Jennifer Lawrence On Not Sharing Her Politics, Talking About Trump

by jummy84 November 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence has reconsidered sharing her politics on the world stage.

The previously outspoken actress, who recently reflected on finding her past interviews and public persona “annoying,” told the New York Times in a sprawling Q&A that her stance on discussing her political takes have also shifted.

While discussing Paul Thomas Anderson’s epic One Battle After Another, the Die My Love star and executive producer said “it’s a good idea. It’s not a bad idea,” later clarifying she meant the “revolution” depicted in the Leonardo DiCaprio-starring drama.

When asked how the multi-hyphenate feels about speaking out now, she said, “I don’t really know if I should. During the first Trump administration, I felt like I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off. But as we’ve learned, election after election, celebrities do not make a difference whatsoever on who people vote for. So then what am I doing? I’m just sharing my opinion on something that’s going to add fuel to a fire that’s ripping the country apart.”

Lawrence also said she wanted to avoid turning audiences off from her work, or projects in general that could educate viewers: “I think I’m in a complicated recalibration because I’m also an artist. I don’t want to start turning people off to films and to art that could change consciousness or change the world because they don’t like my political opinions. I want to protect my craft so that you can still get lost in what I’m doing. And if I can’t say something that’s going to speak to some kind of peace or lowering the temperature or some sort of solution, I don’t want to be a part of the problem. I don’t want to make the problem worse.”

Clarifying if she feels “regret” for how she approached political topics before, the No Hard Feelings star said, “Probably? I regret everything I’ve ever done or said. I’m going to take the zip drives out of all of these cameras when I leave. The second term feels different. Because he said what he was going to do. We knew what he did for four years. He was very clear. And that’s what we chose.”

Lawrence can soon be seen in Lynne Ramsay’s Die My Love, bowing in theaters Nov. 7. Next up, she will star in and produce murder mystery film The Wives for Apple Original Films. Most recently, Deadline exclusively announced she will be partnering with filmmaker Martin Scorsese and reuniting with former co-star DiCaprio on an adaptation of the ghost story novel What Happens at Night, also at Apple.

From stonewalling to sharing: How emotionally expressive men are changing dating game in India

Modern Indian dating is evolving, emotionally available men are breaking stereotypes, opening up, and building stronger, more meaningful connections with women.

Being emotionally available is key to forming meaningful connections in dating, but it’s easier said than done. Understanding your own feelings, communicating openly, and being present can help you build trust, intimacy, and stronger relationships. Ravi Mittal, founder and CEO of QuackQuack, shares with HT Lifestyle how you can become more emotionally available and navigate modern dating with confidence. How modern Indian men are redefining dating

For a long time, Indian society has held two firm beliefs about men: they don’t talk about their feelings, and they don’t cry. Men were expected to provide, protect, and take care, but asking to be taken care of, or showing vulnerability- wasn’t considered “manly.”

The good news? Over the past few years, modern dating, amplified by virtual platforms, has started to dismantle these stereotypes. Men are no longer bottling up emotions, and love has become far more enjoyable when communication flows both ways.

Why are emotionally expressive men more desirable

A survey by the Indian dating app QuackQuack shows that 3 in 5 men now openly discuss vulnerabilities and share their flaws and red flags during the initial chatting phase itself. Surveys indicate that emotionally available men are increasingly desirable to women.

Profiles that include statements like “I go to therapy every Sunday” or “Still moving on from the last breakup but open to connections” receive more attention for their honesty. Emotional availability has even surpassed the traditional “six-pack abs and over six feet” checklist in desirability. Millennials and Gen Z are leading this change, seeking partners who communicate openly and rejecting toxic masculinity traits like hot-and-cold behaviour or stonewalling.

Traditional gender roles are slowly fading as women take the lead while men embrace being wooed. Relationships thrive when both partners communicate openly. Vulnerable, emotionally available men are not only attractive, but they also help build stronger, more sustainable connections.

‘They Offered Me Rs. 1.65 Crore, Men And Women Sharing Bed Is Unacceptable For Me’, Tanushree Dutta On Rejecting Bigg Boss

Every season of the reality show Bigg Boss grabs headlines, whether for controversies, dramatic twists, or celebrity revelations. Recently, Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta opened up about the show in an interview and made it clear why she has never been a part of it. Speaking to one of the media houses Tanushree revealed that the makers have approached her repeatedly over the years, but she has consistently declined their offers because she values her privacy and refuses to compromise on her principles.

