Oasis have officially wrapped their 2025 Australian tour, marking a triumphant return down under with over 320,000 fans attending across five stadium shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

The Britpop icons played three sold-out nights at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, followed by two shows at Accor Stadium in Sydney, concluding on Saturday (Nov. 8). It’s one of the highest-attended rock tours in Australia this year — and one with lasting impact.

“Thanks for putting up with us. We know we were d–kheads sometimes,” Liam Gallagher told the Sydney crowd. “Your support has put us back on the map. Respect! You’ve got a lovely f–king country. See you again.”

The reunion tour has drawn headlines for more than just nostalgia. In Melbourne, seismic sensors at the Seismology Research Centre reportedly picked up tremors during the band’s performances — a rare but real phenomenon caused by thousands of fans stomping and singing in unison.

One of the city’s most iconic live music venues, Cherry Bar, credited the band with sparking a major nightlife revival. “The darkest hour is before the dawn, Melbourne and Cherry Bar needed a hero and who knew that it would come in the shape of a couple of ‘no f#cks given’ Mancunian larrikins?!” wrote owner James Young on social media, calling it the bar’s “biggest weekend and biggest week on record.”

While the first show had some minor issues, including a fan launching flares into the crowd, the tour’s reception has been overwhelmingly positive.

Billboard said of the rockers’ first Melbourne gig, “Kicking off with ‘Hello,’ into which Liam inserted the lyrics ‘it’s good to be back,’ then ‘Acquiesce,’ and ‘Morning Glory,’ provided an opening combination that hit hard and fast. ‘G’day,’ Liam told the 58,000 gathered fans, Tina Arena and Jelly Roll among them. ‘Did you miss us? Because we missed you.’”

“This tour is off to a blinder, a result for anyone in the place who wanted, waited for this band, and used the opportunity to go let it all out, and sing at the top of their lungs.”

Oasis now heads to South America for shows in Argentina, Chile and Brazil, before continuing their global tour into 2026.

Foo Fighters Book 2026 Stadium Tour, Drop New Song

by jummy84 October 24, 2025
written by jummy84

As expected following a series of recent surprise club shows that introduced new drummer Ilan Rubin, Foo Fighters will embark on a North American stadium tour next summer. The Dave Grohl-led group has also released its second fresh tune of the year, the ferocious “Asking for a Friend,” ahead of an anticipated new album at some point in 2026.

The tour will begin Aug. 4 in Toronto and conclude Sept. 26 in Las Vegas, although more dates will be announced. Queens of the Stone Age will support on all but the Sept. 12 gig in Fargo, N.D., while Mannequin Pussy and Gouge Away will open at various points. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Oct. 31.

In a long Substack post, Grohl described “Asking for a Friend” as “a song for those who have waited patiently in the cold, relying on hope and faith for their horizon to appear. Searching for ‘proof’ when hanging by a wish until the sun shines again. One of many songs to come…”

Without directly mentioning the circumstances that led to the Foos’ abrupt tour cancelation in 2023, Grohl acknowledged that “since our return to the stage in San Luis Obispo five weeks ago, we have been reminded of why we love and are forever devoted to doing this Foo Fighters thing. From reuniting as a band and staring at a list of 30 years’ worth of songs to brush off, to reimagining versions with the incredible blessing of the one and only Ilan Rubin behind the drums, to reconnecting with our amazing fans and blasting them with everything we’ve got (no matter the size of the venue) because we would not be here without them, we have the most solid core. And the sun is finally rising over the horizon.”

He also saluted Queens of the Stone Age, with whom he has frequently recorded and performed since the early 2000s (the two groups share a manager in John Silva). “What better way to share the view than with close friends? In 1992, I first saw the legendary Kyuss perform at the Off Ramp in Seattle and met Mr. Josh Homme. The band were friends of a friend, and before long their album Blues for the Red Sun became the soundtrack to that summer. 33 years later and with many miles behind us, I have shared some of my life’s most rewarding musical moments with my dear friend, Josh. A lifelong bond that goes far beyond the sound we’ve made together. So, it is with great happiness that we can share this next chapter together with his almighty Queens of the Stone Age. Take cover.”

