On Tuesday. Shah Rukh, Karan, Rani along with other Bollywood celebrities came down to Delhi to attend the 71st National Film Award ceremony. The actor was honoured with the Best Actor honour at the ceremony for his powerhouse performance in Jawan. This marks the superstar’s first-ever National Award.

Karan received the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment for his 2023 movie Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Meanwhile, Rani Mukerji got her first National Award too, Best Actress for her moving role in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway.

President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday conferred National Awards for acting to Shah Rukh, Vikrant Massey and Rani. Malayalam superstar Mohanlal was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke lifetime achievement award.

Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra took home the best film prize for 12th Fail. The best director award went to Sudipto Sen for The Kerala Story. The National Awards for 2023 were announced in August this year. It’s the first National Award for Shah Rukh and Rani as well as for Vikrant.

Vaibhavi Merchant won the best choreography award for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani song Dhindhora Baaje. Shilpa Rao was named best female playback singer for Jawan track Chaleya. Sanya Malhotra-starrer Kathal: A Jackfruit Mystery was named the best Hindi film.

In the wake of Pathaan’s historic success, Shah Rukh Khan is teaming up with director Siddharth Anand and Deepika Padukone once again for another high-octane action drama called King. The movie is the big theatrical launch of Suhana Khan, and hence a hotly anticipated film both for the industry as well as the fans.

The movie has gone into an active shooting schedule, with major action scenes being filmed in Poland, among other European places. As per a Pinkvilla report, Karanvir Malhotra, who was recently seen in Andhera, has also been added to the cast list. A development source spilled the beans and said,

Director Siddharth Anand is working towards filming at actual, unmanipulated locations in Europe to introduce a new visual tone to the movie. The action sequences are being choreographed with the consultation of global stunt teams, which is committing to offer a world-scale spectacle.

Adding to the excitement, Deepika Padukone has posted her joy of working with Shah Rukh Khan for the sixth time. Speaking about their journey that started with Om Shanti Om in 2007, she posted on Instagram:

I think people misunderstood when Shah Rukh sir compared me to Pooja, and I think there was a hiccup in translating it.”

But then she adds with a smile, “But I never denied it.” Anya explains, “I went with it. Our show is all about myths, so I thought, ‘Why bust all of them?'”

The Ba***ds of Bollywood is about an actor called Aasmaan Singh (Lakshya) who is navigating his first steps in the Hindi film industry. Anya plays Sanya, Aasmaan’s manager. Introducing the actor at the show’s preview launch in August, Shah Rukh had quipped Anya was ‘very much like my Pooja’.

The actor adds, “When I met Pooja at the screening, I told her, ‘People think I am your daughter’, and both of us just laughed about it. Neither of us was affected by it.”

The Ba***ds of Bollywood is produced by Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment, and Anya is glad she got a chance to interact with the superstar because of her role in the show. “Shah Rukh sir knows my name today, and I only want to hug Aryan because of that,” she says.

Shah Rukh Khan Gets Legal Go-Ahead For Mannat Renovation; NGT Dismisses Appeal

Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic sea-facing bungalow Mannat, located in Bandra (West), Mumbai, has received a green signal for its ongoing renovation. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has dismissed an appeal that challenged the approval granted to the project by the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA).

The appeal was filed by activist Santosh Daundkar, who claimed that the CRZ clearance granted on January 3, 2024, was flawed. However, the NGT found no merit in the complaint and said the appeal was “without force.”

According to the tribunal, the renovation work falls under the CRZ-II zone, which allows construction on the landward side of existing structures. As per the approved plans, two new upper floors (7th and 8th) are being added to the structure, including a duplex apartment and an internal staircase. The updated building will now include two basements, a ground floor, and eight upper floors, reaching a height of 37.54 meters.

The property, located at CTS 859–862 in Bandra H-West, has had BMC approval since November 7, 2024. The tribunal also noted that the petitioner failed to prove any legal or procedural violations.

While renovation work continues, Gauri Khan recently shared that the redesigned home should be ready within a year. In the meantime, Shah Rukh Khan and his family are living in a rented duplex at Pali Hill, paying a reported Rs 24 lakh per month.

Mannat, originally built in 1914 and renamed by SRK in 2001, is not just a house—it’s a symbol of dreams. With a mix of heritage charm and modern luxury, it remains one of India’s most admired celebrity homes.
