Peddi Director Buchi Babu Talks About The Success of Chikiri Chikiri Song

by jummy84 November 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Ram Charan’s captivating dance moves in the recently released Chikiri Chikiri song from Peddi left the audiences mesmerized. With music by the legendary AR Rahman, soulful vocals by Mohit Chauhan, and Balaji’s insightful lyrics, the peppy number already crossed 46 million views. Elated with the super success, director Buchi Babu Sana shared insights into what resonated with the audiences.

Director exude confidence

Sharing his thoughts about the Chikiri Chikiri song, Buchi Babu Sana shared that no sooner he heard the tune composed by Rahman he was confident the song would instantly strike a chord with the audiences. “But the response is bigger than anticipated; it is overwhelming. Chikiri is a very colloquial word that means ‘cute,’ and is confined to a specific region. But Rahman sir’s tune and Ram Charan garu’s incredible energy in the hook step made it an instant hit.” Jani Master choreography has been a major highlight.

Song stays true to the narrative

The director further reveals that he wanted to retain the essence and authenticity of the song to stay true to the script. “The song is basically a celebration of Peddi’s ‘love at first sight’ moment. How someone who lives in the mountains is mesmerized when he sees his Chikiri (Janhvi Kapoor) for the first time in the village. She stirs a sea of emotions within him, and that’s the song situation. So, we attempted to drive the narrative where Peddi celebrates her beauty. At the same time, we didn’t want to deviate from the core plot, and that’s what truly resonated with people.” He credits cinematographer Rathnavelu for the aesthetic and stunning visuals of the song. Peddi is a rustic sports drama set in the 1980s in Uttarandhra region. The film chronicles the emotional journey of a spirited villager who tries to unite his community through sports in a bid to defend their pride against a powerful rival.

Little Feat Announce Final Tour, Share New Song With Inara George: Listen

More than half a century after forming, roots-rock stalwarts Little Feat have announced the start of their final tour. The Last Farewell Tour kicks off in April with shows across the southern United States, though the band have confirmed a global tour to follow. Scroll down to see Little Feat’s full list of tour dates.

“Playing is the joy and satisfaction of touring, but it comes with the hard part—travel, the endless miles on a bus,” Little Feat shared in a statement. “It’s definitely not an absolute, never-gonna-play again statement.  This wind-down will take several years to accomplish, and while it does, Feat will continue to perform and record as long as they are able. It’s a retirement from the travel of touring.”

The Last Farewell Tour’s lineup will feature founding keyboardist Bill Payne alongside guitarists Fred Tackett and Scott Sharrard, bassist Kenny Gradney, percussionist Sam Clayton, and drummer Tony Leone. Paul Barrere, the band’s longtime guitarist and singer, died in 2019.

Little Feat shared their latest album, Strike Up the Band, earlier this year. Alongside the tour announcement, they’ve shared “Feathers and a Smile,” a song written by the band’s late co-founder Lowell George and sung by his daughter, Inara George. Listen to it below.

Robyn Returns With New Song and Video “Dopamine”: Watch

by jummy84 November 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Robyn is back. Her first single in seven years, “Dopamine,” is out now, along with a performance video directed by Marili Andre. Watch it below.

Robyn explained the chemical inspirations behind “Dopamine” in a press release. “Everyone has a phone where they see their heart rate, and we’re learning how to decode our emotions through the hormones and chemical substances in our bodies,” she said. “It’s almost like we don’t even accept that we’re human anymore, like we’re trying to shoot ourselves out of it and explain every single thing—which I think is great, but that’s also why the world is shit, this idea that you can figure out and win life or something. The doubleness of ‘Dopamine’ is having an emotion that is super real, super strong, intense, enjoyable or painful, and at the same time knowing that this is just a biological process in my body—and then not to choose religion or science. To just accept that they’re there together and to be able to go in between.”

Teased for the past several weeks, Robyn’s comeback reunites her with longtime collaborator Klas Åhlund, whose work with the Swedish pop star includes four songs on her last album, 2018’s Honey. Åhlund was the first to tease the new music, saying on the podcast Nordmark Pod, in September, “Just finished a new Robyn album that’s coming out. Super exciting! Very proud of it.”

Since Honey, Robyn has featured on songs by SG Lewis, Sigur Rós’ Jónsi, Smile, Neneh Cherry, and Jamie xx, as well as on the Yung Lean–assisted remix of Charli XCX’s “360” from Brat and It’s Completely Different but Also Still Brat.

