“Fight for what you’ve built!” Never let them take you down! Hulu has debuted a final official trailer for a movie titled Swiped, another story of tech success in America. But instead of being a cautionary tale, this is framed as a story of great achievement in saying F you to The Man. From filmmaker Rachel Lee Goldenberg, it’s premiering at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival this week and will be streaming on Hulu to watch later in September. Swiped is inspired by the story of Whitney Wolfe (now Whitney Wolfe Herd), founder and former CEO of the dating app / platform known as Bumble. It was created when she was ousted from Tinder and she decided to create an alternative version where women are the only ones who can starting talking with a match. Lily James stars as Whitney, along with Clea DuVall, Dermot Mulroney, Pierson Fode, Joely Fisher, Myha’la, and Dan Stevens playing Badoo founder & CEO Andrey Andreev (who was a key investor in Bumble which allowed them to start). I’m still not sure why all of this is being spun into a more positive story, when it’s still yet another corporate tech biz / cautionary tale just like the others before.

Have you seen something you shouldn’t have seen?” 👀 Roadside Attr. has unveiled the official trailer for the horror thriller movie titled Dust Bunny, marking the feature directorial debut of producer / writer Bryan Fuller. This wicked fairy tale is premiering at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival in Midnight Madness this week, hence the trailer dropping now. It won’t be in theaters until December this year. This intriguing horror mixes two common premises – a hitman neighbor who protects a young girl, and some extra scary monster that’s hiding under her bed. A 10-year-old girl asks her scheming neighbor for help in killing the monster under her bed that she thinks ate her family. Suspecting that her parents may have fallen victim to assassins after him, Aurora’s neighbor guiltily takes the job. But to protect her, he’ll need to battle an onslaught of assassins ― and accept that some monsters are real. Starring Mads Mikkelsen, Sigourney Weaver, David Dastmalchian, Sheila Atim, and Sophie Slone as Aurora. It looks like way more of an action thriller with a dash of horror, yet another hyper-stylized new hitman movie.

“It’s not just a question of cultural heritage – it’s a question of money, of greed, of destroying the cultural fabric of the community.” Magnify has revealed the first look teaser trailer for a film titled The Souffleur, which just premiered at the 2025 Venice Film Festival last week. This festival promo is to help build sales buzz for the film, the latest from Argentinian director Gastón Solnicki, set inside an iconic hotel located in Vienna, Austria. Lucius Glantz is the longtime manager of Vienna’s iconic InterContinental Hotel, whose life spirals into absurd paranoia when he learns the property is being sold to an Argentine developer with plans to demolish it. As Lucius wages a quiet but obsessive vendetta against the new owner, his unraveling begins to infect the world around him—the hotel’s pipes clog, clocks spin out of sync, and his once-perfect soufflés mysteriously refuse to rise. With the help of his daughter and a handful of loyal employees, he clings to the life he’s built. This stars Willem Dafoe, with Lilly Lindner, Stephanie Argerich, Gastón Solnicki, Imona Mirrakhimova, Claus Philipp, Camille Clair. Seems like it might be a good film – take a look.

The screenplay is written by Julia Niemann and Gastón Solnicki. It’s produced by Solnicki, Little Magnet Films (Gabriele Kranzelbinder & Paolo Calamita), Eugenio Fernández Abril, KGP Filmproduktion. “3, 6, 9, the goose drank wine!” Mubi has revealed the first look teaser trailer for the film Die My Love, the highly anticipated new film from acclaimed Scottish filmmaker Lynne Ramsay. Her first new feature film project since rocking the cinema world with You Were Never Really Here back in 2017. Die My Love first premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival a few months ago to mostly mixed & negative reviews. Too loud, too crazy, doesn’t amount too much. But worth a look if you want something extra wild… In a remote forgotten rural area, a mother struggles to maintain her sanity as she battles with psychosis. Die My Love is Ramsay’s blistering depiction of a woman engulfed by love and madness, featuring stunning performances from Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson as a married couple dealing with life and a new baby. The cast also includes LaKeith Stanfield, Nick Nolte, and Sissy Spacek. It’s adapted from the book by Ariana Harwicz. With cinematography by Seamus McGarvey. I am a big fan of Lynne Ramsay, alas I am not a fan of this film. Did not care for it much… Opens in theaters in November if anyone is into it anyway.

The much-awaited teaser of the rom-com finally dropped on Friday, August 29, after a slight delay, instantly grabbing attention with its vibrant energy and humor.

Teaser Highlights

The teaser kicks off with Varun Dhawan channeling his inner Amarendra Baahubali, originally played by Prabhas. However, the mood quickly shifts when his friend hilariously remarks, “Ranveer Singh ki dhoti mein Prabhas ka paudha lag raha hai.” From there, the teaser introduces the key characters, including Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf, who play another on-screen couple. Packed with drama, dance, romance, and colors, the teaser evokes memories of Varun’s Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania days. The film’s logline sums it up best: “Four people. Two heartbreakers. One wedding.”

Fans Celebrate Varun’s Return to Comedy

Audiences couldn’t contain their excitement on YouTube, with comments like “Finally Varun Dhawan in full-on comedy,” and “VD back in his prime mode.” Fans noted that Varun hasn’t been seen in such a lighthearted rom-com since Main Tera Hero, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari marks Varun’s third outing with the filmmaker after two successful collaborations. The film also stars Akshay Oberoi and Maniesh Paul in pivotal roles. Set to release on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti, the film strategically aligns with Dussehra, giving it an extended festive window.

Malcolm McDowell Talks Emily in Paris, Starring Lily Collins

Sacré bleu! Malcolm McDowell says he’s not a fan of Emily in Paris, even though his daughter-in-law Lily Collins is the star of the show.

“To be honest with you, it’s not my kind of thing, and Lily knows that,” McDowell told People recently.

McDowell is related to Collins through the marriage of filmmaker Charlie McDowell, his son with ex-wife Mary Steenburgen. Collins, the daughter of musician Phil Collins and former teacher Jill Tavelman, married the younger McDowell in 2021, and the spouses welcomed their first child via surrogacy earlier this year.

Despite his distaste for Emily in Paris, McDowell only had rave reviews for Collins. “I’m the biggest fan of my daughter-in-law. I think she’s absolutely one of the great actresses,” the Clockwork Orange actor said. “She has such a beautiful quality. … As far as I’m concerned, when she’s on the screen, there’s nobody else on it, because she’s not only a good actress, but she has a beautiful quality.”

Plus, McDowell says Paris owes his daughter-in-law “a great debt” for bringing in so much tourism. “I’m sure [it] has gone up so much from people in the United States watching and going, ‘Yeah, let’s go to Paris,’” he said.

Emily in Paris has ventured out of the City of Light and even out of the country of France in recent seasons, however. Season 4 took the action to Rome while Season 5 — the production of which was just halted after the death of an assistant director — is filming in Venice.

The show’s fifth season will start streaming on Thursday, December 18, while Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie Grateau), Ashley Park (Mindy Chen), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine Lambert), Lucien Laviscount (Alfie), Eugenio Franceschini (Marcello), and Thalia Besson (Genevieve) returning alongside Collins.

“Now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city,” Netflix says in a synopsis of the fifth outing. “But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle, until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships. Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity, and a readiness to embrace new possibilities.”
