journey for me because having to accept help and surrender to the progression of this condition has been extremely hard,” she wrote at the time. “While I was trying to come to terms with this, I really did find that I lost myself in certain ways. Nia Long And Larenz Tate To Reunite In Untitled Netflix Romantic Drama

It may not be Love Jones 2, but Nia Long and Larenz Tate are set to reunite onscreen as the leads of a new untitled romantic drama for Netflix.

Helmed by Sylvie’s Love writer-director, Eugene Ash, the new film is inspired by Maxwell’s debut album, Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite. However, further details including the logline are being kept under wraps, according to Deadline.

The film is being written by Kay Oyegun, a writer-producer who’s best known for her work on NBC’s This Is Us. Maxwell and John D. Hammond along with Long and Tate will serve as executive producers.

Ever since Long and Tate starred in Theodore Witcher’s debut, Love Jones, fans of the cult classic have been begging for a sequel.

However, back in 2023, Tate admitted to being tired of getting asked about Love Jones, part two. In an interview, he stated, “It would be hard for us to catch lightning in the bottle twice.” He did admit that he and Long had been in talks about what it might look like.

He noted, “We feel like we should do something, but something different. TV show, movies that could be a franchise — we’ve discussed everything. We talked about all kinds of stuff because we know what ‘Love Jones’ meant, we know what those characters meant, and we know what the message and the story meant to us. And we don’t want to disrupt that […] and do something that doesn’t live up to our expectations of our audience would want from us.”

The following year, though, he teased that he was ready to “play somebody’s husband,” after becoming a household name through the Power franchise. He and Long have reunited several times in celebration of Love Jones over the years with the most notable moment coming last Christmas in a Walmart commercial.

Your VMAs performance was stunning, and it’s been so great to see how much you’ve stepped into your own as an artist. What was your “I did it” moment, and what are you looking forward to in the next chapter?

Thank you! Performing at the VMAs was a dream come true. I felt really honored to share that stage with so many amazing artists. This whole tour has also been such a life-changing experience for me. We just played two sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden and have another coming up. We also play the Kia Forum in Los Angeles this weekend. It’s all been very surreal. I’m really looking forward to continuing to connect with the incredible people who support me and come to my shows. Nothing beats the in-person connection.

You’ve flawlessly blended your love for dance with music in a way that appeals strongly to your Gen Z audience. What does this tour mean for you as an artist at this stage in your career?

This tour means so much to me as an artist. I’ve always dreamed of playing in arenas, so I just feel so grateful to be in these rooms every night. Looking back, it definitely took me a few years to crack the code on how to blend my dancing and singing together during my show, but it’s now starting to feel really seamless. I feel like I am in my flow. I am now always thinking about how I am going to perform a song live when I am writing it in the studio. It has made performing this last album so fun and truly so enjoyable every night.
