BET Sets ‘106 & Sports’ Premiere Date: Watch Teaser

by jummy84 September 19, 2025
written by jummy84

BET has set the premiere date for its new original series, 106 & Sports, a reimagining of the legendary 106 & Park brand.

Produced by Fulwell Entertainment’s SpringHill and hosted by Cam Newton and Ashley Nicole Moss, 106 & Sports premieres on Wednesday, October 15, on BET with episodes streaming the following day on BET+.

The network describes the series as a “fresh countdown highlighting sports, music, and entertainment like never before,” calling it the “definitive home for culturally-driven sports commentary.”

“When I think about ‘106 & Park,’ I remember how it was a voice for the culture. It gave artists and fans a place to connect. Now, we’re doing the same thing for sports,” Newton said in a statement. “’106 & Sports’ is where you’ll get the real talk, the authentic insights, and the kind of conversations you won’t find anywhere else. I’m excited to team up with Ashley and BET to build something special, something that honors that legacy while creating a new one.”

Moss added, “I know how much this iconic brand means to so many people, including myself. I want everyone to know how much of an honor it is to be part of this amazing culture, and my goal is to resonate that with every show. My hope is for people to feel a connection with ‘106 & Sports’ in the same way they did with ‘106 & Park.’”

Tiffany Lea Williams, Executive Vice President of Unscripted Programming and Development at BET Media Group, considers the series to be an “exciting evolution of BET’s legacy” as it reimagines “the cultural heartbeat of ‘106 & Park’ through the lens of sports.”

The first 10 episodes mark the first half of its debut season. New episodes will drop every Wednesday until December 17. Watch the official teaser above.

Liam Hemsworth In for Henry Cavill, Sets Release Date

by jummy84 September 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Toss a coin to your witcher because Geralt of Rivia is back on the hunt. Netflix has released the first look at Season 4 of “The Witcher,” the fantasy drama series adapted from CD Projekt Red’s video game franchise and Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels of the same name. The eight-episode season will arrive on Netflix on Oct. 30.

Though the show’s white-haired protagonist Geralt was played by Henry Cavill in the first three seasons of the Netflix series, Cavill took to Instagram in October 2022 to announce that he was departing the series and that Liam Hemsworth would take over the role of the titular witcher. Season 3, which was released in two parts in June and July 2023, was Cavill’s final outing as the character.

“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4,” Cavill wrote. “In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf.”

The first teaser shows Hemsworth’s Geralt, who looks very similar to Cavill’s version, vanquish a ghostly wraith. The logline reads: “After the Continent-altering events of Season 3, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies. As their paths diverge, and their goals sharpen, they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good.”

In addition to Hemsworth, the cast includes Anya Chalotra (Yennefer of Vengerberg), Freya Allan (Princess Cirilla of Cintra), Joey Batey (Jaskier), Laurence Fishburne (Regis), Eamon Farren (Cahir), Anna Shaffer (Triss Merigold), Mimî M Khayisa (Fringilla), Cassie Clare (Philippa), Mahesh Jadu (Vilgefortz), Meng’er Zhang (Milva), Graham McTavish (Dijkstra), Royce Pierreson (Istredd), Mecia Simson (Francesca), Sharlto Copley (Leo Bonhart), Danny Woodburn (Zoltan) Jeremy Crawford (Yarpen), Bart Edwards (Emhyr), Hugh Skinner (Radovid), James Purefoy (Skellen), Christelle Elwin (Mistle), Fabian McCallum (Kayleigh), Juliette Alexandra (Reef), Ben Radcliffe (Giselher), Connor Crawford (Asse), Aggy K. Adams (Iskra), Linden Porco (Percival Schuttenbach), Therica Wilson-Read (Sabrina), Rochelle Rose (Margarita), Safiyya Ingar (Keira) and more

As previously announced, Season 4 will be the penultimate season of “The Witcher,” with the series coming to a close after Season 5. The two remaining seasons of the series were shot back to back and have three novels’ worth of material left to cover: “Baptism of Fire,” “The Tower of the Swallow” and “Lady of the Lake.”

“This is the beginning of a two-season journey for our family to finally reunite and be together — hopefully forever,” said creator, showrunner and executive producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.

TV Academy Sets AI Guidelines For Members As Hollywood On Edge About Tech

TV Academy Sets AI Guidelines For Members As Hollywood On Edge About Tech

by jummy84 September 11, 2025
written by jummy84

EXCLUSIVE: A Television Academy task force developing what it calls “responsible AI and production standards” has finalized a set of guidelines for members, Deadline has learned.

The three pillars of the guidelines, Academy officials say, are “creative integrity,” “permissions, licenses, legal and commercial viability”; and “accountability, transparency and sustainability.”

