Andrew Garfield Not Returning for ‘The Social Network’ Sequel

by jummy84 September 29, 2025
written by jummy84

Bad news for “The Social Network” fans: Andrew Garfield won’t be reprising his role as Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin in Aaron Sorkin’s follow-up “The Social Reckoning.”

The Oscar-nominated actor, who broke out with his role in “The Social Network” in 2010, was asked by IndieWire at the New York Film Festival if he’ll appear in the upcoming sequel. “No, no,” he said, adding: “Eduardo is in Singapore having a good time.”

After ending on bad terms with his fellow Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg (a rift immortalized on film by Garfield’s scene-stealing “fuck you flip flops” monologue), Saverin emigrated to Singapore in 2009 and caused controversy when he renounced his U.S. citizenship two years later. Though some speculated Saverin made the move to avoid paying taxes, he denied the claim and said it was purely due to his “interest in living and working in Singapore.” In 2015, he co-founded the venture capital firm B Capital and is currently the richest person in Singapore.

Sorkin’s “Social Network” follow-up revealed its title, “The Social Reckoning,” and Oct. 9, 2026 release date on Friday. The Sony Pictures film will star Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, Bill Burr and Jeremy Strong, who is taking the reins from Jesse Eisenberg to play Zuckerberg.

Written and directed by Sorkin, “The Social Reckoning” is described as a companion piece to “The Social Network” and takes place two decades after the founding of the platform. It will tell the true story of how Frances Haugen (Madison), a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz (White), a Wall Street Journal reporter, to go on a dangerous journey that ends up blowing the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.

Though Garfield won’t be returning to the world of Facebook, he’s set to revisit the tech world in Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming “Artificial,” in which he’s reportedly playing OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Garfield recently collaborated with Guadagnino on the drama “After the Hunt” alongside Julia Roberts and Ayo Edebiri, which just screened at New York Film Festival after premiering at Venice.

Jeremy Allen White Has Read the Script for ‘The Social Network’ Sequel

The 63rd New York Film Festival brought The Boss to Alice Tully Hall for the NYC premiere of “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere.” Jeremy Allen White transforms into iconic rocker Bruce Springsteen for the biopic, which is set in the early ’80s during the recordings of “Born in the USA” and “Nebraska,” and co-stars Jeremy Strong, Paul Walter Hauser, Marc Maron, Gaby Hoffmann, and Odessa Young.

We caught up with White on the red carpet, who will soon go into production for the sequel to “The Social Network,” titled “The Social Reckoning.” “I have read the script, but I can’t tell you anything,” White told IndieWire. As for whether he has connected with writer and director Aaron Sorkin, White said, “Yeah, of course.” He will also reunite with Strong in this film. “I feel like every October Jeremy and I should do a movie together,” he joked.

Last week we asked Andrew Garfield, star of the first film, if there was any chance he would return for this one. “No, no,” Garfield told IndieWire. “Eduardo [Saverin] is in Singapore having a good time.” And is the actor excited to eventually see it? “Oh yeah.”

The film will open in theaters on October 9, 2026. And alongside White and Jeremy Strong as Mark Zuckerberg, Mikey Madison and Bill Burr will also star. Sorkin’s original screenplay for the film tells the true story of how Frances Haugen (Madison), a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz (White), a Wall Street Journal reporter, to go on a dangerous journey that ends up blowing the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.

But Sunday night at NYFF was all about all things Springsteen. In David Ehrlich’s review for “Deliver Me from Nowhere,” he writes that it “is a semi-desolate sketch of a biopic about a depressed 32-year-old man who channel surfs across a much better movie on TV one night in the fall of 1981. The man is Bruce Springsteen (a possessed Jeremy Allen White), the movie is Terrence Malick’s “Badlands,” and its story of a Korean War vet who takes his 15-year-old girlfriend on a killing spree across the American heartland gives the wayward rock god a newfound sense of direction that just might save his life.”

It is the latest musical biopic starring an in-demand rising actor: “A Complete Unknown” landed a slew of Academy noms, including a Best Actor nod for Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan. The four-part Beatles biopic is also in the works, with Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon.

20th Century Studios will release “Deliver Me from Nowhere” in theaters on Friday, October 24. Check out the trailer here.

Andrew Garfield on If He’ll Return for ‘Social Network’ Sequel

by jummy84 September 28, 2025
written by jummy84

The 63rd New York Film Festival celebrated its Opening Night on Friday, September 26 with Luca Guadagnino’s “After the Hunt,” its North American premiere following its debut at Venice last month. This year’s main slate includes films from 26 countries, among them two world premieres (including Bradley Cooper’s “Is This Thing On?” and Ulrich Köhler’s “Gavagai”), plus eight North American and 13 U.S. premieres.