Tanushree Dutta

“For the last eleven years, they have been trying to get me on the show,” Tanushree said. “Every season, I get a call, and every season I refuse. I even scold them sometimes. I simply cannot live in such an environment. I don’t even share my home with family members because I like my own space, so how can I stay in a house full of strangers?”

Tanushree Dutta

The actress disclosed that she was offered a huge paycheck to participate but still chose to stay away. “They once offered me ₹1.65 crore because a Bollywood actress of my level had been paid that much,” she revealed. “A stylist from the Bigg Boss team even told me they could increase the amount if I agreed, but I turned it down without a second thought.” Tanushree further explained that no amount of money could convince her.

Tanushree Dutta

“Even if they offered me the moon, I wouldn’t do it. The idea of men and women sharing beds and fighting under one roof is unacceptable to me. I’m particular about my diet and lifestyle. How could anyone think I would sleep next to a man on a reality show for publicity? I am not that desperate, no matter how many crores they offer.” Over the years, Bigg Boss has paid record sums to some contestants. During Bigg Boss 14, wild-card entrant Aly Goni earned around ₹16 lakh per week, taking home approximately ₹2.8 crore, while actress Rimi Sen was offered about ₹2 crore for her stint in Bigg Boss 9.

bitchy | Teachers are being fired for sharing their opinions about Charlie Kirk’s death

by jummy84 September 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Right-wing culture-warrior Charlie Kirk was shot and killed on Wednesday, September 10. He was shot by a sniper in broad daylight on the campus of a Utah university. Even before the shooter was captured, I pretty much knew the basics: the guy would be a white male, he would be under 30, he would be politically conservative and very online, and he would be really, really into guns and “gun culture.” That’s exactly who it turned out to be: Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old alt-right, cisgender groyper. The shooter was to the far-right politically of Charlie Kirk, and it’s looking a lot like this was less of a referendum on right/left/center politics and more of an internecine dispute within a far-right extremist philosophy. And in case anyone is wondering, Tyler Robinson’s father turned him in and Robinson’s grandma told the press that the whole family is MAGA through and through.

Once Robinson’s politics became known and the motive has now moved into “oh, so one Nazi killed another Nazi” territory, obviously, many in MAGA World are no longer interested in politicizing every single thing about this murder. What’s crazy is that the “cancel culture is bad” people are now demanding that everyone should be canceled for not worshiping their martyr.

Following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk this week, educators across the country have found themselves facing swift termination or potential discipline after allegedly sharing opinions on social media about the killing.

At least a dozen faculty and staff, from school board officials to classroom teachers, have been met with fallout over insensitive posts about Kirk’s death. In at least two instances, universities fired staff members entirely for posts deemed inappropriate. Many other educators have been suspended or are under investigation, and the number is likely to grow as conservative online influencers share screenshots.

At East Tennessee State University, two faculty members have been placed on administrative leave pending further review, school spokesperson Jess Vodden said. Complaints sent to the university included screenshots of Facebook comments, according to copies the school shared with NBC News, that one faculty member allegedly made in response to Kirk’s death, including “you reap what you sow.” Another allegedly wrote, “This isn’t a tragedy. It’s a victory.”

Vodden said the university had received “numerous complaints” about the posts. “Because this is a personnel issue, we cannot offer further comment at this time,” she said.

Middle Tennessee State University fired a staff member, according to a statement shared Wednesday by President Sidney McPhee. State officials are weighing in as well, with the Florida Department of Education sending a memo to school district superintendents Thursday, threatening investigation and disciplinary action against educators who have commented on Kirk’s death in a manner it deems inappropriate.

“It has been brought to my attention that some Florida educators have posted despicable comments on social media regarding the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk,” said the memo, signed by Florida education Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas. “I will be conducting an investigation of every educator who engages in this vile, sanctionable behavior.”

Oklahoma’s state superintendent, Ryan Walters, similarly promised to investigate teachers making incendiary comments on social media about Kirk’s death, and he confirmed his department is investigating one middle school educator called out on X.

[From NBC News]

Again, these are teachers talking sh-t on social media, not in a classroom (although I think it’s perfectly reasonable for, like, high school teachers to talk about it in a classroom setting as a teachable moment). Unless their accounts are attached to their schools, the schools have no business firing anyone for “talking sh-t” about someone who had never been elected to anything?

