Taylor Swift Talks ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ Vinyl & CD Packaging, Art

Seated in front of a backdrop reminiscent of a floral watercolor painting — perhaps a reference to artist John Everett Millais’ Hamlet-inspired work “Ophelia,” which fans theorize influenced “The Fate of Ophelia” singer’s pose on her new album cover — Taylor Swift talks about the visual art of upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl in a promo clip released by her Taylor Nation team on Saturday (Sept. 20).

“The photo shoot that we did with Mert and Marcus [Mert Alaş and Marcus Piggott] was so extraordinary and I was so happy with it that I just wanted the fans to have as many images from this sort of world, this album era, as possible,” Swift says in the brief video. “And so I really spent a lot of time figuring out how I could make the best vinyl product and the best packaging and the best CD experience that they could have.”

As Swift explains in the clip: “The CDs all have photo cards in them. The vinyls, they each have a poem inside of them, a unique poem. They’ve got more images than we ever planned to put in there.”

The Life of a Showgirl has so far been made available for pre-order in its standard format on CD and vinyl, and in various special editions — with different covers and extras, like the aforementioned photo cards — in limited (now sold-out) quantities on Swift’s official webstore. Target also released an exclusive edition CD pre-order.

Swift adds of the album art, “We chose this really high-gloss finish which I’ve never done before, and I think it looks so cool. We wanted this album to feel really luxurious and kind of as a nod to the luxury that a showgirl puts on when she’s on stage. Meanwhile, in the quick-change room she’s like [out of breath, breathing heavily] … Maybe that’s just me, I don’t know.”

“It’s all just something I’m really proud of,” says Swift, who on Friday announced her new project is also headed to select movie theaters with The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, a premiere experience that will debut her music video for album opener “The Fate of Ophelia,” behind-the-scenes footage of the shoot, lyric videos and personal reflections on the collection’s 12 tracks. “It took a lot of time to put together, a lot of concentration, a lot of organization, but hopefully it pays off. I hope the fans are happy.”

Also on the Showgirl promotional calendar: an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, set for broadcast on the BBC on her 12th studio album’s release date, Oct. 3.

Taylor Swift Fans Are Clocking Major Reputation Easter Eggs in Her Latest Showgirl Outfit

by jummy84 September 21, 2025
written by jummy84

Just when I thought we were taking a break from Reputation (Taylor’s Version) theories, Taylor Swift throws a ‘fit that sends fans back into detective mode.

You see, before Swift even announced her new album, The Life of a Show Girl, she implied that fans will have to wait a very long time for her final two Taylor’s Version albums—if she ever releases them at all. After retaining ownership of her masters in May, the 35-year-old pop star revealed that while she finished re-recording her debut album, Taylor Swift, she’d yet to “even re-recorded a quarter” of Reputation (Taylor’s Version).

“Those two albums can still have their moment to re-emerge when the time is right if that would be something you guys would be excited about,” she wrote in a letter to fans. “But if it happens, it won’t be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have. It will just be a celebration now.”

Well, it’s fair to say Taylor Swift is in a celebratory mood. Not only is she newly engaged, but she’s got a brand new album dropping on October 3, alongside a theatrical event that will feature a brand-new music video and lengthy album commentary. She followed up this exciting news with a new video message to fans on September 20.

While Swift had a lot to say about her Showgirl photoshoot and vinyls, I’d like to talk about her outfit for a minute. The look certainly fits the new album’s aesthetic thanks to her burnt orange Reformation knitwear, fans noticed that her FoundRae initial necklace is “Reputation-coded” in more ways than one.

TikTok content

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

While one fan noted the Reputation font in the video’s comment section, others referenced the album’s famous “Call It What You Want” lyric, “I want to wear his initial on a chain ’round my neck, chain ‘round my neck not because he owns me but ‘cause he really knows me.” While the “T” could certainly stand for Taylor, she shares a first initial with her fiancé, Travis Kelce.

