Diddy Reportedly Caught Drinking Homemade Alcohol in Prison Weeks After Declaring Sobriety

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ pledge to remain sober appears to have hit a snag while serving time in federal prison. According to TMZ, the music mogul was caught with homemade alcohol inside Fort Dix, the low-security New Jersey facility where he is currently incarcerated.

Sources told the outlet that Diddy had been drinking a fermented mixture of Fanta, sugar, and apples — a concoction commonly made by inmates and left to ferment for about two weeks. Prison officials reportedly discovered the alcohol and initially planned to move Diddy to another unit, though that decision was later reversed.

Just last month, Diddy spoke to the judge about his sobriety during sentencing, stating that he was sober for the first time in 25 years and acknowledging how substance use had affected his life. In a letter to the court, he wrote, “The old me died in jail and a new version of me was reborn. Prison will change you or kill you — I choose to live.”

Recent photos published showed Diddy in the Fort Dix prison yard appearing upbeat and social with other inmates. The 54-year-old was convicted in July on two counts of violating the Mann Act and sentenced to 50 months in prison this past October. He was transferred to Fort Dix last week.

When contacted by press, a prison official said they had “no information” about the reported alcohol incident.

Jessica Simpson Celebrates 8 Years of Sobriety

Jessica Simpson is celebrating eight years of sobriety.

The singer, fashion entrepreneur and reality TV personality marked the milestone on Friday (Nov. 1) with a reflective Instagram post, sharing how giving up alcohol transformed her life and creativity.

“8 years ago today I made the choice to confront, to confess and to let go of the self-sabotaging parts of my life that I was choosing,” Simpson wrote. “Making that decision allowed me to fully live in the pursuit of God’s purpose for my life. Alcohol silenced my intuition, blocked my dreams and chased my circulating fears of complacency.”

She continued, “Today I am clear. Today I am driven by faith. Both fear and faith are something that we feel and may not see, I’m so happy I chose faith over fear. It was not in the fight that I found my strength, it was in the surrender.”

The “With You” singer has been open about her journey to sobriety since revealing in her 2020 memoir Open Book that she quit drinking in 2017.

Earlier this year, Simpson told The Cut that getting sober also reshaped her songwriting process. “Every time I would write, I was a little afraid of myself. It was almost too much, especially because I was drinking at the time,” she said in a February 2025 cover story alongside sister Ashlee Simpson. “But once I gave up the alcohol, the fears just diminished. They went away.”

She added, “And it was so much easier for me to access myself artistically. I’d thought the more I drank, the more cool I could be and find cool words that would rhyme, that wouldn’t be so expected. I overthought it when I drank.”

Jason Isaacs marks 27 years of sobriety

Jason Isaacs has reflected on 27 years of sobriety.

Jason Isaacs has been sober for 27 years

The 62-year-old actor made a rare foray onto Instagram to mark the milestone on Sunday (05.10.25) as he issued an optimistic message to his followers.

In a lengthy post on the social media platform, Jason wrote: “27 years ago the sun rose on the first 24 hours I’d had clean of drugs or alcohol in my entire adult life. I didn’t wake up that way because I didn’t wake up. I hadn’t been to bed.

“To keep away from temptation and to avoid tearing up my floorboards (again), or searching every item of clothing (again) – both surprisingly fruitful over the previous days – I’d spent the entire night naked in a high street sauna with a procession of bemused cab drivers.

“I had no idea how long it would last but that morning, as I emerged blinking, pink and massively over-cooked, I felt something I hadn’t felt for decades. Hope.”

The Harry Potter star continued: “I’d got through one night. Who knew what was possible?

“One step at a time, one day at a time, sometimes one hour, one deep breath, or even one inhumanely large bar of chocolate at a time, it’s now 27 years.”

Jason explained that he was informing his followers of the milestone to show them that “there’s always a way back”.

The White Lotus actor wrote: “Why am I telling you?

“Because whilst I’ve given up using social media platforms to try to fight the worst excesses of human and political behaviour, though most of what I see magnified on here is hatred posing as purpose, prejudice disguised as virtue and, most importantly, the total absence of nuance that comes from mob-think, it’s just possible that you might be reading this and be unable to ignore, as I was, a different life for yourself.”

Isaacs added: “So I’m writing to say that it’s possible.

“If you ask for help. You don’t have to do it the way I did, but however far gone you think you are, however irreversible you think your situation is, there’s always a way back. A way forward. A way back to the surface. Always. Just take the first baby step and surrender.”

Jason finished his post by thanking those who have supported him in his sobriety journey.

He said: “Thank you to everyone who helped and continues to help me try and stay sane in an insane world. Often just by laughing at me.

“It’s not false modesty or humility to say that I couldn’t have done it without you – I tried doing it by myself for years and failed every single time.

“I’m so grateful to be present in life, even for the awful things, the painful things, the scary things. I ran from them before and now, sometimes, not always, I run at them. I show up.

“Good luck. You can do it. X.”
