Snapped: Above & Beyond (A Photo Essay)

Trance legends Above & Beyond culminated their US tour at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountainview, CA with a celebration of their album release and the announcement of their forthcoming flagship show location: Above & Beyond Group Therapy 700 at The Gorge. A&B have a rich history at The Gorge, previously holding their milestone ABGT250 in 2017, as well as their Group Therapy Weekender festivals in 2019, 2022 and 2023 – a multi-day affair showcasing talent across each of the Anjuna labels.

As with all of their 13 outdoor amphitheatre tour shows, their Shoreline Amphitheatre appearance featured A&B’s new custom stage production, which first debuted at Coachella earlier this year.

“It’s been years since we’ve had an electronic album to celebrate. – getting the chance to refresh our show; and bringing it to so many amazing venues in North America. Coming to Mountain View for the “grand finale” felt emotional. There was something in the air that night: Not only were we saying our goodbyes to our team, going through all the amazing moments of the Bigger Than All Of Us Tour; but got to share the whole thing with you. Thanks to everyone there that night – got us already excited to return to the Gorge!” – Paavo of Above & Beyond

Snapped: Midnight Lovers Reimagines DTLA’s Bar Franca (A Photo Essay)

Purveyors of “high energy sublime dance-floor euphoria” Midnight Lovers have relaunched Downtown LA’s Bar Franca with a new vision that’s already bringing fresh life to the heart of downtown. A Danley sound system adds warmth to the “sultry blend of jazz, funk, disco, house, and Balearic beats curated by Midnight Lovers,” as gold lighting sets the tone for the bar – a collaboration between Gabriel Orta of Broken Shaker and Bar Lab Collective and Jonny Child, Assistant Bar Manager of Bathtub Gin LA.

“Highlights include The Lover, a mezcal-based mix of watermelon, hibiscus, and citrus cordial, and the Al Pastor Margarita, a tequila cocktail kissed with pineapple and chorizo spice in tribute to DTLA’s late-night taquerias. Zero-proof creations like the Bonfire Water, blending Optimist Smokey Botanical and Lyre’s orange, mirror the same craft and depth.”

If you’re in LA this weekend, join Kamma & Masalo and Suze Ijó as they make their LA debut Saturday night, November 15.

Snapped: Seth Troxler’s 40th Birthday in Ibiza (A Photo Essay)

by jummy84 October 29, 2025
written by jummy84

What happens when artists, celebrities, industry tycoons, and a swarm of dance music aficionados fly into Ibiza to celebrate DJ, producer and cultural curator Seth Troxler’s 40th birthday? According to many, the event of the decade – and according to Seth’s long time friend Bill Patrick, absolute chaos.

The nonstop run of festivities started with a Circoloco show at DC10, where Seth did a b2b with Carl Craig, and red clown wigs and noses were handed out to all in attendance. After historic rains and flooding took the island by storm, the crew returned to form with a “Slim Aarons Palm Springs” themed party, featuring Carl Craig, Eric Duncan (Rub & Rug), Jonny Rock and Rob Mello on the decks.

“What can one say about themselves at 40? I made it — some of my friends are no longer here. I’ve experienced both the greatest pleasures and the deepest pains of my life. I think it’s the variety that makes this prison so welcoming and subversive. For years, I threw parties centered on excess. My 40th was no different — but here’s what I realized: when you have one of the biggest floods in Ibiza in recent history, the bright idea of getting 150 of my friends to trip at the same time, dressed like the Rat Pack meets Pee-wee Herman, was maybe a step too far. And yet, just like life itself, the party was a chaotic mix — something between The Truman Show and Gaspar Noé’s Climax, but styled after The B-52s.” -Seth Troxler

Special thanks to Bill Patrick for the images, who also happens to be the co-host of the podcast Flirting With Friendship alongside Seth. Bill’s story spans New York’s legendary nightlife scene, Berlin’s underground, and stages around the world.