On the red carpet, we asked star Andrew Garfield if there is any hope to seeing him in the newly announced sequel for “The Social Network.” “No, no,” Garfield told IndieWire. “Eduardo [Saverin] is in Singapore having a good time.” And is the actor excited to eventually see it? “Oh yeah.”

Jeremy Strong Mark Zuckerberg

The film is called “The Social Reckoning,” which is being written and directed this time by Aaron Sorkin. It will open in theaters on October 9, 2026. And alongside Jeremy Strong as Mark Zuckerberg, who is actually billed third among the cast list, Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, and Bill Burr will all star.

Unrelated to the Sorkin film, we also caught up with screenwriter Nora Garrett, who made her feature writing debut with “After the Hunt.” “It all happened really quickly,” she told IndieWire of how she got involved with the Guadagnino project.

“Luca is a master of knowing what he wants and he is a master of moving with a swiftness without compromising any of his creative integrity,” she continued. “Allan Mandelbaum had come on as a producer and they sent it to Luca’s agent. Originally Luca had a scheduling conflict, but then luckily for me, it worked out.”

In Ryan Lattanzio’s review of the film, he writes, “The most recent movie ‘After the Hunt’ calls to mind is Todd Field’s “Tár,” similarly a cancel-culturally minded story set within academia, and about a female educator abusing her power. That film succeeded so well, in a way that everyone seemed to get without nose-wrinkling, because of its sense of humor about itself. ‘After the Hunt’ leaves some potential brambles of humor unpricked.”

Amazon MGM Studios will release “After The Hunt” in New York and LA theaters October 10 with a national rollout October 17. Check out the trailer here.

The Social Network Follow-Up to Star Jeremy Strong As Mark Zuckerberg

by jummy84 September 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Facebook doesn’t look anything like it did in 2010 when “The Social Network” came out, and now neither does Mark Zuckerberg. Though some names had been floating around in the trades, Sony Pictures confirmed that “Succession” star Jeremy Strong, not Jesse Eisenberg, will portray Mark Zuckerberg in Aaron Sorkin’s follow-up to “The Social Network.”

Also announced on Friday: a title for the new film, a release date, and the cast announcement. The film is called “The Social Reckoning,” which is being written and directed this time by Sorkin. It will open in theaters on October 9, 2026. And alongside Strong, who is actually billed third among the cast list, Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, and Bill Burr will all star.

It’s a helluva cast, with Madison still riding high off “Anora” and White and Strong about to share the screen in “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere,” the Bruce Springsteen biopic.

Sorkin’s original screenplay for “The Social Reckoning” tells the true story of how Frances Haugen (Madison), a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz (White), a Wall Street Journal reporter, to go on a dangerous journey that ends up blowing the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.

Todd Black, Peter Rice, Sorkin and Stuart Besser are producing the film.

“The Social Reckoning” is opening the same day as a Jessica Chastain horror film called “Other Mommy” and one of the “Avatar: The Last Airbender” animated films.

Sorkin has been teasing a follow-up to “The Social Network” since 2024 and has publicly said that he blames Facebook for the January 6 insurrection on Capitol Hill. And while this screenplay is considered original, the last time we wrote about the film, he was said to be inspired by some Wall Street Journal articles called The Facebook Files that showed some of the special rules Facebook execs had and that it was aware of its toxic effect on teens and on the emotional toll it had on friends and families with differing views — and algorithms.

“The Social Network” was directed by David Fincher and written by Sorkin, and it earned a Best Picture nomination and a Best Actor nomination for Eisenberg’s calculated performance as the Facebook founder. Sorkin though won Best Adapted Screenplay at the Oscars among the film’s three statues. It made $224.9 million worldwide.

‘South Park’ Bets on Mocking Social Gambling, Kyle’s Mom

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Predictive betting comes to South Park in episode five of the show’s sporadic yet highly-rated 27th season, when the odds on whether Kyle’s mom, who is a Jewish woman, will attack Gaza become a hot speculation at the elementary school.

It all starts with the kids of South Park Elementary placing bets on whether one of their own — a Boy Scout who insists on repeatedly informing the class that she is one of the group’s WeBlos — is a boy or a girl. Soon, Eric Cartman is going on about Kyle’s mom, one of his least favorite people in town but one he enjoys talking (and on the big screen, singing) about.

Back at the White House, Satan and President Trump are awaiting the birth of their child, who is likely to bring about the apocalypse, and are preparing for the little one’s arrival. A seemingly goober-like version of Vice President J.D. Vance is back, too, with bad news for Trump.

