NBC to Air Extended Taylor Swift ‘Tonight Show’ Episode

by jummy84 October 9, 2025
written by jummy84

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is set to launch a special episode this Friday — “Taylor Swift (Extended Cut)” — featuring more moments from Swift’s late night interview.

The pop star stopped by Monday’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Swift, who was all blinged out in a sparkly silver dress, covered a variety of topics, including her latest album The Life of Showgirl, released on Oct. 3. Friday’s special episode will feature additional, not-yet-released moments from Fallon’s interview with Swift.

Swift chatted about her recent engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Fallon joked he was being “blinded” by Swift’s ring, which she showed off to the host and camera. She joked that going on Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, was a “distraction” to not notice that the backyard was being decorated for the big proposal.

Later, in a game about the many rumors that swirl around the pop star, she and Fallon put some things to bed. Swift clarified through the game that she didn’t tell pal Selena Gomez that she “beat” Swift to the altar during a speech at Gomez’s recent wedding. “I did not make it about me,” she told Fallon.

She also addressed the speculation that she turned down the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime show because of a dispute over owning the footage. “No,” she told Fallon when he asked her if that’s why she didn’t want to take on the job, adding that Jay-Z and his team have always been good to her.

Monday’s show marked Swift’s seventh appearance on the show over the years. While the appearance was strictly billed as an interview — rock band The Format was the episode’s musical guest — the singer and Fallon played tracks off of Showgirl and broke them down. The crowd sang along to “Opalite,” “Wood” and “The Fate of Ophelia.” Swift cheekily told the crowd that “Wood,” her horniest track to date, started off innocent.

Swift’s 12th album, produced and written by the singer herself along with hitmakers Max Martin and Shellback, was thought to be a return to some of her most standard pop albums, like 1989, but it instead managed to be the love child of Evermore and Midnights. The album sold 2.7 million copies on release day (Oct. 3), making that day alone her largest week ever, according to Luminate via Billboard.

In addition to the album, Swift released a cinematic companion over the weekend, which included a chance to see the music video for the album’s lead single, The Fate of Ophelia, before its online release Sunday. Swift directed the video, which was filmed by frequent collaborator and Oscar-nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto, and features choreography from famed choreographer Mandy Moore, who worked on the singer’s Eras tour.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon: Taylor Swift (Extended Cut) is set to air on NBC this Friday, Oct. 10 at 11:35 p.m. local time and streams the next day on Peacock.

Wordle Game Show Hosted by Savannah Guthrie in the Works at NBC

by jummy84 October 7, 2025
written by jummy84

A game show based on the popular New York Times puzzle Wordle is in development at NBC, with Today anchor Savannah Guthrie set to host.

The project comes from Universal Television Alternative Studio and Jimmy Fallon’s Electric Hot Dog company. The Times is also a production partner. Fallon, who has talked about his love of Wordle a number of times on The Tonight Show, will be an executive producer. (Guthrie has also talked about her obsessive love for the game.)

Wordle, which the Times acquired in 2022 and logs billions of plays from the paper’s games site annually, gives players six tries to guess a five-letter word, revealing only if letters are in the right place (via a green background) or part of the word but in the wrong place (with a gold background).

Should it go forward, the Wordle show would join another Fallon-produced game show, Password, on NBC’s unscripted roster. The Tonight Show emcee also executive produces and hosts the network’s On Brand, a competition series that revolves around advertising and marketing.

Guthrie has a bit of game show experience herself, having served as a guest host on Jeopardy! in 2021 following the death of Alex Trebek. In addition to Today, Guthrie also co-hosts NBC’s annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade coverage.

Miu Miu’s Spring/Summer 2026 Show Says Apron Dresses Are Hot

With the S/S 26 Miu Miu show, Miuccia Prada wanted to remind everyone of the reality of life. Specifically, she wanted to call to mind the actuality that hard work is necessary for anything, even beauty, glamour, and fashion. Before seeing the collection or reading the show notes, guests were greeted to a transformed Palais d’léna made to look like the dining facility of a factory with long Formica tables and pink rubberized floors. Aptly, the show notes were titled Work, and the collection was described as “a consideration of the work of women—their challenges, adversity, experience. Its invisibility is confronted and addressed, recognized, and valorized.”

An Ever-Expanding Miu Miu Fan Club

Miu Miu fans have been around since 1993, when Prada created the brand, but sine the viral Miu Miu micro mini there are more tastemakers and celebrities and editors than ever vying for a coveted spot in the brand’s fan club. The Spring 2026 guests included Alexa Chung, Petra Collins, Emma Corrin, Nina Dobrev, Paloma Elsesser, Wonyoung Jang and more.

The Miu Miu Girl Wears Apron Dresses Now

The theme of ‘work’ in the collection came across instantly, as soon as the first model walked down the runway wearing a canvas blue apron. She was followed by models in protective leather aprons and drill pinafores. Sometimes these aprons were accessorized with leather belts with D-rings meant for fastening equipment. It was as if the models were just passing by guests on their way to clock in at a factory.

Later on in the show was a parade of a different kind of apron. They were more domestic and less industrial, with floral patterns and lace details more akin to those preferred by homemakers. They felt familiar, like something you perhaps grew up watching your mom or grandmother or great grandmother wear while she juggled tens of tasks at once and still managed to make you feel loved.

While the apron is often something only seen within the walls of a home or a workshop, Prada saw it as something that deserved to be platformed and considered beautiful. “The apron, as a universal symbol of work, is afforded a nobility and respect,” she wrote. “Cultural meanings of this garment can shift radically according to changes in materialization and form—from domicilary to clinical to industrial, physical labor to care-giving, primary and tertiary industries and the domestic sphere. A single garment containing multitiudes.” And now it’ll likely have it’s next multitude as an ‘It’ item that’s sure to be trending by 2026.

Only Miuccia.Prada Can Bring Back a Statement Necklace and Bandana

Aside from the D-leather belts, the apron dresses were often accessorized with chunky necklaces and bold printed bandanas. The latter are another unofficial part of the factory worker uniform, but when styled with necklaces they were reminiscent of the statement necklace craze of the mid 2010s. They’re often looked back at as a moment of classic millennial twee cringe but if anyone can bring them back, it would be Prada. Plus, twee is set for a comeback any day now, so get your whimsy—and chunky neckwear—ready.

The Reality of Clothes for a Working Life

Something that’s so special about Miu Miu is that Mrs. Prada is able to make the mundane feel worthy of adoration. She transforms items you’ve seen so many times over and thought nothing of and makes them something you suddenly desire. A couple of seasons ago she did this with bags overstuffed with a change of clothing, meant to represent the busy life so many of us live where we’re expected to be many people at once.

That overstuffed bag was maybe once something you’d feel ashamed of wearing but Mrs. P made it something cool; something to be imitated, intentionally. She is always showing us that a busy life is a beautiful one. And Spring 2026 felt like a doubling down on that narrative. Why hide the fact that you work hard instead of quite literally wearing it on your sleeve?