“I’m thankful no one died, and that the show has been renewed for another season. Long live the mentalist, while also closing the chapter on a different time.” -Seth Troxler

Snapped: Sonic Alchemist REZZ’s Second Edition Of PORTAL (A Photo Essay)

by jummy84 October 17, 2025

If you’ve not yet heard producer/artist/DJ REZZ’s music, today is the day. Her work is unlike anything you’ve ever heard, or likely ever will. Simultaneously introspective yet emotive, REZZ’s midtempo cinematic bass music ranges from hypnotic minimal tech to dark industrial, but mostly lives in the realm of the unexplored. Her live shows carry the same otherworldly ethos, accompanied by her groundbreaking PORTAL visuals – a nod to her ever-swirling, hyper-dilated eyes that come alive on stage.

REZZ’s recent PORTAL show at the Tacoma Dome set a new personal milestone as her largest headline show to-date, in front of an audience of 15,000. As the first female DJ to headline Coachella’s Sahara Stage and the first to host an all-female lineup at Red Rocks, REZZ continues to push boundaries and break barriers.

Snapped: The Long Feng Art Car – A Cultural Phenomenon (A Photo Essay)

by jummy84 October 4, 2025
written by jummy84

With the likes of Vintage Culture, Damian Lazarus, Gordo, Colyn, Lee Foss, Arodes b2b AMÉMÉ, Kaz James and more gracing its decks at Burning Man last month, the AAPI-inspired art car did more than turn heads. It served as a cultural bridge between East and West. Concepted from the forms of the dragon, the phoenix, the pearl and the five elements, the extraordinary moving art piece brought thousands together through its groundbreaking visuals and sound.

“We built Long Feng with the precision of a tailor — every cut intentional, and every detail curated.” Mark Alan Diaz, Long Feng Creative Director

In addition to its moving, contorting robotics and full complement of mind blowing visuals, Long Feng leaves nothing on the table when it comes to sound design, including components from Funktion-One, NST Audio and Full Fat Audio. Adding to the immersive sensory experience are “performers, circus artists, and immersive storytelling that literally unfold with the music.”

Next time you’re on The Playa – or wherever else Long Feng is making an appearance, make sure you carve out some time to take it all in. It was definitely a highlight of my burn.

Snapped: KLP’s Ibiza Debut at Hï (A Photo Essay)

Australian vocalist, producer, DJ and dance music trailblazer KLP recently brought her community vision to Ibiza’s superclub Hï. Her collaborative programming included a “Sweat It Out” writing camp that incorporated 50 international artists as well as a string of night clubs. The Platinum-certified artist has been getting solid rotation on BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM and Australia’s triple j, as the momentum continues to build.

“Together, these initiatives reflected KLP’s vision of fostering connection between rising talent and established names — a mission she champions as both an artist and as part of the A&R team shaping Sweat It Out’s future.”

KLP also released her latest single today – the ultra vibey “This is Our Haus”. The track emerged from the same Sweat It Out sessions and Spotify’s EQUAL Writing Camp, “a pioneering initiative curated by KLP to bring women and gender expansive talent together with the new guard in dance music.” Co-writers included Tiff Cornish and SIPPY, with vocals from Loosie Grind. Have a listen below. Special thanks to Andrew James Peters for the images.

Snapped: Dirtybird Campout x Northern Nights (A Photo Essay)

In its second year at its new location in Northern Arizona’s blissful Playa Ponderosa, Desert Hearts Festival proved yet again why it’s considered one of the tightest knit families in dance music. Nestled within the world’s largest ponderosa pine forest, some of today’s (and tomorrow’s) most notable artists delivered their inspired sets at 7,000 feet elevation.

Dirtybird Campout and Northern Nights Music Festival, two of Northern California’s most celebrated independent music festivals, will converge on the Humboldt/Mendocino County Line at Cook’s Valley Campground – a stunning location surrounded by towering California Redwoods on the Eel River – to present an extraordinary weekend of music, art, cannabis, wellness, and community from July 18-20. Fans from both communities can look forward to a dynamic, genre-spanning lineup that blends Dirtybird’s signature sound and beloved artists with Northern Nights’ eclectic music curation and cutting-edge cannabis experience. The picturesque Northern Nights venue will come alive with programming reminiscent of the early Dirtybird Campout days – where fan-favorite moments like the legendary end of weekend Family Set reigned supreme – and surprise back to back sets, label and collective takeovers, triumphant sunrise sets, adult summer camp spirited games and activities, and an abundance of unexpected and unforgettable moments are in store.
