Intocable Gets SiriusXM Channel

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, and a nod to Intocable‘s 30-year legacy, the band from Texas will get its own limited-run channel on SiriusXM.

This will be the first time the radio platform will have a dedicated channel hosted by a norteño music group, according to a press release, with Intocable Radio taking over SiriusXM’s Águila (ch. 153) from Sept. 19-21.

Intocable’s frontman, Ricky Muñoz, will be the guest DJ taking listeners on a “special journey” that will not only highlight the group’s impressive catalog but also honor the artists who’ve influenced the band along the way. The programming will also include anecdotes, never-before-heard stories about the group’s decades-long career and feature a variety of songs from Ana Gabriel, Chris Stapleton, George Strait, Joan Sebastian, Los Bukis and Selena, among other artists.

“We’re grateful to be able to represent our Latin community as the first regional Mexican/norteño group to have a dedicated channel on SiriusXM,” Muñoz tells Billboard. “We’re grateful to the entire team, and we hope listeners enjoy it. The experience was incredible! We were able to relive career moments, talk a little more about the music we grew up listening to, and the songs that have brought us to where we are today. Again, thank you to the SiriusXM team for allowing us to join them in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.”

Intocable Radio will be available throughout the weekend on channel 153 for SiriusXM subscribers in their cars and on the SiriusXM app.

With eight No. 1 LPs on the Top Latin Albums chart — including Sueños (2002), La Historia (2003) and Highway (2016) — the tejano pioneers have stood the test of time soundtracking multigenerational homes on both sides of the border. Intocable is set to be honored with their very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.

His Annual SiriusXM Salary Explained – Hollywood Life

Howard Stern has hosted The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM since 2006, becoming one of the highest-paid radio personalities in the world. The 71-year-old’s massive contracts with the company have made him a broadcasting legend and earned him the nickname “King of All Media.”

In mid-2025, rumors began swirling that the show would be canceled when Howard’s deal expires later this year, with reports suggesting SiriusXM could no longer cover his massive salary. Howard quickly set the record straight on air, joking that Andy Cohen would replace him before clarifying, “None of this is real; they were trying to create a story. I don’t know what they’re talking about.”

With speculation about his contract and career future at an all-time high, fans want to know: just how much is Howard worth in 2025, and what does he really make at SiriusXM? Find out everything to know about his financial standing below.

What Is Howard Stern’s SiriusXM Salary?

Howard has been earning between $80 million and $120 million per year with SiriusXM, according to several outlets. In December 2020, the radio host signed a five-year contract extension with the broadcast company for more than $100 million per year. The five-year contract is worth between $500 million and $600 million.

What Is Howard Stern’s Net Worth Today?

Howard currently has a net worth of $650 million, per Celebrity Net Worth.

Is ‘The Howard Stern Show’ Being Canceled?

Despite previous reports, The Howard Stern Show is not being canceled, at least according to Howard himself.

“Now I can’t leave. (Screw) you and these rumors,” Stern said on September 8, 2025, adding that SiriusXM executives have approached him “as they normally do and they’re fantastic. They’ve been nothing but lovely. We’ve been talking.” He also reassured listeners, “I’m very happy at Sirius.”

On August 5, 2025, The U.S. Sun reported that the show would end after Howard’s current contract expires at the close of the year. An insider claimed SiriusXM was planning to make an offer they didn’t expect him to accept.

“Sirius and Stern are never going to meet on the money he is going to want,” the source told the outlet, adding that Howard’s radio show is “no longer worth the investment.” The source also argued there was “no way” SiriusXM could keep paying Stern’s salary, pointing to other high-profile late-night cuts, including Stephen Colbert’s.

“After you saw what happened with Stephen Colbert, it’s like they just can’t afford to keep him going,” the source added.

Howard Stern pranks listeners, fakes he’s leaving SiriusXM — he’s not – National

Howard Stern gave listeners a shock on Monday morning when Andy Cohen took over his timeslot and claimed the channel was now called “Andy 100.”

The stunt came after weeks of promos that promised a big reveal, following swirling speculation that Stern’s show would be cancelled. “The tabloids have spoken: Howard Stern fired, cancelled,” one promo video said. “Is it really bye-bye Booey?”

“I know that you’re expecting a big announcement from Howard, and this is not how things were meant to go,” Cohen, 57, said on-air Monday morning. “There’s been a lot of talk about what’s going to happen with Howard’s deal. Is he fired? I don’t know how much I’m allowed to say, except that he’s not here and I am.”