The document resulted from a survey of the organization’s 30,000-plus members. Plans call for rolling them out to the membership following Sunday’s Primetime Emmys.

Generative AI has been the third rail of Hollywood since the arrival of ChatGPT and the labor impasse of 2023, when SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild went on strike amid widespread anxiety about AI eliminating industry jobs. Anxiety over copyright protection continues to run high, with Disney, NBCUniversal and Warner Bros. Discovery filing lawsuits against AI image creator Midjourney, one of several legal cases being closely tracked across Hollywood.

The Academy’s task force was led by Christina Lee Storm, governor of the Academy’s Emerging Media Programming peer group, co-chair of the Advocacy Committee, and a member of the Innovation Advisory Committee. She is also a noted producer and co-founder of tech consultancy Playbook PLBK.

Speaking with Deadline this week during the Toronto Film Festival, Storm said the prevailing attitude toward GenAI in the creative community has changed significantly over the past 24 months.

“Two years ago, the Television Academy did an AI Summit [with] a lot of disgruntled folks,” she said, and participants were “not quite understanding the tools, or reading the headlines saying, ‘It’s going to take over everything.’

“This year, we had a lot more people come and be much more open to it, because what we’re seeing – as more and more people are using these tools – is that it’s advancing certain pieces [of the craft], but it’s not advancing everything,” Storm added.

“The need to have a filmmaking language, filmmaking understanding, and all of the [human] traits that are a part of the process – and have always been a part of the process – is crucial.”

According to Lee, the three board-approved ‘Key Principles’ at the heart of the task force’s findings are:

1) Creative integrity for professionals, creators, performers and craftspeople

How does my decision to use GenAI support and respect the work of the artists and collaborators on this project, including writers, performers, directors, producers, and craftspeople? Have they been informed and are properly credited or compensated for their contributions?

2) Permissions, licenses, legal and commercial viability

Is the AI model I’m using trained on ethically sourced, properly licensed and clean data, and not pirated or publicly available content without prior consent or permission from copyright owners? (Storm noted Anthropic’s $1.5 billion settlement, announced Monday, paid out to authors whose work was used without permission.)

3) Accountability, transparency and sustainability

How will I disclose transparency to the production team, distributors, clients, or stakeholders about when, where, and how GenAI was used in the project?

For now, the principles are just recommendations, Storm explained, and the Academy is “not necessarily mandating things per se.” However, the input process involved all 31 of the Academy’s peer groups, a wide spectrum including animators, casting directors, VFX artists and writers.

“The Television Academy recognizes the need for ethical, responsible rules of engagement for the use of Generative AI in television,” Maury McIntyre, president and CEO of the Television Academy, told Deadline. “We commend the Academy’s Innovation Advisory Committee for the development of these Key Considerations and we are committed to educating our members, our colleagues, and our elected representative on how to navigate, adapt and preserve creative integrity as the industry moves forward.”

The news from the TV industry follows a move by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences last April to update its rules for Oscar consideration. That decision came after a contentious awards season featuring several AI scandals, including one that dogged Best Picture nominee The Brutalist. AMPAS stated, in somewhat vague terms, that the use of AI and other generative tools would “neither help nor harm the chances of achieving a nomination” going forward.

Storm joined a TIFF AI panel on Monday that also featured Nikola Todorovic, co-founder of Tye Sheridan’s AI, 3D and VFX platform Wonder Dynamics; and Ángel Manuel Soto, the Puerto Rican filmmaker whose credits include DC’s Blue Beetle and HBO Max’s Menudo: Forever Young. Also on the panel was Seungwoo Kim, creator of CJ ENM’s Cat Biggie, a fully GenAI-based 3D animated series; and Don Allen Stevenson III, the creative and AI research lead at Asteria and Moonvalley, which develops workflows for the emerging arena of “ethical” AI in filmmaking.

Anurag Kashyap’s Nickname Rinku Creates Hilarious Confusion on Nishaanchi’s Sets

by jummy84 September 10, 2025
written by jummy84

Anurag Kashyap is gearing up for the release of his new film, Nishaanchi. The trailer, packed with action, drama and comedy, has set the stage abuzz. It offers a glimpse into a high-octane narrative filled with power-packed sequences and sharp humour. Staying true to the unmistakable style of Anurag Kashyap’s filmmaking, the film also introduces Aaishvary Thackeray in a striking debut. But did you know there’s a fun fact about the filmmaker’s nickname that also finds a reference in the film?