“Everyone is so excited for the baby,” Vance says. “Boss, you must be so excited as well. Yeah, well, excited, it is going to completely change your life, though…”

Naturally, this being South Park, Trump soon begins his efforts to kill his and Satan’s unborn child. Hi-jinks ensue. Vance’s motivations are also revealed later in the episode (but you all knew the Vice President of the United States was no goober, right?).

Plots in Washington and our favorite small Colorado mountain town once again merge after a phone call is placed from South Park to end the sports betting craze, via government intervention. FCC chief Brendan Carr ends up on the other end of the line from a frustrated Kyle and within about 10 seconds of his appearance on the show, he’s there with Trump and Satan, shitting so hard he flies around the room, and then in the hospital with a parasite called toxoplasmosis; it can be transferred from cats to humans and bring about some complications — in particular, for Carr, the loss of his freedom of speech.

As the tension around what Kyle’s mom Sheila will do about the Israel-Gaza atrocities reaches a fever pitch at South Park Elementary, she decides that it’s time that she go to Gaza and does what she needs to do. However, this is not before explaining her perspective on the seemingly endless conflict that has now come for her personally.

“You see, it’s just pure anti-Semitism,” Sheila explains in one of the show’s teachable moments. “I’m so sick of being grilled about my views on Palestine and my thoughts on Hamas, and being judged for things that are centuries old and that non-Jews know nothing about.

“Well, if they all think we should do something, then you better believe I’ll do something,” she concludes.

The episode ends with her in Israel — and she does attack. But it’s only verbal violence, as Sheila launches into a non-stop tirade-as-homage to Curb Your Enthusiasm and its pseudo-villain, Susie Greene (Susie Essman). Cue the trademark tuba, mandolin, banjo, and piano of “Frolic,” Curb theme song, as we reach what is said to be the halfway point of the 27th season of South Park.

The episode arrived a week later than planned, after the show’s creators admitted that they failed to complete it in time; Trey Parker and Matt Stone blamed their own procrastination habits for the delay. But some speculated the killing of Charlie Kirk, who was spoofed in episode two of season 27, at a speaking event in Utah that week, led to the new episode being yanked or possibly tweaked. The South Park team did manage to touch on the other major scandal of the moment with the Carr subplot, as it was his comments and veiled threats to ABC that are believed to have been the catalyst for Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show going dark last week.

Jasmine Crockett Targeted In Racist Social Media Rant By Laura Loomer

by jummy84 September 24, 2025
written by jummy84

Rep. Jasmine Crockett was once again on the receiving end of harsh words by Laura Loomer. The far-right political activist shared her controversial remarks while reacting to a video of the Texas congresswoman criticizing a House resolution honoring Charlie Kirk.

In the CNN clip, Crockett voiced she was admittedly “hurt” by knowing only two white House representatives voted against a resolution honoring Charlie Kirk. Loomer quoted the clip on X and wrote, “It hurts my heart that we have ghetto black b**ches who hate America serving in Congress.” The post immediately gained traction and garnered backlash and also support from fellow far-right conservatives.

Journalist Jemele Hill sarcastically reacted to Loomer’s words by writing, “I’m sure this was totally taken out of context,” to which the Trump ally doubled down with, “I meant every word, actually.” Hill warned her to keep the same energy IRL by replying, “Oh I know you did. Let’s see if you can keep that same energy if you see the Congresswoman in person.”

Crockett has been the subject of countless conservatives spewing racist remarks this year alone. Last month, Blaze TV host Sara Gonzales was escorted out of a town hall by security for yelling out, “Jasmine, the people of Dallas deserve better than a fake ghetto hoodrat! Do they know you’re a spoiled rich kid from Missouri?” Newsmax contributor Todd Starnes also previously claimed she is “cosplaying a gangsta,” attempting to undermine her upbringing.

In her initial sentiments on CNN’s State of the Union, Crockett was expressing her disappointment about a resolution honoring Charlie Kirk that was passed by the House.

“The rhetoric that Charlie Kirk continuously put out there was rhetoric that specifically targeted people of color. It is unfortunate that even our colleagues could not see how harmful his rhetoric was, specifically to [people of color],” she expressed.

Joseline Hernandez Reminds Social Media Why She’s Been That Girl

Over the weekend, a video post was shared on Joseline Hernandez’s Instagram account, captioned, “A never seen before interview of me Curated by @thegirljt 🤑”

JT appeared to be recording Hernandez as the Puerto Rican princess shouted her out.

“Shout out to my b***h, JT. I love her, she’s an icon, she’s everything — she’s the moment, and she’s amazing. She’s beautiful, she’s sexy,” Hernandez told the camera when JT jumped in and asked Joseline about herself and why others can’t style her.

In turn, Hernandez explained that she’s been an It-girl and has been “wearing Chanel.”