“Howard was supposed to start the show today, and this was supposed to be something of a cleaner hand-off. There is nothing clean about it. Here we are. I’m kind of winging it,” Cohen continued. “I can’t overstate what Howard has meant to this company and what he did for SiriusXM. He walked so that we could run. I can’t possibly fill his void.”

The Real Housewives executive producer went on to say that he was confident that Stern would land a position on another platform soon, before the popular radio host joined him on air and thanked him for going along with the prank.

Stern, 71, took over and confirmed that he would be continuing to work with SiriusXM after rumours began that he hadn’t been renewed.

“I was just getting so f—ing annoyed with everyone writing me, asking me if I was OK because I’d been fired,” Stern began.

“I’m minding my own business, enjoying my summer vacation. [A reporter] says that I’ve been fired for being too woke. In light of the Stephen Colbert firing — because the word on Stephen was that it was all part of this merger, and they fired Stephen because he’s too woke — the story then became ‘Howard Stern is fired because he’s too woke,’” Stern said Monday. “What pisses me off is that now I can’t leave. I’ve been thinking about retiring. Now I can’t.”

“Everything you’ve been reading in the paper about me or Robin [Quivers] is completely false,” Stern added.

After confirming his return to the show on Monday, Stern also hinted that “one of the positive things” about the situation was hearing other companies’ interest in The Howard Stern Show.

“I’m very happy at Sirius,” Stern said before praising SiriusXM CEO Jennifer Witz.

Witz had previously released her own statement about Stern, saying, “I think he’s been core to our platform for over 20 years, so I’m confident we’ll get to the right place.”

Speculation grew after Stern postponed his return from a summer break last week. His show told listeners that he would address the topic of his SiriusXM deal when he returned on Sept. 2, but he postponed the show’s return until Sept. 8.

Stern did not share if he had signed a new contract with SiriusXM as his current deal expires at the end of 2025.

“Here’s the truth: SiriusXM and my team have been talking about how we go forward in the future. They’ve approached me, they’ve sat down with me like they normally do, and they’re fantastic,” Stern shared.

Stern joining what was then Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. in 2006 made him one of the highest-paid personalities in broadcasting and was a game changer for both the company and the nascent satellite radio industry.

Stern extended his contract with SiriusXM twice before, in 2010 and again in 2020, with a five-year, US$500-million deal, Forbes reported.

“He’s been with me and the company going on two decades, and so he’s pretty happy, but he’s also able, like many great artists, to stop whenever he wants,” SiriusXM president and chief content officer Scott Greenstein told The Hollywood Reporter in 2024. “Nobody will ever replace them. We would never try to replace them.”

Howard Stern Trolls Media As He Addresses Future with SiriusXM

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Following reports over the summer that his SiriusXM program would be canceled at the end of his contract in 2025, Howard Stern addressed the speculation head-on with a spectacular troll job on Monday. In his first episode back from summer break, Stern pranked the media by handing the mic to his friend Andy Cohen, who pretended that Stern had parted ways with SiriusXM and taken over the show.

“I know you’re expecting a big announcement from Howard, and this is not how things were meant to go,” Cohen said. This was supposed to be a cleaner hand off — I’m kind of winging it.” Within minutes, The Associated Press and other media outlets ran headlines about Cohen replacing Stern.

Eventually, the prank was revealed, as Stern took over the mic to finally address his future. “Everything you’ve been reading about me in the paper… is completely false,” Stern began. “I was just getting so fucking annoyed with everyone writing me, asking me if I was okay because I’d been fired.”

Stern proceeded to recap recent events, noting how the media reported he had been fired “for being too woke. Stern scoffed, “I still don’t even know what that means. “If I’m woke, okay who gives a fuck? … Sirius employs a lot of woke people and a lot of right-wingers, too.”

“Then all of a sudden, I’m sitting home and everybody I know in my world, even peripherally, is writing me. ‘Are you okay, are you okay?’ ” he continued. “None of it is true, zero truth.”

“What pisses me off is now I can’t leave. I’ve been thinking about retiring, now I can’t.”

While Stern did not elaborate on whether he has reached a new contract extension with SiriusXM, he said he is “very happy” at the company and praised its CEO, Jennifer Witz.

Howard Stern’s Show Canceled at SiriusXM, Andy Cohen Takes Over Channel

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Howard Stern‘s run on SiriusXM has come to an end after 20 years.

