The Marvel Cinematic Universe is heading into one of its most exciting phases, with a mix of stories that feel bigger, darker, and more personal than ever before. From supernatural battles that bring in new shades of horror, to cosmic adventures that open fresh corners of the universe, to massive multiverse events that promise to change everything we know, Marvel is lining up projects that balance spectacle with heart. Each film and series has its own identity, but together they’re building toward a future that looks both unpredictable and thrilling.

Avengers: Doomsday

Marvel

Release Date: 18 December 2026

written by jummy84

EXCLUSIVE: Pete Earley and Gerald Shur’s nonfiction book WitSec: Inside the Federal Witness Protection Program is being developed for TV at HBO, from Peter Chernin’s Chernin Entertainment. Justin Piasecki (Relay) and David Kob (Foundation) will serve as writers on the project.

TheWitsec series follows a DOJ lawyer and a hardened mob hitman, both fed up with the corrupt institutions around them, who form a precarious alliance to convict criminal titans and save lives in the rogue origins of the Witness Protection Program.

Witsec will be executive produced by Alex Jackson of Chernin Entertainment, Earley and Miriam Shur.

Piasecki is currently writing his as-yet-untitled original thriller feature for Amazon MGM Studios. He also has his feature Stakehorse at Amazon, which has Justin Lin attached to direct and Hidden Pictures attached to produce. His feature Relay was released this fall by Bleecker Street and is directed by David Mackenzie and stars Lily James, Riz Ahmed and Sam Worthington. Piasecki is repped by Paradigm, Range and Hansen Jacobson Teller Hoberman.

Kob recently was elevated from executive producer to co-showrunner on Foundation for Apple TV+ and Skydance, after being with the show since Season 1. The sci-fi series recently was renewed for a fourth season. He is repped by Paradigm and Signature Management.

Founded three years ago, Chernin Entertainment is a global content studio whose projects span scripted, unscripted and documentary content. Its labels include Chernin Entertainment (film, TV and indie), North Road Television, Words + Pictures and Kinetic Content, among others.

Recent projects include the action-comedy Back in Action and Fear Street: Prom Queen, both of which debuted at No. 1 on Netflix’s most-watched list. Its upcoming film slate includes Apex and sci-fi 11817 — both for Netflix — as well as Altar with Kyle MacLachlan and January Jones. On the TV front, they released the Jason Momoa-led Chief of War and Starz’s P-Valley, with The Backrooms (fka Man on Fire) with Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve coming soon to Netflix. Earlier this year, Chernin Entertainment signed a multi-year first-look film deal with Apple TV+.

Which Series Were Taken Off the Air? – Hollywood Life

2025 has been a tough year for television, with networks cutting back on fan-favorite series and audiences saying goodbye to beloved characters. The list of canceled shows continues to grow, and CBS has led the pack with some of the most surprising decisions, most notably the cancellation of S.W.A.T. Executive producer and showrunner Andrew Dettmann called the S.W.A.T. cancellation “heartbreaking news,” telling Deadline at the time that the cast and crew were ” an extraordinary group of people who have all worked so hard and have been so dedicated for all these eight seasons, overcoming countless challenges.” ABC also shook late-night TV when it announced that Jimmy Kimmel Live! would be suspended “indefinitely,” though the network stopped short of calling it a full cancellation.

Below, take a look at the growing list of TV shows that have been canceled in 2025.

S.W.A.T

In March, the S.W.A.T. cast and crew assembled to rally support to potentially bring their show back. After all, this wasn’t the first time that CBS had canceled the program. Series lead Shemar Moore took to Instagram and thanked fans but noted that he’s “no quitter.”

“SWAT IS CANCELED…. AGAIN!!!” Shemar captioned an Instagram post. “After 8 seasons… CANCELED… maybe this time for good!!! But my momma didn’t raise NO QUITTER!!! No Matter what, I AM GRATEFUL n THANKFUL!!! Almost 31 years in this game of Hollywood… JOURNEY OF A DREAMER!!! To my Homies, Fans, Baby Girls, SWAT CREW, and Hollywood…. I say THANK YOU!!!! And “FILL THE GAPS n STAY LIQUID… ROLL SWAT” [sic]!!!!”

FBI: International

Along with S.W.A.T, CBS axed any future for FBI: International. Deadline attributed its cancelation to the network making room for other shows still on the air.

FBI: Most Wanted

On top of International, CBS also canceled FBI: Most Wanted.

The Neighborhood

After eight seasons on the air, CBS announced that The Neighborhood will conclude. CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach commented on the news, per Variety, and noted that the “brilliant cast and creative team” had “brought levity, laughter and poignant storylines to Monday nights for seven incredible seasons.”

Despite being a “strong ratings performer for CBS and one of the top comedies on TV,” Amy concluded that they believed “loyal fans deserve a proper farewell season full of the trademark humor and heartfelt moments that are synonymous with the series.”