“That necklace is one of many things pointing to the rep tv vault tracks,” one fan commented on Taylor Swift style expert Sarah Chapelle’s breakdown of the look. Another wrote, “

But wait, there’s more—and Swift’s Versace Hera watch might be the key to decoding it all. The watch itself is an obvious Easter egg, as Hera is queen of all 12 Greek gods and goddesses, while The Life of a Showgirl is her 12th studio album.

With that said, is it such a stretch to clock the Medusa medallion on her Versace leather miniskirt as a Reputation reference, given the album-era’s prominent snake motif? Fans have certainly made that connection before. And what about her teal manicure, the color long-associated with her debut album?

Describing the happenings as “a dazzling soirée,” Swift wrote on Instagram that Swifties will enjoy “never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made” the “Ophelia” video plus “cut-by-cut explanations of what inspired this music and brand new lyric videos” from other new album songs.

Tickets are on sale now for AMC Theaters screenings and hundreds of others around the globe. Having dealt with zesty throngs of Swift fans when her Eras Tour film was released theatrically in 2023, AMC says “guests are welcome to sing and dance during” the screenings despite such activities being “normally prohibited during traditional showtime. To help ensure everyone’s enjoyment of the show, guests may not stand on seats or block any aisles or stairs.”

The Life of a Showgirl was produced by Max Martin and Shellback, the Swedish powerhouses who previously contributed to such Swift projects as Red and Reputation. “These guys, they’re just geniuses in different avenues and different ways,” Swift said last month on the New Heights podcast co-hosted by her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce. “We had so much more dexterity to what we do. It’s almost like we’d all grown up so much. Shellback and I were in our early 20s when we started working together. This was the time when all three of us in the room were carrying the same weight as creators. We knew we had to bring the best ideas we’ve ever had. That effervescence has come through on this record. This is the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time — 12 songs for my 12th album.”‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌

Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl: When and where to watch?

by jummy84 September 19, 2025

Taylor Swift is bringing her twelfth studio album to the big screen. The pop sensation’s new record, The Life of a Showgirl, drops on Friday, October 3, and she is marking the moment with a short-run film event. Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl will play in theaters nationwide the same day, giving fans just one weekend to catch it.

According to Harpers Bazaar, the limited engagement runs from October 3 through October 5. That is three days only – Friday through Sunday – before it disappears from theaters. Swift’s team is pitching it as part movie premiere, part album release, rolled into one experience.

Where to watch it?

AMC Theatres is at the center of the rollout. Swift already made history with them during last year’s Eras Tour concert film, and this marks the second collaboration between the star and the chain. AMC confirmed screenings will start right at showtime.

Tickets are already on sale through AMC’s website. Cinemark is also part of the launch, offering screenings in standard format as well as Cinemark XD. The XD upgrade means giant screens, wall-to-wall sound, and a more immersive setup. Both chains expect heavy demand given Swift’s past box office record.

What is inside the film

The main attraction is the world premiere of the music video for “The Fate of Ophelia,” the lead single from The Life of a Showgirl. Fans will also see behind-the-scenes footage from production, fresh lyric videos, and Swift’s personal reflections on different tracks from the album. The idea is to mix performance, process, and storytelling into one package, Harper’s Bazaar reported.

Why fans are paying attention

For Swifties, the appeal comes down to access. It is the very first look at visuals tied to the new album, all on a theater screen. Unlike The Eras Tour film, this isn’t a concert movie, but a one-off release party built for fans who want to be part of the launch weekend.

And right now, there is no streaming option on the table. If you want in, you will need a ticket and a seat at AMC or Cinemark during those three days. After October 5, it is gone.

At this point, Swift’s playbook is clear: make the album release itself into an event. And if past turnout is any clue, theaters will be packed.

FAQs:

When is Taylor Swift’s release party movie in theaters?

It runs from October 3 to October 5, 2025.

