Kali Uchis Pulls Collab With D4vd Off Streaming Amid Investigation

by jummy84 September 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Kali Uchis is officially cutting ties with rising Gen Z artist, D4vd. This comes after his name got wrapped up in a jaw-dropping, deeply disturbing headline involving a missing 15-year-old girl. What authorities allegedly found has social media in complete meltdown mode.

Kali Uchis Plans To Pull Song With Singer, D4vd

Kali Uchis is distancing herself from singer D4vd after the shocking news that authorities uncovered missing teen, Celeste Rivas Hernandez, in the trunk of a vehicle connected to him. The two artists dropped their dreamy collab ‘Crashing’ back in February, but that song may not be streaming for much longer. After fans started pressing Kali in the comments, she made it clear she’s not standing by him:

“Not my friend. I did a song with him, which is currently in the process of being taken down,” she wrote on IG.

No word yet from d4vd’s team—but social media is watching this unfold. In the same comment section, Kali responded to a user who was defending her amid others blaming the singer. She wrote, “@cynthia_barrera_ it’s ok bb people like her are why women always get blamed for the things men do, lol, the internalized misogyny of this world, I suppose.”

The Internet Has Thoughts

Fans wasted no time hitting up The Shade Room’s comment section with all kinds of reactions. Some users applauded Kali Uchis for distancing herself, saying they’d do the exact same thing in her shoes. Others admitted they had never even heard of D4vd until the news broke. Many were also confused about why anyone assumed Kali and D4vd were friends—pointing out that a collab doesn’t equal a personal relationship.

One Instagram user @angelbutterflyexcellence_diva said, “As she should 👏 I would have done the same thing IDC how well known famous you“

This Instagram user @aquarius_xx00 commented, “I don’t blame her“

Meanwhile, Instagram user @thearringtonjordan shared, “Don’t yell at me but what if he didn’t do it? They said he isn’t a suspect smh.“

While, Instagram user @audaciouslex added, “I can’t be the only person that never heard of D4vd before yesterday?“

Instagram user @stiffmoods shared, “why some people first thought is to harass a woman who has a song with him, she ain’t got nothing to do with that man“

Likewise, Instagram user @ycbanksmusic wrote, “Just because they have a song together don’t mean she got anything to do with him“

Lastly, Instagram user @rhyajanae said, “Honestly, idk what’s going on in this world anymore. Like wtf“

Police Search Hollywood Hills Home Tied To D4vd

Authorities are investigating the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose body was found in the trunk of a Tesla registered to 20-year-old singer D4vd. The car had been towed from a Los Angeles street on September 6. Then two days later, staff at the impound lot reported a foul odor coming from the vehicle. LAPD officers discovered the teen’s body in a state of decomposition. She was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as a missing girl from Lake Elsinore, last seen in 2024.

Law enforcement sources say officials recently searched a Hollywood Hills home where D4vd had been staying. While the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division is leading the investigation, the case is not currently classified as a homicide, as the agency has not determined a cause of death or a suspect. The teen was 5’1″, with wavy black hair, and police found her wearing a tube top, leggings, and jewelry. Additionally, a tattoo on her index finger that read “Shhh…” reportedly matched one the singer has. Meanwhile, a GoFundMe is now active in support of her family.

Disney / Justin Stephens

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place

The sequel to Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place returns for a second season with back-to-back episodes, featuring a crowded house of young wizards now that protégée Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown) has been joined in the magic trade by Russo brothers Roman (Alkaio Thiele) and Milo (Max Matenko). While Justin (David Henrie) helps train the young wizards for the Family Wizard Competition, expect guest-star appearances by Selena Gomez (reprising her role as Justin’s sister Alex), What We Do in the Shadows alum Harvey Guillén as Gossip Stone and Criminal Minds‘ Kirsten Vangsness as Bigelow McFigglehorn, a member of the Wizard Tribunal. All episodes of Season 2 will begin streaming on Disney+ on October 8.

Kenzi Richardson in 'Vampirina: Teenage Vampire' Season 1 Episode 1

Disney / Mitch Haaseth

Vampirina: Teenage Vampire

The supernatural fun continues on a music-heavy comedy series starring Kenzi Richardson as Vampirina — or as her friends call her, “Vee” — a tween vampire from Transylvania who’s left the crypt to sink her teeth into a performing-arts boarding school. As one does. Living Single‘s Kim Coles costars as the Wilson Hall Academy of the Arts’ Dean Merriweather, with Jiwon Lee as Vee’s perky roommate Sophie and Milo Maharlika as Demi, a 600-year-old ghost sent by Vee’s parents to keep a spectral eye on Vee. The entire season will begin streaming on Disney+ on October 15, with the first single (“Slay”) available today.

