Reigning champion Tom Ford begins his Snooker Shoot Out title defence on the opening day of the fast-paced tournament.

A randomised draw, single-frame matches with a 10-minute limit, and a 10/15-second shot clock are among the rule changes that make the format an exciting switch from the norm.

Action moves fast at the three-day ranking tournament, which is back at the Tower Circus in Blackpool after a decade away from the venue.

Ford takes on Martin O’Donnell in the afternoon session, while Masters champion Shaun Murphy, whose 147 in this format in 2023 was truly special, is the highest-ranked player on the table in the evening.

It may not have the history or esteem of the Triple Crown events, but even Snooker purists can’t deny that the shortened format throws up plenty of drama.

Exclusive | Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Rashmika Mandanna to shoot in Chhatarpur, Gurugram for Cocktail 2; deets inside

Actors Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna will start their Delhi leg of Cocktail 2 shoot in a few days and we have all the details right here! HT City has exclusively learnt that contrary to reports it won’t be a month long shoot but only a few days some South Delhi spots amongst other places.

Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna will soon land in New Delhi.

The actors recently wrapped up the Europe leg of the shooting schedule and will soon head to the capital for some crucial scenes, which will be divided between Delhi and Gurgaon.

A source tells us, “No, it’s not a month long shoot here. They will be shooting in Delhi from November 11 to November 20. “

Specific locations have been locked in Delhi for the film as the source reveals, “It’s mostly outdoor shoot. They will be shooting in Chhatarpur and Gurugram apart from some other locations in South Delhi.”

With the AQI levels crossing 300 in Delhi, the team of the film is taking special precautions for a smooth shooting schedule of the film.

From air purifiers in vanity vans and rooms to wearing masks on sets, the production is going all out for a safe and productive shoot time.

Additionally the source says, “There will also be water sprinklers on sets and will be used every day before shoots and if need be between takes to ensure a safer environment.”

While the cast of the film has yet to arrive in Delhi, director Homi Adajania posted a story from an airplane, hinting at already flying to Delhi. Although he didn’t mention the location and teased fans by writing “Go Figure. #Cocktail2”

About Cocktail 2

The film, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles is a spiritual sequel to 2012 film which starred Saif Ali Khan, Diana Penty and Deepika Padukone in the lead role. Filmmaker Homi Adajania, who had directed the first film, has taken the director’s chair for this one as well.

Recently, videos and pictures of their shooting from Sicily, Italy had gone viral on social media.

While Shahid and Kriti have shared the screen in 2024 film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, this is the first time that Rashmika will be seen on the big screen with both of them.

Melbourne indie upstarts shoot for global stardom

After turning heads locally in 2023 with their excellent debut album ‘Lush Life’, Melbourne band The Belair Lip Bombs made international headlines last year when they were announced as the newest signees to Jack White’s Third Man Records – in turn, making them the very first Australian act to join the label. It’s a big mantle to step up to, but it feels like a task the four-piece are equipped for – after all, it’s the drive and confidence that was present on ‘Lush Life’ that got them the gig in the first place.

The band’s second album ‘Again’, despite its title, is not a once-more go-around of ‘Lush Life’. Instead, it looks at that LP’s already-versatile nature and maps out new terrain for the ambitious indie rockers to explore. Such boldness is present in lead single ‘Hey You’, which buzzes with urgency due to its hypnotic Rhodes loop and the pounding, persistent drumming of new drummer Daniel Devlin (formerly of Delivery). It, paired with the satisfying rock-out finale of ‘Don’t Let Them Tell You (It’s Fair)’, showcases the band in full flight – reminding listeners that the Lip Bombs are a rock band first, indie band second.

Despite the aforementioned line-up change between ‘Lush Life’ and now, the band feel more sure of themselves from a musical standpoint. Lead guitarist Michael Bradvica, in particular, is an assertive presence throughout. His Nile Rodgers-style “chucking” on ‘Cinema’ gives the track both groove and depth, while his deft playing on the vulnerable, emotive ‘Smiling’ almost creates a dialogue of sorts between himself and vocalist Maisie Everett with transfixing results.