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets are available through AMC and Cinemark’s official websites.

Will there be trailers before the movie?

No. AMC confirmed the event begins right at showtime.

Taylor Swift confirmed that TS12 is on the way! With her 12th studio album in the works, Swifties everywhere are eagerly awaiting the track list, nickname, and whether she’ll return to the stage. Meanwhile, she’s also planning to drop a new concert film, Showgirl, in theaters in October.

In a September 19, 2025, Instagram post, Taylor teased that it was “time [for her] to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan…”

As we get updates from the mastermind herself, Hollywood Life has gathered everything we know so far about Taylor’s new album below.

What Is Taylor Swift’s New Album Title?

Taylor’s 12th album is titled The Life of a Showgirl. She announced the name during a teaser from her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce‘s “New Heights” podcast past midnight on August 12, 2025.

When Does TS12 The Life of a Showgirl Come Out? Release Date

Taylor revealed that her next album will be out on October 3, 2025.

How to Watch the ‘New Heights’ Podcast

Jason and Kelce drop new episodes of their “New Heights” podcast on Wednesdays via YouTube. The August 13, 2025, episode was released at 7 p.m. ET, 4 p.m. PT.

In another clip from the podcast episode, Taylor was seen holding up a briefcase with her initials, T.S., on it, as Jason said, “What do we got? We got a briefcase? Mint green, with T.S. on it. What’s in it?” Taylor then replied, “This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl,” as Jason cheered in excitement.

Is Taylor Swift Engaged to Travis Kelce?

Yes — Taylor and Travis confirmed their engagement on August 26, 2025, via a joint Instagram post that showed Travis proposing in a garden full of roses, with the playful caption, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

Is Taylor Swift Going Back on Tour for Life of a Showgirl?

Taylor has not mentioned a tour for The Life of a Showgirl, but Swifties have faith that she’ll plan one. Besides, her last one, The Eras Tour, was a massive hit around the world, so touring for her next album is likely in the cards.

Previously, a source informed Us Weekly that Taylor told her team to “give her one year” to make a decision about touring because “a lot of it hinges on what happens over the next year with Travis.”

“She had such a great experience on Eras. She really wants to do it again,” the insider told the outlet in December 2024. “She loves being with all her fans; it inspires her. … She’s told her team to give her one year to see how things go in her personal life.”

The Life of a Showgirl Tracklist Revealed

The tracklist for The Life of a Showgirl album was unveiled by Taylor in an Instagram post right as her “New Heights” podcast appearance aired on August 13. The tracklist is as follows:

  1. “The Fate of Ophelia”
  2. “Elizabeth Taylor”
  3. “Opalite”
  4. “Father Figure”

Taylor Swift‘s New Album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’: What We Know So Far

by jummy84 September 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Taylor Swift’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl is coming! Swift announced plans to release her 12th studio album in a clip from her highly anticipated appearance on her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, posted on August 12 at 12:12 a.m.

Fans were already on high alert yesterday after a number of Easter eggs were dropped (in true Taylor Swift style) by Taylor Nation, her official fan account, which reminded Swifties of the time she said “See you next era” in an August 11 Instagram. The post included several photos of Swift in orange outfits during her Eras Tour.

Adding further fuel to the speculation that something very big was coming, Kelce posted at the exact same time to Instagram, saying there would be a “VERY special guest” coming to the podcast. The teaser image notably featured a sparkly orange background.

Orange you glad we’re so tuned into these little crumbs of evidence?

Of course, particularly observant Swifties quickly noticed that the silhouette was from her Variety Directors on Directors appearance from December 2022. Iiiinteresting. All very compelling.

The Life of a Showgirl will be Swift’s first album since buying back the full rights to her first six albums. In May ,Swift announced the happy news that she had done so, writing in a note shared to her site, “All of the music I ever made…now belongs…to me.”

So how did we finally get the news of Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl and what can we expect from it? Here’s what to know.