Dry Cleaning Share Video for New Song “Cruise Ship Designer”: Watch

by jummy84 November 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Dry Cleaning have shared the second single from Secret Love, their upcoming album due out January 9 via 4AD. The London post-punk band returns with “Cruise Ship Designer” and its accompanying music video, directed by Cuán Roche. In the clip, bassist Lewis Maynard performs a dance routine—specifically choreographed for the song by Bullyache—in sparkly leggings in front of a dark curtain. Watch the new video below.

Singer Florence Shaw explained the backstory of their track in a statement: “The song is about a cruise ship and hotel designer who’s skilled and paid well, but who doesn’t believe his role has real worth,” she said. “He tries to enjoy it, and invests himself in meeting the challenges of the job.”

Secret Love is Dry Cleaning’s third studio album, following 2023’s Stumpwork. They worked on the 11-track LP at Jeff Tweedy’s Chicago studio, the Loft; at Dublin’s Sonic Studios with Gilla Band’s Alan Duggan and Daniel Fox; and eventually at France’s remote Black Box where Le Bon recorded their album.

Dry Cleaning wrapped up their recent tour, but they still have plenty of live shows on the books for next year, beginning with Rockaway Beach Festival in England on January 3. From there, Dry Cleaning’s 2026 tour heads to the United States, Canada, and many major cities in Europe.

Could Canada join Eurovision Song Contest? Experts say audience needed – National

by jummy84 November 9, 2025
written by jummy84

It’s the international competition that brings Euphoria to its audience and let its participants Rise Like a Phoenix, and there’s the possibility the Eurovision Song Contest could soon include Canada in its ranks.

It wasn’t a big-ticket item, but the Liberal government’s 2025 budget included a line on the CBC that said it’s working with the public broadcaster to explore participation in the popular song contest.

Eurovision has been around since 1956 and is organized annually by the European Broadcasting Union. It features acts from multiple countries in Europe, but also a few from abroad, such as Australia.

The campy-style song contest has sometimes been called Europe’s version of the Super Bowl, with hundreds of millions of viewers globally.

“We want Canadian culture on a global stage,” Prime Minister Mark Carney said on Thursday. “Best culture in the world, best music in the world, I think Europe deserves to see it too.”

Carney is a fan of the popular song content.

Canadians have competed in the contest in the past, with Celine Dion winning it for Switzerland in 1988. That same year, Lara Fabian, who became a Canadian citizen in 1995, represented Luxembourg and came in fourth place.

La Zarra, who was born in Montreal, represented France in the 2023 contest and came in 16th with her performance of Evidemment.

Carney has been doing outreach to numerous countries in recent months as Canada looks to like-minded trading partners amid the trade war with the U.S.

Dean Vuletic, a historian of the Eurovision Song Contest, told Global News he was not surprised that Canadian budget included a line about the competition. He noted that joining the contest has been something discussed by Canada since Australia joined in 2015.

“Canada is a country that is close to Europe, culturally, politically, especially the countries of the European Union,” Vuletic said. “We’re talking about the EU member states which are the core of Eurovision and they’re the ones that Canada is looking to develop closer ties with considering the current situation in the world.

“I think this is also a way for Canada to strengthen its connection with the European Union, even though Eurovision isn’t officially connected to the European Union … This is a way for Canada to demonstrate that it is closely tied with the European Union, that it shares the values of the European Union.”

Finance Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne told Global News Europe is open to the idea.

“This was something that was asked by the people who participate and I think it’s a platform for Canada to shine,” Champagne said Tuesday.

Joining Eurovision was previously considered by CBC/Radio-Canada in the past but was determined to be prohibitively expensive.

There have been plans to launch a televised singing contest in Canada that would send the winner to Eurovision, similar to how other contest countries choose their entry.

Eurovision 2024: “The most insane thing” says Switzerland’s Nemo after winning song contest

Since the budget announcement, Cox said “ongoing conversations” have been taking place with the CBC, but did not provide more detail.

The big question, according to Eurovision expert Karen Fricker – if Canada gets in the contest – is there enough appetite to watch?

“It’s super fun to watch, but would there be interest in it?” wondered Fricker, an adjunct professor of dramatic arts at Brock University in Niagara.

Fricker told Global News the contest has become highly popular for various immigrant and diasporic communities, with some bringing their own nation’s broadcasts into their home and, in turn, watching the competition.

In addition, youth culture got into the contest during the COVID-19 pandemic, while some in the LGBTQ2S community have called it the “gay Olympics” — the winner of the 2024 contest, Nemo, identifies as non-binary while JJ, the 2025 winner, identifies as queer.

Story continues below advertisement

Fricker noted that Australia’s decision may lend to Canada’s as well.