Foo Fighters’ final shows of the year will take place Nov. 12 in Monterrey, Mexico, and two days later at the Corona Capital festival in Mexico City. The group will also perform Oct. 30 as part of Amazon Music Live’s new season.

Here are Foo Fighters’ 2026 tour dates:

Aug, 4: Toronto (Rogers Stadium)
Aug. 6: Detroit (Ford Field)
Aug. 8: Chicago (Soldier Field)
Aug. 10: Cleveland (Huntington Bank Field)
Aug. 13: Philadelphia (Lincoln Financial Field)
Aug. 15: Nashville (Nissan Stadium)
Aug. 17: Washington, D.C. (Nationals Park)
Sept. 12: Fargo, N.D. (Fargodome)
Sept. 15: Regina, Sk. (Mosaic Stadium at Taylor Field)
Sept. 17: Edmonton, Ab. (Commonwealth Stadium)
Sept. 20: Vancouver (BC Place)
Sept. 26: Las Vegas (Allegiant Stadium)

by jummy84 October 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Stadium Experience brought together leading industry figures and UK stadium venues for an inspiring full-day event at Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City FC. More than 100 representatives from stadia across the country gathered to network with peers, hear from top industry speakers, explore innovative supplier solutions, and enjoy exclusive tours of the Etihad Stadium. Following the success of the inaugural session at Edgbaston Stadium in March, this second event reaffirmed the industry’s appetite for collaboration and innovation across all areas of stadium operations.

The programme featured dedicated sessions tailored to key areas of the stadium business including; non-matchday events, hospitality and retail kiosks and public catering managers. The day began with a breakfast networking session, followed by presentations from an impressive lineup of industry speakers representing Boxbar Tech, Edge Venues, GoTo Events, Ivvy, Kappture and Venue Performance.

Delegates then enjoyed a networking lunch, a fun-filled ‘Cube’-style team challenge, and the opportunity to connect with leading suppliers showcasing the latest innovations for the events and retail sectors. Participating suppliers included; Beer Saver, Boxbar Tech, Bramble Foods, The Branded Items Group, Creventa, Diversified, Edge Venues, GoTo Events, Meadow Vale Foods, Multi-Flow Dispense Ltd, Options Great Hire, Racing Snake Media and Target Response.

As part of the event, the guests experienced the non-matchday event offerings at Etihad Stadium, with the meetings held in the most exclusive areas of the venue – The Tunnel Club and The Chairman’s Club. The day concluded with a full private tour of their retail spaces and the venues 15 unique event spaces. See a snap-shot of the day in our event video.

About Etihad Stadium

Etihad Stadium offers a versatile range of multi-functional event spaces, each featuring stunning views of the iconic pitch. The venue can accommodate up to 480 delegates, making it the ideal setting for everything from intimate board meetings to large-scale conferences and exhibitions.

Rebecca Pickard, Head of Local Partnerships and Venue Sales for Manchester City Football Club, commented: “Today was another wonderful gathering of sporting venues from across the UK, further re-enforcing our collaborative co-operation in sharing best practise to drive forward and innovate the non-matchday visitor experiences in our stadiums. It was an honour to host so many clubs at the Etihad Stadium, and a pleasure to show them around our unique conference and event spaces.”

Jackie Kavanagh, CEO at Edge Venues, gave an update on the latest agency trends. She said: “This event was just amazing with a real thirst for excellence fuelled by learnings and collaboration! as no event experience is successful without a whole team effort of suppliers, venues and event specialists. Our industry is changing as more event planners and delegates are looking for so much more than a classroom experience and no one is better to deliver this than our perfectly placed stadium community.”

Caroline Dawson, Director of International Sales at Ivvy, spoke about the Digital Remix and how to evolve hard and elevate fast. She added: “Another fantastic event by the Stadium Experience team. It was great to connect and discuss how venues can move beyond traditional boundaries, lean into the change and set themselves up for the future. Change isn’t the challenge – It’s an invitation to lead, innovate, and redefine what’s possible.”