How was Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl announced?

The Life of a Showgirl announcement landed on Swift’s website following a mysterious timer counting down to 12:12 a.m. Shocking to no one, when the countdown concluded, Swift’s site immediately crashed. When it recovered, it included limited details about her new project.

However, in a clip from her appearance on Kelce’s podcast, we saw Swift dramatically open a cream briefcase with an orange “TS” embellished on it to reveal a blurred-out vinyl. “This is my brand-new album, The Life of a Showgirl,” she said, which was followed by Jason Kelce’s screams. Showmanship at its best.

Has The Life of a Showgirl release date been confirmed?

Yes! During her appearance on the New Heights podcast, Swift revealed that the album will be released on October 3. Preorders will begin shipping on October 13.

Taylor Swift‘s upcoming album ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ has already broken a Spotify record – find out more below.

  • READ MORE: Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour comes to an end: a look at its massive global impact

The pop star is due to release her 12th studio album on October 3, following on from last year’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’. Swift shared the news of her highly anticipated album last month during her first-ever appearance on the New Heights podcast, hosted by her fiancé, Travis Kelce, and his brother Jason.

Yesterday (September 1), Spotify announced that ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ has already broken a record, a month ahead of the album’s release. Spotify wrote: “On August 31st, 2025, Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ became the most pre-saved album Countdown Page in Spotify history.”

— Spotify (@Spotify) September 1, 2025

The previous record was held by Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ in 2024. This marks Swift’s latest Spotify-dominating achievement. Over the last couple of years, she’s broken numerous records on the streaming platform, including being crowned Spotify’s most-streamed artist of 2024.

Since announcing ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’, Taylor Swift has revealed several details of the album, including its tracklisting – which includes one feature from Sabrina Carpenter – its themes and more.

Swift has described the follow-up to last year’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ as “the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time”. The project will focus on “what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life” during the record-breaking ‘Eras Tour’. Swift recorded the album in Sweden, in between shows on the huge tour.

Speaking on New Heights, Swift explained that there are “no other songs coming” beyond the standard tracklist: “With ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, I was like, ‘Here’s a data dump of everything I thought and felt in two or three years. Here’s 31 songs’. This is 12. There’s not a 13th, there’s not other ones coming.”

She most recently announced her engagement to Travis Kelce, writing in a caption on social media: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” Details of when the couple are expecting to get married have yet to be made public.

The new records were announced at the end of a vague countdown on the musician’s website

Taylor Swift is selling another vinyl version of her forthcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl after teasing the drop with a mysterious online countdown on her website that began a few hours beforehand. Swift teased the previous vinyl versions similarly. The album is set for an Oct. 3 release date.

Monday’s vinyl edition of her upcoming 12th album is called “Tiny Bubbles in Champagne” and will come in two different colors (“Under Bright Lights Pearlescent” and “Red Lipstick & Lace”), mirroring the releases before it. The “Champagne” vinyl have an alternate album cover with Swift in a bevy of red feathers while wearing a bejeweled star made up of big, round, clear jewels. According to Swift’s site, there will be only one pressing of the “Champagne” set and they are only available to order for 48 hours, with sales ending on Aug. 27 at 3:59 p.m. while supplies last. The previous vinyl sets are called the “Shiny Bug Edition” and the “Baby, That’s Show Business Edition.”

Swift previously said she wrote, produced, and recorded The Life of a Showgirl during her record-breaking Eras Tour in the summer of 2024. “I would be playing shows. I would do, like, three shows in a row. I’d have three days off,” she explained on New Heights, the podcast hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce where she first teased news of the new album. “I’d fly to Sweden, go back to the tour, and was actually working on this. I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating.”

‘The Life Of A Showgirl’

UPDATED with the latest countdown and vinyl variant: Taylor Swift has returned from her post-Eras tour hiatus with the announcement of her twelfth album, The Life of a Showgirl, out Oct. 3. The album will have 12 tracks, because of course.