Additionally, the State Department wants to review the legal status of any immigrant “praising, rationalizing, or making light” of Kirk’s death. This is truly insane. It’s like that possibly apocryphal story about a Norwegian tourist being refused entry into the US because he had a “fat Vance” meme on his phone. We’re really through the looking glass.

Heidi Klum has marked her son Henry’s 20th birthday by sharing a series of personal photographs and tributes on Instagram to her boy.

Heidi Klum has marked her son Henry’s 20th birthday by sharing a series of personal photographs and tributes on Instagram to her boy

The supermodel, 52, posted images of Henry – who she had with her singer ex-husband Seal – throughout the years, from childhood snapshots to more recent pictures to mark him turning 20 on Friday (12.09.25.)

She captioned her carousel of snaps: “We love you all so very much (red heart emoji) HENRY (red heart emoji.)”

The photos included images of Heidi cuddling Henry as a child, a picture of him smiling as a baby, and more recent shots of him playing a video game and looking into the camera.

Henry is one of four children Heidi shares with her former husband Seal, 62.

Their other children are Johan, Lou and Leni.

In August, Heidi shared a selfie with Henry, Johan and Leni as she moved one of her children into a college dorm in New York City.

She captioned the post: “College move in day NYC (red heart and Statue of Libreryty emojis.)”

That same month, Heidi attended the return of Kith’s runway show in New York, where Henry made his debut on the catwalk.

Posting photos and videos from the event, Heidi said: “So many beautiful Models on the @kith catwalk in New York tonight, but I only have eyes for you @henrygunthersamuel.”

The show took place on the streets of NoHo outside Kith’s renovated flagship store and was the label’s first runway event in six years.

Henry appeared in a denim-on-denim look, including a light wash jacket and jeans layered over a white bomber jacket and collared shirt, styled with white trainers.

The appearance came shortly after Henry signed a modelling contract with Next Management.

In a statement released by the agency in July, he said: “I’ve grown up around fashion and entertainment, but stepping into this world myself is a whole new experience.

“I’m grateful to Next Management for this opportunity and excited to learn, grow, and find my own voice in the industry.”

Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham fuel fresh reunion rumours after sharing cryptic post

by jummy84 September 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham have fuelled fresh speculation about reunion rumours after sharing yet another cryptic post on social media.

  • READ MORE: Christine McVie, 1943-2022: an eternal songbird

Just weeks after confirming the rerelease of their 1973 album ‘Buckingham Nicks‘, which was teased in a similar fashion, the former Fleetwood Mac bandmates shared a joint Instagram post on Friday (September 5) featuring an old clip of the two onstage.

In the video, Nicks sings the opening lyrics of their 1973 track ‘Frozen Love’: “You may not be as strong as me, and I may not care to teach you.” She then trails off before laughing: “That’s all I remember.”

Their latest post was captioned: “We remember the rest now.”  If an official reunion were announced, it would also be the first time Nicks and Buckingham joined forces since Buckingham was fired from Fleetwood Mac in 2018.

The pair originally dated between 1972 and 1976 and would remain bandmates for over 40 years, though it was ultimately their acrimonious relationship that would lead to Buckingham’s departure.

Since Buckingham’s departure, Mick Fleetwood has said he wishes Buckingham and Nicks would “pal up a bit more” and “just say everything’s OK”. He also similarly admitted last year that “it’s no secret, it’s no tittle-tattle that there is a brick wall there emotionally. Stevie’s able to speak clearly about how she feels and doesn’t feel, as does Lindsey.”

“But I’ll say, personally, I would love to see a healing between them – and that doesn’t have to take the shape of a tour, necessarily,” he added.

However, shortly after Buckingham’s firing in 2018, Fleetwood told People that it was “all Stevie’s doing,” and that she “basically gave the band an ultimatum that either I had to go or she would go.”

Nicks would deny the accusations made by Fleetwood, clarifying: “I did not demand he be fired. Frankly, I fired myself. I proactively removed myself from the band and a situation I considered to be toxic to my well-being. I was done. If the band went on without me, so be it.”

The ‘Buckingham Nicks’ reissue will seemingly be the closest chance to a Fleetwood Mac reunion; a full reunion with the band currently appears to be unlikely due to Christine McVie’s passing in 2022. Nicks has said that without the late McVie, “there is no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac back together.”

Elsewhere, Stevie Nicks has said she’s working on a new album, saying it was made up of “real stories, memories of mine, of fantastic men”.