Reshad Hossenally, Co-founder & CEO at Boxbar Tech, spoke about the latest automation developments. They commented: “This was our first time attending a Stadium Experience event, and it certainly won’t be the last! Automation is transforming how stadiums manage their bars, kiosks and general operations and I was honoured to be asked to present to the members on the latest developments. Events like this are invaluable for sharing ideas and innovations that help venues embrace technology in a practical way and it is always really motivating to see the industry coming together like this.”

Debbie Rigney, Director of Stadium Experience, added: “We would like to express a massive thank you to the team at Etihad Stadium for hosting our Stadium Experience Industry Meeting and to our industry speakers for providing their latest insights. It was invaluable to meet up with our colleagues face-to-face again to hear the very latest trends, learn about new opportunities available and explore another fabulous stadium venue, which has developed significantly in recent years. Following such positive feedback from our members, the event is now a firm fixture in the Stadium Experience calendar, with the next gathering planned for March at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham.”

About Stadium Experience

Stadium Experience was established in 2002 for football venues, and evolved in 2013 to welcome rugby stadium venues too. In 2022, the association expanded further to include cricket venues for the very first time. Some examples of their activities include; sharing best practice and ideas with regular networking events each year, joint exhibition opportunities, meeting event buyers and key agencies as a consortium, regular newsletters and blogs, an annual recognitions awards celebration; The Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards and much more.

How Sandra Douglass Morgan Brought HBCU Classic To Allegiant Stadium

How Sandra Douglass Morgan Brought HBCU Classic To Allegiant Stadium

by jummy84 September 30, 2025
written by jummy84

Next month, Grambling State University and Jackson State University will bring the spirit of Historically Black Universities (HBCUs) to Allegiant Stadium for the inaugural Las Vegas HBCU Classic at the venue. The initiative, set to empower the legacies of HBCUs, is spearheaded by Sandra Douglass Morgan, the President of the Las Vegas Raiders.

As the first Black and Asian woman to serve as an NFL team president, Morgan is excited to continue the Raiders’ history of breaking the mold and setting new precedents.

Historically, in 1968, then owner Al Davis drafted Tennessee State quarterback Eldridge Dickey, the first Black quarterback selected in the first round by an NFL team. He also was the first NFL owner in the modern era to hire a black head coach with the appointment of Art Shell in 1989. Additionally, Davis was first NFL owner to hire a Latino head coach, Tom Flores in 1979, and to hire a female chief executive, Amy Trask in 1997. He also refused to have the Raiders play in any city where Black and white players had to stay in separate hotels.

Quarterback C’zavian Teasett #1 of the Grambling State Tigers drops back to pass during the first quarter of a game against the Ohio State Buckeyes at Ohio Stadium on September 6, 2025 in Columbus, Ohio.

Ben Jackson/Getty Images

“I mentioned it to our team owner, Mark Davis, [and] said, ‘Hey, there’s a potential for the HBCU Classic. But it would be in the middle of a football season, so we would have to make sure we were at an away game or something.’ And he didn’t even let me finish and said, ‘Get it done. Absolutely.’ I didn’t even have a chance to run through numbers, tickets, anything. He just said, ‘Get it done,’” explained the Las Vegas native during an insightful video chat with VIBE.

“I knew he had a history and the team has had a history and his father’s had a history with Eddie Robinson and Grambling. But for us it was just kind of a no-brainer to want to host this to kind of highlight not just Grambling, but HBCUs in general.”

She continued, “Having this history here and being able to use a world-class stadium that we’re very lucky to play in every week, like Allegiant Stadium, we know this game is about more than football. It’s about honoring the tradition of HBCUs, creating opportunities for visibility, reinforcing our commitment to non-traditional. I think people who have served in different roles at every level of the game. Whether it be a player, a coach, in business operations, in marketing, in finance, that is what I think this game… It represents so much more than a football game. It truly represents Black excellence at every level in the organization.”