In the weeks after Swift started trickling out the album launch on Aug. 12, she has posted three countdowns to her website that lead to vinyl variant covers and discs from the original orange and mint green combination. The latest alternate cover shot features Swift cloacked in red feather plumes with a bejewled crown of two stacked stars over her hair. This is the “Tiny Bubbles in Champagne” edition, which comes in either a “Bright Lights Pearlescent” vinyl or a “Red Lipstick & Lace Transparent” vinyl.

“The Shiny Bug Edition” vinyl variant came first, with one disk described as “an opaque violet vinyl with black and gold marbling and gold shimmer” and the other is the “wintergreen & onyx marbled vinyl.” Then came the “Baby, That’s Showbusiness For You” edition with the “Lovely Bouquet Golden” Vinyl and the “Lakeside Beach Blue Sparkle” vinyl.

The only featured artist on The Life of a Showgirl is Sabrina Carpenter in the title track. The rest of the track titles are as follows:

  • “The Fate of Ophelia”
  • “Elizabeth Taylor”
  • “Opalite”
  • “Father Figure”
  • Eldest Daughter”
  • “Ruin the Friendship”
  • “Actually Romantic”
  • “Wi$h Li$t”
  • “Wood
  • “CANCELLED!”
  • “Honey”
  • “The Life of a Showgirl (feat. Sabrina Carpenter)”

The album cover, which features Swift mostly submerged in water in a silvery-white beaded dress arrived at the same time that the New Heights episode dropped Wednesday. Swift read out the tracks on the podcast episode after she revealed that she had been working on The Life of a Showgirl during the European leg of the Eras tour. She said she was “physically exhausted” but also “mentally stimulated” by the project.

In Swift’s caption and on the podcast, she confirmed that she had worked with former collaborators Max Martin and Shellback on the twelfth album. She emphasized that the three of them had never made an isolated album together. She also flew back and forth to Sweden to work with them.

“It meant the world to me to have this creative experience where we knew we had to bring the best ideas we’ve ever had. I know the pressure I’m putting on this record by saying that. I don’t care. This is the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time,” Swift said of The Life of a Showgirl. “There’s no other songs coming. It’s not like with The Tortured Poet’s Department, [where] I was like ‘Here’s a data dump of everything I thought in two or three years. Here’s 31 songs. This is 12. There’s not a 13th, there’s not a 14th.”

Swift posted another countdown to her website Wednesday that involved a wooden door — reminiscent of the door through which she left the stage in her last Eras tour concert — floating down to land between four squares — an orange, dark red, lilac or light blue and white one. These colors correspond to four different Deluxe CDs — which is not uncommon in a Swift album rollout. The orange is called the “Sweat and Vanilla Perfume” Edition, the red is called the “It’s Frightening” edition, the lilac is the “It’s Rapturous” edition and the white is the “It’s Beautiful” edition. The standard vinyl is a glittery orange color with a mint green sleeve over it. The deluxe versions correspond to colored squares hidden in the background on the podcast.

The songstress had a glittery orange background up on her website Monday night counting down to 12:12 ET or 9:12 PT. At 9 p.m. ET and 7 p.m. PT, Travis and Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast announced that Swift would, indeed, be the special guest on Wednesday’s new episode, which drops at 7 p.m. ET. Fans had been speculating, some even going so far as to photoshop a picture of Swift into the mystery guest silhouette cutout on the promo shot for the episode.

Swift confirmed her brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl, in the promo video for the New Heights episode that arrived Wednesday, holding up a blurred out cover of the vinyl. A new clip with the artwork showing was then released.

“It’s everything that was going on behind the curtain,” Swift said of the theme of the album, referring to finishing an Eras tour concert and not getting to bed until 4 a.m., etc. “My main goals were melodies that were so infectious that you’re almost angry at it, and lyrics that are just as vivid byt crisp and focused and completely intentional.”