For her part, Everett has continued to develop her heartfelt vocal delivery on ‘Again’, making especially strong use of it in the album’s quieter, more pensive moments. Piano ballad ‘Burning Up’ might be the biggest sonic departure of the band’s young career thus far, and certainly feels like a considerable risk even when they’ve already established an eclecticism within their sound. For those that don’t talk over the quiet songs, however, a remarkable new side to the band can be found blossoming and blooming over the song’s four-minute runtime.

Rummaging through the wreckage of a relationship, Everett devastatingly assesses herself as “a prick in your thumb” and her former flame “a bruise in [her] lung”. “We were made for each other,” she sighs, “but we gotta blow out the flame.” With the churning guitars and swinging drumsticks traded in for E-bows and jazz brushes, the band aim for the heartstrings and don’t miss.

At an already exciting time for Australian music as a cultural export – from the rise of punk and hardcore acts like Amyl & The Sniffers and Speed, to the continuing arena dominance of Tame Impala and Rüfüs Du Sol – there’s unquestionably a space for The Belair Lip Bombs to thrive globally. ‘Again’, to paraphrase U2, feels like them auditioning to be the biggest band in the world.

Kartik Aaryan is gearing up for an adventurous new role that’s unlike anything he has done before. After the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the actor is all set to headline Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain’s upcoming creature comedy-drama titled Naagzilla: Naag Lok Ka Pehla Kaand. The film promises a mix of humor, fantasy, and drama, with Kartik playing a shape-shifting serpent. According to reports, Kartik completed the film’s poster shoot in Mumbai today, and the main shooting is set to begin on November 1.

Naagzilla Official Announcement And Release Date

As per a report by Pinkvilla, the Shehzada actor kicked off his journey with a special photoshoot that hints at his exciting transformation in Naagzilla. The film, officially announced in April 2025, will release on August 14, 2026—perfectly timed with both Independence Day weekend and Naag Panchami celebrations. 

Kartik will be seen as Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an “Ichchadaari Naag” (shape-shifting serpent), in what is being described as one of his most entertaining and unique roles yet.

About Naagzilla

Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, known for his Fukrey series, the film will mark his first venture outside that franchise. Naagzilla is being jointly produced by Mahaveer Jain Films and Dharma Productions—marking the first collaboration between Mahaveer Jain and Karan Johar. The makers reportedly plan to turn it into a franchise if the first installment performs well. Actor Ravi Kishan is also rumored to be part of the ensemble cast.

Kartik Aaryan’s Work Front 

Besides Naagzilla, Kartik will next be seen in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri alongside Ananya Panday. He’s also working on a musical romantic drama with Sreeleela directed by Anurag Basu, and has two more films lined up with acclaimed directors Shimit Amin and Vishnuvardhan.

The much-awaited supernatural drama “Jatadhara” is set to release in Hindi and Telugu on November 7, 2025, promising an epic blend of mythology, black magic, ancient curses, and a mystical treasure hunt. Starring Sudheer Babuand Sonakshi Sinha, the film is directed by Venkat Kalyan and Abhishek Jaiswal, with producers calling it one of the most ambitious projects of the year.

One of the film’s biggest highlights is its massive climax sequence, which the lead actors shot non-stop for 24 hours over multiple days. The scene reportedly features elaborate sets, intense action, and intricate choreography. Producer Shivin Narang revealed the immense effort behind the sequence, saying, “The climax is the soul of Jatadhara — it’s where two powerful forces of light and darkness collide. We wanted it to feel raw, real, and larger than life. What Sudheer and Sonakshi have done goes beyond dedication — it’s pure devotion.” He added that both stars gave their all physically, mentally, and emotionally to deliver one of the toughest and most ambitious climaxes ever seen on screen.

The trailer for Jatadhara recently created a buzz online, drawing attention not only for its visual grandeur but also for Sonakshi Sinha’s intense performance. Her husband, Zaheer Iqbal, took to Instagram to express his admiration, writing, “My wife surprising the world with her versatility again. I always said she has a little devil in her — turns out Jatadharamade it official!” He also wished the team success ahead of the release.