While this year is the first HBCU classic at Allegiant, it is hopefully not the last.

“We truly hope that Las Vegas will take advantage of this opportunity and our city and our residents. And even those visiting from afar will take this opportunity to truly understand and learn more about HBCUs, celebrate their tradition, their legacy, and see their excellence first and foremost, right in front of their eyes,” remarked Douglass Morgan.

She later added, “We definitely hope that this is a game that [will] continue, and a movement and a weekend that can continue to grow. I know that there are other HBCU Classics and games around the country. But having it done this way for the first time at Allegiant Stadium, we hope it’ll be incredibly accessible. People love to come to Las Vegas and we hope that they support this weekend. And [we] definitely hope with the turnout over October 25th, that it will be something that can continue to happen and grow in the future.”

Ahead of the main event, there will be a pep rally, and separate alumni mixer providing ticketholders the opporutnity to network with one another, celebrate culture. Preceding the game will be a traditional tailgate experience and after the Sunday after the 5th quarter, a gospel brunch is scheduled, highlighting talented performers from across HBCUs.

Ofiicially, the Las Vegas HBCU classic takes over Sin City from Oct. 24-26. While Douglass Morgan did not attend an HBCU herself, her organic excitement can be attributed to her passion for the Black community and recognizing the importance in supporting the legacies of the historic institutions on a national scale. She is also a member Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., which was founded at Howard University in 1908.

“I just can’t believe it’s around the corner,” she exclaimed. “We just really cannot wait to host two incredible institutions for the first time in Allegiant Stadium, Grambling State and Jackson State. Just such iconic institutions in and of itself and what they’ve been able to do for Black culture, the community, and just higher education in general. It’s just going to be an incredible event.”

Tickets for the inaugural Las Vegas HBCU Classic at Allegiant Stadium and additional events are available on the official website.

Shakira wrapped up her historic series of 12 concerts at the GNP Seguros Stadium in Mexico City on Thursday (Sept. 18), marking the most shows from a single tour performed at the iconic venue formerly known as Foro Sol.

The Colombian superstar made history by selling out the capital’s stadium 12 times during her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, drawing 65,000 people each night, according to figures from promoter OCESA, for a total of 780,000 tickets sold. The previous record at the stadium was held by Grupo Firme, with nine shows. Bad Bunny is set to perform eight nights in December as part of his DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS tour.

“My last show in Mexico City. Truly, 12 concerts at GNP Stadium, not even in my wildest dreams,” a visibly emotional Shakira said during the show. “Thank you, because this wouldn’t have been possible without you. This has been a true gift that I will never forget.”

Shakira’s final night in the capital carried an air of nostalgia and farewell for both the artist and her audience, who passionately sang along to the nearly 30 songs in the setlist. “I want the whole world to know that Mexico is magical,” the Barranquilla native exclaimed at one point as a gesture of gratitude.

As she had announced days earlier on social media, Mexican singer Danna joined her again on stage for “Soltera” on Thursday, marking the second time the song was performed live during the tour. The track recently won the 2025 MTV Video Music Award for best Latin.

With the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour, Shakira has left her mark on Mexico City — not only because of the special bond she established with her local and international fans, but also for the cultural, social and economic impacts her show had. The singer-songwriter began the first Mexican stretch of the tour in March, with seven dates at the GNP Seguros Stadium. In a second leg, she added five more shows between August and September at the same venue.

Throughout her performances, Shakira welcomed special guests, including Grupo Frontera for a live rendition of “(Entre paréntesis)” on March 25, the aforementioned Danna for “Soltera” on Aug. 26 and Sept. 18, and Mexican star Belinda for “Día de Enero” on Aug. 30.

Shakira achieved another milestone in July by selling one million tickets in Mexico as part of the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, according to OCESA, from a total of 28 dates she is close to completing. The Mexican leg of the tour will conclude on Sept. 24 at the Luis Pirata Fuente Stadium in Veracruz, marking the first time the singer will perform in that city.