“She was one of the only Puerto Rican, Black girls you seen on ‘Love & Hip Hop’ wearing Chanel,” Hernandez explained before JT hyped up her makeup.

As she continued hyping herself up, Hernandez made sure to let viewers know that her jewelry collection is also not something to play with. Ultimately, Hernandez explained that style isn’t something you can put on. In her opinion, it’s something that’s either in you or not, and she has hers on lock.

Peep the footage of her poppin’ it by clicking here.

Before Reminding Social Media Why She’s Been That Girl, Joseline Hernandez Opened Up About Motherhood

Before reminding social media why she’s been that girl, Joseline Hernandez opened up about her experience in motherhood. As The Shade Room previously reported, earlier this month, Hernandez took to social media to share footage of herself hitting a dance step alongside her daughter, Bonnie Bella. Furthermore, the pair were dancing to her recently released single, ‘I Like The Way You Are.’

In the caption of the clip, Hernandez explained that she is “being the best mother” she can be.

” hey said I wasn’t going to be a good mother or they said I was this and that and not fit to be a nurturing mom or a caring Mother! I’m with my seed every step of the way! I’m the #mother I never had! And I’m enjoying the process,” she wrote.

Who Is Sahil Kumar Linked To Disha Patani’s Sister Khushboo Patani? Read To Know More About The Social Media Influencer

by jummy84 September 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s elder sister, Khushboo Patani, recently came into the spotlight after one of her remarks sparked a major controversy. The issue escalated so much that gunshots were fired outside her family home in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The matter began when Khushboo criticized religious preacher Aniruddhacharya Ji Maharaj for his disapproval of live-in relationships. However, her statement was misinterpreted and linked to Premanand Ji Maharaj, who is also known for his strict views against modern relationships among youth.

Khushboo Patani

Although Khushboo later clarified that she had not spoken against Premanand Ji Maharaj, the situation took a violent turn. The Dhelana brothers, Virendra and Mahendra, openly admitted to firing at her house and threatened that anyone insulting Sanatan Dharma would face dire consequences. Born on 23 November 1991 in Bareilly, Khushboo Patani has worn many hats in her career. A former officer in the Indian Army, she served with distinction from 2013 until 2024, retiring with the rank of Major. After completing her service, she transitioned into the fitness and wellness industry, becoming a popular fitness influencer and certified nutritionist.

Khushboo Patani

On Instagram, where she regularly posts workout routines and health tips, she has built a following of more than 1.6 million people. She is also the author of a book on fitness and lifestyle. Let us tell you that Khushboo hails from a Kumaoni Rajput family. Her father, Jagdish Singh Patni, is a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, while her mother, Padma Patni, worked as a Health Inspector. She also has a younger brother, Suryansh Patni.

Khushboo Patani

Her early education took place at BBL Public School in Bareilly. She later earned a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from DIT School of Engineering, Greater Noida. Motivated by a sense of service, she cleared the competitive exams to join the Indian Army in March 2013, where she served for over a decade. On the personal front, Khushboo’s name has often been associated with musician Sahil Kumar, a member of the Delhi-based band Twin Strings. While rumors suggested they were in a relationship, Khushboo has never publicly confirmed it, however, Sahil is now married to singer Pavitra Krishnan.

Walls.io social walls bring content to life across devices and event displays.

Accessibility, privacy, and security are now non-negotiable for any event. If an organization wants to be inclusive, trustworthy, and future-proof, these are the things they need to think about. Walls.io is stepping up to the challenge with social walls that not only engage audiences but also make compliance, inclusivity, and user protection a top priority at every level.

Attendees can engage freely, knowing their activity isn’t being monitored or sold to outside vendors.

Being an EU-based company, Walls.io is fully GDPR-compliant, and also aligns with California’s CCPA. Enterprise clients can sign GDPR-ready Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and rely on carefully vetted EU-based sub-processors. Hosting is exclusively managed on AWS servers in Frankfurt, Germany, ensuring data stays within the EU. By removing unnecessary risks, Walls.io makes it easy for brands to stay compliant while protecting attendee privacy.

Security that goes the extra mile

Accessibility and privacy are strengthened by robust security. Walls.io supports two-factor authentication (2FA) for all accounts (main, admin, and moderator). Whether through Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or password managers like 1Password, setting up 2FA is straightforward and effective.

This added layer of protection ensures that sensitive data, event content, and user interactions remain secure. For companies hosting large-scale or high-profile events, it’s an essential safeguard that reinforces brand credibility.

A modern solution for forward-thinking events

Walls.io is more than just a content display—it’s a reflection of modern event values. By combining easy access, strict privacy rules, and strong security features, it helps event organizers to give audiences a trusted experience.