Anurag Kashyap’s nickname is Rinku, and coincidentally, Vedika Pinto’s character in the film is also named Rinku. It’s quite interesting to see how this real-life name has been adapted into the story. In fact, every time someone called out “Rinku” on set, both Anurag Kashyap and Vedika would turn, leaving the team in splits.

In the film, Aaishvary Thackeray plays a double role of twin brothers, Babloo and Dabloo, while Vedika Pinto plays Rinku. The story revolves around Babloo’s deep affection for Rinku, which is disrupted by Dabloo’s arrival. The Gangs of Wasseypur director expressed that creating Nishaanchi gave him a sense of returning to his cinematic roots, allowing him to reconnect with the raw, unfiltered style of storytelling that defined his early work. He also called it his ‘full-on-Salim-Javed zone of film’.

Anurag Kashyap

Besides Aaishvary Thackeray and Vedika Pinto, the film also stars Monika Panwar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Kumud Mishra in pivotal roles. Kashyap said, “Nishaanchi is my full-on Salim-Javed zone of film; it has the hero, the drama, and the payoff a film must deliver. I spent 69 days on it, and it’s my longest and most elaborate shoot yet. Initially, the title was Babloo Nishaanchi, Rangilee Rinku, and Dabloo — everyone said it was too long. The story of how Nishaanchi was coined, and the film was finally named.”

'Black Mirror’ Creator Charlie Brooker Sets Next Netflix Show

‘Black Mirror’ Creator Charlie Brooker Sets Next Netflix Show

by jummy84 September 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker is making a four-part detective crime series for Netflix; it’s currently in production.

The untitled project is “a profoundly serious, stunningly original crime thriller in which a tormented detective from the Northern city of Bleakford ventures down to London on a mission to catch a ritualistic serial killer before they run out of people to kill,” the logline reads.

It then warns: “Contains blood and frowning.” Those two often go together.

The series stars Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon, MobLand), Georgina Campbell (Barbarian, Watchers) and Lena Headey (Game of Thrones, The Abandons). Probably no dragons in this one.

“I’m beyond thrilled to be saying these words for the press release,” Brooker said in a statement. “I’ve dreamt of providing a quote ever since I was a young foetus, and now here I am doing it. I’d pinch myself, but like all of us, I’m terrified that if I do that, I might wake up and discover 2025 has all been a magical dream. Please watch my show. I am begging you.”

Brooker wrote the series with Ben Caudell, Jason Hazeley, Emer Kenny, Daniel Maier and Joel Morris; additional material by Victoria Asare Archer. He executive produces it with Jessica Rhoades and Annabel Jones. Mark Kinsella is co-executive producer and Richard Webb is producer. Al Campbell directs the miniseries.

Brooker had recently teased the project in an interview, as he was working on the yet-unannounced series when he chatted with The Hollywood Reporter about the Emmy nominations for the latest season of Black Mirror, and also weighed in on his recent exit from his and Jones’ Netflix-owned banner Broke & Bones.

“I am doing something at the moment that we haven’t announced yet. It is not Black Mirror. It’s very different; it’s using my other skill set. My other hat I sometimes wear,” he said when discussing the challenge of pumping out more Black Mirror stories amid the fast-changing tech landscape. “The thing about Black Mirror now is there is definitely a shorter gap between conceptualizing a Black Mirror story and the real world, unfortunately, serving up something quite similar. I’m in a bit of an arms race with reality.”

As for season eight, he assured fans that Black Mirror’s future on the streamer still remains bright. “Well, it’s Black Mirror, so the future is looking bleak. But yes, bleakly bright.”

‘It Was A Prank, Don’t Fall For This Gossip’, Kiku Sharda Opened Up On Viral Video From Kapil Sharma Show Sets

by jummy84 September 9, 2025
written by jummy84

For the past several days, there were reports of stand-up comedians Kiku Sharda fighting with Krushna Abhishek and leaving ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’. Now, Kiku Sharda has reacted to this and called the fight with Krushna a prank. Apart from this, he also said that he will always be a part of Kapil Sharma’s show. The reports got intense when Kiku was shown in Ashneer Grover’s show ‘Rise and Fall’.

Kiku Sharda

Let us tell you that Kiku is participating in Ashneer’s show as a contestant. On the other hand, a few weeks ago, a video came out from the set of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show 3’, in which Kiku Sharda and Krushna Abhishek were having a heated argument. Now, Kiku Sharda has cleared everything and has shared a picture with Krushna Abhishek on his Instagram account.

Kiku Sharda

Along with it, he wrote, ‘This bond will never break. That fight was just a prank. Do not fall for this gossip and rumours that I have left ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’. I will always be a part of the show and this family. So leave all this and go watch the show on Netflix. Only 3 episodes are left.’ Now, fans are reacting a lot to this post of Kiku Sharda and have breathed a sigh of relief that everything is fine between the two actors.