“The decision was made that because Australia is very much a country of immigrants, as is Canada, in addition to have First Peoples, they have really, really built a following in Australia,” Fricker said. “So that when Australia then got the opportunity to compete, it made so much sense because there was so much excitement in the public. Here (in Canada,) that would need to be built, I feel.”

Hilary Duff’s new song based on ‘brief experience’ with ex

Hilary Duff’s new song Mature is based on a “brief experience” with an ex.

Hilary Duff’s new song based on ‘brief experience’ with ex

The 38-year-old singer-and-actress teamed up with her Grammy-winning songwriter/producer husband Matthew Koma to write the single but admitted it was about a past romantic partner.

She told Vogue: “It is definitely about a brief experience that I had in my [life] — a long, long time ago. It is not totally autobiographical. I took a few artistic liberties just to make the song work structurally, but the gist is the gist.

“I was looking back on this relationship and thinking about whether this guy had a habit of dating younger women or whether I was ‘special’. The whole experience was super therapeutic to write about, but being so vulnerable through your music can be really scary.

“Mature is a conversation with my younger self about being happy with where I landed. Part of it was an idea that Matt originated… Matt obviously knows all the stories from my past, and he’s so great at coming up with a concept where I get to go in and interior design the whole thing. The song is about reflecting on your past and coming to terms with the choices you’ve made, but without being too hard on yourself. It’s a fun record, but it’s secretly kinda heavy too.”

And, Hilary – who has son Luca with first husband Mike Comrie – revealed she never thought about getting married again until she met Matthew.

She said: “He’s just the best f****** human and my number-one cheerleader. He believes in me beyond any vision I have for myself. I couldn’t imagine making new music with anyone else. I never thought I wanted to get married again until I met him. We had Banks before we got married, and while I was pregnant I kinda hated his guts. I couldn’t stand the way he walked and chewed because all of this stuff was just so terrifying. Every day I looked in the mirror like, Oh my God, what am I doing? Then we had the baby and I saw what a great dad he is. I was like, Wait, I’m actually obsessed with you!”

Olivia Rodrigo Slams ICE Using Song for ‘Racist, Hateful Propaganda’

by jummy84 November 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Olivia Rodrigo is making it clear that she is not happy with the Trump administration (and his Department of Homeland Security) using her music to promote their policies. On Friday, the pop singer slammed the White House and DHS for posting a video about self-deportation using one of her songs.

A video posted to Instagram on Tuesday opened with the chaotic, rock part of her Guts favorite “All-American Bitch” showing clips of ICE agents detaining undocumented immigrants with the caption “If ICE finds you,” and then undocumented immigrants seemingly choosing to self-deport with the softer, more peaceful part of the song that follows.

“LEAVE NOW and self-deport using the CBP Home app,” read the DHS post’s caption. “If you don’t, you will face the consequences.”

In a comment that has since been deleted (although it’s unclear if by Rodrigo or DHS), Rodrigo wrote, “Don’t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda.” Since its deletion, fans of Rodrigo have been copy/pasting her original message to remind viewers of Rodrigo’s take.

In response to Rolling Stone‘s request for comment on the matter, a DHS spokesperson said, “America is grateful all the time for our federal law enforcement officers who keep us safe. We suggest Ms. Rodrigo thank them for their service, not belittle their sacrifice.”

Rodrigo has been a loud voice against Trump’s policies and racist approach to immigration enforcement. When ICE started targeting Angelenos in mass raids back in June, Rodrigo shared an Instagram story condemning deportations.

“I’ve lived in L.A. my whole life and I’m deeply upset about these violent deportations of my neighbors under the current administration,” Rodrigo wrote. “L.A. simply wouldn’t exist without immigrants. Treating hardworking community members with such little respect, empathy, and due process is awful.”

Trending Stories

She continued: “I stand with the beautiful, diverse community of Los Angeles and with immigrants all across America. I stand for our right to freedom of speech and freedom to protest.”

A rep for Rodrigo did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone‘s request for additional comment.

Listen to Paramore’s Hayley Williams’ New Song “Showbiz”

by jummy84 November 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Today (November 7) is a big day for Hayley Williams. Physical editions of Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party, the Paramore leader’s third solo studio album, are out now, and they include two songs that were not initially released on digital streaming platforms. Williams shared one of them, “Good Ol’ Days,” online last month, and now she’s released the other. Check out “Showbiz,” produced by co-writer Daniel James, below.

Another reason today is a big day for Hayley Williams is that she got nominated for four Grammy Awards. Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party is up for Best Alternative Music Album, while “Parachute” will compete for Best Alternative Music Performance. Additionally, “Mirtazapine” is up for Best Rock Performance, and “Glum” scored her a nod for Best Rock Song.