Naika Toussaint as Amber, Miranda Cosgrove as Dawn, Madeleine Arthur as Cinderella, Madison Pettis as Lexi, Hannah Stocking as Eve and Pierson Fodé as Trey in 'The Wrong Paris'

Diyah Pera / Netflix

The Wrong Paris

What would Emily Cooper (of Emily in Paris) do? Have a meltdown, most likely. Which is country girl Dawn’s (Miranda Cosgrove of iCarly fame) initial reaction when she signs on as a contestant for the Honey Pot dating show, set in Paris, where she hopes to pursue her art-school dreams. But reality (as in reality TV) sets in when she discovers the show is actually set in Paris, Texas. This being a romcom, you won’t be surprised to learn that the cowboy bootcamp has an upside: the bachelor himself, a hunky hayseed named Trey (Pierson Fodé) who takes a shine to Dawn.

The Rainmaker

Novice lawyer Rudy (Milo Callaghan) squares off in court on the opposite side of his girlfriend Sarah (Madison Iseman) for a high-stakes evidentiary hearing in a pivotal episode of the legal drama based on John Grisham’s bestseller. Sarah and her new mentor Brad (Wade Briggs) know their jobs at Tinley Britt are on the line, while Rudy keeps trying to prove himself to his boss Bruiser (Lana Parrilla), though he has a risky habit of ignoring all of her advice and warnings. Adding to the anxiety: the results of the bar exam are beginning to come in.

Warfare

Described by the New York Times as “a tough, relentless movie about life and death in battle,” writer-director Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza’s unflinching 2025 real-time war film set during an ill-fated Iraq War mission makes its streaming debut. (The movie premieres on HBO Saturday at 8/7c.) The ensemble cast includes Reservation Dogs‘ D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Shogun‘s Cosmo Jarvis, Heartstopper‘s Kit Connor, Will Poulter (The Bear), Finn Bennett (True Detective: Night Country), and Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before).

'Chief of War' Season 1 Episode 8

Apple TV+

Chief of War

War clouds are forming on several fronts in the penultimate episode of Jason Momoa‘s historical epic set in the pre-unification Hawaiian Islands of the early 1800s. Grieving the slaughter on the beach of hundreds of innocent villagers by European invaders, Ka’iana (Momoa) is losing faith in war chief and future king Kamehameha’s (Kaina Makua) resolve. And there’s another enemy within, with the battle-hungry Keoua (Cliff Curtis) on the rampage.

Streaming Ratings Aug. 11-17, 2025

by jummy84 September 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Wednesday stayed at the top of the streaming charts in the second week after season two’s premiere, but it wasn’t as dominant as it was for its opening frame. FX’s Alien: Earth also joined the rankings with its debut on Hulu.

After logging the second-largest weekly total of 2025, Wednesday fell by about 43 percent for the week of Aug. 11-17 — though it still drew a strong 2.14 billion minutes of watch time in the United States, according to Nielsen. The CTV/CW drama Sullivan’s Crossing moved back up the charts a week after its third season debuted on Netflix, logging 1.59 billion minutes for second place overall. KPop Demon Hunters continued its huge summer with 1.02 billion viewing minutes.

Related Stories

Alien, Sigourney Weaver, 1979, piloting the spaceship

Alien: Earth premiered to 464 million minutes of watch time on Hulu for its first two episodes. That was good for seventh place among originals, just behind another debut: Prime Video’s spy thriller Butterfly (491 million minutes), starring Daniel Dae Kim.

The previous week’s second- and third-ranked original series, King of the Hill and The Hunting Wives, swapped spots. The Hunting Wives scored 761 million minutes of watch time for Netflix, while King of the Hill had 714 million minutes for Hulu.

Nielsen’s streaming ratings cover viewing on TV sets only and don’t include minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. The ratings only measure U.S. audiences, not those in other countries. The top streaming titles for Aug. 11-17, 2025, are below.

NATPE Appoints New Executive Board, With Members Spanning Linear TV And Streaming

by jummy84 September 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Two years after its trade shows were acquired by new owners, the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) has appointed a new executive board.

The execs come from a range of top media and technology companies, spanning the worlds of linear TV and streaming. The board will guide NATPE’s long-term strategy as it looks to continue growing its two main events, NATPE Global in Miami and NATPE Budapest.

Joining the board are Brad Beale, Head of Worldwide Content Licensing & Distribution, Amazon MGM Studios; Kevin Beggs, Chair and Chief Creative Officer, Lionsgate Television Group; Michael Bonner, President, Global TV Distribution, NBCUniversal; Val Boreland, President, Entertainment, Versant; Flory Bramnick, EVP, Distribution, Sony Pictures Television; Brandon Brito, Senior Programming Executive, Apple TV+; Dan Cohen, Former Chief Content Licensing Officer, Paramount Global Content Distribution; Lori Conkling, Vice President, Licensing, Netflix; David Decker, President, Content Sales, Warner Bros. Discovery; Elaine Frontain-Bryant, EVP, Head of Programming, A&E and Lifetime; and Rebecca Glashow, Chief Executive Officer, BBC Global Media & Streaming, BBC Studios

Canadian media and events firm Brunico, whose brands include Realscreen, acquired NATPE out of bankruptcy in 2023. After a return to Miami in 2024, it was combined with Realscreen’s programming-focused conference in 2025, with that dual approach set again for February 2 to 6, 2026.