Last month, amid a spate of rumors and speculation that Stern’s SiriusXM deal was not being renewed, Stern gleefully turned the chatter into a tune-in promo. His show told listeners he would address the topic on the Sept. 2 episode of “The Howard Stern Show”; however, last week, he postponed the reveal until Sept. 8 — indicating that a deal was not yet done.

On Monday morning, on Stern’s Channel 100 on SiriusXM, it wasn’t Stern who came on the air — it was Andy Cohen who introduced himself and said that the channel going forward will now be known as “Andy 100.”

“I know you’re expecting a big announcement from Howard, and this is not how things were meant to go,” Cohen said. “This was supposed to be a cleaner hand off — I’m kind of winging it,” he continued, saying that it has been a “surreal morning here.”

Added Cohen, “I can’t possibly fill his void” and said he was confident Stern would land on another platform soon.

Stern, who is 71, first signed with satellite radio broadcaster Sirius in 2004 (prior to its merger with XM), in part to be free of oversight by the FCC, which had levied millions of dollars in fines on terrestrial radio stations that carried his show for alleged indecency. “The Howard Stern Show” debuted on Sirius in January 2006. His most recent five-year renewal with SiriusXM was inked in 2020.

Last week, SiriusXM execs acknowledged that talks with Stern were ongoing but that they hoped to ink a new deal. “I think he’s been core to our platform for over 20 years, so I’m confident we’ll get to the right place,” SiriusXM CEO Jennifer Witz said Sept. 3 at an investment conference.

Stern’s original deal with Sirius was worth $500 million over five years including stock. His more recent renewals “topped out at roughly $80 million to $100 million,” according to Bloomberg. Regarding a Bloomberg report in 2020 that Stern was nearing a deal with SiriusXM worth $120 million annually, Stern said on his show at the time that he and his agent were “kind of baffled by it.”

Over the years, the notoriously ribald Stern has interviewed hundreds of actors, comedians, music artists, athletes, politicians and more on his show. At his side for most of his career have been co-host Robin Quivers, write Fred Norris and producer Gary “Baba Booey” Dell’Abate.

SoundExchange Appeals SiriusXM Royalties Lawsuit Dismissal

SoundExchange Appeals SiriusXM Royalties Lawsuit Dismissal

by jummy84 September 6, 2025
written by jummy84

A major court ruling last month found that SoundExchange doesn’t have the power to collect royalties through litigation. Now, the organization has launched an appeal in hopes of preserving this enforcement strategy.

SoundExchange’s notice of appeal on Friday (Sept. 5) challenges an August federal court ruling that dismissed its $400 million lawsuit against SiriusXM. Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald held in her decision that SoundExchange, a nonprofit designated by the Copyright Royalty Board to collect performance royalties for artists, does not actually have the right to sue anybody under federal law.

Related

This ruling was the first to weigh in on SoundExchange’s standing to collect recorded royalties via lawsuits, and the implications are big. For more than a decade, the organization has regularly used litigation to secure hundreds of millions of dollars in royalties from radio broadcasters like SiriusXM and music streamers such as Slacker and Napster.

Already, music companies are trying to use Judge Buchwald’s ruling in their favor. Just weeks after the decision came down, Sonos told a court that it will file a motion to dismiss its own pending SoundExchange royalties lawsuit based on the rationale in the SiriusXM case.

Faced with the possibility of losing a key enforcement strategy, SoundExchange is standing firm and using an appeal to go on the offensive. The group wants the Second Circuit Court of Appeals to reverse Judge Buchwald, calling the decision an “erroneous ruling and flawed interpretation” of the Copyright Act in a statement on Friday.

“As Congress surely realized in creating the statutory license, some licensees will seek any available means to avoid paying artists for the full value of their work to maximize profitability,” said SoundExchange in the statement. “For the statutory license to function properly, SoundExchange fully believes Congress intended that the ‘enforcement’ power clearly granted in the statute must necessarily include the ability of its administrator to bring litigation claims when digital music services fail to meet their obligations under the law.”

“In the meantime,” continues the statement, “SoundExchange will continue in its mission of securing fair compensation for artists and rights owners and looks forward to arguing its case in court.”

A rep for SiriusXM did not immediately return a request for comment on the appeal.

The SoundExchange lawsuit against SiriusXM, brought in 2023, accused the satellite radio giant of “gaming the system” with manipulative bundling to withhold more than $150 million in performance royalties up to that point.

SoundExchange says SiriusXM has continued to apply this “faulty methodology” in the years since and now owes more than $400 million to artists and labels. SiriusXM denies all of SoundExchange’s claims.