Williams won her first Grammy in 2015, for Best Rock Song, for “Ain’t It Fun.” She won two more in 2024: Best Rock Album (This Is Why) and Alternative Music Performance (“This Is Why”). She has 11 career nominations.

G Herbo Says Moneybagg Yo Is “Family,” Talks New Collab Song

by jummy84 November 7, 2025
written by jummy84

When it comes to Moneybagg Yo, G Herbo says he’s “just family”—bump the “blended” part! The rapper opened up about his relationship with Ari Fletcher‘s long-term boyfriend during a recent interview. Herbo complimented Moneybagg and shut down any speculations of past or present beef between them. His comments follow their recent stage performance, a new collab song ‘Feet On Land,’ and months of peaceful family link-ups between Ari, Taina Williams and their related kids.

G Herbo Says He & Moneybagg Yo Have Never Beefed

As mentioned, Herbo opened up about his family dynamics during an Apple Music interview with Ebro Darden. He candidly spoke about how ‘Feet On Land’ happened, and gave Moneybagg Yo plenty of props.

“We players bro…life is life, life is great…what they call it on Instagram? Blended family? It’s like just family, it ain’t even blended family. It’s just family in general,” G Herbo said.

Additionally, the Chicago artist called Moneybagg Yo “solid.” Herb also clarified that there’s never been bad blood between him and the Memphis star. Yo has been dating Ari since about 2019. While they have no children together, they’re each parents to kids from past relationships. Fletcher, for example, co-parents Yosohn with G Herbo. Meanwhile, he has gone on to welcome two more children with Taina Williams, a son named Essex and daughter named Emmy.

“We ain’t never had like no type of misunderstanding. At all.” G Herbo said. He added that their interactions were centered on music and when they would collab.

Fans Seemingly Respond Well To ‘Feet On Land’ Song

From what it sounds like ‘Feet On Land’ was a long time coming. The song is a single released by Moneybagg Yo that G Herbo hopped on. They were both in Los Angeles on Herb’s birthday (October 8), and linked up at the studio after separate outings. “Soon as he played the beat, though, I was like ‘Oh yeah this the one,’” Herb said. Moneybagg Yo has also previously shown interest in collabing too. In July, The Shade Room intervview Herb and reflected with him on Yo telling a fan “that would be hard” in response to a possible collab.

“I mean you never know what the future may bring,” the Chicago rapper said. “…We’ve never been in the studio at the same time,” he added before agreeing it would be “hard” and a treat for fans.

Well, the rapper was right about the fans part! The rappers dropped the music video to ‘Feet On Land’ on October 24 and it’s already collected over 3.2 million views and more than 3,000 comments on YouTube. As of Friday (November 7), it was number 15 on the Trending Music chart on the same platform.

After the release of their collab, Moneybagg Yo also joined Herbo on stage in Chicago to perform it. The moment had fans gagged and applauding the mature energy. Peep the vibes below.

So, What’s Up With Ari Fletcher & Taina Williams?

The “blended” family has been heavily blending since, at least, December 2024. Ari Fletcher and Taina Williams shocked fans after they partied together in Miami, and all the good vibes were caught on film. Herb was there, too.

In January, Taina appeared on Ari’s YouTube cooking show and they each cleared the air on their rocky history, including abuse allegations involving Yosohn. A few months later, in April, Taina, Emmy and Essex joined Ari and other loved ones in the Bahamas to celebrate Yosohn’s 7th birthday.

Katy Perry’s Song “Bandaids” Nods to Daughter Daisy Bloom

by jummy84 November 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Don’t let Katy Perry‘s sweet reference to her kid be the one that got away.

The “Dark Horse” singer released her music video for her new song “Bandaids” on Nov. 6, and the clip included a meaningful tribute to her 5-year-old daughter Daisy Dove Bloom, who she shares with ex Orlando Bloom.

In the video, Katy gets injured multiple times through a series of freak accidents while she seemingly sings about her breakup with Orlando, with whom she ended her engagement in June following nine years together.

“Hand to God I promise I tried / There’s no stone left unturned,” she sings on the first verse. “It’s not what you did, it’s what you didn’t / You were there but you weren’t.”

But despite being unable to fix their issues, Katy admits she doesn’t have any regrets about their love story on the bridge. At that point in the video, the “Hot ‘N’ Cold” singer spots a single daisy flower sprouting up through the otherwise barren train tracks, showing that their failed romance ultimately still gave her an immeasurable gift: her daughter.