The executive board will be distinct from NATPE’s annual content advisory boards, officials said, and will focus on broader issues like global market navigation, strategic expansion, and industry connectivity.

“This board embodies the innovative, cross-platform spirit that defines today’s content landscape,” said Claire Macdonald, SVP and Executive Director, NATPE. “Their collective insight will be critical as NATPE continues evolving into a truly global hub for content commerce and creative collaboration.”

Disney+ & Spain's Atresmedia Team For Streaming Pact

Disney+ & Spain’s Atresmedia Team For Streaming Pact

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Disney has continued its strategy of teaming with European broadcasters through a deal with Spanish network Atresmedia.

Through an agreement billed as “the first major integration between a global streaming platform and Spain‘s leading broadcaster,” Disney+ will carry more than 300 hours of Spanish-produced Atresmedia programing annually in a branded section.

Starting this month, Disney+ subscribers in Spain will be able to access shows such as La Voz, Tu Cara Me Suena, Vis a Vis and Mar Afuera. Content will be “regularly updated,” according to the companies.

This comes after Disney struck similar carriage agreements in the UK, with commercial network ITV, and Germany, with public broadcaster ZDF. There have been various similar streamer-broadcaster partnerships struck in 2025, with Netflix’s agreement to carry the live channels and on-demand content from France’s TF1 starting 2026 arguably the most eye-catching.

“This pioneering and unprecedented agreement with Disney+, one of the largest international streaming platforms, consolidates the leadership of Atresmedia and atresplayer, reaffirming the success of their innovative content strategy,” said Atresmedia CEO Javier Bardají. “It allows us to expand the reach of our productions, promoting Spanish talent and culture. Disney and Atresmedia share the quality and ambition of their content, as well as the care of their brands. It was only logical that we would meet.”

The agreement will see Disney+ gaining co-exclusive rights to a number of Atresmedia productions. Atresplayer original Mar Afuera will premiere on September 14, with others such as La Voz and Tu Cara Me Suena following, and Antena 3 linear shows such as La Encrucijada and Sueños de Libertad will be offered, along with legacy titles such as Vis a Vis, Física o Química, and Aquí No Hay Quien Viva.

We hear the SVOD originals will be released day-and-date, while the likes of La Voz, Spain’s version of The Voice, made available on Disney+ one day after their linear broadcasts. Some long-running novelas will be made available on Disney+ either next day or within a month of airing on Atresmedia’s free-to-air channels.

“This commitment has been part of our model and philosophy for decades and has allowed us to achieve international successes such as Gran Hotel, La Casa de Papel, Velvet, El Tiempo Entre Costuras, Vis a Vis, Veneno, Alba or Entre Tierras, which have left their mark and paved the way for the rest of the sector,” said Bardají. That is why this alliance also strengthens Atresmedia as the engine and benchmark of our industry and confirms atresplayer as the leading Spanish platform and local hero in our country, with a trajectory of continuous growth.”

Karl Holmes, General Manager for Disney+, EMEA added: “Atresmedia consistently delivers popular, must-watch Spanish content including some of the country’s finest original productions. Adding hundreds of hours of Atresmedia shows to stream on Disney+ is great news for our customers in Spain. This deal also reflects our broader commitment to supporting local broadcasters across Europe, including our recent collaboration in the UK with ITVX and ZDF in Germany.

“We’re focused on bringing the very best, local stories to our customers, alongside our extraordinary slate of original Disney+ series such as recent hit Ladrones: La Tiara de Santa Agueda and global hit movies and shows like Lilo & Stitch and FX’s The Bear.

Season 42 will see the return of Second Chance and Champions Wildcard competitions, the Tournament of Champions (ToC), and Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament (JIT). The “postseason” tournaments will air later in the season with Ken Jennings hosting, as well as the syndicated show and Celebrity Jeopardy!.

Fans will be able to see all-new episodes of Jeopardy! starting on September 8 on syndicated channels, but if they miss an episode, they will be available to stream the next day on Hulu, Hulu on Disney+, Peacock (in the U.S.), and Crave (in Canada). The latest five episodes of the new season will be available on the streamers.

“Having new episodes of Jeopardy! available on streaming for the first time is a huge milestone in the history of our program, and we look forward to welcoming a new audience on these platforms,” Suzanne Prete, president of game shows for Sony Pictures Television, said in a press release.

“We want to celebrate that leap forward while also making sure our viewers know that if they watch Jeopardy! on their local station, they will continue to be able to do so. Our affiliate and owned station partners around the country remain essential to the show’s success.”

In addition to the new season, Jeopardy! fans will be able to watch a collection of library episodes from the game show’s past seasons. Every single episode of Ken Jennings’ 74-game streak will be available, as well as streaks from other top champions. Peacock and Crave will also stream a collection of episodes featuring Alex Trebek’s travels around the world.

Jonathan Hugendubler, from Baltimore, Maryland, will face off against two new opponents on the season premiere after defeating superchamp Scott Riccardi in the finale.