Presented by Zee Studios and Prerna Arora, Jatadhara is produced by Umesh Kumar Bansal, Shivin Narang, Aruna Agarwal, Prerna Arora, Shilpa Singhal, and Nikhil Nanda, with Akshay Kejriwal and Kussum Arora as co-producers. Songs will play an important role in driving the narrative. And Buchi Babu is known for fleshing out emotional narratives like Uppena. And Peddi is a dream project that will showcase Ram Charan in a raw, intense, and completely new avatar. Charan has undergone multiple transformations and has performed some breathtaking action sequences for the film. Peddi has cinematography by R. Rathnavelu, while editing is handled by National Award winner Navin Nooli.

Buchi Babu too shared that he had only Janhvi in mind while scripting her part.

Peddi also features Kannada legend Shiva Rajkumar in a powerful role, alongside Jagapathi Babu and Divyendu Sharma. The Mirzapur actor will be seen in an intense role and has pinned a lot of hopes on Peddi to build his career in the South. The film is scheduled for a grand pan-India release on March 27, 2026.

India’s premier movie production company, Yash Raj Films (YRF), has announced its intention to produce its major films in the United Kingdom from the beginning of 2026. The ground-breaking decision is set to generate more than 3,000 jobs and put millions of pounds into the UK economy. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer made the announcement in Mumbai today as part of a high-profile trade mission to further UK-India relations.

The Prime Minister paid a visit to Yash Raj Studios, the 20th anniversary of which falls on October 12, along with a British delegation of film industry leaders such as the British Film Institute (BFI), British Film Commission, Pinewood Studios, Elstree Studios and Civic Studios. The visit reflects increased cooperation between the two countries’ flourishing creative industries.

Bollywood is back in Britain,” declared Prime Minister Starmer. “It’s bringing jobs, investment and opportunity, all while promoting the UK as a world-class destination for global film-making. This is precisely the sort of partnership our trade agreement with India is set to unlock.

The UK’s film industry, worth £12 billion annually and supporting 90,000 jobs, is a popular destination for international filmmakers due to its state-of-the-art studio infrastructure and iconic landscapes. YRF’s return to filming in the UK, after an eight-year hiatus, signals renewed confidence and opportunity following the UK-India trade deal negotiations.

YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani was bubbling with enthusiasm over reviving the links with the UK, as some of the company’s most legendary films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) were shot there. “It is really wonderful to revive YRF and UK’s filming relationship on DDLJ’s 30th anniversary,” he added. The company has also produced an English musical adaptation of the film, Come Fall in Love, in the UK.

To mark the announcement, the Prime Minister visited Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai today alongside a delegation of some of Britain’s biggest names in film including the British Film Institute, the British Film Commission, Pinewood Studios, Elstree Studios and Civic Studios. Yash Raj’s Studio completes 20 years of operations in India on October 12th.

The Prime Minister is on a two-day trade mission to strengthen ties with one of the fastest growing economies in the world and put money back into the pockets of hard-working British people. That includes deepening the collaboration of the UK and India’s globally renowned creative industries.

The UK film industry contributes £12 billion a year to the economy and supports 90,000 jobs across every region of the country. It is a sought-after destination for international filmmakers thanks to its world-leading studio infrastructure and iconic backdrops.

India is the largest producer of films in the world, and Yash Raj’s commitment follows an 8-year hiatus from filming in the UK – showcasing the impact the UK-India trade deal is already having. About The New YRF Venture

Today’s announcement is the latest example of how the UK’s deepening partnerships with India’s booming cultural scene will create new jobs, drive investment and bolster creative content in the UK, while celebrating our valuable people-to-people links.

Supporting this further will be a cooperation agreement (MoU) between the British Film Institute and the National Film Development Commission of India, which will reinvigorate co-production and enable filmmakers from both countries to share resources and talent.

Past Indian productions have yielded global hits. Cross-cultural hit film Slumdog Millionaire, brought in around £300million to the UK economy, on a budget of just £12milllion, highlighting what’s possible when UK technical expertise and Indian storytelling unite.