Poppa’s House

After just one season, Poppa’s House was axed by CBS in April 2025. Series star Damon Wayans shared via Instagram, “Though Poppa’s House is coming to a close, I’m walking away with deep gratitude, lifelong friendships, and unforgettable memories. This show gave me more than I could’ve ever imagined. To everyone who watched, supported, and believed in us thank you. Your love means everything. On to the next chapter, with nothing but love in my heart.”

The Old Man

Hulu shocked fans when it canceled The Old Man following two seasons. The Jeff Bridges-led show was not renewed for a third season after production was paused several times, according to Deadline.

Night Court

Why Was 'Night Court' Canceled? Find Out the Reason
NBC

Right after its season 3 finale aired — which featured a Big Bang Theory reunion between Melissa Rauch and Simon Helberg — NBC canceled Night Court.

Suits LA

NBC gutted the Suits spinoff Suits LA right before its season 1 finale had the chance to air. The show was led by Stephen Amell, who played Ted Black, an ex-New York City prosecutor-turned Los Angeles entertainment lawyer.

FBI: Most Wanted

The drama series FBI: Most Wanted ran for six seasons before coming to an end in May 2025.

According to Deadline, CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach shared in May 2025, “Ultimately those deals and the shows just weren’t penciling out for us for an economic perspective.”

The Wheel of Time

Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time was not renewed for a season 4 and was canceled in May 2025, one month after its season 3 finale aired. According to Deadline, the reason behind its cancellation was financial. Despite previously being one of the streamer’s most successful and top-rated series, its viewership declined in season 3.

The Equalizer

The Equalizer, starring Queen Latifah, was officially canceled by CBS in May 2025 after five seasons. The reimagining of the classic crime series premiered in 2021 and was a consistent performer for the network in its early years.

The Irrational

NBC’s The Irrational was canceled in May 2025 after two seasons. The procedural, starring Jesse L. Martin as a behavioral science expert, premiered in fall 2023 and maintained modest ratings through its run.

Duster

After just one season on HBO Max, Duster was canceled. The short-lived series received positive reviews and starred Red, White & Royal Blue‘s Rachel Hilson and Yellowstone‘s Josh Holloway.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Stephen Colbert‘s decade-long-running comedy series, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, was officially axed by CBS amid its parent company Paramount Global’s merger with Skydance Media and after CBS’ $16 million settlement with Donald Trump. CBS insisted in a statement that the cancelation was a “financial decision.” Stephen’s show will end in May 2026.

E! News

After more than 30 years on the air, NBCU canceled E! News, The Hollywood Reporter reported on July 24. The entertainment news television series will end on September 25 of this year.

Resident Alien

Resident Alien, which first premiered on Syfy in 2021, has been officially canceled. The USA Network announced in July 2025 that the show will conclude with its fourth season, bringing the series to a close on August 8, 2025.

“I knew going into it that this was likely going to be our final season,” creator and showrunner Chris Sheridan told TV Insider.

And Just Like That

Showrunner Michael Patrick King confirmed on August 1 that And Just Like That will end following the season 3 finale.

“And just like that… the ongoing storytelling of the Sex and the City universe is coming to an end,” King wrote in his statement. “While I was writing the last episode of And Just Like That… season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop. Along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to end the popular series this year with a two-part finale and extended the original series order from 10 episodes to 12.”

Goosebumps

Tim Robinson & Lake Bell in ‘The Chair Company’ Kooky Series Trailer

“You’re disgusting – these are my work clothes!” HBO Max has revealed the first official trailer for a kooky comedy series called The Chair Company, co-created by the comedy writers Tim Robinson & Zach Kanin (both worked for “SNL” for years). So this sees to be the spiritual sequel to the hilarious Friendship movie from earlier this year? The series stars Tim Robinson as a man who investigates a far-reaching conspiracy after an embarrassing workplace incident. The main cast includes Lake Bell, Sophia Lillis, Will Price, Joseph Tudisco, & Lou Diamond Phillips. With episodes directed by Andrew DeYoung, director of the film Friendship. So what did he discover? They don’t reveal in here – would could it be? This reminds me of a Charlie Kaufman comedy, it has very similar vibes to Being John Malkovich or even a bit of Boots Riley’s Sorry to Bother You. I hope it gets crazier & crazier as it goes on! Ready to watch and find out later this fall.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for HBO Max’s series The Chair Company, direct from YouTube:

Featuring episodes directed by Andrew DeYoung and Aaron Schimberg. Made by Wolfmask, Inc., Zanin Corp, Hyperobject Industries. Executive produced by Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin, Adam McKay and Todd Schulman for HyperObject Industries, plus Andrew DeYoung, and Igor Srubshchik. Claire Danes & Matthew Rhys in New Series ‘The Beast in Me’ Teaser

by Alex Billington
September 15, 2025
Source: YouTube

“We are, all of us, drawn to monsters… We flirt with death to prove we’re truly alive. And if we can’t stop, then that small fire we lit might just burn the whole house down… with us still inside.” One helluva quote to start with! Netflix has revealed a first look teaser trailer for a new series titled The Beast in Me, a crime thriller following a woman investigating her neighbor. This is set to launch on Netflix in November this fall. From the creators of “Homeland” comes another tricky new series. Author Aggie Wiggs, grieving her the loss of her son, finds new purpose unraveling the mystery behind neighbor Nile Sheldon’s vanished wife and his suspicious dealings. At once horrified and fascinated by this man, Aggie finds herself compulsively hunting for the truth – chasing his demons while fleeing her own – in a game of cat & mouse that might turn deadly. Interesting… Starring Claire Danes, Matthew Rhys, Brittany Snow, & Natalie Morales. Also with Jonathan Banks, David Lyons, Tim Guinee, Hettienne Park, Deidre O’Connell, Aleyse Shannon, Will Brill, Kate Burton, Bill Irwin, Amir Arison, Julie Ann Emery. This looks compelling! Lots of secrets hidden within.

Here’s the teaser for Gabe Rotter & Howard Gordon’s series The Beast in Me, from Netflix’s YouTube:

“The title of the series comes from a Johnny Cash song — but it’s not as simple as it might initially seem. It really is about all of our complicity. Whether it’s Monica Lewinsky or Amanda Knox or Nile Jarvis or whatever, sometimes we are quick to make assumptions. But when we are forced to look at it from another angle, do we have the humility and the compassion to listen and to revise the narrative?” –Showrunner Howard Gordon

Since the tragic death of her young son, acclaimed author Aggie Wiggs (Claire Danes) has receded from public life, unable to write, a ghost of her former self. She finds an unlikely subject for a new book when the house next door is bought by Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys), a famed and formidable real estate mogul who was once the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance. At once horrified and fascinated by this man, Aggie finds herself compulsively hunting for the truth – chasing his demons while fleeing her own – in a game of cat & mouse that might turn deadly. The Beast in Me is created by writer Gabe Rotter (of “The X-Files”). It’s showrun & co-written by Howard Gordon (of “The X-Files”, “Homeland”, “24”). With writing by Gabe Rotter, Erika Sheffer, C.A. Johnson, Daniel Pearle, Ali Liebegott, Mike Skerrett, & Gordon. With episodes directed by filmmaker Antonio Campos (Afterschool, Simon Killer, Christine, The Devil All the Time, “The Staircase”). Made by 20th Television. Executive produced by Daniel Pearle, Conan O’Brien, Jeff Ross, David Kissinger, Caroline Baron, Jodie Foster, Howard Gordon, Gabe Rotter, Claire Danes, Antonio Campos. Diana Penty Opens Up About Choosing Her First Web Series| Bollywood Bubble

by jummy84 September 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Diana Penty is an Indian actress and model who made a smooth transition from the fashion world to Bollywood. The actress made her debut with Cocktail, since then she’s appeared in films like Happy Bhag Jayegi, Parmanu, and Shiddat, showing off her range in both light-hearted and serious roles.Known for her graceful presence and effortless style, Diana also continues to be a popular face in the fashion and brand space.

Diana Penty Opens Up About Her First Web Series

After making her mark in films and the digital film space, Diana Penty now steps into the world of web shows with her first-ever OTT series, which is streaming now on Amazon Prime Video. The series also stars Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead role alongside Diana. While Tamannaah essays the role of Shikha, Diana plays Anahita, a character she describes as layered, fun, and meaningful exactly the kind of role she had been waiting for.

Reflecting on why she took her time to say yes to the web show format, Diana shares,
“Well, what can I say…I’m always late to the party! But on a serious note, I’ve always been sure that I will wait for the opportunities that are right for me, the ones that I feel the most invested in. Because it doesn’t make sense to do something just for the sake of doing it, or because there’s a certain pressure to do it. In my mind, the perfect OTT debut involved something weighty – a good, solid part, not a small part in a big show. I wanted to play a character that was significant throughout the show.”

She further adds, “And equally important for me was a good platform, a good banner and directors I felt comfortable with – because at the end of the day, I’ve always been a director’s actor. Do You Wanna Partner couldn’t have been more perfect as my OTT series debut – with Prime Video and Dharmatic being on board, and with Archit Kumar and Colin DCunha leading the way. Not to mention, the opportunity to play Anahita, a character I had been waiting for a long time! I’d say the wait was definitely worthwhile”

With her role as Anahita, Diana finally found the balance of significance and substance she had been waiting for, making this series her most exciting digital outing yet.

Dharmatic Entertainment’s new comedy-drama stars Tamannaah Bhatia and Diana Penty as two women who dive into the craft beer business together. With investors, family drama, and friendship on the line, things get hilarious and messy. The show, streaming on Amazon Prime Video, also features Javed Jaffrey, Shweta Tiwari, Nakuul Mehta, and Rannvijay Singha. The series is directed by Archit Kumar and Collin D’Cunha, and was co-created by Mithun Gongopadhyay and Nishant Nayak, who also contributed to the writing along with Nandini Gupta and Aarsh Vora.