Kiku Sharda

A few days back, a video surfaced on social media in which Kiku Sharda was seen saying, ‘Am I passing time?’ On this, Krushna Abhishek got angry and said, ‘Okay then, you do it. I have no problem. I go from here. I love you, and I don’t want to raise my voice.’ On this, Kiku told him that he was taking the matter the wrong way. Although many users then called this video a publicity stunt, some also said that there was a real fight between the two.

Julie Andrews won her first Primetime Emmy in 20 years on Saturday (Sept. 6) – Night 1 of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which were presented at the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live. Andrews won outstanding character voice-over performance for her portrayal of Lady Whistledown on Bridgerton.

The legendary star, who turns 90 on Oct. 1, is not the oldest woman to win a Primetime Emmy. Her longtime pal Carol Burnett was approaching 91 when she won most her most recent Emmy in January 2024. The two stars made three acclaimed TV specials together.

Andrews had won two previous Primetime Emmys – outstanding variety musical series in 1973 for her weekly series The Julie Andrews Hour, and outstanding non-fiction series in 2005 for hosting Broadway: The American Musical for PBS. Andrews has also won two Grammys and an Oscar. Unfortunately, the Broadway legend never won a Tony, despite three nominations, keeping her from EGOT status.

Mick Giacchino won his first Primetime Emmy – outstanding music composition for a limited or anthology series, movie or special for The Penguin. Giacchino is the son of famed composer Michael Giacchino, who won a Primetime Emmy 20 years ago for Lost. The elder Giacchino has also won an Oscar and three Grammys.

Christopher Lennertz won his first Primetime Emmy – outstanding music and lyrics for the song “Let’s Put the Christ Back in Christmas,” which he wrote for The Boys. Lennertz beat strong competition, including high-profile songs by SNL alums Adam Sandler and Amy Poehler.

Cristobal Tapia de Veer won his fourth Primetime Emmy, all earned for his work on The White Lotus. He won this year for outstanding original main title theme music.

Theodore Shapiro won outstanding music composition for a series (original dramatic score) for the second time for his work on Severance.

Gabe Hilfer won outstanding music supervision for his work on The Studio. It’s his second win in that category for his work on a buzzy series. He won two years ago for The White Lotus.

The Creative Arts Emmys are being presented over two nights, Saturday, Sept. 6, and Sunday, Sept. 7. Highlights from the two ceremonies will air Saturday, Sept. 13, at 8 p.m. PT on FXX.

The Studio was the big winner on Night 1, with nine awards. Other programs with multiple awards were The Penguin (eight); Severance (six); Andor, Arcane and Love, Death + Robots (four each); The Boys and Bridgerton (three each); and Adolescence and The Pitt (two each).

The Primetime Emmys will be telecast live coast-to-coast on Sunday, Sept. 14, from 8 to 11 p.m. ET on CBS and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. Comedian Nate Bargatze is hosting for the first time.

A Frightening Success: The Conjuring: Last Rites Earns Rs 17 Crore, Sets New Benchmark For Horror Films!” | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 September 6, 2025
written by jummy84

The Hollywood horror movie The Conjuring: Last Rites reached Indian cinemas at last today, being the ninth and last installment of the worldwide favorite Conjuring Universe. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson star in the movie that has broken records, giving the franchise and the horror category the biggest opening ever in India.

On its opening day, Last Rites raked in a huge ₹17 crore net despite being in competition with new releases like Baaghi 4 and Madhraasi. The film’s box office gross collection amounted to ₹21 crore, where ₹43 lakh was just from midnight shows, thus indicating the frenzy among fans of horror films.

Breaking a 7-Year Record
The achievement is all the more significant since the film has broken the record of The Nun (2018), which had entered the Indian box office with a collection of ₹10 crore and had become the largest horror opener in India for the last seven years. With Last Rites almost doubling that amount, the reference point for horror movies in India has been reset.

Audience Response and Weekend Outlook
The solid opening also reflects on how the Conjuring series has established a loyal fan base in India, a feat few foreign horror franchises manage. Early word of mouth has also been well received, further stoking hopes of huge growth on the weekend.

Industry observers opine that if the movie continues to build up momentum during Saturday and Sunday, followed by consistent weekday collections, it could readily achieve super hit in India. Crossing the ₹100 crore net figure now seems a real possibility.

A Historic Start
With such a banger of an opening, The Conjuring: Last Rites has already etched itself in Indian box office lore. For the fans, the last chapter assures not just spine-tingling thrills but a big goodbye to one of the greatest horror epics ever created.
